This was my second time dining here, and I thoroughly enjoyed it once again. After enjoying a delicious meal paired with a fantastic all-jazz performance, I'm already looking forward to coming back. I ordered the short ribs and the five-onion soup again, and both were excellent. The service was spot-on and impressively quick--my food arrived in under 15 minutes. The owner is also really cool; he personally greets guests and makes a point of chatting with the performers to ensure they're comfortable. This is a wonderfully romantic spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The floral decor and murals on the walls really create a nice ambience. This particular night, they were hosting a sip and paint. They didn't mention it when we made a reservation and when we entered the restaurant, there were maybe about five table tables that were not occupied by the event. We completely understood the fact that the wait staff was also serving the event, and expected delays in service. When our waiter came over to apologize for not being as attentive as he felt he could have been, we told him we completely understand not a problem. That being said, and even giving him the benefit of the doubt, we did not feel like welcomed guests at this restaurant. The attitude towards us asking questions about the menu, being indecisive about menu items seemed to put him completely off. We asked a question about one of the appetizers and he gave us a snarky answer. When it came time for dessert, we ordered an Affogato, which wasn't on the menu, but assuming it was an espresso with ice cream, didn't mention our allergy to nuts. When the cup came out, the rim of the cup was lined with chocolate and a mix of nuts. All we did was mention at that point that we had a food allergy, which clearly displeased our waiter greatly and when we asked for a different one without nuts on it, his attitude changed drastically. We finished up, paid the bill, left a normal tip and when we said good night to the waiter, he didn't so much as even say good night or thank us for coming - nothing at all. Now I'm one to believe you never know what someone is going through and I'm very sorry if he was having a bad day but it kind of put a damper on our dining this evening. I came here on a Friday night and there was a live band playing, which made the whole experience even better. The restaurant is super cute and vibey perfect for date night or even a girls' night out. We ordered a variety of appetizers to share and everything was delicious. For my entrée, I got the short rib and the portion was HUGE. I went here a good while back. The staff as well as I believe the owner was friendly. The outside is rather unique as the flowers and stuff lead to a rather dark bar interior. It's unique and fun. In terms of appetizers, the Edamame Guacamole for $14 with tri-color chips was a bit different as there was some chunk presumably from the edamame and the Krispy Brussels side we had were fine. My preferred small plate/side were the simply prepared but tasty Grilled Artichokes which were $15. For a main dish, I had the Short Rib Burger for $28 with an 8 oz. Certified Angus blended beef patty, 3 oz. pulled short rib, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, and au jus gravy which came with some fries. The burger was a tad dry as it was a bit past the temperature I preferred but the short rib which was pretty tender along with the gravy and onions helped with the dryness. It was a decent burger. The fries were pretty crispy though under salted and the pickles and other things were standard. As mentioned several times, the food here was OK. Nothing particularly wrong with anything but nothing particularly great. It works as a local good pub but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it makes a decent meal in a pinch. The vibe was full of energy and fun--great music, a lively crowd, and an atmosphere that made you want to dance the night away. So upon walking in, the ambiance of the restaurant is clubby and social. You walk in and you're immediately hit with dark lights and glowing floral decor, followed by live music. There is a bar area as soon as you walk in, and as you continue straight, there is a large open area of seating. There is a long booth as well as high top and regular tables. The service however is poor. When we arrived, we sat at the bar due to a lack of seating and an unknown waiting time. The bartender was very nice and greeted us, and took our appetizer and drink order quite quickly. The mocktail list was quite limited. The drinks listed were not substitutes of the regular cocktails, but were instead simply listed as "grape fruit." Appetizers: The chicken lollipops were flavorless and bitter. The bruschetta and french fries were great. Dinner order: We ordered our dinner, and waited an hour and 45 minutes for it! We did not have anyone come up to us and tell us our food was on the way. The bartender, who was our waiter, disappeared for 20 minutes. He then returned and apologized for the wait and said due to a few large parties, they couldn't bring us our order on time. The 'large parties' he was referring to were 2 tables of 10 people. Once we received our order, my friend got the correct dish, which was the ribs, and it was delicious. The meat was very tender and easy to pull. I however, received the wrong order. The waiters quickly realized and presented me with my correct plate. I ordered the filet mingon medium well. It was cooked medium well, but not very good. It tasted bitter and had a bad flavor in general. The baby potatoes on the side however were delicious! I noticed they only had 1 waitress on the floor. The other staff seemed to be more concerned with singing "happy birthday" to people than prioritizing the rest of the restaurant. I came here for my friend's birthday celebration this past weekend, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. First of all, the restaurant is adorable, and great for folks who like Instagram, since there are a few photo ops throughout. I sat down with our group and we ordered sweet potato fries and the kung pao calamari to start. I'm not usually a fan of sweet potatoes or calamari, but to my surprise, I liked both. The sweet potato fries weren't too sweet, and the calamari wasn't chewy at all, which is a problem I've come across at some other places. I also ordered the Amalfi Spritz, a non-alcoholic take on the classic aperol spritz. It was delicious and had a similar flavor to an aperol spritz, but it didn't even need the alcohol added. For my main, I got the bibimbap with vegetable takoyaki balls. It was my first time trying takoyaki, yet alone seeing a vegetarian version. The bibimbap had a presentation I hadn't seen before, but every ingredient on the plate was perfect. