Came to a concert at Forest Hills Stadium for the first time last weekend and got into Queens early so we had time to kill! Of course I searched Yelp and found quite a few good options! We ended up walking through town to see how close the options were and landed at Lowkey Garden Lounge. Only 3.5 stars but I was intrigued by the flower decor outside. It could go either way - be overhyped and cheesy or a great experience. This was a great experience! The set up is a little weird when you walk in because there are tables right next to the door and no hostess. We walked through closer to the back until we found the bar and the hostess was there. She was super nice and offered us water while she got us a server. They use QR Code menus which I don't love but it worked fine. We ordered the Lychee Martini and Watermelon Martini - both were excellent! The lychee martini is a drink made for posting - it's poured over cotton candy. We also shared the burger sliders which were delish! They had a tasty sriracha aioli sauce. Overall we had a good experience here. The service was fast and friendly. The food / drinks were excellent. Made a reservation for brunch - walked in - place is aesthetically pleasing to the eye - not too big and very picturesque. They have a limited bar - brunch specials were $45 for 90 min- drinks came in a carafe- and we had margaritas (flavors available upon request) screwdrivers, white and red sangria and mimosas - decent choices - menu was not exciting - food was terrible. Disappointing to say the least left hungry. i ordered the chicken tenders it came with fries and they did not look appetizing when brought to the table. YUCK Sliders were okay - truffle fries aren't my cup of tea but my friends seem to like them. Steak and eggs about the only dish they got right - steak was cooked medium well seasoned good BUT the cheese just sprinkled on the eggs and brought to the table just tasteless and hard to look at. My girlfriend and I were invited to a birthday brunch for her sister who's boyfriend made reservations! When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the place which was located on the second floor of the building hidden behind the elevator! Once we entered, the establishment had a nice decor with a phone booth next to the bar to take pictures! We started off with appetizers of nachos with guacamole, mozzarella sticks, and fries! The guacamole was ok! It was missing some salt, pepper, and lime! Mozzarella sticks were pretty good! Came here with my friend to have drinks and chat. We arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday. It was pretty empty so we sat immediately. The ambiance in this lounge is gorgeous. The floral decor and cute light up signed take selfies to another level. They also have a cute "booty call" phone booth. The food itself was o.k. I had some buffalo wings and Parmesan truffle fries. I had been meaning to check this place out and I'm so glad I did! The staff was super friendly and attentive - one of the bartenders even told me to get my phone to record a drink I ordered since he knew it was going to be pretty! I had such an amazing time at LowKey Garden Lounge. It really is lowkey I passed it so many times & didn't know it was there. We got there for happy hour After work which is from 5-7p, the happy hour promo is 50% off their full food menu & 50% off their cocktail menu. We had the shrimp w lobster which was so good, the sauce was a bit salty but it was really tasty. The shrimp & lobster was fresh and tasty as well. It also came with mash potatoes. My friend had the lollipop lamp chops & was told it was good and they scraped off the yogurt (they are picky and don't like yogurt, so it doesn't mean it didn't taste good). We had the Hennessy wings that were really good but we got all drums which I usually ask for flats only & didn't. However, I didn't think I would just get drums. The drinks were also good we had the Tokyo Drift, the Drunken Genie & Hakuna Matata but instead of rum I changed it to tequila & it was soooo good. The waitress gave us shots on the house cuz of the wait in the beginning which was nice. And Yelp had a check in deal for a free shot so we got another round of shots. I've been to this place many years ago before it was low key and it was completely different inside. Now the inside is so pretty and does well for photos. The smoke is thick so you know the hookah is in the building from outside. I do wish the drinks were a little more quality. The frozen drink machine didn't look like an option being that it wasn't on or running but had stuff inside not interested. I ordered a drink and they ran out right after they made mine my friend couldn't get a drink since it was done and had to change spirits. Is located in Austin street in Forest Hills Queens and parking is a pain so allow yourself enough time to look for parking before your reservation. Always a good time at Low Key, glad they finally