The little "dance floor" they carved out in the middle barely suffices as one, but I guess they really made do with what they had. They definitely try to overpack this place to the max. Food was amazing, though. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share, like the yuca corquettes (probably my favorite), coconut shrimp, shrimp ceviche, guac, and the tostones rellones. They were all so, so good and not overly expensive, that we made another order of everything. My drink (Mori Sanado) was very good and came with a cute fish-shaped glass. It's an overstimulating place, to say the least, so I'd mentally prepare for that alone. Since we came on a Saturday night, it was expected that it was a party vibe but I expect it's the same during brunch. You really do have to come with good company to be able to slightly enjoy this place. Arrived at the restaurants opening hour on a Taco Tuesday, which doubles as a happy hour. After waiting over 45 minutes for 1 order of tacos, I decided that if I didn't receive the first serving halfway thru the time limit, it's not sensible to stay for "bottomless." Honestly I am still trying to wrap my head around this dinner experience as it was NOT my first time here. The first time Around our total was $180. I am so disappointed of the turn of events for my coworker's birthday dinner earlier this month; a Friday night. First off, we made a reservation for 4 but at the last minute, another coworker decided to come celebrate with us. I didnt think this would be a big deal but boy was I wrong. I think this already set the tone for the evening to follow. The place was empty and they still gave us a hard time about adding one person to our party. We said tap was fine and were brought a bottle of Panna water. Really??? Now I am not one to argue; especially with when out with company but don't you guys write stuff down??? Fine $10 gone .... When we get the bill, our grand total for the night was $$$540; which included taxes, the tip and $150 on tequila shots. $$$150?? Seriously?? We see that we were charged $15 for a shot of don julio....INSANE!!! Why not ask us the brand we wanted?? As does any other place... I mean there must have been a cheaper alternative. Came in for drinks and there was a soccer game between Venezuela and Bolivia so it was extremely loud to the point where you couldn't hear anyone talking. Their drinks looked pretty good and I did see some people eating. Bartenders were ok mostly Colombian but not friendly like most Colombians. The place was pretty packed as well so I would say it's an okay place for drinks as for the food I have no idea since I didn't try anything but things looked tasty from what I saw. One drawback also was it was hotter inside than outside and today it's 80 degrees at the moment. Overall, I had an enjoyable time at Boske, mostly for the really good music and ambiance. I think because we were a large party, sometimes food & service can get underwhelming. We were advised to use the two hour open bar pre-fixe menu to have ease of ordering for such a large group (12ppl). Aesthetically the drinks were pretty but were watered down, as I expected from open bar. I also don't have a liking for house liquor, so I wasn't a fan of the drinks. The food was okay. I liked the Yuca Croquettes but did not like the Mofongo Salmon appetizer. My salmon entree was tasty, but it's salmon, easy for any flavoring. I visited Boské in Astoria to watch the Dominican Republic vs. Venezuela game. The place has a great Dominican vibe and the atmosphere was fun, but the experience could have been much better. When we arrived, the game was not set up properly. It seemed like the staff was trying to find it on YouTube, even though it wasn't being streamed there. For the first 30-60 minutes people were trying to connect phones to the TVs, and many guests left frustrated. Eventually the game was finally shown, but it was already well underway. Service was also very slow. Our food took over two hours to arrive. One staff member, Alberto, was very attentive and helpful, but overall there was little communication from management. The place has great potential, but for major sports events it would help to prepare the broadcast in advance and improve service and organization. read more

I loved how crispy the Tostones were, while the pork was nice and juicy. The Yuca Croquettes had angus sirloin inside, which was succulent and full of bold flavor. I also enjoyed the Shrimp Ceviche, which was served with light, airy, wonderfully crunchy plantains. The shrimp was fresh, tender, and had just the right amount of seasoning and citrus. The wings were decent, and had a bit of a kick to them. I ordered the Mofongo Bowl with Shrimp, but I think it would have been better with Ropa Vieja. The Mofongo was chewy, and tasted yummy with the accompanying sauce. However, it was a bit dry and bland. The Shrimp was just okay. Service was not the best. While I did enjoy some of the appetizers, I am used to much more authentic Dominican cuisine. This seemed to be just a trendy place, serving very Americanized Dominican fare. When I sat at the bar, I looked to my left, the couple each had these cocktails that were each so beautiful! I needed to mention like the jungle nectar had this elegant glass. Another thing that stood out was the presentation. There is an Instagrammable background