It came with pickled onions, melted cheese and avocado. The melted cheese and avocado made this such a luxurious bite. FYI, the tacos are on the smaller size but fair for the $5-6 price per each. I love the vibe and interior here, and how friendly the staff are. I got the vegan burrito and I really liked the unique filling and how it's not like other basic veggie burritos because I don't really like those lol. The burrito was slightly sweet from the sweet potato, but also sour and spicy from the sauce. I think I would've enjoyed it more tho with a heavier or cream based sauce. The tortilla itself wasn't as soft as I'm used to in other flour tortillas, which is why I prefer flour over corn, but I did enjoy the chew on this one. read more

My friend and I ate here last night and absolutely loved it! The restaurant has ample seating and is adorable with the string lights. The servers and staff here are so friendly and welcoming. What is really incredible, though, is the food. The homemade salsas are amazing with the perfect spice. The chips are made in house snd the guac... you can tell it's authentic and fresh. It's not made with olive oil so it's GOOD!! The tacos... to die for. The avocado tostada is amazing and vegetarian friendly. I also tried the crispy chicken tinga and it was phenomenal. Took my family to Tacombi after an afternoon out, and we had a great time. My mom ordered the carne asada burrita, while my brother and I went for the rib eye burrita. The rib eye version came stuffed with seared ribeye, French fries, Chihuahua cheese, and refried beans. The flavors were delicious. The sharp bite of the Chihuahua cheese really stood out but we wished there was more steak and fewer fries since the burrito leaned HEAVY on the potatoes. My mom's carne asada burrita, on the other hand, was perfect. Every ingredient felt balanced, and the cabbage added just the right crunch and brightness. Came for Taco Tuesday Lunch and were happily surprised they had a BOGO deal for Tuesdays- we came on the right day! The interior has many tables and lots of seats available. Each table comes with its own coat/bag hanger. And there's a sink for customers to use because we know tacos can get pretty messy! I think those little details to attention are worth noting! In terms of food, we ordered 2 Baja crispy Fish tacos, a beef birria taco and a crispy chicken tinga taco. I usually order the fried fish tacos everywhere I would normally order tacos so I was expecting a lot since it usually is my favorite by far. However, these Baja crispy fish tacos while crispy to perfection, was lacking in flavor and badly falling apart in our hands with a single bite. We found that while the birria and the chicken tinga tacos were double tortilla-ed, the fish ones were single which is our guess as to why they were the only ones falling apart and not the other ones! The birria taco was very good! It came with consomé on the side but wasn't really needed as the taco itself was already very flavorful and packed with so much meat. The chicken tinga one was also flavorful with a slight kick of welcomed spice! For drinks I ordered the Agua de Sandia which is basically watermelon juice, and my friend ordered the horchata. The drinks here were a bit lacking in flavor. The horchata wasn't creamy but more like cinnamon water. Slightly disappointing there. Went on a Saturday around noon and there was no wait. Everyone was very friendly, food came quickly, and they even gave us a test of an upcoming menu item - chicken tortilla soup! Looking forward to that being a seasonal menu item. All of the food was very fresh, will definitely be going again. We had 2 tacos each, shared small guac between two and shared the corn. This place is walking distance for me and my husband so we come here when we're craving an authentic taco compared to just fast food. Service is usually great and they have decent promotions on Taco Tuesdays! I love their horchatas.. ask for it with a shot of tequila and it's icing on the cake. Went to Tacombi in Forest Hills for brunch, I've visited many Tacombi locations before, but this was my first time at this one. It stayed very consistent with the others: a large, airy space, open kitchen, great food and friendly, attentive service. We started with the watermelon juice, which was fresh and hydrating, along with the guacamole and chips and the corn esquites. Everything was bright, fresh, and full of flavor. They're in the process of rolling out a chicken tortilla soup, and they kindly brought us a small cup to try, it was fantastic and deeply flavorful. Definitely looking forward to seeing that officially added to the menu. For my main, I ordered a breakfast taco (egg, no meat) and the beef birria taco. I hadn't tried either before at Tacombi. The breakfast taco was satisfying, but the beef birria really stood out, rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with the cheese, meat, and dipping broth coming together beautifully. My mother and I had lunch at Tacombi on Sunday afternoon. We very much enjoyed the restaurant's setup; yet the simplicity filled with beautiful decor. It reminds me of a typical local restaurant in Mexico City. Very nice vibes and set up. We ordered three chicken tacos, one fish taco and one chicken quesadilla that we happily shared. And for drinks we of course enjoyed two bottles of Lupita Sodas; felt like I was in Mexico with the vibrant flavor. Haha! Our meal was so delicious, authentic and super tasty. Well done chef! Might I start off by saying: this restaurant is exceptionally well managed, which you can almost always tell in a restaurant when the manager is on the front line helping with orders instead of idling around. The tables are clean, great music and decor inside. We got the lemon lime soda, the agua fresca in watermelon, chips and guac to start. For tacos, we got crispy fish, al pastor, and shrimp. All of them were fresh and hot, topped with a generous amount of protein, and came out in a timely manner. Not surprisingly the fried fish one is my favorite. Crisp flakey cod with the right amount of toppings, not too salty or saucy. Yum. The winning touches for me was the house hot sauce (which they unfortunately do not sell by the bottle) the aptly named "Taco Hand Wash" station which is so clever and convenient. Came for take out and food was not good. Service was not good. We got corn esquites, large guac, fish tacos, al pastor tacos, baja taco, quesadilla and pollo burrito. We also got 2 watermelon drinks. The 1 star is for the tacos which were okay. $15 for a large guac that came in a small takeout container is highway robbery. The burrito was 65% wrap and not enough chicken. Most of it was cabbage. Corn esquites was not sweet corn, just dried and heavily doused in mayo in a coffee takeout cup. They also charged us for an item that they said was not available to even get.
