This was the second time I came to this place and everything tasted as authentic as always. On top of the street/backyard ambiance vibe with intimate settings with overhead mini lights, and a two stands for cocktails/bar and a food stand where workers are making the tacos, quesadillas and the freshly made salsa, my partner and I ordered two orders of carne asada and shrimp tacos (not pictured- since they were so good, we finished it so fast). The tacos were memorable since it wasn't two separate entities of food plus the taco shell- it felt like one entity where the filling blended in with the shell and the shell coated the food so perfectly that the meat and flavoring melted into your mouth so well it vanished in an instant. I mixed the red salsa with the sauce it came with and it had a good spicy kick that eventually went away but it was delicious. We also got two cocktails- the pina collada and I got a strawberry mezcalita. The drinks were strong but still tasty, not too bitter to swallow and the music they were playing were catchy and nostalgic. we also got churros with fudge chocolate that came out warm and crunchy. the prices weren't crazy for the size of the food and it is definitely à la carte but it was definitely a night to remember. read more

I love the vibe and interior here, and how friendly the staff are. I got the vegan burrito and I really liked the unique filling and how it's not like other basic veggie burritos because I don't really like those lol. The burrito was slightly sweet from the sweet potato, but also sour and spicy from the sauce. I think I would've enjoyed it more tho with a heavier or cream based sauce. "An authentic taste of Mexico" in New York, Miami and dirty D.C. - the crime rate there is unsettling, such as we've got here and its becoming very dirty here, the statistics are friendly fluffed as the streets crumble below my feet. Dude started it in a VW bus in Mexico apparently and like most of my peers that ever sat in one, they're cool as the underside of the pillow. Combi is a bus I think, my bilingual skills are atrocious so I had to look that word up. Food was alright- I had a vegan burrito that was pretty good but it was spicy enough that it needed some cream or nondairy cheese. However, the service was abysmal. They brought us the wrong burrito (and then charged us for it?) and the drinks came out after we finished eating even though we were the only people there! My friend and I ate here last night and absolutely loved it! The restaurant has ample seating and is adorable with the string lights. The servers and staff here are so friendly and welcoming. What is really incredible, though, is the food. The homemade salsas are amazing with the perfect spice. The chips are made in house snd the guac... you can tell it's authentic and fresh. Took my family to Tacombi after an afternoon out, and we had a great time. My mom ordered the carne asada burrita, while my brother and I went for the rib eye burrita. The rib eye version came stuffed with seared ribeye, French fries, Chihuahua cheese, and refried beans. The flavors were delicious. The sharp bite of the Chihuahua cheese really stood out but we wished there was more steak and fewer fries since the burrito leaned HEAVY on the potatoes. My mom's carne asada burrita, on the other hand, was perfect. Every ingredient felt balanced, and the cabbage added just the right crunch and brightness. The green and red salsas were both so good spicy, tangy, and full of flavor. Came for Taco Tuesday Lunch and were happily surprised they had a BOGO deal for Tuesdays- we came on the right day! The interior has many tables and lots of seats available. Each table comes with its own coat/bag hanger. And there's a sink for customers to use because we know tacos can get pretty messy! I think those little details to attention are worth noting! In terms of food, we ordered 2 Baja crispy Fish tacos, a beef birria taco and a crispy chicken tinga taco. I usually order the fried fish tacos everywhere I would normally order tacos so I was expecting a lot since it usually is my favorite by far. However, these Baja crispy fish tacos while crispy to perfection, was lacking in flavor and badly falling apart in our hands with a single bite. We found that while the birria and the chicken tinga tacos were double tortilla-ed, the fish ones were single which is our guess as to why they were the only ones falling apart and not the other ones! The birria taco was very good! It came with consomé on the side but wasn't really needed as the taco itself was already very flavorful and packed with so much meat. The chicken tinga one was also flavorful with a slight kick of welcomed spice! For drinks I ordered the Agua de Sandia which is basically watermelon juice, and my friend ordered the horchata. The drinks here were a bit lacking in flavor. The horchata wasn't creamy but more like cinnamon water. Slightly disappointing there. My husband and I found this spot last year while visiting Forest Hills for a live show. We opted to try it again this year while on the same trip and it was once again delicious! Went on a Saturday around noon and there was no wait. Everyone was very friendly, food came quickly, and they even gave us a test of an upcoming menu item - chicken tortilla soup! This place is walking distance for me and my husband so we come here when we're craving an authentic taco compared to just fast food. Service is usually great and they have decent promotions on Taco Tuesdays! I love their horchatas.. ask for it with a shot of tequila and it's icing on the cake. I really enjoyed the carne asada and Sinaloa shrimp tacos. The steak was cooked to perfection and was tender. It came with jalapenos and onions. The shrimp taco was a flavor exposion. It came with pickled onions, melted cheese and avocado. The melted cheese and avocado made this such a luxurious bite. FYI, the tacos are on the smaller size but fair for the $5-6 price per each. Went to Tacombi in Forest Hills for brunch, I've visited many Tacombi locations before, but this was my first time at this one. It stayed very consistent with the others: a large, airy space, open kitchen, great food and friendly, attentive service. We started with the watermelon juice, which was fresh and hydrating, along with the guacamole and chips and the corn esquites. Everything was bright, fresh, and full of flavor. They're in the process of rolling out a chicken tortilla soup, and they kindly brought us a small cup to try, it was fantastic and deeply flavorful. Definitely looking forward to seeing that officially added to the menu. For my main, I ordered a breakfast taco (egg, no meat) and the beef birria taco. I hadn't tried either before at Tacombi. The Beef Birria taco was really good, mostly due to the great consime. I should have ordered more tacos to go with the generous amount of consome I got. Might I start off by saying: this restaurant is exceptionally well managed, which you can almost always tell in a restaurant when the manager is on the front line helping with orders instead of idling around. The tables are clean, great music and decor inside. We got the lemon lime soda, the agua fresca in watermelon, chips and guac to start. For tacos, we got crispy fish, al pastor, and shrimp. All of them were fresh and hot, topped with a generous amount of protein, and came out in a timely manner. Not surprisingly the fried fish one is my favorite. Crisp flakey cod with the right amount of toppings, not too salty or saucy. Yum. The winning touches for me was the house hot sauce (which they unfortunately do not sell by the bottle) the aptly named "Taco Hand Wash" station which is so clever and convenient.
