3.5 stars, A neighborhood hang out for sure. Great vibes and very friendly staff. The music is a little loud for any intimate conversation but it's definitely an entertaining spot. Our neighboring tables were dancing or moving around in their seats. There looks to be a small stage in the center of the dining room but tonight being a weeknight (Tuesday), it was not being used. (On IG however, the videos will show you a live band or some form of entertainment). Our server Alex was very nice. This is an AYCE meats spot and there are many different menu options both for the AYCE and a la carte. There's two price points for the AYCE as the larger more pricier one offers better meats. Do let your server know what cook temperature you want your steak. They actually ask! My girlfriends and I decided to order the smaller AYCE platter which includes: maduros, hanger steak, chorizo, chiccarone, blood sausage, and beef ribs. Since it's AYCE, you can order more of whatever was on this platter. For the table, they bring you a sharing portion of Yucca fries, hash browns, baby potatoes and different sauces. You can ask for a variety of sauces as needed, sorry I can't name them all.. I liked the chimichurri and the pink sauce (that's what they called it... It's creamy) best. The hanger steak was the best in this smaller platter - flavor wise and cook temp was perfect. I ordered it medium rare. My friends ordered the steak medium and since it's served on a hot sizzling plate, it cooks a little more. You can see the splash literally from the plate to the table. The chorizo was my second favorite meat. I found the beef rib too dry but it was on the bone at least. The chiccarone was crispy and had a nice slab of fat. Not much seasoning needed as everything was seasoned. The drink menu is probably most interesting. Hard liquor and shots a plenty. I opted for a mocktail - coco fresh it was called. It was a mix of coconut and pineapple. Not too sweet but refreshing. It does come with a lot of ice though. For my birthday, they sang, had sparklers and did a whole bubble presentation and gave me a fresh dessert - tres leches with passion fruit. Complimentary... So nice of them. This place goes all out for their decor - it was decorated to the 9s for Halloween. They have a live DJ playing music, so it's pretty loud inside and gives it kind of a club atmosphere with the dim lights. We decided to try the AYCE menu and it's a lot of food (at least 3 different cuts of steak, pork, sausage, etc with some fried sides). We did not order more since it was so much food, but luckily they allow you to take home the food you don't finish. I don't think there's a value for the AYCE as all of the meats end up tasting the same after a while - I think I would order à la carte next time. read more

Both good. - Chicarron: crispy and my favorite appetizer - Maduro con queso: a little too sweet with the guava jam but not bad - picada large: I'd get this mix again to get a little of everything. The chicarron was thinner and 'crunchy' so I think the separate appetizer is still worth it. The steak pieces are tender but not as good as the skirt steak. The arepas were really good - I like the sweet corn arepas. - Skirt steak: one of my favorite skirt steaks, flavorful and tender I got the coco fresh mocktail, which was way too sweet without enough lime juice to offset. Terrible. They advertise all you can eat tacos and $5 margaritas. The margaritas are good but are served in a plastic cup that is half full. It is not worth $5. You might as well buy a regular margarita at full price, you get more and costs less. The terrible part was the "all you can eat tacos". On line it said for 90 minutes. When you sit they tell you it's 60 minutes. That would be fine except it took 22 minutes to get the first order of 3. There were 3 of us dining. We all got our first order. You can't order a second order until the first order is finished. We finished and asked for another order each. It took another 20 minutes to get these, this time 2 orders were delivered with only 2 tacos each. the third order never arrived. I asked for a manager. There was a young guy sitting at the bar, drinking a margarita who approached us. I asked if he was the manager and his response is "kinda, he is like a manager". I thought that was really weird, I am assuming its the owners son or something like that but to be drinking and working is something I am not use to. I explained to him that I had been there 40 minutes and only had 3 tacos that my second order never arrived. I told him I did not want any other food, and that I would not be paying $30 for 3 tacos and I expect the order removed. He said he'd remove it. The $39.99 AYCE BBQ platter is a pretty good deal. You get a huge variety of meats on a skillet and once you finish you can order another whole batch of whichever