Noches de Colombia is actually a chain with several locations in the tri-state area. I recently ate at the Queens location. Their locations are not fancy and are the Colombian equivalent of American diners. This means a big menu with a bakery section too. While there are better Colombian places out there, I found this place to be decent. For example, the portion size of their Bandeja Paisa was huge and everything tasted fresh. The pastries (bunuelos and pan de bono) were also good quality and fresh. If you're looking for a Colombian place to take the family that serves everything, Noches de Colombia fits the bill. read more

Noches De Colombia - Bakeries Near Me - Flushing, New York

Location: Flushing NY Service: To go- quick and they were nice. Ambiance: could not tell much but it looked like a diner w few tvs on sports. Food: pork chicharon- which was so good. Churasco- like a skirt steak ( it was juicy and not too salty and enough tenderness) calamari- hmm not what i expected. Need more meat inside. But overall they are good for me. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. Came here on a Saturday with a party of 5 around 4:45 PM. Despite the place being relatively empty, we waited a bit to be seated. We were given an iPad each (to view the menu). When we asked for water they did not provide tapwater even though we asked for it and gave us a bottled water instead (that we had to pay for). After ordering the food it took approximately 30 minutes to arrive. The service was pretty slow. I ordered the carne asada with a side of frijoles since it only comes with white rice, sweet plantains and a potato. The meat itself was really hard to eat. It was very chewy and rough, not a good representation of Carne Asada. The white rice was just plain white rice. The potato had no seasoning on it, and the sweet plantains were super dry, which made them nasty and I couldn't even eat them. The beans had very little flavor or depth compared to other Colombian restaurants. There was no smoky or meat like savoriness, and it only had a very minimal hint of the usual aromatics. It also had a bit of a canned bean hint to it. Not very pleasant. Compared to other Colombian places I've had I would not come back to this place. read more

This spot was the Odyssey Diner years ago, then became Mela's Café, a Dominican restaurant and is now a Noches de Colombia, a local chain of Colombian restaurants. I've been to the one in Port Chester and the look is very similar with bright lights, large TV screens and a bar. They spent a lot in printing the menus which is huge and all color pictures, so you know what you're ordering with big sections for appetizers, salads, chicken, seafood & steak. Their latin cuisine has shared similarities to others like Dominican, Cuban, Brazilian & Peruvian, but with unique Colombian qualities to the meat and seafood dishes. Noches also has their own bakery on the premises making the fresh breads, pastries & cakes in their display case. On a Thursday night, 3 of us came in for dinner and spent some time going through the menu. We started with the Mini Picadita platter as an appetizer and it was not small by any means with mini chicken empanadas, sliced chorizo, chicharron, grilled chicken & steak, potatoes, tostones & cassava. It would have been a whole meal by itself. The grilled chicken & steak slices were very tender and tasty. There are even bigger Picadita appetizer plates if you have an even bigger appetite or more people to share with. For entrees, my son went with the Pechuga Marinera, a big slice of chicken fillet topped with shrimp and a savory cream sauce and it came with maduros and choice of 2 sides and he got rice and more tostones. He was barely able to finish. My wife ordered the Mar y Mar, grilled fish fillet topped with shrimp and creamy wine sauce, but with 1 side for her which was a "small" salad. It was a very fresh and tasty salad. For myself, I had the Filete a la Plancha con Camarones, similar to my wife's fish & shrimp minus the sauce and got a big inverted cup of white rice with mine. The fish fillet was expertly grilled, but the large shrimp (5) looked like they were poached (steamed?) but retained their flavor. We're also given 3 different sauces for dipping: a white sauce, a pink sauce and a spicy sauce. The pink sauce was very good with the shrimp. Because of the size of the dishes, we ended up taking part of the Picadita home with half of my wife's entree. My dish was perfect for me and I polished it off. We definitely will have to come back to try the rest of the menu (and baked goods), which will probably take at least a dozen more visits! read more

We went on a Tuesday night and much to my surprise, this place was pretty empty. Our friends recommended this place so we stayed and tried the food. We opted for the Pernil and the ox tail as our entrees. Both dishes were very tasty. The ox tail could have been cooked a little longer so it is more tender. After the main, we opted for dessert too. Much to our dismay, they did not have flan!! We settled for the tres leche. It was not as sweet and milky as we preferred. Other than that, we enjoyed the place. Festive for the holiday and decor was colorful too. Service was okay. No recommendation. It's all good they said . We would definitely come back again. The menu had so many things we want to try. Want to try the ribs next time! read more

Honestly I used to love this place but since the new management it's been different. I bought 2 empanadas and they wanted to charge me a dollar for a tiny cup of sauce. I've bought empanadas from a lot of places and they always come wt a sauce. Then I bite my empanada and there's barely any meat in it this place is a scam. They are alrdy over priced but now that's just being greedy. read more

The food is tasty even though it is too salty , specially their soups and rice. The prices are high for the area but overall it has a good lunch and family meal choice.. read more

I like to come here for lunch since it is close to my job and they have a great lunch special. For $12.95 you can get pernil, rice, salad, potato, beans, and sweet plantains. It is a great portion of food for the price. The food is also delicious. This place was recently renovated and changed their name from Mela's to Noches De Colombia. The inside of the restaurant looks really nice and vibrant. The waitresses are all really friendly. I definitely recommend to come and try the food. read more

My first time here and really liked it ! Love having a Colombian spot nearby since it's kind of limited/rare in our Kew Garden Hills/ Briarwood neighborhood. I had a few of the bakery goods: buñuelos, pan de bono, arepa de choclo con queso, the empanadas, empanada de cambray, and two postobons. Everything was delish !! The empanadas de pollo y carne were super fresh. The arepa very fluffy with a slight crust on top. It came with shredded cheese I prefer the slab the cheese but either way still very good. Service was great- cashiers very pleasant. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated for the holiday time. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I ordered a few platters of food for my Halloween party, and the food was a huge hit. The empanadas were soooo good. Also had chicken, beef stew and maduros. Everything was super good and helped to make my party a blast. They were also very helpful with packaging everything and carrying it to my car. I'll be back again next time I'm catering an event. read more

Not worth coming here. I've been to multiple location and I was excited to have a noches in queens. The service was awful, after waiting for 40 min. I get told they have an inspection and it will take longer. Seriously? Just unacceptable. Next time give the customer the options of wanting to wait. Don't waste your time at this location. It will give all the rest a bad name. read more

The coconut mojito is one of the best drinks served at Noches de Colombia but this location, they do a terrible job. It was way too lemony. The food was good, but this is the 4th Noches I've been to, and this was the worst. Wouldn't recommend. The waitresses were nice enough but the waiters were stand-offish. It wasn't very welcoming. read more

This place is across from NYCHA Pomonok projects. Gets very little traction throughout the week. They keep changing their name however the same people work inside. The food is overpriced always boring equal to the staffs personality. Don't let the new decor and menu fool you.
