La comida es muy buena pero el servicio hace que me sienta como en casa. Gracias a Rubby que hace muy buen trabajo.

Located conveniently by the train station. Very friendly staff. It is about $5 for one taco. I ordered 3x al pastor and 3x birria tacos. Overall pretty standard tacos! There is a lot of filling per taco which is a huge plus :) read more

This place has been added to my recommendations of taco spots. The food here is really good. I went with a group of friends and we each got a good amount of food. We had about 7 tacos, 1 burrito, consome soup, 5 drinks and it all came out to less than $100. Nice to note is that they have a seating area in the back of the spot, so it's nice that there is a dining in area. However, some heat in the back would be nice. The chicken tacos that I got were really good, cilantro and onions added, the sauces were a great touch to it, especially the orange looking one which was super spicy, something you'll love if you're a person that loves spice. I'll definitely be recommending this place to all my friends and famiyl. read more

Unfortunately I found a hair in my food, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and food handling practices. Incidents like this suggest a lack of proper sanitation measures and adherence to basic food safety standards. I hope management takes this matter seriously and reinforces protocols such as hair restraints and cleanliness to prevent similar experiences for future customers. read more

Great service, authentic food. Parking is pretty terrible, (street parking, one ways) I have only gone late night so maybe its better during the day? Guac and chips are amazing. Obsessed with the Mexican Caesar Salad with perfectly marinated dark meat chicken. They have a cute little dining room in the back with a couple tables & a sauce bar. Have gotten this to go & it is packed well & mostly survives the 45 minute ride home. read more

This is not worth the price. If you've ever had west coast Mexican food, this will make you upset. If you've only had nyc Mexican food, I assume this will be okay. read more

My go to birria taco spot when I can't get to the truck in Jackson Heights. Every single item I've tried here has been delish! The fish tacos are really good as well. And they are not stingy with the amount of meat the put in anything you order. read more

Great local spot to get authentic Mexican food located underneath the Woodhaven station. Incredibly easy to place an order online (especially if you need to make modifications) -- they even have a reward system on their website. I ordered: * Al Pastor Taco * Carnitas Taco * Carne Asada flour Quesadilla ($10.80) with extra lettuce for 85 cents * Lengua Flour Quesadilla ($11.90) with guacamole for $1.95 I'm from the Bay Area and these tacos very much reminded me of the tacos I used to get at home. They're loaded with fresh toppings, grilled onion, cilantro, and radishes. The quesadillas were very filling with lettuce, meat, and cheese. They are amazing with the salsa habanero, you have to get it if you love spicy, otherwise the green salsa is a mild alternative. I'm definitely returning back to try out their burritos and other dishes. I'm glad I stumbled across this place. read more

it was ok nachos weren't great the cheese wasn't even melted fully, tacos were mid more like a 2am drunk spot

Outstanding taqueria. The tacos here are as good as any street style tacos that I've had anywhere in NYC, Austin, San Francisco, or Mexico City. The value here is excellent too. Tacos range from $3ish to $5 which is great for a taco post inflation. We shared six tacos. The best was the alambra. It's one of their house special and is listed on the last page of the menu. It should be one the first page. It's a must order! We both really liked the birria taco too. I was also a big fan of the cabeza tacos which were ultra tender and the lechuga which were super succulent. The pastor taco was great too. The only taco which I wouldn't recommend was the suadero which was dry. It provided an opportunity to try their sauces which were superb, so I'm glad we ordered it because it prompted me to try the sauces. No alcohol here. The have a takeout counter plus seating for approximately twenty in the back. There was one waitress managing the seating area and she was great. Very attentive and kept the area very clean. There was one gender neutral restroom. It was handicap accessible and spacious. It had an auto lock feature which was cool. read more

Authentic street tacos and delicious. Everything ordered was great, will definitely order again

This place is so good! Their birrea tacos are sooo delicious ! As well as their pastor tacos. I didn't take a pic of them because I gobbled them down! Lol read more

La Ruta Del Taco needs to start bottling and selling their sauces because they don't know the magic that they bring. I wasn't aware of the secret sauce until I dined in for the first time. My partner and I ordered a variety of tacos, a steak quesadilla, and loaded nachos and we moved to the seating area to see a cooler with sauces and pickled onions for toppings. The tacos alone are amazing with the tender meat, great seasoning, and fresh herb garnish. But pair these tacos with one or all of their sauces? *cue chef's kiss* Wow. All the sauces with the exception of the guacamole sauce pack the perfect amount of heat to have your mouth salivating without the killer effects of a ghost pepper. All the sauces are extremely flavorful and I would take the whole cooler of salsa roja, salsa verde, habanero, and guac sauce if I could. I can't sing the same praise for the steak quesadilla or the nachos because I found them standard, but they can satisfy a common craving. As for the atmosphere, you don't have to worry about being fancy. Wear a pair of sweats and a T-shirt and come out for a spontaneous late night date. The staff behind the counter are very friendly and make you feel welcome. You can feel the authenticity from the people and the decor on the walls. They have a beautiful portrait of a working Mexican woman and also had sombreros lying around on Cinco de Mayo. Casual and fun. La Ruta Del Taco has become a favorite late night hangout spot for me. It's only a matter of time before the word spreads and I'm not the only one waiting in line. Until then I'll happily enjoy my late night tacos in peace. read more

I ordered via Uber eats last night on a whim, the birria tacos combo. The consume was good and the tacos were filled with tender beef but the food was missing salt and some seasoning for sure. I wish they came with cheese. The price is great though and their green sauces are delicious. If the food had more seasoning I would have loved that. Willing to try something again but maybe not birria. read more

People are looking for some of the best tacos tostadas around? Short of some places in the jackson heights area, this is it. Los Tacos No1 in the city is alright and Taco Veloz is probably the best i've had in NYC but this place is a really stinking solid. My go to is the carnitas tostadas. It even comes with a little avocado and some nice stringy cheese on top. A big plus is you can order ahead even on grubhub unlike at a place like taco veloz. read more
