I love Colombian Food and the one of my favorite dishes is their bandeja paisa. This is my go to dish when ordering in a Colombia restaurant. Took the entire family to this place for a birthday celebration . They were great in accommodating all of us. The service was good and quick. The food hit the spot when you are craving the chicarrón. If you know you know. The rest of the family order from their seafood menu very delicious and will go back. Need to take pics next time. read more

I used to LOVE THIS PLACE . I had rated it 4 previously. I had rated 4 I've been here countless times and ALWAYS order the same thing and always sit in the same place. They know me. Consistency in recipes AND presentation is crucial. I went in tonight, expecting the same flavors, appearance, as I've always had. Tonight was especially awful, food AND service . The meat was completely cooked on a cast iron pan , instead of browned on the grill then placed in the pan . If not it braises and not grills ( initial moisture ), The onions were not even soft, previously always translucent The potatoes weren't roasted on the pan with the meat, they were deep fried separately and put on the plate . They used to be Roasted with the meat .Normally the meat is charred and as it sets on the platter AuJus drips out for the onions to cook in. Service was abysmal. She never came to the table after the entree was brought. I asked for Flan and coffee. The flan came, coffee didn't come till much later. There was WAY TO MUCH SOCIALIZING. Two waitress were talking and not looking up to see me waving like a motorist Stuck waiting for AAA. The chef had me and one other table, of an adult and a child. Actions like this by employees have a direct impact on the business. I don't complain, but as much as I've loved this place, I'd never go back. STOP GOOFING OFF CHEF, AND THE Two ladies on the floor. Such a shame, No ignoring customers just to chat with fellow employees. I am a retired Personal Chef, I Only expect CONSISTENCY. Remember: Specials are the chefs chance to recreate and create. One must NEVER change recipes regulars are used too read more

Food is amazing and the only reason I come back. The service is HORRIBLE. Absolutely atrocious, the only person who provides good service is the bus boy and it's not even his job, and the head waitress who is always busy with carry out. She's amazing. The rest are all so lazy, and trying to leave is a nightmare. There will be 4-5 waitresses hanging out behind the bar or talking with each other in the corner, even if the restaurant is busy. Without fail it takes over 15 minutes every time to get the check to the point it's a running joke with my friend how long they will take this time. The waitresses are lazy because they put automatic gratuity of 18 percent without letting you know, even if you're a party of less than 6. We were only a party of three! This is ILLEGAL IN NEW YORK CITY and they can get heavily fined for this read more

I went on a Tuesday morning at 10am. The lunch special is a good deal so I would return for that. However, everything else on the menu is very pricey for what it is. Taste was ok and nothing special. But I felt like I was spending special prices. My kids did not enjoy their meal and they're huge fans of meat rice potatoes usually. Portions are generous or maybe it just felt that way because we weren't devouring our food. I didn't feel like things were seasoned enough. I didn't like how the flank steak turned out- I was expecting actual steak, not something that looked like it was boiled for hours. I dunno- but it was just very meh all around. Service was quick and prompt. read more

This place is a neighborhood restaurant that is filled with locals. The place was bustling on a Wednesday night, I'm wondering how it is during the weekends. There's no need to make any reservations. However, if you have more than four in your group, reservations are probably necessary. For the food, we went straight for the entree and got the grilled steak and corn cake with cheese. I enjoyed it. The hot sauce that they gave on the side was great. I got a drink which was on a separate menu. It was a passion fruit flavored margarita. It was so yummy, I thought it tasted great, but I didn't feel the alcohol until much later because it snuck up on me. All in all, I would like to return if I'm ever in the area again. read more

Was in the Queens area and noticed some Colombian restaurants in the area so had to swing through to get my fix. Was impressed that they had a relatively full restaurant during lunch hours- sign of good food. Staff was welcoming and super quick with my order. Ambience is great, multiple families and friends dining. Ordered the soup of the day (sancocho de res) which came with a side of chicken, rice and potato salad. The soup is a must have, I could've had 3 bowls and been content. Chicken was just ok but potato salad was good. Gunabana (soursop) juice was on point. Would return to try other Colombian staples such as the bandeja paisa! read more

Love this Latin restaurant in Woodside. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food is delicious. I love their mix plate with fried pork belly, thin flank steak, sausage, egg, plantains, beans, and a deliciously seasoned and fluffy rice. Their 1/4 chicken with soup and salad combo is also a must have. read more