meat you want. I got my seconds of just hanger steak and pork belly. My favorite were those two and the sausage. It is a very solid deal that allows you to take your first plate home if you are unable to finish your first plate. What completely threw me off was how hot it was inside. It was nearly 90 degrees outside and there seemed to be no AC running in this place. I felt sweaty and uncomfortable during my whole time here. I really liked their lulo vodka drink; it was super refreshing but not very strong; it tasted more like a lulo juice with a splash of vodka. Their all you can eat meat selection is honestly not that great; it comes with a few small pieces of steak, chorizo, morcilla and chicharrón. The steak didn't seem to be the best quality meat and was pretty mediocre. I honestly loved the appetizer more which was papa criolla, sweet plantain, fried potato and some ribs. The plantain was sweet and the papa criolla were soft and salty. The service from the grill was also very slow; we waited 30-40 minutes to get our first serving of steak which honestly takes time from the 90 minute limit. Went for a birthday. They didn't want to sit us till the whole party was there, which fair, BUT what if the last two people end up cancelling last minute? They threatened to cancel my reservation.. but majority of us were already there and we were still going to eat with or without the other folks. But threatening to cancel was kind of unnecessary.. The hostess was rude and wanted to rush us out of our table. They have a 2 hour limit for a table but it took a while for us to get our food. Our server was okay, attentive but kept forgetting small things. Ambiance & drinks were great! No complaints there. I will say though, the drinks say a certain price but then they charge $2 per liquor that's in the drinks on top of the price of the drink.. ordered the picada small and they charged an extra $2 for guac that's supposed to already come with it. I've also never seen any restaurant to charge for the birthday desert, so that took us all by surprise. seems like they like to add hidden prices. Be aware that the verbiage on their receipt for tips is misleading. In bold it says SUGGESTED TIP to confuse you on trying to add a tip but in regular print it says "for parties 1 or more 20% gratuity is automatically applied". They present a sports bar vibe, with lots of Large TVs all around and loud music playing, but for me the music should start out low, and as the night goes on you can pick up the volume. Truly disappointed. The reels and hype had me excited about going to have a great steak. We ordered two entrañas that looked as if they were half the size of what was advertised and basically seemed as if we were splitting one. Paid $35 for half a steak. Really??? This new restaurant has amazing vibes and is really cute aesthetically. Drinks were great! Waiters were also really nice and accommodating but they were understaffed with the restaurant being full. We got the all you can eat meat menu and tried all the cuts- the meat tasted good with the charcoal flavor but was definitely not at all comparable to places like Fogo De Chao or Plataforma. The meat quality is way lower, more dry and fatty, and was also a lot thinner. They also only serve the first round on the hot plate and then the subsequent rounds were all on regular small plastic plates that were hard to cut on. If you're looking to get a regular grill experience in Astoria then this is a good place. But at its price point I would rather go to Fogo or Plataforma. Since it's new it may take them a while to get their groove but hopefully they improve the quality in the future. Would not return for now but it glad we tried it! read more

So I came here to celebrate a birthday and I must admit after seeing the ads on instagram it's a bit misleading in real life . I came with a party of four . We was placed immediately however our tables space was very small for our party so they had to combine two small tables together to accommodate us . We all tried the unlimited AYCE option ,you only get one tray with the unlimited items yuca , plantain, fried ribs , and baby potatoes on it to share amongst all parties included but they charge you per person individually . So everyone that wants the AYCE option doesn't have their own appetizer tray just a meats tray. The food was ok, the meats weren't cooked or seasoned well enough for me despite my instructions given at the grill station, if I had to make a request it would be to keep a knife for pork separate from the steak knives and not to cut everything all with the same knife . They did that with me but If I don't eat pork I wouldn't want my steak cut with a pork knife or cooked on the same grill.. ijs , the ambiance is really nice , they have a stage area and low lighting followed by a nice bar area .
