I have never taken the time to write a review until today. This place is the worst restaurant you can ever order from, it's ran by a bunch of morons to put it nicely. Placed an order of 83$...TWO BANDEJA PAISAS, colombiana soda, smoothie with milk and side orders. Food comes and first mistake is that we got the smoothie with water..... fine that's not so bad but then we open our food order. It's not steak...it's PORK. I called the restaurant to see if they had sent me the wrong order and they said "we didn't have steak so we sent you pork chops" They also said "we didn't have milk so we made the smoothie with water" Making the smoothie with water is understandable... but to send me a completely different meat is something I've never heard of and to do this without even consulting with the consumer is NOT okay. We didn't even get a call to ask if this was ok, because if this was the case I would've cancelled the order and ordered elsewhere. On top of this everything that came with the bandeja paisa was disgusting.... The food looked like it was cooked days ago and they just threw it in the microwave. The beans smelled rancid..who knows when the last time they actually changed those containers. And to top it all off, the Manager was absolutely no help. As I'm explaining the situation she goes "get to the point" and then proceeds to tell me that the workers don't know how to use a phone to call the costumers. I have never experienced this kind of disrespect.. what about the people that have food restrictions, allergies or even religious restrictions when it comes to food? They have the audacity to just replace and send whatever left over meat they have in their fridge. I should've read the reviews before ordering. Omgosh this place is yummy. The reason for three stars is because they take forever to deliver and I'm literally up the block from them. Also they don't make the Chicharrones Del Pollo the way I'm accustom to. After doing my research it's a Dominican style of preparing fried chicken chunks. My friend and I usually order from here when we want a delicious bite to eat. Their beef stew with rice and Maduros never disappoints. Sometimes the beans are a hit or miss. On 12/11/19, I had a recent mishap with Los Bucaros. I placed an order for Bistec Encebollado via Grubhub. I was told I'll receive my order by 7:15, but it never came. I tried contacting the restaurant three times to check the status of my order. The restaurant didn't pick up the phone and I was unable to get in contact with anyone. I contacted customer service via Grubhub to cancel my order. They also tried calling but they were unable to reach anyone as well. 45 mins later a man shows up with my order. I am truly unhappy with the service and the failure of the restaurant to update me on the status of my order. The food is delicious but waiting 1.5 hours for food has left a sour taste in my mouth. When we enter (me and my partner) no one greeted us so we asked if we can sit anywhere, the cashier/server/host said "yes" and gave us ONE menu for both of us, I order a cubano sandwich which came less than 6-8 mins wrapped in a plastic lol, the meat was chewy & hard to eat. My boyfriend ordered narco which he needed to pour so much sauce so it can taste "good". The price was extremely affordable, I guess you pay what you get. I really wanted to give this place a higher rating but they are too inconsistent with their food. The first time I got the picada I fell in love and decided to make this my go to Colombian restaurant. The second time I got picada, instead of the marinated thinly sliced steak they gave me steak that was nothing but gristle. The plantains were substituted with potatoes. Who does that to picada??!! The first few times I got the garlic chicken it was heavenly. The last time I got it there was absolutely no flavor. Used to be great, and I ordered on a weekly basis. But the last 4 times the order went wrong. 1st time: in the bandeja paisa, burnt meats. Either burnt or re heated or old. 2nd time: gave it a chance. Same issue. 3rd time: I ordered a juice and received a margarita. Same color as the juice I ordered. I noticed it was alcohol when I tasted it. Huge problem is, I am allergic to agave which is in all tequilas. My tongue slightly swelled up just on a single sip. I called and complained and they blamed the delivery guy. It's the responsibility of the establishment to ensure the delivery guy takes the correct order. Girl on the phone wanted it back to give it to the right people and I was outraged, you CANNOT give it to someone else under normal circumstances, plus, I tasted it, but ESPECIALLY during a global PANDEMIC. Terrible service. I placed a delivery order today that took almost 2 hours!!!! And I lived literally two blocks away from the place. They told me delivery will take 35-40min never one hour and 40min. When I called within an hour, they told me my order had already left to give it 5min. After 35min more I called to cancel to then been informed that the delivery guy had forgpt my order in the restaurant!!! I said forget it cancel it, I don't want it. When I still didn't get my order at 7 PM, I had my husband call - the lady that picked up was EXTREMELY rude. When we told her that we didn't receive the order - her exact words in Spanish was - Oh, that's bad for you. Are you serious?! I can understand if they were delayed or if the delivery boy was late, but to be blatantly rude and you're already late with my food. That's unacceptable. We've ordered from here before, I guess I should've learned my lesson- fish wise! I ordered on GrubHub & got the fish filet. I requested (in Spanish) yellow rice. My bf got the bandeja paisa ($12). When the order came, the rice was white & my fish looked burned. It was only 1 piece for $9.50. I called & asked what happen? The lady (barely spoke English) said they don't make yellow rice & she'd send me a new fish which was a nice gesture. UNTIL...the delivery guy shows up an hour later at 7:45pm with a new fish & asks for the old 1. I've been to this place twice; 1st Time - I was greeted by a rude cashier (which is odd because Colombians are usually cordial and respectful). I decided to ignore her attitude as I wanted to try the food. I even tipped before receiving my food in hopes it would change her attitude towards me to no avail. The food was great though. 2nd Time - I returned two days later to order food for a small party I was hosting. This time, I wasn't even able to order because said cashier decided to ignore me as I stood in front of her. Odd indeed. Maybe she found my looks offensive, who knows. It was somewhat greasy- but the food was still really good and plentiful. This recent trip- I noticed that the prices have increased- and portions decreased. The steak was small- just "Ok" in flavor- I basically paid $10+ for mostly white/bland rice. Even the cup of beans were small. Overall portions too small- not worth the price. This appears to be a common thread among most of the restaurants- in this area.
