Located inside Tangram Mall food court in downtown Flushing is Birria Landia. What makes this stand out is that Tangram caters to a primarily Asian population, so having a taco stand really sticks out. Ambience - the storefront is designed to look like a food truck, a call out to Birria Landia's humble beginnings as a food truck. You get your food, but will have to look for a table in the food court. Food - Birria Tacos - shredded tender savory pieces of beef served in a corn tortilla. Having had authentic Mexican tacos in Jackson Heights, I can say that this is the real deal. This is really good stuff. 4/5. Consommé - the beef broth that you can use as a dip for the tacos, or drink like a soup. It is hearty, rich, and contains chunks of beef. 4/5 TL/DR: if you are eating with Family at Tangram mall and you want something other than Asian food, run over to the two food truck. You won't be disappointed!

I decided to try Birria Landia after downloading the app Fantuan and they me $10 credit. One of the few places that accepted the coupon was Birria Landia bc I think it's the newest addition to this mall. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality & freshness of both what I got. The condiment were great with the sour onions, green salsa and the hot sauce which thankfully was tasteful and not spicy intolerable. I used the app so it was scheduled and I knew they would take at least 20 minutes to complete my order but they finished earlier. It wasn't too busy even on a Friday early afternoon so it was quick. I ate in the food court and it was busy but thankfully not that full where I got a table and can eat. It was warm and delicious! I am glad I ate right then and there instead of opting for pick up. Definitely would go back another time.

For years we've loved the Jackson Heights food truck. This was my first time at the Tangram location. It was easy to order at the kiosk. Prices were higher, but that was to be expected considering the rents they must be paying now. Unfortunately the food court was so crowded there were no tables available. Tacos were soggy by the time we got home, but still very tasty.

BLUF: Tasty; small portions; very salty. Birria-Landia, which popularized birria tacos in New York City starting with a food truck in Jackson Heights, Queens, has branched out to open several brick-and-mortar locations, including this one inside Tangram Mall's Food Court in Downtown Flushing. We visited twice and ordered: - Beef Birria Tacos: $4.75 each; $5.17 with tax. - Beef Consommé, small: $6.00; $6.53 with tax. - Mulita: $6.00 each; $6.53 with tax. - Chicken Birria Tacos $4.50 each; $4.90 with tax. - Chicken Consommé, small: $6.00; $6.53 with tax. Get the consommé. The tacos and their variations, such as the mulita tacos, may be purchased without consommé, but the consommé is an important pairing that provides moisture and tang. The chicken tacos in particular were dry without the consommé. While Birria-Landia is worth trying at least once, the food here is very salty. Although we found the beef tacos were less salty and the beef birria less acidic than what we've had from the original Jackson Heights food truck, the small portions and overall saltiness of the food means that we'll remain occasional customers. Other: There is an approximate 5% fee for card payments. Tangram Mall provides cafeteria style seating and restrooms, but be forewarned that those restrooms are poorly maintained.

Looking for a quick lunch and something different at Tangram Mall besides the usual Asian food and Birria Landia was right in front of us. I've heard it's a bit more expensive to order here than the Jackson Heights but this location is convenient and doesn't hurt that there's plenty of seating when you aren't there at peak hours. Ordered some chicken and pork tacos (total of 5), and a beef salad for about $42. The tacos are divine. You know when you take a bite out of something and you just nod your head? That was my entire meal. So much flavor packed into that tortilla with loads of ingredients meticulously packed in. The salad/rice bowl was a good option when you want to expand more on the ingredients and less with the tortilla. This is a great, solid option for when you want a break from the other spots at this mall. Flavor profile is top notch and you'll leave with a happy bounce in your step.

Never made it to the famous Jackson Heights food truck that other Yelpers keep talking about in their reviews. But never mind that, their first physical location is finally opened inside the Tangram Mall in Flushing! The outer appearance is similar to a food truck complete with two tires which I thought it's pretty cute because they did start off as a food truck back then. Customers can order either on the kiosk or at the counter. They accept both cash and card as forms of payment. Female staff is super friendly, helpful and patient in explaining to me about the variety of tacos on the menu. What I'd Ordered: 2x Asada (Beef) Tacos (1 pc each) - $9.50 1x Chorizo (Pork Sausage) Taco (1 pc) - $4.75 1x Guacamole and Chips - $7.00 1x Jarritos Mexican Orange Soda - $3.00 Food came out very fast in 5-6 mins. You wait for the # on the receipt to be called out by the staff. Your order is also shown on the LED screen as well as getting a text message when it's ready. The tacos would cost more than the food truck because it's inside the convenience of a mall. And since it's at a food court, you don't have to worry about not being able to find a restroom/wash your hands nor searching for a place to sit down to enjoy your food. A food court solves all of that because the bathroom is right around the corner and there're plenty of tables and chairs spread out in the area. 1) Beef Tacos: Tender + flavorful + not too salty. Just wished that the meat pieces could've been bigger in size. 2) Pork Sausage Taco: Tender & flavorful but seems to be saltier than the beef. Little bit spicy too but that gives it a kick. The meat can be bigger in chunks. The combo of diced onions + tomatoes + cilantro gives off a refreshing taste. The guacamole is fresh and creamy on top of the meat inside the tacos. I feel like it would have been a good deal if they can do 3 tacos for $12-13 like other taco spots in the city. 3) Guac & Chips: The guacamole is creamy and has enough amount as a dip for the crunchy & not too salty chips. 4) Jarritos Mexican Orange Soda: Tastes like any orange soda out there but looks slicker in a bottle. I think Birria Landia does stand out and bring something different to the table because other eateries and restaurants next door and inside Tangram are mainly of Asian cuisines.

