Everything we've tried is the best. The best breads, especially pan de Bono. Love their empanadas. They make a great cake their as well that we've gotten for birthdays. They're quick to serve and friendly. Love this place and buy from them atleast once a week. read more

The dish served was not consistent with the presentation shown in the menu photos, I'm not exaggerating, ita probably half of what is in the plate. When we received the food my father in law went to ask about the plantain since it was not even the half of the plantain yet the photo had the entire plantain. The small piece of plantain was cut in half, so when my father in law went to tell the person in the counter which I'm assuming is the manager, the manager said, "You want me to glue them together?" He was so shocked at the response that he walked away but I found it so disrespectful and unprofessional. My advice to the manager, is fix your deceiving menu pictures and charge a fair price for the small plates you serve but most importantly learn to be a manager, a leader, and learn manners. That is not the best answer you could've given a customer. And lastly, I will never recommend the lunches and dinners here. Bakery is good, fair, and easy to not mess up in. read more

I been going here for years. Yesterday I took my boss here for lunch and the night before we had gone out for dinner at another restaurant . We ate the same dish which was the entraña. We had the entraña cooked medium it was cooked perfectly and presentation was great.. steak was brought in a cask iron pan which kept the steak nice and warm. My boss stated he will definitely go back again read more

What a staple to the community! I recently moved to Jamaica and one of the highlights I was excited for was knowing I'd be a walking distance from Punto Rojo. A wide variety of Colombian pastries in the front and if your hungry for what taste like moms cooking, take a seat in the back and indulge! It's a yes 100% if your in the neighborhood read more

I was excited to try Punto Rojo while on vacation because I love Colombian breakfast and had heard good things. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment we sat down, the staff treated us poorly -- we received rude looks and dismissive attitudes. We had multiple servers who seemed confused about our table and the bill, and it felt like we were being questioned as if we weren't going to pay, which was insulting. After paying, I ordered a cholado to go. I was clearly waiting for it with my receipt in hand, yet when I walked out, the owner stopped me in a rude and confrontational way demanding to see the receipt, as if I was trying to steal. I showed the receipt, but by then the experience was already ruined. On top of the service issues, the restaurant did not appear clean -- there were flies around our table. I left feeling disrespected and embarrassed, and I will not be returning. I don't recommend this place based on my experience. read more

I usually come here for empanadas and I thought they were good until I discovered a place nearby that has even better ones. However, when it comes to the baked pastries, they are pretty good. read more

Punto Rojo has been around for quite some time, and I used to order from them regularly, both dining in and for delivery. While I haven't tried their baked goods, one dish they consistently get right is the mini bandeja paisa. It features grilled steak and chicharrón, served with a fried egg, beans, avocado, and arepa. Absolutely delicious! read more

Food is amazing empanadas ate remarkable and overall the place is amazing and service is amazing

Today I stop buy one of my favorite restaurants punto rojo. Glad to see they were open during this pandemic. The restaurant was getting a lot of business .and the customers were practicing social distancing. Which is the way to go now and days. I haven't been here in a while, but the food is still delicious, they give you large portions of food for a decent price.the bag was pretty heavy .This restaurant has some of the best Latin food around. From there pastries to their yellow rice and grilled salmon .I tell you this spot is still a top 5 latino restaurant in queens or maybe even in NYC hands down. The food is fresh the restaurant is clean, plus the staff is very friendly and courteous. So shout out to all the staff at punto rojo one of my favorite restaurants in queens. For holding it down during this really crazy time in NYC. read more

So, I stopped going a few years ago for the same reason, I was around the area last Saturday and thought, let me give them another try and it looks like nothing has changed. I am posting a picture because we'll, one image/picture is worth a thousand words. The "churrasco argentino" mmmmmm was half fat, half meat drowning in some kind of broth. I don't know in what part of argentina they cook the meat like that, I am guessing nowhere but anyways. read more

Four stars for the dulce de leche cake. It was delicious but in my opinion expensive for a small (feeds 10 ppl) cake. $35.00 Thankfully it fed well over ten people & had left over. Don't know why the measure cakes that way here instead of referring to them by lbs. she could have been a little neater writing out HB. Pic provided. Enjoy read more

Punto rojo have the best almojábanas and arepa de choclo con queso. Good coffee" always black no sugar" good service always fast and Easy to pick up and go. read more

Make sure when you order for pick up, you get your full order. I order a plate that comes with avocado and when it got here there was no avocado. The girl did not even tell me when I placed the order or even when I picked it up. I called to let her know they are missing a part of the order and she said "oh yeah the avocados have gone bad". SUCH a shady business practice, it is important to be transparent. I pay for a full order at-least be honest, no when a costumer calls to ask about the rest. I will not visit this establishment again. read more

Good place right on hillside ave. They have seating in the back. Service was fast. I got the pork chicharrons and it was a delight.