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside, yet chewy on the inside, and had a slightly pink color from I'm assuming beets. One of the other people in our group ordered the tofu sandwich for herself, as well as the rigatoni with marinara for the table. I tried a few pieces of the rigatoni, and it was so warm and comforting- not only that, it was the quality you'd get from a high-end Italian restaurant. The flavors of literally everything I got were heavenly. Overall, my experience was amazing. Everyone made us feel extremely welcome, like we were being invited in to someone's home. Had THE BEST dining experience here. Located right on Metropolitan where parking can sometimes get a bit tricky (I always luck out on Metropolitan though). This spot is not only beautiful, the food is as delicious as the place is stunning. Literally a perfect experience was had as a friend and I who hadn't seen each other in a long time got to catch up. The staff saw that it was one of those dinners were we weren't in a rush and the respected that by checking in very intermittently. They were wonderful. The specials they featured looked so good that we got two of them. The charcuterie board, which was as beautiful as the restaurant itself was such a nice size and a perfect starter for the pasta in the cheese wheel. This was our first time checking out Bloom. The decor is beautiful. The staff were friendly. We went on a Jazz Thursday night. The trio playing was fantastic, very enjoyable. To start off we ordered cocktails. I had the I Dream in Color, which I loved. It was well balanced perfection. Tom had the Garden of Eden, which he felt was too tart. As an appetizer, we shared the grilled artichokes. They were well seasoned and tender, an absolute delight. We agreed this was the best dish of the night for both of us. For our main courses, Tom had the short rib burger with Truffle fries. The burger was very good although there was no discernible au just gravy as mentioned on the menu, it came with ketchup and mayo. It could have been improved with the au just gravy. The truffle fries were great, hot and crispy outside, soft and 'fluffy' inside. I had the braised short rib as an entree. It was just ok. The whipped mashed potatoes were way too cold. As for the short rib, although the outer edges were very good, once you got past the edges, the inner part was way too dry to eat. Tom loved the crispy and carmelized brussel sprouts. In addition, we ordered a side of grilled asparagus, which I thought was delicious. For dessert, we split the Bananas Foster. Loved it, the carmelized bananas were delicious. The ambiance was fun and upbeat with an in-house dj playing millennial jams, perfect of us millennial moms enjoying a kid-free brunch! We took pics like we were the only ones there! Once we took our pics, we sat down for our meal. We were a group of 7women and they gave us a large and spacious table. The menu had plenty of options, btwn that and us yapping away it took a bit of time for us to place our order but the staff was patient with us. I like that we had the option to add bottomless brunch or order drinks off their cocktails menu, some places require the whole party to add bottomless brunch. I had the "Thorn in My Side", a bourbon based drink with citrus(I can't remember if it was blood orange or grapefruit) and bitters, it was sooooo good!! I would've ordered another one but I had worked overnight that morning and I was driving home. For my meal, I had the Poached Browns- basically pulled pork eggs Benedict with hash. The hash was seasoned nicely, the pulled pork, although tender, lacked flavor. I had to ask for extra hollandaise bc it was served with the skimpiest drizzle of hollandaise. Two other people in our group ordered the same thing and they said theirs was DRY & flavorless. The friend next to me ordered their avocado toast which was much larger than we expected, she was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. When it came time for desserts, we ordered a couple to share and the staff surprised our birthday celebrant with a shower of bubbles, a cake and a huge sparkler. The desserts were ok, we had peach cobbler, chocolate mousse and chocolate cheesecake. All in all we all enjoyed ourselves. Located on Metropolitan Ave, meter parking right outside with residential within walking distance. Store front establishment, nicely decorated interior with a theme of flowers. Very nice set up, bar area, and seating area with high tops, one sided booth areas, and regular chair/tables. We came on a Saturday night for 2 with a reservation. We were seated immediately right by the flower wall with the little bench swing. Menu has different types of cuisines, offers vegan, vegetarian, and regular options. They have a separate drink menu and a menu with their weekly cocktail and dinner specials. I ordered the root bound and down cocktail which had a nice autumn-y flavor, apple spices too. We got the calamari appetizer and as we were starting to eat it, staff came by running a cable wire above the booth side of our table. My partner was sitting in the booth seat and unfortunately was sandwiched between two male staff for about 5 minutes as they figured out how to run the cable by that part of the wall and behind the flower wall. As they moved the flower wall around, a heavy amount of dust was coming out and on to our food, table, and drinks. My partner was visibly upset, as was I. They offered to move us to another table which we accepted and they had no problem replacing the drink and calamari that had the dust falling on it. The owner was extremely apologetic and upon learning it was our first time there and it was my birthday, he added free rounds of drinks, comped the dessert we got, and gave us a $25 gift card to use for a future visit. We also got the midnight in Paris cocktail which was tasty and good alcohol content. For entrees we went off the specials menu, got the branzino and the shrimp