My friend was trying to tweak her hookah to her liking. We were here when they were doing karaoke there was maybe 5 ppl in the place. I ordered a Don julio Reposado which I always drink first I noticed my drink was very clear when I mentioned it to the bartender she poured a little in a shot glass and yes it was clear which we know it's not supposed to be at all. Went here for a date and had an amazing experience. The outdoor seating is in a good location spread out so you have space from the other customers. Inside it was pretty empty but they had some music playing. Staff took care of you, but also gave you space. The chicken tacos were delish and the 68 hookah was perfect. No burning in the throat later. They change the coals too without a problem. The only disappointment was the sangria. Good place for hookah and a drink, but they tried to charge us a higher price than what it shows online and on the menu available via QR codes in the restaurant. They refused to add more coals to the hookah without buying another bowl (which they wanted to charge more than what was shown on the menu, they said the price was $20) and the menu clearly said you could get more coals for $2. After my pre-birthday dinner at Pink Nori, I had a few Hookah spots bookmarked on my evite so me and my friends decided to come to Deja Vu. Wow when we arrived, it was emptied but better for us to get the table by the window then added another table to fit the 7 of us. My friends mostly ordered drinks and we went with a Peach flavor Hookah and it was delicious inhaling and exhaling it lol Slowly a few people were chilling and the bar. Tiny bar off the beating path that offers great happy hour everyday. Start off with $4 draft beer, $5 wine, $6 wells and $7 hookah from 6-9pm, Thursday to Saturday. This is the happy hour I'm talking about since you don't have to rush cuz it would end at 7. Bartender is very friendly, plus they have my favorite beer on draft. If you get there around 6 or 7, you can really enjoy your solitude. Food was great as well. My friend and I wanted to grab a cocktail and hookah after our dinner around the corner. The bartender with long acrylic nails (pointy shaped) and short hair who works Thursday nights would not serve my friend a drink .... Then I asked for the cocktail menu and she gave it to me. But she had said my friend was inebriated...She was not drunk at all. I thought this was sooooo weird and awkward.. she was more willing to serve me a drink than my friend. . so then we left. We had one cocktail before with our dinner and this bartender said we were drunk ? This was absolutely ridiculous, she seemed new and nervous because she said her managers were watching she said. We ordered hookah, beers and food. Waitress came back after half an hour telling us the beer we asked for needs a keg change, so it'll be a not longer. She came back about 15 minutes later telling us turned out they ran out of that kind of beer so we ordered something else. Beers then came with hookah, after I was done with my beer, then I asked for another beer. An hour passed, my beer never came and store started to pack the chairs and close down. My friends and I were looking to smoke so we wandered into Deja Vu on a Saturday night. The space is small, loud, and dark. It's more of a bar than a hookah bar. There is no lounge seating, mostly bar stools and tables. The music playing is blaring. You can barely hear anyone at your table. I ordered their sangria, which was surprisingly good. Normally a place in the city has hookah for you and your friends for 20~. It was refreshing to see a hookah bar for $7. That being said the lounge itself was empty when I walked in, save for the easily identifiable owners sitting at the bar. My friend and I ordered a blue mist shisha flavor. Now seeing a Starbuzz flavor so cheap immediately had me skeptical. While the initial flavor seemed to be right, the more hits I took, the less it tasted like Starbuzz. It seemed like it was a mix between Starbuzz and Al Fakher, but hey for 7$ that's already pretty good. I disliked the fact that they used instant light coals, they burn a bit too hot and are packed with gunpowder. They should switch to coconut based coals, they're easier to control heat and don't leave a funny aftertaste. I did wish that the water bottles that we got were a bit cheaper. 3$ for water seems a bit disproportionate to a 7$ hookah. read more

Me and a friend checked out 4 different kinda martinis for happy hour & they all tasted soo good -- the bartender/waitress hooked up the drinks so well & she was really nice too. Also tried apple-mint hookah and surprisingly, the quality of it was up to the par and didn't end up giving me a headache. The hummus was very flavorful but my favorite had to be the Sudjuk (Bulgarian dry salami) pizza.. It tasted fresh & different since it wasn't your traditional pizza on marinara sauce but vegetable spread instead. With a beautiful interior design, strong drinks, and a cozy intimate atmosphere, Deja Vu lent for a very fun night out. We ventured out here for my best friends birthday and overall had a great time. The first drink I ordered was the Caipirinha, a Brazilian drink I've had before at some family events (a cousin of mine is Brazilian) and found it a bit too strong. I'm not sure if it was made with the Brazilian sugar that it is supposed to be made with. Either way, it was strong so I switched over to what my friend was drinking, Jameo and ginger. I'm not a big jameson fan after some horrific incidents with the beverage, but I did find this strong drink perfect for the mood. And at $8 it was great to enjoy a top shelf liquor. I love that this place carries it's romantic theme in every nook and cranny, even to the bathrooms. I'm a big clean bathroom stickler and Deja Vu kept theirs smelling fresh, clean, and can I say pretty? I've never called a bathroom pretty before, but the decor was splendid. The only downside other than that my Caipirinha was finding parking, but that's what you get when you're in Astoria/Queens/anywhere in the city. Grabbed a couple of drinks here with my cousin on a Sat night. The space was way smaller than we expected, but it did have a cozy feel and was nicely decorated. The vibe kinda felt like living room meets night life, (yeah that's weird but whatever. check out the pictures I took!). Originally we planned to do some hookah with another friend who was meeting us but decided to leave because of the tight space, and REALLY loud music (we wanted to be able to have conversation.) There was a table all the way at the end of the bar (with no chairs) and when we wanted to order some drinks, a man who I think was the owner went to go grab some chairs for us which I thought was nice of him. So points for that! I got a drink with champagne and lychee juice and my cousin got the cucumber mojito. Both were good. I'd like to stay a bit longer to get more of a feel for the place. This is a small bar that was a bit packed for karaoke. I ordered buffalo wings and a beer. The wings were a bit salty so I didn't finish them. A waiter came up to us to clear our table and asked if I liked the wings. I said that they were a bit too salty and when our other waiter came with the check, she said that they had removed the wings from our bill since we didn't like it. I came here on a Thursday night around 11:30pm after having dinner around the block, for a hookah & a night cap with my friend and for whatever reason the bartender with a short pixie cut & long acrylic nails did not serve me a drink because she assumed I was already drunk. I'm not quite sure what might have given her that impression that I was drunk but right before I was ready to order she approached me and said "I'm sorry I don't wanna serve you because u seem to be inebriated and my managers are watching me". This place is really a unique gem on a quiet block in Astoria. You wont miss is walking by because the music is blasting, you'll hear down the block. I always have a good time here. Maybe they were just having an off night when I went, but I had quite a strange experience at Deja Vu. I took some friends out here because it was nearby my apartment and I bought the Yelp deal. I showed up around 9pm on a Friday night and we were the only customers in the place. We ordered food and drinks, neither of which came out quite right. The food came out really late because someone was inspecting their kitchen. The server gave it to us for free because of the wait, and when it did come it was pretty good. But none of us really liked how our drinks were made. The atmosphere was cool with some sort of disco lights flashing around, but it just felt so awkward because we were the only 3 people in the whole bar. The server kept telling us that if we wait a little bit then a lot more people would be come in for dancing later on. When we left at 11:30pm, only 2 more people had come in and both seemed a little sketchy. The drinks here are cheap and usually that wins me over easily, but it definitely did not in this case. Literally sugar and water with two pieces of fruit. Needless to say it remained untouched. The music was as follows: one good song, three awkward/hard core songs.