The food here was fine but had a terrible experience - let me explain. I came here last week with my boyfriend to get some Colombian food and watch the Colombia vs Panama game (since we knew this restaurant was going to be playing the game). We arrived about 40 minutes before kickoff and got a seat in a nearly full restaurant of people waiting to watch the game. My boyfriend and I got a starter, food, and drinks and since everything came out quickly we were practically done by the time the game started. The waitresses had been very kind up until more customers came in waiting for seats. Since we had finished our meals the waitress brought us our check and I told us she needed the table back for the other guests. Note, we had been there for only 45 minutes and the game had just started. We asked if we could stay and watch the game and order more food so we could keep the table, to which the waitress seemed annoyed and said said she would be back (the restaurant was busy so she probably left to go check on other customers). Two more waitresses would come by and (for the most part very kindly) told us they needed our table back. We left 10 minutes later since the whole interaction left a bad taste in our mouths. Maybe next time advertise a per table minimum $$ to watch the soccer game you are inviting people to come watch so you don't have to tell your clients to leave (despite us asking if we could order more food to keep the table)???? And to ask someone for the table back when they hadn't even been there for 1 hour seems strange. If there had been a sign saying you could only have the table for a certain amount of time I might understand... Again, everything about the experience was good up until that point. read more

Amazing dinner at Mis Tierras Colombianas. Went with a couple Colombian people and they loved it. They were very satisfied with the authenticity. The whole restaurant was also decorated in Colombian decor. The drinks had a little Colombia flag in them too. The food was delicious. The portions are humongous. Going in I was ready to take some home as leftovers. The bandeja paisa is always my go-to at a Colombian place. The variety your getting in that dish is perfect. Overall, super satisfied. Came here with my family (three adults and a baby). The restaurant added an automatic 18% gratuity even though the policy clearly says it's only for parties of six or more -- and they even wrote "thank you" in Sharpie over that part to hide it. When we asked, the staff claimed it was "because it's Sunday," which is not true or written anywhere. We had no issue tipping, but the dishonesty and attitude were unacceptable. To make it worse, a server walked by and whispered "how embarrassing" as we left. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing -- check your bill carefully if you go here read more

Absolutely love this spot!! I've been going there for 1-2 years now and the service, food and vibes are great. I highly recommend their breaded fish dish that comes with rice, fries and a side salad. It has been years since I've visited one of the neighborhoods where I've lived for about two years. The great part of moving anywhere is checking out the food, and most importantly eating. Me having never eaten here was only ten blocks away. Well it was finally rectified with my bestie and daughter in tow. My best friend in the world was craving steak plus she's expecting, so she shall get what she wishes lol This is the jackpot for carnivore lovers. There is a cornucopia of meat options that would make you bring the blood pressure pills just to keep the heart afloat. Parking can be challenging, so keep that in mind, as the governor/mayor wants people to do without cars by using public transportation. They have been eliminating parking spots with their citibikes all over nyc. It was a late lunch around 2:30 when we all arrived. The restaurant was half full, and our waitress approached our table with menus once we chose a table. There was a slight language barrier issue when explaining the egg yolk to be cooked all the way, but our waitress was a champ and immediately fixed it right away for my friend. Chicken fingers and fries was ordered for her daughter, bistec a caballo (steak in creole sauce topped with egg in addition to the rice and beans) for the bestie, and I opted for the bandeja paisa ( grilled beef, pork skin, sausage, egg, corn cake, sweet plantain, rice, beans, and avocado. The meats give me the meat sweat! I highly recommend to cut up pieces of everything to try to fit it all on the fork to eat at the same time. Their rice and beans was just delicious, and it will not give you flatulence lol. The grilled beef and sausage was just flavorful and great with their green sauce. Their chicharron was ok. The tip was deep fried which was meaty, crispy and crunchy, but once the top was eaten all that was left was chunks of fat in the center. The sweet plantain, avocado, and egg all married well with the meats, and rice with beans. The sweet and salty with a kick of hot sauce made me just do a food dance while seated. It's always great to go with more than one person, because sharing is caring when different entrees are ordered lol. The besties steak was tender and dressed with yummy creole sauce. The potatoes were a nice touch. Overall a very good dining experience and we will be back! read more