linguini. The shrimp were overcooked but the pasta, sauce, artichokes, spinach, and asparagus with shaved parmesan were delicious. The branzino had a tomato base sauce on top; the fish was soft and tasted good, just a pinch of salt needed and it would have been a home run. The fish came with baby potatoes that had a charred taste and spinach that was delicious too. For dessert we went with the apple pie. I loved it, my partner felt it was a bit too sweet. Around 10:30 pm Bloom started the Latin night. Variety of Spanish music, older, newer, salsa, bachata, merengue. They cleared the middle of the room for dancing and left tables surrounding for those who were still eating and/or having drinks. Most of the place ended up dancing at different points. This was a good experience and a good idea for a date night. The music is played by a DJ. I will return and look forward to an excellent experience from beginning to end. One of my new favorite spots in the area, I frequented this spot many times when it was previously Dylan's and The Other Place. Great location with lots of street parking. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with flowers, lots of photo op and they even provide a ring light to get the perfect shot. The staff is great, very friendly and accommodating. They have a large menu, I've dined here about five times this year and everything was delicious. They also have amazing cocktails, I love their espresso martini. For starters go with the lobster bisque soup, could use a little more lobster, but the broth is amazing, I don't even like bread but I always finish the bread bowl. Salmon and shrimp are really good entrées, the short rib is just ok. The side mushrooms are very good. My husband doesn't eat much meat and they had a lot of vegan/ vegetarian options. I loved their squash soup off the Valentine's Day menu and edamame guac. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty the beet Wellington was. I was a little disappointed in the lobster of my pappardelle - not much lobster meat and it was chopped up in to thin slices but it he flavors are good and the portion was big. My mother's food was cold though and they did forget her bun, although she said she couldn't eat it it was so bland. I got the avocado toast which says it's a mix of avocado and edamame but if there was avocado in there I wouldn't know it was just edamame flavored. Got lured to this place after seeing a post about it from Instagram. First off, the place is very pretty and definitely photo Instagram worthy. Where they fell short was food. The menu was all over the place. This place isn't known for fusion but that's what the menu appears to be. There were Korean dishes, Italian, Mediterranean, American... like I said..all over the place. I had the bibimbap. It was not the traditional Korean clay pot kind, it was cold, on a plate and basically deconstructed. We had the mushroom calamari for appetizers and that was actually pretty good and the vegetarian takoyaki...was very dry and bland bland bland. My friend had the spicy calamarata. It was very bland, had some spice to it but seemed like that was the only seasoning they put in there. My other friend had the braised short rib. The meat was very tender but same shortcoming as everything else ...bland. Their saving grace was the mushroom appetizer and side of brussel sprouts. I can finally take this off my bookmark as I dined here. Once you walk inside, you understand why it is called bloom. With all of the (fake) flowers decorating the place, the name of the place makes sense. It is very ig worthy. We didn't make any reservations. Since when you go inside, there's a lot of seating, and barely anyone was there on a Sunday night. Perhaps that's why the service was spot on. There are a few areas at the restaurant where you can take pictures, such as by the bloom sign at the back. They even have a ring light and arm chairs where you can pose for shots. There's another area where the swing is with the flowers in the background. For the table, we got the wagu meatballs to start, and that was absolutely delicious. The sauce was so addictive that I ate it right up. The sauce paired well with the entire meal. For myself, I got the mojo jumbo shrimp as an entree, and that was pretty good, too. The banana's foster was for dessert. The presentation of it was great with fire to harden the banana. For drinks, we got a refreshing non alcoholic blueberry basil lemonade. They made a fresh batch for us as they didn't have any of it available. All in all, the only gripe was the price of everything. It was a tad bit pricey for the location of the place. read more

Loved the atmosphere, loved the food, loved my drink (had one Hibiscus Margarita which was delish! (side note- I went to a brunch and did not get to partake the bottomless mimosas because I had to drive!) but everything was lovely. Our waitress (my God I forgot her name!) she was great, a made sure we were all taken care of. One of my guests had a few issues with her meal but they made sure to accommodate. I was genuinely excited to visit Bloom Botanical Bistro, as it had been on my list for months. Unfortunately, my experience last night with three friends was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. When we asked if there were tables available, we were just told to "sit anywhere" with no guidance. Once seated, a busboy removed a few glasses but left the table dirty, and we had to ask him to come back and clean it properly. After that, we were completely ignored. No one brought menus, offered water, or even acknowledged our presence. Despite being seated in clear view of staff, including bartenders, waiters, a hostess, and a bouncer, not a single person checked on us. Servers walked past us multiple times without so much as eye contact. It was clear we were being overlooked. In fact, it took guests at a nearby table feeling sorry for us to flag someone down. By then, we had already decided to leave. When told we hadn't been helped, the staff's response was a shrug and he proceeded to head to the dance floor with another customer. When we finally decided to walk out, NO ONE tried to stop us, apologize, nothing. Overall, as some of the very few black people there, we felt unwelcome, disrespected, and invisible. This was not the experience we hoped for and it safe to say that I will not be returning. read more
