Two of my favorite things in life are street food and late night eats. Los Amigos Chimichurry happens to be both. It is a Latin icon in the borough and a bonafide post-nightlife option that has become a popular destination amongst locals. This has low-key become a favorite spot of mine to show visitors to Queens and a fabulous alternative for late night munchies in this part of Corona. The owner hails from Colombia and his crew of guys are bustling in a tiny food truck kitchen, cooking up variations of carne asada with tostones, salads, and rice. I've never seen a menu for this place and I've also never heard anyone speak English either. Es muy importante para comunicar en el español. It is strictly cash only and be prepared to wait during prime evening hours (1AM-3AM). My favorite combination is the carne frita, which is like a chunky Dominican style fried beef. While it's sauteed and not deep fried, the chimichurri condiment is readily available at the counter and is an essential component if mixed with the sides. Make sure an avocado is present and mix it up with the the moros (mixed rice) and tostones. The end result is a $10ish platter of late night goodness. While I sing their praises overall, I can't give them 5 stars for a number of reasons. Their carne asada platter is good, but more difficult to eat since their plastic knives don't do much with the meat. Parking for drivers is a zoo at times and folks are parking illegally just to get in line. Food is basic ingredients (rice, meat) but quality of meat is great and cooked so well. Very delicious. Chimi sauce is a MUST on your food. Ask for the Chimi sauce bottle at the counter and use that on your food instead of the small to-go sauces they offer you. Their ordering system needs to be more organized. There is no "front of the line" or any signage to direct customers to "pick up" or "order here". This simple solution would make going to this truck so much better. Be prepared - there is NO menu. I recommend going with someone who's been here before or use Yelp to figure out what you want to order. Overall, 7.5/10 for this place. read more

I'm not usually a fan of food trucks but I make an exception for Los Amigos. This is def the after club/late night spot - they're open from 9pm to 6am. Everything on the menu is absolutely fire and flavorful. My only gripe is ordering process; it's always been a hot mess which is why I had to dock a star. You don't really know where the line starts or ends or even if your food is ready. You can actually can call ahead and place the order and just pick it up when you get there which is super convenient. The parking situation is also a pain because most of the time you have to double park. BUT despite all this I put up with it because the food is truly amazing and authentic. If I can rate this a zero stars I would. No im not an entitled karen im a college student looking for a late night meal. First off it took forever (around 45 mins) but people who ordered after me got their food first. People (I assume friends with the owner) got food out of the back. I didnt even receive my food I just walked away at the 45 minute mark. The other times I went I waited around 30 minutes as well to get my food. It has no line organization and no order organization inside. Too bad the food isn't even that amazing for long wait. Also I got ridiculed for my Spanish pronounciations. On the bright side, this place is always jammin! So on my first trip, I really hated when my food came out as fast as it took me to order it. Think I was in and out of the place in less than 5 minutes. It's basically a late night truck with no menus and since I live really close, I didn't have an issue with the food steaming in the container. I have lived in a Hispanic neighborhood my whole life so my expectation for Spanish food is a little higher than most. On my second trip, I came around 9:30pm and they were super busy and the food took about 10 minutes but what a difference in taste. I think they do better during the beginning of service so the food doesn't sit out too much. I say it was more of a 3.5 and rounded down since the first trip was a train wreck. The food: Carne Frita with Moro rice, tostones and avocado. I got this on my second visit and it was a lot better than my first, the avocado was excellent and it really added a lot to the dish as a whole, the carne frita was nice and tender and I enjoyed it more than the carne asada. The tostones was good as was the moro rice. Avocado is a must! This platter was $10 Carne Asada with Moro rice and tostones- First visit, overall, I enjoyed the flavors but there was sometime thing wrong with each component of the dish. The Carne Asada had good flavor and had nice marks from the grill but it was chewier than I expected it to be, it was also cooked completely through. The Moro rice which is rice and beans cooked together also had nice flavor but the rice was too wet, rice is supposed to be firm, these were too soft and I think overcooked. The tostones was good but on the greasy side and it wasn't nicely crispy like it supposed to be, the platter also wasn't hot when I ate it. I been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food its so delicious and you get a large portion for $6-8 including soda. I have been to other trucks but this one is the best. They have a very extensive menu chicken, beef, pork, fish and soups. My all time favorite is the carne frita (fried steak) with moro (rice and beans mix together) and tostones. Its so delicious and I love the cabbage salad (cabbage, tomato, lemon and vinegar) that comes with the meal. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. This place is trash and I had a horrible experience here. This food truck is incredibly unorganized, there is no structure to ordering at all. We stood there for 45 minutes waiting for our food, for several reasons. The guy who takes the order does not care who has been waiting and he was constantly giving preference to his friends. He was also giving food through the back of his truck to his other friends for the whole entire time, this was delaying service to people who ordered first. We called him out on the b/s and he blamed us and he refused to apologize. Basically if you aren't this guys friend you're going to be waiting in line like a clown for 45 minutes to get truck food. If only yelped allowed 6 stars I would definitely rate it that! If you are from Queens you know about this Chimi truck. They are located on Roosevelt near LGA Airport which is a very busy main road. Parking is very hard which is why everyone double parks. The truck however doesn't open in the day and only in the evening which sucks but man their food is so worth it. My favorite is the beef with rice and bean, cabbage, plantains and avocado. I could literally eat this every day. The beef is so flavorful and yummy! The pricing is very cheap for $10 you can't beat the quality and quantity. The only con for this food truck is the long wait. The lines are soo long sometimes it takes about 30-40 minutes to place your order! This is a Colombian owned establishment so If you speak Spanish its plus to getting your food faster but regardless this truck has one of my favorite dishes. There grilled chicken and pork chops are good as well along with their soup specials! Best thing to eat after a night of clubbing. At first, you don't know what kind of food they sell because there is no menu, employees are from different countries- Dominican and Colombian- the color and design is a Colombian flag but the truck name, los amigos chimi churri, aludes to Dominican street food. So is this a Dominican/Colombian truck? Well, perhaps it was long time or they just left the Colombian design but I can say the truck sells Dominican food street staples: carne frita de res y pollo(fried beef or chicken chunks), asada, arroz Moro(rice and beans),tostones, maduros (fried sweet or green plantains)y ensalada de repollo ( cabbage salad). This is typical Dominican food! They also sell as its name says: chimi churros! This is a Dominican burger or sandwich. Their food is good in general, including their chimis! Will definitely come back for more chimis! Both the chicken and the beef version are good but I found the chicken one to be tastier and juicer. The beef has to much oregano flavor which overpowered the rest of the seasoning and the grilled flavor that is supposed to have. I am of Dominican decent and trust me when I tell you I had Carne Frita a few times in my lifetime. The staff seem nice, so that's a plus. One of my favorite food trucks. Although a chimi, the owners are from Colombia. They've been serving the neighborhood for 20 years and whenever I go there, there's always a bunch of big guys ordering there. That's a contrast from most other trucks, where I'm usually the tallest guy there, standing at a towering 5'10" (on a good day). Their moro is the best. And my favorite topping for that is the carne frita. They also have the "combo" which is beef and shrimp mixed in a white wine sauce. It's more refined, but obviously I'm not. BF and I came to grab quick dinner after a terrible Mets game on Friday night. We got there around 9 and there were a few people waiting already. Most of the people spoke Spanish and I felt like I was back in Colombia! As there was no menu on the truck, I pulled up Yelp photos and showed him what I wanted - basically a chicken with everything and a carnes frita with everything. Our boxes had rice with some beans mixed in, half of an avocado, 4 pieces of delicious patacones (fried smashed green plantains) and (very acidic) cabbage salad. Everything was made to order and was great together. The chicken were left in whole pieces - 2 thin large pieces to be exact. BF's steak was cubed. Out of the two proteins, I think we preferred chicken as it was more tender and juicy. The beef, though plenty, was a bit tough and it was tiring to chew so much! The salad is a bit too acidic to eat on its own, but combined with the meat and rice and a bit of avocado, it was the perfect flavor. Total for 2 boxes was $20 without sodas. A bit pricier than we had expected but it was fresh and felt way less greasier than chicken over rice. Will be back if we go to another game, but probably wont' make a special trip for it. read more