Come hungry. If there's anything you retain here, is that the portions are ginormous! Great for party size, family meals, Sunday dinner. Every dish can serve 2, with leftovers for the next 2 days, easy. Best item I tried was the cream seafood casserole, tons of seafood pieces, hearty broth, delicious, perfect for that chilly day when you need to warm your soul. Next up is their typical platter, the Bandeja Paisa, the ultimate meats lover dish! Its got everything, beef, chicharron (best part), chorizo, eggs, avocado, rice and beans! Next tier dishes are the grilled sirloin (excellent presentation with the sizzling hot plate, though some parts of the meat was a little tough), the gigantic flat breaded chicken (almost the size my face, mostly good but some parts dry), and the rotisserie chicken (don't be greedy, 1/4 is more than enough, not the juiciest I've had but very good, 10x better than grocery store ones). All 3 were good, huge portions as you can see. Fries are superb here, very enjoyable. Rice and bean sides are ok, I would skip if dining solo as you get overly full. Or swap with fries if you can. Their chicken consommé was very clean and pure, great chicken flavor. As for dessert, Tres leches cake was excellent but share it! It was too heavy for me, sadly I left 2 bites on the table. Great restaurant overall, tons of staff, open til late, there's always a lively atmosphere. You'll definitely have a good time and meal. read more

There are a dime a dozen Colombian establishments all throughout Queens, but Mis Tierras Colombianas has gotten the closest to my foodgasm'ing experiences in the motherland. I am pretty confident I could eat here every day since they have so much good stuff. Like many restaurants along this stretch of Roosevelt, it's long and narrow with plenty of seating. During the pre-COVID days, it wasn't uncommon for them to have live music and a packed house on a weeknight. The bustling service was always on point and their bar was a good spot to sit at for a drink and a mean meal. The food is fairly typical in terms of their offerings and while they do a good job on most everything, I think their meat game is their strength. Their meats and platters are worthy of every bite, especially the skirt steak ($24) and their parrillada platter ($34). At $17, the bandeja paisa isn't exactly a bargain but it is definitely is filling. A platter with rice, beans, carne asada, chicharron, egg, avocado, and chorizo it makes for a very hearty option almost always. I personally enjoy this location more than their previous Astoria one. The Woodside one is really does well with a local crowd and there really isn't much (good) competition in terms of Colombian anything in Woodside, so I'm hoping they stay for awhile and keep all of us well fed and happy. read more

Unlike many joints under the thundering 7, this place is well-lit, updated, CLEAN, and relatively spacious inside. There is a shed too, but you know - the 7. Ordered BANDEJA PAISA for pick up ($19). They said 10mins, i got there in 15 and it was bagged up and waiting. Enough for two. Half link of good quality CHORIZO nicely browned as was the plantain and crispy CHICHARRON, but fairly standard. BEANS stood out from other Colombian places nearby. These were viscously soupy (lardy?) and well-seasoned. Surprisingly to me, the STEAK was the star. I am usually partial to American-style cuts and temps (thick and med-rare), and at first glance I did not expect to like the paper-thin steak at all, let alone love it. It is a wide, long steak-um slice with grill marks and more flavor than should be from a wisp of beef. The thin cut keeps it tender despite the harsh cooking technique. (I noticed my receipt listed steak as med-rare -impossible). read more

Made an order for delivery. Great service from the lady that took the order. Delivery was fast. The food was good and the portion was enough. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because the skin of the pork roin (chicharrón) was not crunchy, it was rather chewy. Taste was great. Would order again. read more

We used to go to the old location in Astoria but now that they moved to Woodside we checked it out for dinner and love it still. The vibe is great, felt like we were in another country. They workers wear a green T-shirt and white pants and hats. They have multiple tv's with soccer on and a full bar. The food is just as god as we remember it but the green sauce here they only give it to you in these little plastic sauce containers. In Astoria they gave it to us in a big glass ramekin. The food came out fast. The service was ok. Our waitress forgot to get us water and our check after we asked for it or maybe she didn't hear us because it was a little loud. Highly recommend getting the Bandeja Paisa platter eat grilled steak, chicharron, avocado slice, fried egg, rice and beans. read more

Wow. This meal is probably the best $25 I've ever spent. I ordered the Mis Tierras Special platter. The carne asada is a good sized cut and very tender. The same with the cut of grilled pork loin. The roasted chicken breast is probably some of the best you'll ever order. Full of flavor and juicy! My favorite part of the meal is the fried pork skin! Especially dipping it in the chimichurri sauce! I substituted the fries for a fried egg to eat my beans and rice with. There's also a side salad included. $25!!! Oh yeah, order the apple soda!! It's so good! The service was quick and the staff is super friendly. The dining area in the restaurant is spaced out perfectly and you just feel safe eating there because the restaurant is so clean.
