Great food, attentive service, and a wonderful place to enjoy dinner together with family and friends. Wonderful list of appetizers, entrees, deserts, and mocktails. Everything I've tried here has a homerun!
4/5 Dynamite prawn $23/5pc- pretty good, crispy 4/5 Mocktails: passion potion $10, Mr. Mango $10, blue rain $12- really good 4/5 chicken pad ki mao $17- the least expensive entree we got but the best 1, well flavored 3/5 ribeye steak $40- too chewy, even when I tried to cut against the grain 3/5 Thai lamb steak $37/6pc- the sauce is too heavily spiced 3/5 mango sticky rice $15- it's ok, some mango slices a bit sour, not enough coconut cream, will forever be on the hunt for a mango sticky rice as good as the 1 I had at Wat Thai in LA, this doesn't compare 3/5 assorted mochi ice cream $12- matcha not strong enough, taro lacks flavor, strawberry is good 1/5 Nur-tella fried ice cream - ganache disgustingly sweet, any not use dark chocolate ganache? 1/5 Merlot $7- this red wine was prolly worse than the white Chardonnay I had last time 3/5 Service- lady was pushy abt getting us bottled water when we already said no the 1st time, she was also in a rush to clear the plates, other server was excellent
Had such a good time at Nur Thai Astoria! Food was delicious and service was great. It is pricey but def worth it in good com
My good friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner on a Saturday night and came across this restaurant. The place isn't too big but it's nicely decorated. I didn't know they didn't sell alcohol. They only have mocktails and non alcoholic wine. We tried 2 of the mocktails and the presentation was amazing however they were super sweet. We started with crab Rangoon and chicken satay. Both were tasty however I enjoyed the chicken more. As far as our entrees my friend went with the chicken green Thai curry, I got the chicken garlic and we shared the crab fried rice. All three dishes were amazing. We really enjoyed our meal. Apart from the food being excellent the service was just as great. I really do hope they get a liquor license in the near future because I do enjoy a cocktail with my dinner.
I forgot to review the restaurant last year so here I am revisiting it because the food was fantastic! Since my nephew and his wife love rice dishes and Thai food, we picked this place. On the second visit, we came with my nephew's in-laws. We had the same waiter, Daryl, if I'm not mistaken. He was attentive and professional and he remembers us, awesome! We loved basil fried rice, Thai fried rice, crab meat fried rice, appetizer samplers, dumplings, and many more. They offer sauces on the side, and the chili paste is not that spicy, so I can recommend this if you don't eat spicy food to at least try their spices. One dish that I'll try next is stir-fry udon. Hubby ordered this on our second visit, and I tried it and loved it. This dish was a bit spicy, but it had a sweet spice, and it was delicious! The place was nicely decorated inside and out. It felt nice and cozy inside. Great job! Highly recommended!
Glad to be able to have halal Thai food, as we don't get that at home. It was a good experience mixed with some bad. Food taste and presentation were great! I had made a reservation online. I even received a phone call from the restaurant confirming my reservation and time. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the staff acted as they are unaware of my reservation and could not locate it, even though they themselves had called and confirmed hours prior. They cleared a table for us and we sat down. Another family had the same issue shortly after. When we were asked for water, I said no to crystal and asked for regular without ice. After leaving, I realized we were charged for 7 glasses of "still" water for $14. I am so confused at this charge. Why are we paying for water? I can literally have tap water. Now, if we all ordered separate bottles of water, I understand, but this is a first for me, being charged for water at a sit down restaurant. The amount was incorrect as well, as we were 5 adults (none of us got a refill) and one toddler (who had his own sippy cup and did not even need water, so one glass was not even touched). Not sure how they counted 7 glasses. We ordered tom yum soup for 3 with shrimp and our entrees. We got the pad see ew with beef, Thai fried rice with chicken, and pineapple fried rice with chicken. They were all delicious, but I feel like the restaurant is really charging every single thing. A $1 to $3 charge is added to the entree upon choice of protein. Yes, when you get shrimp I have always seen an additional charge, but this is the first place that is even charging for chicken. I felt the dishes were overpriced, as the portion is not even huge. It was actually the first time we finished our meals at a Thai restaurant with no leftovers. I also got a blue rain mocktail. It was good, but nothing to write home about for $12. The presentation with smoke was nice though upon arrival. We ordered the small dessert platter ($35), which feeds 2-3 people. We chose the chocolate lava, mango sticky rice, and they included their complimentary mochi ice creams. The best thing was the mochi ice cream in my opinion. The mango sticky rice was in no comparison to an actual Thai mango sticky rice. The mango was hard and tart and was cut way to large to even enjoy properly with the spoons provided. They should have been sliced thinly as this dessert usually has. There was also no condensed milk over the mango or rice. The rice was boiled in maybe some milk and sugar and really had nothing in common with an actual mango sticky rice. My niece enjoyed the chocolate lava cake. The mochi flavors were good though and 4 were provided. Overall, I found the restaurant to be vastly overpriced. I recommend going here for a date if you want, but if you want real Thai food, then I feel an actual Thai restaurant would be a greater bang for your buck. They should change the water cost ASAP or make aware their patrons of the cost, because most are probably unaware like me.
