Service is great here. It's a hole in the wall kinda vibes with authentic food. The tacos were delicious and the soup was SO goood. My boyfriend suggested going here and I was not disappointed. I was so full I couldn't have dessert! Best part is I didn't feel overly bloated after!

My discharge papers from the hospital because of this dirty place!

This place gave me food poisoning I had to even go to the hospital! Don't recommend nobody to come here I should've known better I knew this place was dirty when I came in to eat never again

What a great little hole in the wall. This is a gem. Love this place and will be coming back. Place has great food and a great vibe. Music playing. Decor that makes you feel like a tropical vibe. Great drinks. They have flavorful margaritas of all flavors. I love the modelo negra. Very small and quaint. Cozy for 2. Must try the food. Had shrimp cocktails and flautas. It's more Mexican dishes. To end the night the bartender brought us a round of shots.

You really can't go wrong eating here. The food is made with a little bit of magic. I usually get the steak burritos and have never been disappointed on flavor. The only disappointment is when your plate is empty and there is no more to enjoy. Space is in the smaller end; you'll be happier in parties of 2-4. It's a vibrant space with lots to look at on the walls. Service is friendly and fast. Drinks are delicious and pack a punch!

This place NEVER disappoints -- their margaritas are to die for & their chipotle chicken quesadillas are my favorite thing on the menu. Absolutely love their 5 burro quesadilla & their queso fundido. Already craving another frozen margarita! They have the cutest decor & phenomenal service.

I loveee this spot. Definitely the GOAT in FoHi when it comes to Mexican food and I love the dive bar vibes in here. I came here with my mom the other day and we both noticed the price for frozen margs went up to $12 when they used to be $8. Fine, I don't mind a price increase and I do like to support a small owned business in our area, not a big deal. Margs still have the same great taste and super refreshing. Then we ordered tacos. Everything was delicious, though I noticed portions were a bit smaller. Much smaller servings of rice, beans, guac, etc. But the portions are still generous. All this to say, when I get the bill, the price for the entrees is not what was shown on the menu. Its fine if they increased prices, but the menu should reflect that or they should have signage regarding price increases. I'm disappointed to see the raise in prices and the decrease in portion sizes. Will I still come back here? Absolutely, its bomb. But I just wish there was a little more transparency with pricing. Its the least that can be done for the loyal customers. Pro tip: get the frozen watermelon marg, sooo good. Definitely a must have for summer.

Came here last weekend and was a bit disappointed. We asked for outside seating and was told it would be over an hour and to come back in 45 minutes. We took a short walk and came back in 35 mins and the girl told us she forgot about us and gave away our table, twice. We waited about another 20-30 mins for a table inside which was near the window and as the girl said "close enough" to outside. She did apologize but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Then also cleaned the table and told us to sit but it was filthy. Had I sat, I would have gotten grease or oil on my pants if I didn't wipe my own seat. Food was the same as always, it's good but the whole experience wasn't the best

Amazing food and service! Highly recommend this place to others! The chicken quesadilla was delicious! Highly recommend this place to others!

I've never had a better frozen margarita! The food is equally impressive and delicious. It's a small place and I'm not a fan of sitting so close to other people that we can hear every word of each others' discussions. But overall the vibe is nice. Staff is friendly. They did mess up my husband's order. He ordered 3 tacos - shrimp, steak and ground beef - they skipped the shrimp and gave him chicken which he was really disappointed about (he's not a huge fan of chicken). We had a movie to get to so didn't bother with it but they did still charge us for the shrimp (which obviously means this was a kitchen error, not a server error). However even with that mistake - the food was melt-in-your-mouth delicious (IMO just a bit overpriced) and we would def come back (esp for the margaritas).

We visited after too long of an absence and thanked our lucky stars as we got seated right away at this popular and bustling cafe! Even the hostess told us this was our lucky night as there is always a wait to get in. Yippee! While the place is on the small side and gets a bit cramped, it is such a a unique and welcoming place that allows you to feel instantly comfortable and relaxed. While 5 Burro's is well known for their frozen margaritas (they are fantastic) we opted for some Corona's (no draft beers, only bottles) and tequila shots. Complementary chips and salsa were bright to the table. We ordered the Mexican salad con carne with skirt steak-- a favorite go to that I have never gotten better anywhere. Their in house made dressing makes it so good. All was fresh and delicious. We loved picking some tunes to play on the jukebox. Service was super friendly and attentive. The restrooms were clean and well maintained. On street parking only. Can't wait to come back.

