Great food and service for brunch! Went here with family and family friends for a Saturday brunch. Food was pretty solid and service was friendly! Would recommend making a reservation beforehand as the place was busy when we arrived and when we left. The vibes of the place are vibrant, and gets even more energetic/club vibes with a DJ playing a set around 2pm or so. Made it a little hard to talk with family due to the noise level, so keep that in mind!

I opted out of the churro pancakes this time around because I remembered how dry they were. My friend got them and I tried them to see if maybe it was just a one time thing but they were just as dry this time around. I did love everything I got this time around. I got the fried calamari and the tres golpes. Very decent amount of food for the prices. Drinks were really good and if you sign up for their rewards card, you can get a free appetizer for the table. Customer service was okay, just miscommunication due to what seemed like a language barrier but all was well when the chef came out to make sure my friend didn't actually want cheese inside her pancakes lol.

I had a pretty good lunch here. I just came across this place as a spur of the moment thing looking for a random restaurant to review and this place certainly stood out. The place is certainly huge, it has a 2nd floor but didn't get to see the upper floor because I was seated at the area near the bar on the first floor. The place gets good business since it was fairly crowded but it didn't affect the flow of service in the area. Due to the people in the restaurant I couldn't really get much pictured of inside the area but it definitely has color and the vibe of a Latin Fusion restaurant in full form. My server was a pretty young woman by the name of Andrea and she was very attentive and courteous, ever the busy worker but would occasionally check on me during my time in the restaurant. I ordered Chicken Empanadas as a starter and Chimichurri Chicken as the entree. Food was plated beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked. As far as Latin food goes, certainly Top 5. It looked good and tasted good and sometimes that doesn't always come hand to hand but they did the job here. Another pretty hefty prices lunch, everything w/ tip came up to $40 but I have no complaints. I had a good experience here.

Amazing food! Went on a vibrant Saturday night, and had an amazing time. Great music, great service, great all around

We came here expecting more Cuban-influenced cuisine, but after coming in, I've decided it's more Peruvian than Cuban - but even then, it's not Peruvian "enough" - just pan-Latino leaning Peruvian with Caribbean influences with. Just typing that made me a bit confused - and I was almost the entire night trying to figure out what the best offerings were. Gladly to say, everything we had here was delicious - although, admittingly, it's also overpriced (first time I've seen a churrasco for over $40, and a lomo saltado for over $30 - both being usually common dishes. However, it was one of the better ones I've had in a long time! As for ambience, it feels like a cross between a clubby restaurant and a date-night spot. Would I return? Sure, if I had money to splurge to come frequently, or maybe during their happy hours instead.

Missed the mark... After a long day of seeing family and exploring and supposedly good reviews, I decided to check this place out. I was greeted when I walked in, but that's where the "service" stopped. I sat at a table in the bar area. I had to ask for water, silverware, and a plate! Not a good start. I was feeling ravenous so I got the chips and guac to start, a passionfruit margarita, and the chicken and rice dish. The passionfruit margarita was such a let down. I think they forgot the passion because it tasted like straight sour mix. It was pretty bad and I was disappointed. The chips and guac were a nice touch and the guac was seasoned well. After devouring majority of the chips, my entree came. While the chimichurri was good, they could have had more. Once the chimichurri ran out, it was just a grilled piece of chicken. Thankfully the accompanying garlic rice and black beans made up for the catastrophe of a "chimichurri chicken breast". After I had enough, I set my plate to the side and waited for the check, and kept waiting until I had to go to the bar to settle. It's disappointing that 18% gratuity was already added in because the service and food was anything but. Oh and before you ask, they weren't that busy....

This restaurant was a great experience on Friday night. Be aware that they request $10 for reservations online through open table. The hostess was flexible about my party being a little late for our reservation. The restaurant wasn't crowded for a Friday night but had a steady stream of patrons. The drinks were good. My coworker and I ordered the mango margarita and the coco mojo. They were beautiful and strong enough. Each is us enjoyed our meals and had some left over. Overall the visit was worth the money. Gratuity is included and the service was good.

The shrimp appetizer with the baguette was delicious! The lomo Saltado was good. Service and ambience good! And the strawberry coconut cocktail delicious!

I've past Mojo several times and decided to try them out today. When you walk in, there are tables on the right and it's nicely decorated. Walk up a few of stairs is the bar and another set of stairs is where you dine. We had the Down the hatch ceviche and it was really good with fried tender calamari. The chicken fried rice was really good and seasoned also. The prices are reasonable and I will definitely return to try other items on the menu

Parking on street or a lot next to restaurant. Two floors lots of space for any size ur party is. Reasonable price range $$, music not too loud. Friendly as soon as you walk in to greet you, staff and customers. Food is delicious down to your drinks. Made just right can't wait to go back again. this time I took the photos before eating

Celebrated a 50th birthday at Mojo and had a great time. The drinks were delicious - the chocolate old fashioned and white sangria were amazing - and the appetizers - from salad to chips and guac to fried chicken sliders - were all amazing. I had the chicken chimichurri as my main and thought it was a bit dry, but the rice and beans helped with that a bit, and the churros and chocolate sauce for dessert were tasty as well. Great spot on Austin St!

