Picked up food here during a late night. Nobody was there but the music was blaring. I got a burrito bowl with shrimp and chaulafan with seafood. The food was delicious but prices are a bit high. The seafood was not overcooked. The chaulafan was flavorful and contained a good amount of seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid) and it wasn't rubbery at all! I had been wanting to go to D'Antigua for years. I almost did one time the place was crowded, and it seemed more like a club so I walked away. Last week, a friend and I were looking for a place to get a few drinks and we bumped into D'Antigua. At first, I thought it was D'Antigua but the owner, Ivan, who was our waiter later explained that the section we were in is called D'Spirit (they are not on Yelp yet so I am leaving the review under D'Antigua.) Ivan said that the place ha pretty new and that he is working on a full menu which is why they are not on Yelp yet. D'Spirit is the VIP section of D'Antigua during the weekends. The two places are right next to each other, and one can enter the other through a sliding door. They play different music than in D'Antigua and have a different vibe. D'Spirit is an amazing spot, I cannot wait to go back. I had the Arepa Bites in the three flavors they offer (Chicken, Carnitas, and Veggies) they all come loaded with mozzarella cheese, lettuce and guacamole with a Ginger ale followed by a shot of the Tequila of the house. The Arepa Bites were delicious! My friend had two Hennessey with Red Bull, and then a shot of Hennessey on the rocks. In the end, Ivan offered us some free shots, which was nice of him. The atmosphere at this place was divine. When we walked in the place was empty, it was perfect for a Wednesday night. Then more people walked in to eat, and the food they ordered looked great, I cannot wait to try their full-size meals, lol. This place is lively. Although the restaurant side is small it is attached to a large hall/lounge that has a bar and a dance floor. We came here at 10:37 pm on a Tuesday. It was quiet in terms of the flow of customers but the Spanish music was loud and happy. My sister and I ordered the steak and chicken arepa and tostones with guacamole. The tostones were made nicely: Flat with a nice bite and no oily residue. They were enjoyable. I do wish more guac came with the order though, but it was a fair amount. I just love guac. The arepa was delicious. The meat was grilled and had some spices on it but it was not drenched in any sauce. It's a nice change from other places. The arepa itself was warm and soft but still held itself together. It wasn't chewy or hard around the edges. The cilantro sauce was creamy and fresh but I really enjoyed the hot sauce. It was thick and didnt have a burn your mouth effect but left a nice pinch. That kind of painful tease on the tongue is seductive and I had to finish the arepas just to use the sauce. Came here on a Sat. evening. No cover charge, the DJ is good he played a little bit of everything even "The Twist" . Some songs he only played the first 1minute and moved to the next song especially during his Hip-Hop set. The latin music is played at normal time so you can dance. I ordered una picada which was great for 6 people. The server said 4 people. The server was not too welcoming but attentive. The music was loud so maybe the communication caused confusion. We sat at a booth and to my suprise they did not charge a table fee or a must order bottles kind of thing which is great. We did order a lot of drinks and food. They have a fog machine which you cant see anybody at a certain point. The prices are reasonable. They were out of Aguila beer :( upsetting if its a Colombian lounge. As soon as we walked in the waiters greeted us. In Spanish. It's ok. The crowd was all Hispanic, so it makes sense. Eistehr way they were very attentive and constantly checked up on us in an non annoying way. Music was pretty cool. Spanish rock I have never heard of, but soft enough to not make my head spin. After 9p they started playing more known Spanish hits. My beer was perfect, and the Jamaican something was pretty legit. Prices were decent. And it was super cozy, thought at 9 they turned on some disco lights. Lol. We ordered the fried ice cream and I was disappointed. Def not sam's fried ice cream. This ice cream was strawberry (not noted or specified so I was expecting vanilla) and it was all cold. I was expecting the exterior to be warmer and just "fried". This is a pretty interesting place to come to. It feels like an upscale lounge, but not as dark as those trendy places with snooty patrons. The clientele is pretty casual. My wife calls them "Hispsters" (Hispanic Hipsters), but leaning away from the homeless look. The venue was pretty cool. We did see a hard wood floor in front of the stage for some dancing, but that didn't really fit with the band we saw there. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because my food was good other then that this place is a mess first of all I am to celebrate my bestfriends birthday and when I walked in no one greeted me, my friends had already been seated so I just took a seat there was only one person working there at the time and it was 7:30 I had to ask for a menu I waited about 25/30 for my meal but it was worth it cuz it was good!! I'll give them that... after like 8/9 the place started getting fuller and more workers came!! NO ONE CHECKED ON OUR TABLE THE WHOLE TIME!!! We couldn't even find the waiter ever to a point I had to get up and walk around to find someone to help us!! The funniest thing about this place: They make the BEST Penne with Vodka Sauce I've ever had. Anyone who has been here will know what I'm talking about LOL This little lounge is located in the middle of a predominantly Spanish neighborhood. The atmosphere is perfectly chill and I love the red couches and lighting. But, again, you wouldn't expect this place to make some really banging Pasta. They do. This is a great little dive spot. The lack of reviews and popularity don't do this place justice. I got 3 tacos for myself and my friends got a whole bunch of stuff. The best thing by far, out of everything, was the Hawaiian burger!! The fruity ness worked real good with the burger. It added a caramelizing juiciness to it. Also the fries are real good. They have this freshness to them; who knows, maybe they are fresh. The service time was about 15-20 mins per entree. The only down side was that I had to go to the cashier to submit my order. It wasn't very clear if it was a waitering system or grab and dine. Regardless, I'll be back here. read more