Really craving mango sticky rice at the end of September when mango was out of season and they miraculously still had it on the menu. We made the trip just for this dessert although we should've questioned it when all the other restaurants/dessert places in the vicinity said they didn't have it since it was out of season. Upon entering the restaurant, it felt upscale not the typical local no frills restaurant. We felt bad just ordering desserts so we got an additional one and everything just went downhill. Mango Sticky rice: mango was hard, not ripe, and not sweet. Three no no's already. On top of that, the sauce that accompanied it was salty not the traditional condense milk and it was thick and squeezed not even nicely over the mango sticky rice. We asked the waiter what the sauce was and she couldn't explain it either. Chocolate Lava Cake with Thai Tea Ice Cream: don't call it chocolate lava if upon slicing the cake there's no lava or anything oozing out from the inside. It tasted like a store-bought brownie cake. Thai tea ice cream was good though. Overall, came for expensive desserts that were disappointing, I'd recommend getting desserts elsewhere.
Ordered the crab rangoons as an app got one other for free is absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend coming here if you haven't been there. Thai food is absolutely amazing. Best in Queens hands down!! Always order food here with my cousin when she's back from Miami
What a great restaurant. I came here on a Monday night, and the service was impeccable. They told us that the original Nur Thai is in Rego Park, so this is an extension. There's a deal here where it's 25% off from 5pm to 7pm on Mon to Thur. The promotion is 25% off of the appetizers and drinks. Regarding the drinks, they only have mocktails. All of their food is halal, which I didn't know Thai food could be. The service was really great. Our waiter was Jazmine, and she helped us pick out appetizers and other dishes that would suit. She gave great suggestions as my diet eliminated a lot of food items. At the end of the meal, when she gave us the check, they forgot to take out the 25% at the end, and we forgot to mention it too. So they returned it back to us. She prob took it out of her tip or something, which was sweet. Food wise, I got for myself the Thai Ceviche, which had loads of seafood inside, and it had good seasoning on it, too. For the table, we got the chicken satay and ribeye jerky. I enjoyed the chicken more as the sauce went well with it. Last but not least, I got the creme brulee for dessert.
WOW!!!!!! That's the word to best describe this place and what I couldn't stop saying while eating here. I came here with my family for dinner on a Saturday night and everyone enjoyed themselves. To drink I had the Lady of the night, which was brought out under a clear & smoke-filled cloche. It has this cool bubble which can be popped with a rose that is given to you. The entire concept of this drink is super cool and creative! I loved it, and to top it off, the taste was absolutely delicious. The other drinks we ordered were the Paradise and the Thai Iced Tea, both of which were very tasty. For appetizers we ordered the fried chicken dumplings and fried calamari. Both were gone within minutes because of how tasty they were. The sauce that came with the calamari was out of this world. A good mixture of sweet and spicy. For my main course I ordered the fiery chili chicken, which came with a side of jasmine rice. I love spicy food and this chicken was SPICY! I loved it because I'm always searching for food that will pack a punch in the heat department. My family also ordered the prawns, the ribeye, and the shrimp curry. Everyone enjoyed their food so much. For dessert, we got the sampler, and I'm so glad we did because there was something that each one of us enjoyed. Between the mochi, molten lava cake, and the fried rice, we were able to clear the dessert sampler, which was a very generous portion. Aside from the great food and amazing ambiance, the service here was great. Our waitress was extremely attentive and did a great job at suggesting menu items based on our preferences. Jashim & Razib, the owners here, were extremely friendly and welcoming.
The hospitality and service was top tier! Reservations were easily made online. We had a small group for Galentine's and wanted to try this spot since it has been on our list for too long. Since we eat with our eyes first, presentation was EVERYTHING! From the drinks to the food everything looked perfect and tasted incredible. We had so much fun with our mocktails. The perfect blend of mocktails in terms of presentation and flavor. Will need to come back to try the rest of their menu! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
we arrived on a Monday afternoon After 5 PM and the restaurant was empty when we arrived Service was good. We ordered entrées from the vegetarian vegan section. And one order of vegetable dumplings The food was good as the portions Nice to find numerous or fish options on the menu, which would be expected at aThai restaurant A good find in the area I have been wanting to stop in for a while not sure if I would make it a regular place to patronize
The food was AMAZING! The server, Laura, was gentle and great to us! We were celebrating our anniversary and the ambiance was perfect for it, so romantic and cozy Remember there is no alcoholic beverages but their cocktails are cute !!