Came here for brunch with friends on a Sunday. They were able to accommodate us walking in around 11:00 a.m. but would recommend making a reservation in advance as this place did fill up relatively quickly afterwards. Had a really nice interior. You dine in the upstairs section of the restaurant. When you walk in, there's a nice bar for you that you can hang out in. Their brunch menu was relatively small but had decent options with Latin Mix/inspired brunch menu items. We ordered their special of the day and their chicken and waffles. We also split an avocado tropical salad. The avocado tropical salad was nothing special. For the price you pay, you're really not getting much bang for your buck. It looked like it was a plopped together. For the Chicken and waffles, the Maduro waffles were what made it unique. The combo of syrup with the savoriness of plantains paired well together. However, the chicken was mediocre, small and not flavored which was disappointing. Dipping it in the turkey bacon gravy is a must for it to taste good. Their huevos Pericos was pretty good in my opinion. However, the tomato sauce also lacked a certain flair. Our friends got the ceviche because it was their most highly rated food item on Google. It was a perfect blend of tropical flavors with the fried umami from their seafood (calamari). The other reviews were 100% correct. Overall, we did leave full, however, there was just a certain lack of flavor in their dishes that makes me hesitant to come back again.

First, the customer service was excellent--the host was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The space itself is very small, about 9-10 tables total, but gave you that eating with your family vibe, talking at the table and listening to spanish music. The bathroom was clean but it had a shower, which was definitely... different. Now for the food. I ordered the fried red snapper with yellow rice and pigeon peas, salad and unfortunately it had no flavor at all. The rice was dry and tasted like there was no sofrito or seasoning, which was disappointing for a Puerto Rican spot. My sister's pork chops were actually very good--probably the highlight of the meal. They also don't serve alcohol, so I had a Coco Rico while my sister had water. Overall, while the service was great, the food didn't live up to the hype for me. I expected bold, authentic Puerto Rican flavors, and it just wasn't there. Also, I wish they offered plain Yellow Spanish Rice as well as white rice options. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't be returning. If you go, try the pork chops--that's your best bet. And if you're really looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, you're better off heading to Sofrito in Manhattan or grabbing cuchifritos uptown--they don't miss.

The most recent time was a few days ago, and it was excellent. The staff is nice, and the portions are generous for the price point, with two of us taking home leftovers out of the four people dining. To drink, three of us had shakes, or rather batidos, with the prices being $7 en agua or $8 en leche. I went with Lulo, which is listed as Solanum online, but really refers to naranjilla. As per the name, it means a little orange, but it is closer in flavor to a mix between pineapple and lime. Others had Maracuyá/passion fruit and Guanábana/soursop, and everyone enjoyed their drinks. They gave us some chulpi/corn nuts on the table, along with some aji verde, a lightly spicy green sauce which went with some of our heavier appetizers. Our heavier appetizer was two orders of the Bolón Mixto for $10. Bolon refers to a green plantain ball, and they offer the traditional cheese version along with chicharron, or with camarones/shrimp. The mixto combines the cheese and pork, and it was delicious, but very filling. One was more than enough, but we still enjoyed it, with the aji verde helping to reduce the overall richness. There was also the $6.50 Yapingachos/Llapingacho, or pan-fried potato cakes. These came two to an order and came topped with an onion and tomato salsa, along with some lettuce below. The potato cakes were a lot lighter by comparison to our other appetizer, but still flavorful. I would recommend them, as with other people who go here. Our smaller main dish was the Ceviche de Pescado for $17.00, or fish cocktail served either with rice or, as our choice, chifles or fried plantain chips. This was also available as a mixto, but I didn't order it as I have a pulpo allergy. There was a large amount of fresh fish inside for the price, making it very worth it. As with most ceviches, there was some sourness from the lime along with some fresh chopped herbs, onions, and tomatoes. It lacked a bit of heat I usually prefer, but I still liked it, and the whole thing was devoured quickly. Our other main dishes were all $19. My favorite of the bunch was the Seco de Chivo, with goat stew slowly cooked in home-made sofrito and beer, served with yellow rice, sliced avocado, and sweet plantain. The goat was cooked down until it was extremely tender, but still had a bit of chew, and there was a good amount of meat, even with the amount of bones in there. The broth was savory and mildly sweet, being warming, comforting, and perfect on top of the rice. This was excellent. For most of the other group, their favorite was the Chaulafan, a mix of stir-fried rice with chicken, beef, shrimp, egg, and veggies served with sweet plantain and avocado. The rice had a nice texture with some lightly crispy portions and was mildly salty. The meat inside was mostly very tender, regardless of what meat it was. This was excellent as well. The remaining dish was the Sango de Camarones, listed as a tropical dish and a purée of green plantains, slowly cooked in peanut sauce and shrimp, and topped with citrus red onions served with yellow rice and sliced avocado. The dish had a unique, almost gruel-like texture, which was a bit off-putting to some, but others like myself liked it. The shrimp inside was tender, and the dish felt a bit richer than the other mains. This was probably our least favorite main, but it was still good. We were quite full, but got some $7 Flan for dessert, which is in-house made. It wasn't overly sweet, which is my preference, and the texture was semi-soft. It was a good version, and the portion was large for the price. We liked this as well. Not many complaints here. Friendly service and good, reasonably priced food.
