Two beef and one chicken taco
Shelley L.

I've been craving tacos and hubby decided to surprise me with food from this truck! The truck is conveniently located near a bus stop and train station, close to the Citibank on the corner on 71st. He ordered three tacos (3 for $9) and a chicken quesadilla ($6). The food does take a bit, about 10 minutes, but that gives peace of mind that it is being cooked/heated/prepared. Beef taco - Good flavor! Generous chunks of meat with sauce and plenty of cilantro. The tortilla was okay, heated well and wasn't hard on the edges like other places I've tried. Chicken taco - Not sure how they dice up the chicken and what seasoning it is but it works. It's slightly spicy (in the slightest hint for those with sensitive taste buds) but it adds a kick of flavor to the overall taco. Same toppings as the beef. Good stuff. Chicken quesadilla - large portion! Same meat seasoning and prep as the taco. Loved that the cheese was inside the folded quesadilla along with the salad mix. Pressed well and the tortilla was on point. Crunchy but soft. Overall, would definitely return to this truck to get food. I love the way they package the tacos and quesadilla. More loving than restaurants! Tacos are packed in a way so the toppings aren't falling out from all sides.

Mmmm Pork Tacos. Excellent!

I love street food and I love tacos. Thus I love street tacos. These happened to be great tacos for street or a restaurant. NYC is overflowing with great tacos in restaurants so I am happy to have a place close by to get on the street. I had the pork tacos and a side of rice. The tacos were excellent. They had a generous portion of meat and sauce. I have been craving them ever since which is always a sign of good food to me. The menu is hard to read and the language barrier with the cart employee might make t hard to order but trust me it is worth it. 3 tacos were $9 which I think is a little expensive for street food but again quality and taste make them worthwhile.

Los Chilitos offers the most authentic Mexican food this side of Jackson Heights. Know that this is not Tex-Mex but more like the food someone's abuelita serves, the difference is night and day or should I say día y noche. Pros, really tasty, and fresh food offered at super cheap prices. (Sure prices may look just ok but it's Super cheap relative to how much food they give, which is tons!) There are also open late night, (though usually seem to be absent on Sunday's) and offer meats and dishes unavailable any where else in Forest Hills. Cons, cash only, drinks are sometimes just lukewarm, and this being Mexican street food, on occasion you'll get a gristly bit, but it is rare. Of all the Mexican places in Forest Hills I can honestly say Los Chilitos is the one place I could eat at everyday and not get tired of.

Im convinced that anybody who doesn't like this cart isn't ordering properly. I'd visited on a couple of different occasions, primarily ordering the beef and chicken tacos. And they were alright, solid 3 stars but nothing amazing. I moved here from Corona, after all. My expectations were high. I later tried the chorizo, and my rating increased a bit: it was definitely tastier than the mundane options I'd been previously ordering. BUT, when I ordered the carnitas taco, I was floored. Absolutely delicious! It blew my previous selections out of the water. Then one day, I ordered the chicharron. It was the absolute best variation that I've tried! I won't attempt to describe the delicious flavor or perfect texture: words won't do it justice. Everyone needs to try it, it speaks for itself. Carnitas and chicharron are amazing. Oddly, I tried their al pastor on another day and didn't care for it all. Not all pork is created equal, I guess. I need to try options besides tacos, I'm sure they'll be a nice change. I love this cart, and appreciate that they offer what is probably the only authentic ethnic food option if the overpriced, overhyped food wasteland of Austin Street. Thank you Mexican cart; I appreciate you.

Left To Right. Pork Taco, Chicken Taco, Steak Taco. 3 Tacos for $9.00. Rated DELICIOUS. Dated April 2015.

I've slowly embraced the fact that I need tacos in my life more than any other kind(s) of food. Okay, partially true because I'd probably put Chinese Food, BBQ & Burgers ahead of tacos but tacos is making its way up on the ranking and in grand fashion. Mexican Food is a no thrills late night taco food vendor right on Continental Avenue next to Citibank for those that find landmarking easier to navigate to. This is one of TWO Mexican late night spot around, the other being 5 Burro Cafe. Your only other option would be to travel a little farther to Roosevelt Avenue (Elmhurst, Corona, Jackson Heights, etc.) to get your taco fill. On most nights, I don't feel up to doing that. So, Mexican Food is where it's at. Mexican Food is priced on the higher side for some reason. Especially being in Queens. Although, Forest Hills is known for higher priced dining but still I think it's a bit inflated. In Manhattan no, in Queens YES. Food wise, they are pretty good and I think they are trying to up their game presentation wise. I am not easily swooned. I normally order the 3 tacos for $9. Sometimes I get adventurous and order something else but as I said, tacos do it for me. The pork taco, chicken, & steak all had great flavor. The lemon wedge instead of lime wedge was a question mark but it still brought out great flavors. The green and red sauce went really well with the tacos. The radish slices was nice for presentation but I didn't eat it. Service wise, was good. I thought the lady was pleasant. If you are around this neighborhood and don't feel like trekking farther for tacos, this place will do it for you. FAN.