Food was great, everything was well done. Love that they have crab. Would be a good date spot. They used to have really good music outside a couple summers ago for a short time--modern and classic remixes of classic 90s R&B, not sure when or why that stopped. Staff was good, even those being trained were really accommodating and no issues. read more
The service, food and decor were wonderful. I was especially pleased how they greet you from the beginning and continuously check on you throughout your dining experience. They checked for food allergies when taking our order, for which I do have. I truly appreciate that. The food was fresh and flavorful, too much to finish. The mocktail was delicious and makes you want another. I am looking forward to my next dining experience with them. read more

Decided to stop here on a whim on a Sunday night with no reservation. I had driven past a few times and wanted to try it. Service was quick and attentive. The space is decorated beautifully. Love that they have an extensive mocktails list. More restaurants should have these options. I throughly enjoyed the crab cake - the sauce was sweet and tangy the crab cake was toasty and savory. Portions are perfect! Not too much nor too little. The pad see ew was delicious. Noodles were delicate and not rubbery. Chicken was savory. Pineapple fried rice was good with a hint of curry which made it different from other pineapple fried rice I've had - it gave it a savory that counteracted the sweet of the pineapple. Overall good Thai food id come back to try more dishes. read more

Just had a blast in Astoria, This spot boasts one of the most impressive Thai Halal menus in the neighborhood and it's seriously adorable. We ordered the appetizers sampler and variety of main dishes ( Golden Red Snapper, Massaman short rib, Pad see ew ) Each dishes is a masterpiece and I was blown away by the unique and incredible flavors. The star of the show is their mocktails, we tried the Blue rain and Thye me down, the presentation is Instagram-worthy and the flavors are a perfect complement to the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. And because a meal is never complete without dessert, we indulge in the "Thai Disco Dessert Platter ", the presentation was spectacular, it was the perfect sweet ending to our feast. Big shoutout to the great service, nurthai is a must-visit for a fantastic culinary experience. Highly recommend this gem!! read more
This was an absolute gratifying experience went here with my brother for dinner and we both loved it. It's a small spot but beautiful decor and service is good. Our host was very attentive and polite. We ordered drunken noodles they were so good and the drink we ordered I forgot the name but it was pineapple flavor was really good. Parking was not that easy to find in this area since it's a busy area. Definitely worth a visit!! read more