I love the decor of this place! it has funky paintings from local artist that you can buy if your interested. they have big booths and couches for just lounging around and have a cocktail or even some coffee if you like. They play a a lot of spanish rock music which is fun! The have Karaoke some nights and live music on the weekends. They serve great food if your looking for a bite or a full meal. The drinks are inexpensive and the people are friendly and locals so they are cool! I love the lamp that is near the restrooms, It is a female mannequin with a lamp on its head its pretty funky and fun. Great place for groups or even an intimate date. read more

This place was better than I expected. My friends called me out there to check out their local band after being asked what seemed like hundreds of times. They had mexican thrash metal and some other local thrash which was decent. The cover was kind of expensive but I understand the place has to make money also. The drinks are where it was poor and forced me to take away 2 stars. The beers were $5 each which is kind of crazy. People were complaining that the drinks were expensive before even getting into the pace which could not be good. Apparently they was a way to purchase my entry online and it would have only been $10 but I had no idea at the time. The atmosphere was alright and it had a decent scene also. I was surprised to see so many metal heads out at night on northern blvd but it was pretty cool. I was happy this place brought me to see a lot of people I have not seen in a while. read more

I purchased an eventbrite ticket to see a band here, ticket said doors open at 7:00 pm. and band starts playing at 9:00 pm. I came on time directly from work which is far, only to see the doors closed. We had to wait until 8:45 outside waiting to enter. Once we were inside we found a small table and had to wait until 10:00pm only to find out that there are another two bands before the leading band (they never mentioned this in the flyers, nor the event ticket at the time of purchase, nor the door) First band started to play at 10:30, second band at 11:30, and the band that I paid to see (the only one announced in the advertising) starts at 12:30. The big reason I purchased the tickets was because of the time of the show "7-10pm" (and of course the band) I had other things to do, not to mention now I have to pay extra babysitting time just because your FAKE ADVERTISING. This feels like waste of my time (and my wife and friend's) because of the DISHONEST way to sell this event, bad customer service at its best. This was my first time here and of course my last. Decided to come here with my friends after our reservations to another place got canceled and I could not be any happier. This place is amazing! I love this place from when I first walked in. My good friend and I just wanted to go get drinks and have a good time. I search all over Yelp and decided to come here, Best decision! The server was awesome and well mannered. There is a live DJ that great. Most of the time they were playing Spanish music but a little reggae and pop. Remind you we are African American and we was on the dance floor dancing to every song having a good time. The set up is great as well they have tables and couches. I am amazed that this little place is not yet on the radar for good eats in Jackson Heights. It's basically a little cafe that targets the Colombian palate and does a great job at that I guess, because we see a lot of Colombians in here enjoying arepas, but what gets us in here on a regular basis are their tricked-out, tasty hot dogs. These ain't yo mamas hot dogs. They are smothered in accompaniments, and at first glance you might not even be able to spot the hot dog itself. They are all adorned with a good helping of mozzarella cheese, a special sauce (seems like at least mustard and catsup), crushed potato chips, and are served with a side of very good hand cut fries. We love the perro d'antigua, which adds bacon into the mix, and the choriperro which is the hot dog replaced by chorizo sausage. These are both awesome! The hamburgers are also pretty good too, generously sized, and with a tasty sauce that clearly shares an origin with the hot dog sauce. The cafe is connected with the neighboring D'Antigua bar, and it seems like you can order any of the food off the menu from the bar as well. It is definitely a great place for a quick, enjoyable meal and to experience something a little different, and they have free wi-fi. The only downside is that they sometimes seem a bit short-staffed and the service can sometimes be a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. read more

I go there at least once a week and all their food is made fresh, so there is a little wait time (but its absolutely worth the wait!!!). Their chicken quesadillas, totally recommend it (best i have ever eaten). Their fries are crisp and delicious.