Usually in September this cart is my life savior. Working late nights is one of the few edible things I can venture for, enjoy and know I feel truly guilty. But boy the satisfaction is just so great. Tacos are my things. Made to order. I usually order the carnitas which are priced incredibly reasonable, $3.00 each. You get a nice fat taco with juicy pork, chicken, meat or many other toppings. The menu is displayed on the food truck. They are open late night; 6 days a week. Sunday's they are not out there. The cart is right next to citibank. So it's conveniently located next to the 71st continental train station. I haven't tried their other dishes but the tacos have always been consistent. You can watch some novelas while you wait, since these folks have a tv inside the cart to keep them entertained when it's slow. Try them out and you won't be disappointed.

Authentic Mexican food! The cescina taco and all of their tacos come with onions and an avocado sauce as well as radish. It is extremely delicious and the smell matches the taste. I've had a bite out of the torta when my husband ordered it and it was also good. I don't believe you can go wrong with anything you order from this cart to be frank. What I love about this cart the most is that it is open all day and all night so even though I work late this is always an option. Sometimes it's busy but the food is made fresh so I don't mind the wait.

Menu

My go-to place for tacos but I wish people would stop coming right up to them to place their orders without masks on! But then again, they don't say anything, plus a Spanish speaker also without a mask on went straight to the front of the line to place his order yesterday while everyone else with masks on were waiting. Again, nothing was said. Will probably be going somewhere else during this pandemic.

Spectaculoos!…read more Spectacular should be spelled Spectaculoos from now on. It just feels cooler to have the "oooos" enunciation at the end doesn't it? This Sunday only Wafel and Dinges truck is just way to dangerous. They should limit you to one of these because it's just way to hard choose just one option. Perhaps the Sunday only option is their way to protect us from those of us with no self control. If that is the case, good thinking W & D! As far as the Wafels, is there anything that Spekuloos (my current sweet addiction) or Nutella is spread on that doesn't taste awesome? Is there anything that fresh cut strawberries and whipped cream can't elevate? Who doesn't like a freshly made, still warm, slightly crunchy Belgium Wafel? You'll want to enjoy promptly right after you get your order it is most delicious the second you get it. Don't wait! The truck has all required utensils right there for you and the box is built in a way that makes it conducive to eat by sliding the Wafel to the edge to bite. However you're on your own to find seating to enjoy which can be somewhat of a challenge in some neighborhoods, where this truck parks including this one. Pro tip: head to the nearby MacDonald park nearby. One final thought, for those diabetics out there, just keep walking, there isn't anything here for you to eat,....

It's refreshing to see more food trucks in the Forest Hills areas.

It is a Latin icon in the borough and a bonafide post-nightlife option that has become a popular destination amongst locals. This has low-key become a favorite spot of mine to show visitors to Queens and a fabulous alternative for late night munchies in this part of Corona. The owner hails from Colombia and his crew of guys are bustling in a tiny food truck kitchen, cooking up variations of carne asada with tostones, salads, and rice. I've never seen a menu for this place and I've also never heard anyone speak English either. Es muy importante para comunicar en el español. It is strictly cash only and be prepared to wait during prime evening hours (1AM-3AM). My favorite combination is the carne frita, which is like a chunky Dominican style fried beef. While it's sauteed and not deep fried, the chimichurri condiment is readily available at the counter and is an essential component if mixed with the sides. Make sure an avocado is present and mix it up with the the moros (mixed rice) and tostones. The end result is a $10ish platter of late night goodness. While I sing their praises overall, I can't give them 5 stars for a number of reasons. Their carne asada platter is good, but more difficult to eat since their plastic knives don't do much with the meat. Parking for drivers is a zoo at times and folks are parking illegally just to get in line. It gets extra confusing when folks are standing around and not ordering, which leads to big crowds and longer wait times. ____________ (#1) Halal, Mexican, and pizza can wait another night.