I dined here at the beginning of June. While the service from Alondra was excellent, I was surprised to see a 4% surcharge added for using a credit card. Upon reviewing our receipt, I noticed the tax rate appeared to be 13%, which seemed unusually high. I called the restaurant for clarification and was told that the credit card fee is added into the same line as the tax. I'm not sure if that's even legal, and it certainly feels misleading. I also asked if there was any signage informing customers of this fee, and was told there's a sign at the bar--and as of Feb 2024 a business cannot "Put a SIGN ON THE WALL OR AT THE REGISTER that notifies a fee is applied to all credit card sales." On top of that, the huge advertisement outside about discounts at the Astoria location is not currently in effect, and there's no information posted about when it starts. Overall, we left feeling misled. While we love Astoria, this experience felt more like a money grab than a genuine dining experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Nur offers one of the most impressive halal menus in the Astoria neighborhood. Their Thai dishes are incredibly unique and flavorful; there is such detail with preparation, ingredients and herb selections. The true standout is their full menu of mocktails and non-alcoholic wines, imported from Spain and France, which they also sell by the bottle. It really gives a real dining experience of lovely pairings to those who opt not to drink. The service is also fantastic, our waiter - Sonam, was attentive, prompt and provided great suggestions for an enjoyable outing. My friends and I enjoyed the selection of appetizers - 24K golden bag, which came out crispy and savory, the zesty calamari was also tender and flavorful with a sweet mango chutney that came with it. Highly recommend the Tom Kha, which was so incredibly zingy with fresh herbs and roots. The noodle dishes are phenomenal and familiar to other main staples from Thai eateries. If you're looking to try something different, would recommend the Bam Bam Pineapple, loaded with different proteins and veggies, sautéed in sweet and spicy sauces. The Massaman curry is also a crowd pleaser, though you will find yourself wanting more! Although we did not try, there was also a fun prix-fixe Barbie-themed menu at the time we went. I highly suggest going with a group so you can try and order as much as possible, whether you eat halal or not! read more
A hidden gem in Astoria, this Thai restaurant is cute and has a very nice ambiance and lounge kind of feeling. I have tried this place a few times since their opening this year, and their food never disappoints. They do not serve alcohol but have a decent choice of mocktails that they serve under a smoked glass for the effect. A must-try if you are in the neighborhood! I highly recommend making a reservation if you go as it is a small location and fills quickly. They take people with reservations over walk-ins, so play it safe. While there, I have heard some people mention "I called and they said I didn't need a reservation", they will ask you who you spoke to so be sure to get the name, and I would still insist on making the reservation anyway. read more
Ordered: Spicy Watermelon Margarita (~$12): jalapeño, fresh watermelon, agave, hibiscus, kaffir, lime, lemon, and pineapple nectar Mango Tango (~$10): kafir lime syrup, simple syrup, coconut water, coconut cream, mango nectar Steamed Chicken Dumplings (~$10): minced chicken, mushroom, carrot, dipping soy sauce Wings Fin Mak (~$14): fried chicken wings tossed in chef's special seasoning Pad See Ew with Beef (~$21): flat noodle, egg, Chinese broccoli, sweet soy sauce, served with mango kimchi Fresh Ginger with Tofu (~$14): tofu, mushrooms, onion, scallion, bell peppers, and carrots served with Jasmine rice Aya's take: Nur Thai is one of the newest Thai restaurants in Astoria will a full halal menu including drinks. They serve a variety of mocktails and non-alcoholic wines. I started off with the Spicy Watermelon Margarita mocktail. I actually wanted a different one but our waiter told me "that one doesn't come with a show". I'm glad he said that because we were able to experience the drink presented to us in a fun/unique way and the Spicy Watermelon Margarita. It wasn't overly spicy with the jalapeño as I thought it would be. It's definitely on the sweeter, fruitier side which I liked. The Mango Tango (doesn't come with "a show") was creamy, sweet, and silky. It's more of a dessert drink, in my opinion, and great to end the meal with. Now onto the food! Honestly, both appetizers were mediocre at best. They didn't taste fresh and the flavors weren't very authentic. The entrees really saved the day! The Pad See Ew was delicious! First off, the portion is great and the beef was cooked really well. The sweet soy sauce gave it a nice balance of sweetness and savoriness which was balanced by the Chinese broccoli. It hit the spot! I was also pleasantly surprised with the Fresh Ginger with Tofu. It's a pretty simple dish with light flavors - I can definitely taste the ginger and garlic in each bite. They used crispy tofu instead of regular tofu which I thought was a great idea. It was soft and pillowy on the inside and still had a slight crunch on the outside. The sauce made the outer tofu soggy quickly. The presentation of the mocktails and each dish was nicely done and the ambiance is perfect for a date night. Decent try if you're looking for a halal option in Astoria! read more
We came to Nur Thai on Feb 18 but at the time they didn't have this location on Yelp so I could not post my review then . It was Our very first time here. It was only a week after their opening. All the food was delicious. Prices were decent however we did split among ourselves. The place at the time opened at 5pm. Its not that big of a place but a decent amount of people will fit as well as big parties. Appetizers could have been warmer/hot. Our servers were good. Being about 5 ppl we were content with the mixed appetizers and the dessert variety. We also got our own entrees. The drinks were served in a cool fancy way. Sadly I cant seem to add videos here afterwards. Im assuming it needs to be done while you are there. Will definitely go back to try other dishes. The bathroom decor was also very nice and chic. Great for some picture taking. Check them out! read more
Nur Thai has another location in Queens and it was on my go-to list for a while but it was too far away. I was so happy when they opened a location in Astoria. I stopped by on a Saturday evening and had an excellent experience in every possible way. The reservation is a bit tricky since their website doesn't send reminders or allow you to update the reservation but you can call the restaurant. I had a good experience with updating a reservation. The ambiance is great. Nice decor and seating and great music. The service was excellent from beginning to end. All the staff was really pleasant and our server was very attentive. We were not too hungry the day we came since we had a huge brunch and we still cleaned up all the food we ordered. That is how much we enjoyed everything. We ordered the papaya salad, chicken dumplings, green curry, pad Thai, basil fried rice with beef and short ribs. We all got some mocktails too because of the wow factor of the presentation. My favorites were the basil fried rice and short ribs. My family favorite seemed to be the green curry as well. The short ribs are so tender and fall right off the bone. The beef in the fried rice is very tender and not dry at all. The spice level is very tolerable. My mocktail was the rose fizz and I liked it. I also tried the paradise mocktail and enjoyed that too. For dessert we got the lava cake with vanilla ice cream. It was cooked just right with the ooey gooey center I expected. read more

