Came here this afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner and we shared the Matador Combo, which was more than enough for the 3 of us; and they didn't disappoint either, the food IS DELICIOUS and we washed it down with their famous red sangria! If you haven't gone, make your way!!!

3/28/26. 2.5 stars. Visiting this OG place was a bit of a let down. The chicken breast ($7.50) was juicy and I really enjoyed the green sauce. The pisco sour ($15) was made as req w/o simple syrup but not worth the price. Now, the chaufa with chicken/shrimp ($28) was bland and the huge chicken pieces were bone dry. We also had the lomo saltado ($36) and that was also disappointing. The steak was tender but there was zero seasoning/taste. It was taken off of the bill but I don't see myself ever returning.

This was my first time ever having a chicken empanada at this particular location and style! Here in New York. I forget which cultural background my boyfriend took me to for empanadas, but I've only had the Argentinian style made by my friend at her house. I've never had a chicken empanada that had olives and raisins inside it's mixture, but honestly, the sweet and sourness of both fruits gave the chicken a very good flavor, and I loved mixing the kind of mustardy zingy sauce with the green sauce that had some spice or heat!! We ordered takeout so the two chicken empanadas were made perfectly on time and after our 20 minute drive home, they were actually still warm and I liked the texture of the bread as well! It was light and had a almost MASA crispiness to it. I'm not too sure what it was made out of, but it gave a different texture to the dough portion of the empanada itself, which I was also impressed with! I can't wait to go back to New York and get more!! I would also say this particular area had so many different Latin cultures. I was very impressed!! I'm from the Bay Area of California and predominantly we have Mexican and Tex-Mex food here but not too many other Latin cultures. Kind of sad since the Bay Area is a melting pot of cultures itself predominantly Mexican food outweighs all the other Latin cultures here. I really appreciated all the different cultural Latin foods in this particular area of New York!!

Boy I haven't been here in ages! We had an event here on Sunday for my mom's best friend's church and it was perfect. Honestly it worked out so well I might consider having my baby's first birthday here. The event was held at their private hall next to their restaurant. For $25 we got a 1/4 chicken, salad, French fries and fried rice. The meal came with a glass of sangria or an Inca cola. The chicken was good; well seasoned and juicy. The rice was good and the fries weren't frozen. It was a good size plate for $25. The service was good, we even had a pisco sour at $15 a glass. It had enough liquor that you didn't need another glass. I am definitely thinking about having my baby's birthday here. I am glad it worked out and the music was top notch. See you soon Pio Pio!

I have been coming here for many years and have had mixed experiences. Their food has been good at times and a miss at others. My go to would usually be their whole chicken with order of maduros, salad and a glass of sangria. My aunt threw her husbands 50 birthday party in their private room and it was actually a great experience. The private room has its own bathroom which is great and convenient. The party room is very spacious and could easily hold 50 people or more. The service was great that night and the food was absolutely delicious. The jalea was well cooked and seasoned. Their whole chicken was juicy, their rice and beans were delicious and their salad was fresh. The only complaint I have is their sangria used to be much better; it was extremely sweet and very expensive for the jar.

My friend and her family have been going here for years. I loved the empanada de pollo because it was very flakey and fresh! The sangria was probably the best I ever had to be honest. The arroz chaufa can be made with chicken or with chicken and shrimp. I opted for chicken only. The food is big portions so be prepared to have leftovers or share. The space a very large and the bathrooms are very clean. The music is a nice volume and they have nice tunes. The service is excellent! Highly recommend. It is a bit on the pricy side, but it is 100% worth it.

Been here numerous times. Always delicious! They are very attentive and accommodating. We ordered empanadas and salchi papa to start. So good! We split the rotisserie chicken & lomo salta do for lunch. Such big portions & delicious. I love their salad! Can't wait to go back.

The portions given are huge, I really enjoyed the ceviche. My preference is typically to sit at the bar, the bartender was very friendly and made great recommendations. I would go back again.

We always pop in here when in the area. Large, spacious and tasty. We arrived Saturday evening around 7:30 and were pleasantly surprised to only wait about 5 minutes for our party of 7. We ordered two Matador Combos. Each combo includes a whole roasted chicken, salchipapas (fries and sliced hot dogs-sounds odd but oh-so yummy!) plantains (either tostones or maduros), delicious abundant salad and rice and beans. They aren't known for their rice and beans but all else is amazing! Best chicken around and the green sauce is one of a kind! Sangria and chicha moradas are a must!

The food was pretty good. I highly highly recommend the ceviche, which was absolutely my favorite piece as well as the dish in the middle, which I forget the name but the chicken was absolutely so tender. Everyone loves this place and I remember growing up everyone wanted to go here for a celebration. I haven't been here in years, but decided to give it a go again. Definitely recommend. I know they're known for their fish, as well as that middle plate that I mentioned. People love coming here to celebrate. I also got the Tres leches cake but that I did not like. It felt like it was left in an open refrigerator. It tasted very stale.

I keep calling and there's no answer? Is this location closed?! I called 3x no answer. Wanted to know if they are allowing parties of 8 inside.

Yes the location is open and the are picking up the phones as i called before i ate there 2 weeks ago.

Is there outdoor seating at all (especially for Phase 2 of reopening NYC)?

don’t know, but their take-out is very efficient!

    Are they open tonight?

Yes!! They are open until midnight. Bon appetite.

How much is it to rent the space?

I am not sure as we just made a reservation for our large family versus an event at there restaurant renting a room. I am sure they have someone who can guide you on all the different prices and room choices.

Iam planning a party in one of the party rooms its my first time is for october 22..will love to know other people experience and advice .i want to know if is worth the money (it is a bit pricey)?

That's a difference of $16.20, which was more than my $15 entree (steak with rice, beans, and tostones). They took it upon themselves to include a 15% tip on debit ($7.20) after my wife had already tipped with $10 cash (which was returned when we questioned it). They charged us $3 extra for a side of beans that should have been included with my wife's $21 fried fish platter. Initially they didn't charge anything for a $4 lemon beverage that was ordered by a misunderstanding, but once we ordered the flan after the bill came out the first time they corrected that mistake. Granted these are small charges, but the overall feeling we were left with was a bad taste. The bill turned out higher than what we initially expected and was no bargain considering we didn't even order an alcoholic beverage. It felt like we were paying a sucker surcharge.

The staff speaks to you in Spanish exclusively, which made me glad one of my boys is Honduran. The TVs all over the place are playing what appear to be Colombian music videos that were made in the 80s featuring old men and attractive young women. They've got buckets of Colombian beer and frosted mugs so cold that the beer turned to slush around the sides. They've got a platter called the Bandeja la Berraca that consists of rice, beans, steak, plantains, eggs, avocado salad, little corn cakes, blood sausage, other sausage (amazing), and a giant side of chicharron. Eat and drink to you're bursting, while adorable Colombian kids run around the place. And rejoice that you live in NYC, where these things can be had.

Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