Swung by for dinner before a show at Forest Hills Stadium. Food and ambience were great! The hostess is a star and made everyone feel right at home, and our waiter was timely, helpful, and pleasant.

I ordered the short ribs and the five-onion soup again, and both were excellent. The service was spot-on and impressively quick--my food arrived in under 15 minutes. The owner is also really cool; he personally greets guests and makes a point of chatting with the performers to ensure they're comfortable. This is a wonderfully romantic spot. The beautiful flowers add such a nice touch (as I mentioned in my previous review). While it's not fully upscale, it has an elevated, sophisticated vibe that makes you want to dress up for the occasion. Highly recommended!

Well, at least business was "Blooming" due to Mother's Day reservations…read more All jokes aside, I visited this restaurant yesterday for a Mother's Day brunch with a group of eight others. Our reservation had been confirmed the day before by both our host and the restaurant. When I arrived early, I was surprised to find the place jam-packed and clearly overcrowded. The front-of-house staff, along with the presumed owner, seemed overwhelmed and initially could not locate our 12:00 reservation. There were also guests with 11:30 and later reservations that were still waiting to be seated, along with several other groups scheduled around our time. After waiting nearly 50 minutes, talking with others who were also waiting, and watching two other tables be hastily set up and filled, we were finally seated. The table had been quickly wiped down and set with placemats, but it was missing silverware and several glasses. Most of this was resolved fairly quickly, though two people still never received glasses, with one person asking a few times for one. Our clearly overworked waitress brought us water and eventually took our order after a shorter additional wait. I ordered a $6 cappuccino, which was enjoyable, with a moderate amount of foam and a pleasantly bitter flavor without tasting over-roasted. However, another person's $4.50 iced coffee did not seem worth the price, as it appeared to be no more than a 12-ounce glass and was mostly filled with ice. Outside of coffee, the staff was understandably slow with water, with long waits, and we finally got a pitcher near the end of the meal. For my meal, I chose the $16 Poached Browns, which included two poached eggs, pulled pork, an English muffin, hollandaise sauce, and their Bloom hash. Many minutes later, and I mean many, the eggs were properly poached and were the highlight of the dish. The pulled pork, served without any additional sauce, was dry, and the small amount of hollandaise did little to help. The hash on the side lacked crispiness and vegetables, aside from what might have been a tiny piece of chopped yellow pepper. Overall, it was below average but passable. Two others ordered the Make Your Own Omelette for $19, which comes with a choice of three ingredients, the same hash, and bacon. They made two specific requests, both of which our waitress confirmed: first, that they did not want bacon, and second, that they could substitute fries for the hash--regular fries for one person and sweet potato fries for the other. Despite this, both plates arrived with bacon, as you can see in my first photo, where one of them transferred her bacon to my plate. The other person sent her plate back and ended up receiving her Mother's Day meal well after everyone else. The omelette also looked a bit more like a frittata, which I didn't mind. After waiting a while, including finally getting pitchers of water, we finally left after a long and annoying bunch. If this spot indeed had reservation issues, why on earth were they still allowing walk-ins? Why did they tell people it would take 15-20 minutes to seat when it would clearly take 30+? This entire experience was inept from beginning to end. The food this time is closer to a 2, but our experience as a whole was closer to a 1. I would never go back.

We tried to make reservations for 6:30pm, but it gave us an error message that the time had been taken already, so I was assuming that the restaurant would be packed, but it was the opposite when we walked in. There were only two other people there. So I would definitely look into their reservations system. For drinks, I went for the mango margarita. 10/10 recommend the drinks. My margarita was delicious. their cocktail menu looks super fun, they have drinks that come out in little bathtubs and cute presentations. For food, we shared the ahi tuna tostada appetizer which was so good! super fresh and flavorful. For our mains, I got the chicken al pastor tacos (loved the flavors, especially the avocado crema) and he ordered the carne asada tacos, which were also packed with flavor. Portion-wise, for the price, you get three tacos, so it felt very reasonable. The tacos were definitely a hit for both of us. The only small downside was the service towards the end. everything started out great, but once we were done, it took a while to actually get the check and pay. Kinda funny how it took longer to leave than it did to get served. Not a huge deal, but just something to keep in mind if you're on a schedule..they definitely don't rush you out. Overall great vibes, great food, great drinks. I would absolutely come back!

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
