We went to celebrate our friends birthday and arrived on time for our reservation. Staff was super friendly and polite. They seated us right away and even had us try a new drink that's not on the menu, on the house. We ordered entrees, drinks and dessert. The drinks were so good and so beautifully presented! The drinks are mock tails and on the sweet side just as an FYI. Definitely something worth experiencing! The food was honestly delicious and a great size! Had a party of 11, and right of the bar the service is by far the most superb I ever witnessed!! We got 3 calamaris to start and it was freshly made. What a great place for dinner! We walked in on a Thursday night with no reservations and the staff made such a great effort to get us seated, despite it being busy and full. We only waited a few minutes until the next table cleared and were quickly seated after. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't say the food blew me away. The food was like any other NYC Thai spot. However... the SERVICE from DARROW was impeccable! He was so attentive and out of all the staff working there he was the most hardworking one. All of the tasks he completed in 5 minutes the others did not even complete in 1 minute. And that says a lot being that this is my first time visiting the restaurant and I was able to pick up on that. She literally Xmas to table and took her fork and knife and told her she's doing it wrong and did it for her. The food is great! The presentation was beautiful. Portions looked a bit small but were actually pretty filling. I also thought the decor and ambiance was very cute. This is a great spot for a first date or a cute date night in the neighborhood. The service was a bit rushed - they asked us to order desert before we even finished our main course. It felt like they were trying to free up the table as quickly as possible. They also don't give you the option of tap water - they ask if you want bottled still or sparking. You have to specifically ask for tap water otherwise they will charge you for the bottle. Also just FYI this place is halal so there is NO alcohol and they also don't allow you to BYOB. This place is so beautiful inside! The interior decor is stunning. We stopped in for quick drinks on our way home. We had already eaten dinner, so we didn't order any food, but we had a good experience so we will definitely be back to try some dishes! All of their drinks are alcohol-free, including wine and mocktails. We ordered 2 drinks, the Rose Fizz and the Paradise. It did take some time to receive our drinks after ordering, but the presentation is positively over the top, so I can understand why. My Rose Fizz had the perfect amount of sweetness, and I always LOVE a drink combo of bubbly and sweet. My partner enjoyed his Paradise- it's great for coconut & pineapple lovers, and comes in a cute pineapple glass. We will be coming back to try their food, and of course more mocktails. read more

We've ordered in from this place a few times and it was always pretty good. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for this experience. To start, we had an appetizer called "dynamite shrimp" which was billed as giant prawns cooked in a hot sauce. To say this was misleading is an understatement. What we received instead were 5 average shrimp cooked in a greasy batter with a few pieces of iceberg lettuce underneath and a dipping sauce on the side. FOR THIS THEY CHARGED $23. To charge $23 for 5 shrimp is deeply insulting to say the least, especially since they were poorly prepared and not as advertised. Another dish we has was beef in a "jungle curry," which was really just a simple brown sauce with a few spices and none of the delicate Thai curry flavors you would normally expect. The pad Thai was ok but nothing special. We also ordered a Thai ceviche. The fish was well prepared but 80% of the dish was unripe mango. Suffice it to say we will not be ordering from Nur Thai again and neither should you. read more

Ate here last night for the first time and had a wonderful meal, food was well prepared and very tasty. The crux of my review however, is about the service. Specifically our waiter Darrow. He was polite, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He was a breath of fresh air compared to many waiters/waitresses I've had recently at other establishments. Darrow's presence and attitude made the experience more pleasurable and helped enhance the classy feel of Nur Thai. On the off chance Darrow leaves Nur Thai, I'll be sure to visit wherever he works next! That is not to diminish the contributions of the rest of the staff who were equally pleasant and accommodating. I've walked past this place so many times and been excited to try! The vibe looks so cool and I'm sold by vibes. I noticed on their menu they only serve mocktails, which is okay and I'm sure has to do with being Halal. When we arrived they asked if we had reservations, which on a Friday night we did not. They had 2 options of seating and the one thing I noticed is the chairs were a bit uncomfortable and low to the ground, but again, minor details. Our server was polite at the beginning giving us a run down and suggestions. I have a peanut allergy which can be tricky at a Thai restaurant, but they were able to accommodate which is great. We ordered the vegetable dumplings to start, and Cashew chicken, spicy peppercorn dishes and my mom ordered a Paradise drink after asking for tropical- like drinks. They don't mention on the menu the price to add proteins, (veggie tofu chicken etc) which ups the price but still overall good prices. The food was good, 9/10, but unfortunately they forgot about my mom's drink and didn't check on us after serving our meal. Me, loving spice, but being a redhead, struggle with spice. So I needed more water and had to flag down the waiter in order to get it. Again, a little odd to have over the top service to start and then find your waiter missing minutes later. Got takeout the other night when I was craving Thai food and this place did not disappoint! The drunken noodles were flavorful, soft, and just the right amount of spicy. Chicken to noodle ratio was good although I did wish the overall portion was bigger. Their Thai iced tea is tasty without being too sweet and their molten lava cake for dessert was phenomenal. I got the chicken pad Thai and my bf ordered the pad see ew. They also have a selection of delicious mock tails to choose from. The service was also really good. Cute alcohol-free halal Thai place in Astoria! Very trendy with cute decor and a trendy fun sign. They don't serve alcohol but the mojito mocktail was delicious. Some of their mocktails also come with a little presentation such as smoke. The short rib was a bit chewy and I felt it could have been a little softer but I really enjoyed the sauce. I also liked the dates they gave as a little free appetizer and we didn't order dessert but they gave us complimentary ice cream. The staff was very friendly as well. Finding an open restaurant on Christmas can be very hard, but this was an easy pick for us. The food was delicious, and the colors and textures of the whole place kept us entertained. We can't forget about the delicious mocktails, inspired by fruit and presented with fruit-flavored smoke rolling off the top. It was perfect for our group. The service was amazing, and we had someone take our order as soon as we were ready. We were also greeted by a young man named Darrow. He was very kind, and throughout our experience filled up our waters, took our dishes when we were done, and clearly knew a lot about his job. I ordered the short ribs from new menu and it was the worst thing I ever eaten. 2 pieces of small beef with curry and rice for $40. Yeah right. Hello my family are visiting from Chicago and we had a spectacular dinner! The presentation was immaculate as our halal mocktail -- the paradise--was presented with oozing fancy smoke. Next the entrèes we're mouth watering and delicious. We ordered the ribeye steak which had a smoky flavor and the meat was sooo tender and juicy. All the other entrees we had were just as delicious. Nur Thai is very pretty and chill- great for a midweek lunch, dinner or a date night. We had the Snow White Mocktail which had a very grand presentation. It was very fresh and coconut-y and worth the wait. I initially ordered the Bang Bang rice, which is good but a bit spicy so I exchanged it for the pineapple fried rice, which was very fresh and filling accompanied with a side of peanut sauce, which was a perfect complement to the rice. My husband ordered the ribeye which was nice and tender and came with a side of sticky rice and seasonal vegetables. My roommate ordered the pad see kew which was nice and tender and delicious w chicken and veggies. Finally, we had the fried bananas w honey which was simply delicious.