got their hookah license back. I don't understand why they charge a $20 cover on a Sunday afternoon when it's dead inside and we have a table reservation, spent $800 (party of 8). Hookah service was terrible, they use insta light which kept burning out within 10-15 minutes, no one comes to check on you, we had to keep asking the waitress to flag someone down for us. For $45 a hookah they should use better coal and have someone constantly going around like most hookah lounges do. Our waitress was great, music is good. Typical bar food menu, everything we had was good (wings, fries, arepas). If your sitting outside in the garden area on a rainy night be prepared to get wet, more like a rainforest than a garden. I've been coming to Low Key since Dec 2022 and I have to say, it's absolutely my favorite spot to bring friends & fam from outta town when they come to visit. Austin st has a ton of great spots and Low key lounge is no exception! It's a cute hidden gem located in an unassuming plaza - but don't let the exterior fool you. Inside there is a super cute & instagrammable vibe perfect for great photo ops and fun memories. They have tons of tasty cocktails and apps and a great happy hour from 5-8pm M-F. If you're a local and haven't stopped by, i'd urge you to check it out. They tend to have cool happy hour deals on their instagram, so be sure to take a look before dropping by if you're in the mood for something special. I personally love their calamari, wings, fries, tacos & tostones, and those are my go-to happy hour bar snacks. So I was excited to try this place because my friends and I saw it all over Tik tok. I'll start by saying that we went in January which is way after this place blew up on Social media . A virgin drink is literally juice, Seltzer and ice.. but she didn't offer me an alternative for the margarita. So I said okay can you ask the bartender to make me any virgin drink? After a minute she says okay fine.. and came back with a virgin drink for me. ( the drink was delicious- virgin strawberry daiquiri ) Then hookah was ordered for the table. My friends ordered an ice tube for the hookah but for some reason, around 10 mins in, the hookah wasn't effective. They asked the server if it was possible to change the ice tip for the hookah because it was not pulling. She says " yes I'll change it, but I'm going to charge you because you've been smoking on it for a minute" ... that was rude, because no one said anything about the price, the issue was the effectiveness of the hookah. I explained this to her and she says " okay I'll call the hookah boy". The " hookah boy " came and fixed the issue and it was working better. So in total we had 6 drinks( 2 with no liquor even in it, so that should have been $6 each lol ) , one hookah with an ice tip, Mozzarella sticks, regular fries, and GUAC & TOSTONES for $264... definitely not worth it. Not their strong point. This sort of the brunch definitely lacks and is one the key reasons I have this restaurant such a poor rating. The reason is it is one the MAIN reason people brunch....the unlimited drinks!! Drinks: large margaritas mules jugs are $125 a pop ($25-$35 too pricey) and the beer selection was limited. I'm surprised by the reviews! We were a party of 2, walk-in, on a Sunday night. Security check including staff checking our IDs with a machine to see if we had been banned from any clubs/bars in NYC. One security guard had handcuffs. The one who checked my bag asked if I had any weapons in my bag. The restaurant is pretty narrow and dark. It's super well decorated with flowers and lights, a perfect place for Instagram pictures. There is a sign for dress codes and I think the security guard asked the person in front of us to take his cap off. I wore jean shorts and heels and got in but I'd recommend to look *nice* if you're going on a busier night. The food is expensive and I was disappointed I didn't leave feeling full, but it was tasty nonetheless. We ordered - tostones with guac, calamari, arepas, and chicken nachos. We didn't finish the nachos or arepas. I'd say the food isn't SPECIAL but it is better than your average American bar food. (Wings etc) If you order food, I recommend tostones and calamari- the sauce with the calamari was super good. The tostones were very well salted!! (You might even say a little too salty lol) We ordered a hookah, and two drinks. I got the Tokyo Gin? (I forgot the name!) which came with a popsicle. It was a strong drink! I also LOVED the music/DJ. They played throwback R&B hits, hip hop, Afrobeats. Definitely was not disappointed in the DJ at all. They have a cute phone booth at the back of the restaurant you can take pics and the bathroom is super cute too! They have a sign for what ladies could do if they feel unsafe. I loved that. I'd be open to coming back for the music and vibes. There isn't much space to dance though, so I can only imagine how it is on a Friday night! read more
