First time trying El Gustazo. Y me Gustó!!! Nice little spot. The service was great and quick!! I have had bandeja Paisas all over. Colombia, all around New York and Florida. Even over seas and this would be one of the better ones. Everything on the plate was packed with flavor. Beans were cooked perfectly. Definitely will go back when in the Flushing area.

Bacon, Egg and Bread - A close-up image of a sandwich featuring crispy bacon strips, scrambled eggs, and slices of white bread. The sandwich is assembled with the bread forming the outer layers, and the bacon and eggs visible in the center. The food is served on a white plate, with some egg remnants visible around the sandwich.

Great place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Love the window seating in the morning. Overall food is delicious and tasty. They serve fresh OJ which is amazing. Overall service is great as well, they are quick to take your order and serve you.

Colombian Soda $2 - A yellow soda can with a blue eagle logo and red text reading 'Colombiana la nuestra' is positioned on a white table. The background shows a window with parked cars outside and part of a person wearing a beige sweater and black chair. The can's design emphasizes Colombian branding and traditional beverage imagery.

We wanted to try something new and came across this spot in Flushing. When we entered at 11 am, the restaurant was packed. We ordered a Colombian Soda, one chicken empanada, one beef empanada, Huevos Pericos con Arepa, Queso y Mantequilla, and Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos. The Colombian Soda was different from popular flavors in the US; it had a bubblegum flavor to it. The salsa that came with the empanadas was amazing. It had a little spice to it and just hit the spot. The salsa was so addicting. The eggs in both dishes were great, but overall the Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos stood out more. The steak in the Calenteado con Carne a la Plancha y Pericos was flavorful and a nice piece. Overall, we would go back to try other menu items and their empanadas and salsa again. Their menu featured a variety of different dishes, as well as special dishes depending on the day of the week.

If you're looking for a cheap, quick, filling meal, this is your place! Nothing fancy here. Most of the customers look like regulars, coming in from a mid day break from hard labor to get a hearty meal to keep them going through the rest of their day. The food seems very authentic, and judging by their customers, it's probably the best you're going to get in the area. The space is small and a bit dingy, but you don't come here for the decor. I got the meat platter and empanadas to share among two people which was plenty. The platter came with chicharon, steak, rice and beans, sweet plaintains, and corn cakes. Also had the beef and cheese empanadas which I really liked. The chicharon needed to be fried a touch longer because it was very chewy since the fat wasn't rendered long enough. The rice and beans were very satisfying and my bf liked the thin steak even though I'm usually not a fan. Altogether, the meal came out to about $17 and we left stuffed. I'd come back to try their soups that other customers looked like they were enjoying.

This is a really special place for me, I made a memory here. I just came by this place with my friend and its our favorite place. The arroz con pollo was so good and it was just seasoned nicely. The empanadas are a MUST! They're so good and they were seasoned just right, the chicken empanadas are one of the best things they have here. Their chicken soup was also really good. The staff were friendly. We tipped extra at this place because of how good the food was, its good quality cheap food! :) You won't dislike this place, its a literal hole in the wall.

Breakfast was good . Had the calentado with steak and huevo pericos. Coffee was on point too. Definitely a hole in the wall with amazing food and the staff and cooks were friendly .

Excellent service and friendly staff. I'm obviously not from the area and they went above and beyond to make me feel like a regular. Definitely going to go back soon!!

Good to have some Colombian food in flushing to differentiate from the Asian dishes. $15 for bandeja paisa is my goto.

I'm not going to pretend that I am the best person to determine what an authentic Colombian experience is (never had the pleasure of visiting Colombia), but if this isn't it, I can't imagine what they're missing. The staff speaks to you in Spanish exclusively, which made me glad one of my boys is Honduran. The TVs all over the place are playing what appear to be Colombian music videos that were made in the 80s featuring old men and attractive young women. They've got buckets of Colombian beer and frosted mugs so cold that the beer turned to slush around the sides. They've got a platter called the Bandeja la Berraca that consists of rice, beans, steak, plantains, eggs, avocado salad, little corn cakes, blood sausage, other sausage (amazing), and a giant side of chicharron. Eat and drink to you're bursting, while adorable Colombian kids run around the place. And rejoice that you live in NYC, where these things can be had.

We also ordered a refajo (It's a traditional Colombian cocktail made with beer and "Colombiana", which is a soda from Colombia. It is a very simple and quick recipe but refreshing) I wanted to try their chicken and boy oh boy their chicken was so flavorful. I definitely recommend their roasted chicken. My boyfriend and I shared the bandeja paisa which is a typical Colombian dish. It was so filling; everything on that plate tasted good. I really liked the beans and the chicharron; the chicharron wasn't hard to chew which I have experienced before at other Colombian restaurants. It was a lively restaurant experience, there were a good amount of tables filled up and as our main entree arrived I realized it was because the Colombian soccer team had a game going on at the time I was dining at the restaurant. Great restaurant to watch a soccer game over some yummy food. The service from the staff was friendly and the ambiance was top notch. The restaurant went wild when the Colombian soccer team scored. All in all, this is an amazing restaurant. 10/10 experience and restaurant recommendation

Because these arepas were different, but enjoyable…read more --- --- --- To-date, I apparently have only had Venezuelan arepas and wasn't aware of how different Colombian arepas were. Colombian arepas (or at least the ones here) come with a sweet, corn tortilla and are more open faced: to be eaten with a fork. In the past, I've had flour tortillas that are designed more like a taco and eaten as a handheld. So despite the differences, I (and my friends) enjoyed our meal. Let the official record state, I ordered the arepas con queso with chorizo. We had plans to eat our way through Jackson Heights, but because a couple of the places we planned to visit were closed, we actually just mostly hung out here and enjoyed our arepas of the sweet and open-faced variety. It was a good afternoon.

Before this, if someone mentioned arepas, I probably would have confused them with pupusas, which I'd only seen at street fairs and thought of as more of a sweet item. I had no idea they came in savory versions too. I went with the carne asada arepa, and the beef was fresh, juicy, and cooked just right. It's so common for places to overcook little chunks of beef, but here it was perfect. Each arepa is big enough to split between two people, so the price feels very fair. The filling was generous, with beef packed inside and even overflowing out the sides. They also serve the arepas with a rack of five or six sauces to choose from. Some were spicy, and one had a sweet condensed milk flavor if you like a mix of sweet and savory. My go to ended up being this green mayonnaise sauce which I assumed was like some sort of a lime mayo, which added the perfect tartiness to the rich cheese filling.