Great place! Service was quick and waitress were friendly. Affordable prices with generous portion so come with an empty stomach. My friend recommend me the bandeja paisa. It came with rice, beans, fried pork belly, corn cake, steak, eggs, and sweet plantain. I couldn't finish it so I packed it to go. I would come back again to try the other stuff on the menu. read more

The food here is yummy! Love the bakery area.... best arepas and Chicharons!!! However, I was not satisfied with my Ceasar salad!! For $14.95 all I got was some grilled chicken on top of plain iceberg and Thousand Island dressing on the side!!! I had to get home and sprinkle my own Parmesan cheese after spending 15$ bucks.... not cool! If you advertise your salad as a Ceasar, then you have to have the right cheese and dressing! Had this not happened they would get five starts from me... but unfortunately the salad brought my experience down. read more

Place makes real good empanadas, and Ofcourse my favorite cholado. I am giving the amount of stars because though the food is good the males that work there make such an uncomfortable setting, the way their service is given would make you want to walk away and as per the females they are awesome but seem scared of the male figure in ten restaurant. As I tried to purchase a cholado of my preferences and he kept giving her a deadly stare. Just uncomfortable. But great food. read more

I used to love this place until I saw roaches in the glass display where they keep their arepa, breads and empanadas. I showed the manager and he shrugged his shoulders and didn't even offer to give me a refund until after I asked for it. I've spoken to multiple people from the neighborhood who've confirmed with me that they've seen the roaches too. Once you see a few roaches you know that there's more there but they continue to operate without taking any measures to resolve the infestation. They don't care about the customer they just want to make money by selling Vermin-infested breads to you and your family. read more

Came here on a Sunday evening and there were tables available. This place is a bakery and a restaurant. The food was very tasty, especially the rice and beans. It's really hard to find a place that makes good beans. The portions are HUGE! My husband and I could've shared an order. The service was just ok. The waitress forgot to bring us our salads but we were totally ok with that because the food was delicious. The prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get! I don't recommend coming to this neighborhood but if your here check this place out. I love their strong hot Colombian coffee. I had no problem ordering on English and there were no lines at 2pm. The lady recommended the cheese bread and Tres leches cake, and both was absolutely delicious! I would definitely stop by next time if I'm in the neighborhood to try out other baked goods or even try their restaurant items. Plenty of seating and friendly staff. read more

I eat here regularly. The food is always fresh and the prices are good. They are always nice and even though I don't speak Spanish they bare along with me and most of the girls are friendly. The prices are good for large portions. I love the fresh juice they offer just like in Colombia. I've never had anything I didn't like from the kitchen but I'm not crazy about most of their cakes. The Colombian Carmel cake is yummy (I always order it for special occasions), and tres leche cake is delicious. The sangria is AMAZING! It's very strong but the taste doesn't suffer. They also have excellent coffee and arepas. This place is a must try if you haven't been here yet. read more

This place is very pleasing to the eyes. When you walk in the display at the counter is filled with all sorts of Colombian pastries and treats! So anyways the first time I went there was to order a cake. I went to a friend's party and her cake was from punto rojo and it was insanely delicious. So I placed the order for my cake with a little bit of difficulty because no one there speaks english. I came to pick up the cake and my name was misspelled on the cake! I pointed the mistake out to them and they double checked the receipt and realized the misspelling. The cake emerged a few minutes with my name corrected but in a different shade of green icing. At this point I just shook my head and walked out. I knew how delicious it would be so I didn't really about the minor mistake on the outside. I will def continue to go there because the food is delicious. I just gotta brush up on my Spanish! read more

Arepas de choclo tasted like they were infused with chemicals or something. Ended up throwing mine away for breakfast. Disappointed.

Good food typical Columbiana pastries, cakes, and dishes, a variety, coffee, soda, delicious local bread and sweets, the price is not what I expected, a lil pricey but depends on what your ordering...by the way they have self service coffee..lol. I came in to get a batch of the empanadas which I had previously at a party because of how crunchy the corn is and delicious the meat is inside when you pour some green sauce on it. But the 5 stars are for how welcoming the staff is and polite they were to me. I came out feeling better than before i came in. My interaction with the lasted no more than 2 minutes, which was enough to put a smile on my face and start my day alright. Empanadas + the people = dope experience. read more

Why isn't there a negative star rating? This is what this bakery deserves. First incident. My husband has a gluten allergy so I figured his safest bet was an arepa de choclo. The waitress assured him there was no wheat in the arepa. He even had the waitress check with the baker and no wheat. WRONG!!!! There was wheat in the arepa. He brought a sample of the product and as soon I bit into it, I knew this arepa contained wheat flour in it. Why lie and take the risk of getting someone sick. Are you that greedy? So I tell hubby never to go back, but he does because he's always on the road and this time, he orders an empanada de cambrai. Why not? They looked plump and freshly baked. After he pays and he's well on his way, he opens the bag only to find a flat, stiff and unappetizing empanada de cambrai. The lovely waitress place all the fresh products in the front and the old ones on the back of the tray. People beware!!!!! These irresponsible Money hungry bakery are unscrupulous, greedy ($&@{}#%* Ps. Have you ever tasted cat food? Try their empanadas de pollo; fresh out of the can. Yuck!!!! Never again!!!!! read more

Punto Rojo catered my party and it was delicious. The roasted chicken, yellow rice and beans were plentiful with leftovers galore. The sweet plantains were not many and not enough for everyone. Aside from that, my only complaint is that they only gave two tiny tablespoons of salad dressing ( i did ask for dressing for the salad and hot sauce. They gave two cup containers of hot sauce which was the right amount so not sure what happened with the salad dressing ) It is a great place for lunch or dinner. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very nice. The tres leches cake is my favorite. Highly recommend and will be returning. read more