for photos of a dripping neon heart. One more thing that was on point was the music. If you like to shake it, then note that this club turns up for dancing! It has all the top 40 Latin reggaeton hits! This is also a great spot for a birthday party or a celebration! I saw a place to reserve on open table, but when I went to book a table, they were all reserved so we just walked on in. I'm wondering how early I needed to book it. The bartender told us the wings were super spicy, I was very excited to have a bite of the wings, but I did forget that we Dominicans don't eat a lot of spicy food, the wings were not spicy at all but were super bueno. Shrimp Ceviche cucumber grilled corn and plantains chips very good great taste the only complaint about this is the chips are not enough and they want to charge us extra for more. Yuca croquettes stuffed with mozzarella and chef blend black Angus sirloin. This is a must-try, the croquettes were super delicious, and very stuffed meat and cheeses. If you want food don't even bother. you have a better chance of getting your drinks faster than getting your food. Just go for the music vibes and drinks. One order came out, we asked one of the kitchen workers for the second order and he said to ask our waiter who didn't know what happened with our order. She tried to offer us a free shot and said the place was so busy. I understood there was a birthday party (the people didn't order food, just drinks). There were also ppl who sat after us that came in and got served food first. Tbh there should've been multiple waiters instead of one taking care of like 7 tables clearly it was too much than what she could've handled. I came in for brunch last weekend with a friend. The place was surprisingly relatively empty and we had the place to ourselves. They're also pretty brand new. But it has a very clubby like atmosphere so I imagine it gets hopping in the evening. Black leather booths and seats with beautiful walls of a green like jungle vibe and interesting paintings in the corners. We went with their regular cocktail menu instead of the brunch cocktails. So I ordered an espresso martini and also the Violet Bloom later (Mezcal, violet liqueur, pineapple juice, butterfly syrup, and yuzu). My friend also had an espresso martini and the Morir Sonando. The espresso martinis were absolutely delicious. My friend's second drink was in a gigantic fish and kind of tasted like a tropical coquito. My second was visually pretty but wasn't my cup of tea and that's my bad because I'm just not a fan of mezcal but I enjoy the other ingredients that were in the cocktail. For our food she got the steak and eggs and I got the red velvet chicken and waffle. The steak was cooked perfectly and delicious. The red velvet waffles were really nice and the chicken was nice. Together it was kind of an odd pairing to me. My friend thought it was great together but I just feel like the chicken has a general tso's sesame chicken vibe to it. Everything was still very tasty and the service was amazing. I'd definitely be interested in checking them out for dinner or happy hour. Forgetting the best part, their apps! Dear friends, Listening to my daughter recount her blue day, I learned she initially thought crepes might be the answer. However, as we parked, we spotted Boské, and she decided something a bit livelier might be the cure. Little did we know, this place would be the antidote to our blues. Boské is one of the most enjoyable places I've been to in years. The ambiance is playful with a touch of sophistication and a kiss of darkness, the food was delicious from start to finish, and the service was exceptional. The music and the people you meet there create an incredible atmosphere. Our server, Angie, was particularly attentive, warm, and welcoming. We even witnessed a group of "old ladies" celebrating someone's 100th birthday, which added to the joyous atmosphere. They looked and tasted delicious especially the shrimp tacos. My only negative and why I gave it a 3 star review was the time it took for your order to arrive also the number of tacos served was odd especially when you only have 1 hour for the ayce. You start with 3 tacos and every additional order brings 2. They are not big by any mean so any normal adult can eat one in two bites so don't wait to finish to order or you will be waiting for the server to come to your table and take your order. On the day I went there was only one waiter and he was taking care of multiple tables so I literally sat there for up to 10 minutes waiting for him to finish his tables to get his attention to order again. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the hookah guy was extremely rude and had an attitude. He never mentioned that it was a cash-only payment until the last minute, which was very inconvenient. On top of that, the hookah itself was terrible--nothing was coming out, and when we asked for it to be fixed, he seemed annoyed and unwilling to help. when the hookah guy came back, he demanded $25, and nothing was improved. We noticed he was more pleasant at other tables To make things worse, as we were still sitting at the table, he grabbed our food without asking and then asked if we were finished. It was incredibly unprofessional and made us feel rushed and unwelcome. Overall, the service was awful, and the experience was frustrating.