Lovely ambience for date night! I think there are only a few halal restaurants in the city that has such a great ambience for date night. However, I did think that the portion is kinda small for the price point. Most people come here for their creative and aesthetic mocktails too! read more

Ordered Nur Thai (Astoria) through Uber Eats and I was shocked because I heard great things through social media about them, I was craving Basil beef , so I ordered that and some Drunken Noodles with veggies, the Basil beef was so tough and salty, Uber Eats gave me a refund for the beef. The Drunken Noodle was flavorful but the noodles were mushy. The Thai ice tea was amazing though. Maybe the food tastes different from eating at the restaurant. read more

Amazing food, great service, beautiful ambience! The rangoons are the BEST and every single menu item was so yummy! Their mocktails look better than they taste but still delicious! read more

Was craving Pad See Ew during my lunch break so I had to order with my colleague from here!! I'm disappointed because they didn't give me the exact thick noodles that I wanted/expected! The noodles were good and somewhat flavorful but it lacked sauce and the sweetness and spice!! Hopefully next time I order from here it doesn't get messed up again :/ read more

This was my first time coming to Nur Thai in their new location. The inside of this location was beautifully designed! We went to celebrate our friends birthday and arrived on time for our reservation. Staff was super friendly and polite. They seated us right away and even had us try a new drink that's not on the menu, on the house. We ordered entrees, drinks and dessert. The drinks were so good and so beautifully presented! The drinks are mock tails and on the sweet side just as an FYI. Definitely something worth experiencing! The food was honestly delicious and a great size! We tried the crab friend rice, coconut fried rice and the bam bam pineapple. Definitely will be coming back! read more