When I heard that Birria Landia was opening an actual location I was super excited. I been a huge fan of their Jackson heights truck since 2020 but hate it that I could never get their food before 5pm since that's when the truck opens. This location its located in the mall's food court. We got 3 tacos, a mulita and a small consome. Once you order they have a screen with your order number and name telling you long is your wait. Our food took about 10 mins to come out. Everything was delicious but I did find it a tad bit spicier than the food from the truck. I'm super happy to have another location to get amazing Birria tacos

Newly opened 1st Brick & Mortar spot for Birria Landia. Was in the area and saw that there was no line (4:30 PM on Mother's Day), so decided to try them out. You can order at the counter or at the kiosk. I opted to order at the counter. The service was friendly. I paid with card and my receipt has an "operating fee" of $1.06, so maybe pay with cash. The order status screen initially showed 13 minutes for my order to be ready but it only took 3 minutes. I got 3 Tacos and a small Consomme. At $4.75 a taco (before the taxes and fees!), they feel a little small. The flavor is great with the added Consomme, pickled onions and hot sauce. The meat was tender and not dry. The tortilla held together after the 1 hour it took for me to get home and eat. The Consomme has a couple big chunks of meat in it. The saltiness of the broth was balanced with the pickled onions. I could have used another lime to balance the flavors even more. The hot sauce has a good kick to it, and the pickle onions had a tiny bit of spicy as well. Overall happy to see Birria Landia here, since it is more convenient then trekking it to their food trucks, but you're definitely paying extra for that convenience. I'd really only get if I was craving birria tacos.

Yay! Finally a good taco place in Downtown Flushing. My boyfriend and I are always on the hunt to try authentic tacos but it's usually always a trip outside of Flushing. Apparently, this place started out as a food truck which I have never been to before they started opening actual storefronts. The pricing is a bit steep because it's located inside the Tangram Food Court, but it's absolutely worth it if you want to save time. I got the Boing Guava Juice, Birria Chicken Taco, Chorizo Taco, and the Birria Beef Taco. The Chorizo Taco was my least favorite but it was still good especially with the guacamole on it. The taco with birria beef was very flavorful and good, but my favorite had to be the Birria taco with chicken because of the crisp tortilla. The guava juice is very concentrated and not too sweet. Will definitely be back to satisfy my taco cravings. The place has 2 kiosks for you to order on your own and even so there's a long wait. Just in time for you to scavenge a seat in the food court!

I am so excited the owners opened a storefront since I could never make it to their food trucks. This is a new location right in the Tangram mall. Very accessible if you are in downtown Flushing. I was greeted by a beautiful young ladies who was excited to introduce their birria to me. I was able to quickly order and wait. In about 5 minutes or so my food was ready for pick up. There were plenty of seating in the food court. The food comes with a side of pickled onions & hot sauce. I took my tacos, dip in that flavor bomb consommé and took a bite. Hmmm... The meat is tender and juicy, the broth is savory but not too salty like some places I've been to. It is authentically good!! Will come for more for sure!!!

I've been wanting to try this taco, so glad it's now open in flushing. So convenient and Chill inside the mall, what a great addition to the already awesome food court. I got the taco, torta and small consume. I get why it's so popular. Everything is so flavorful. First time eating Birria taco, and I'm a fan. I do like the torta a little bit more. Don't miss the consume! I saw people ordering just the taco, feel so wrong IMO

This Birria Landia Location is located inside a mall on the 2nd floor food hall in Flushing NY. Highly recommend trying this spot as their tacos and consume are so flavorful. Service is hospitable, they take your order at the counter and call when your order is ready. Plenty of seating around as it's a food hall. I went on a Tuesday afternoon around lunch time and found plenty of seating. Highly recommend this location!

The place is casual, and the servers became friendlier once I started speaking some Spanish, which is usually the case with spots like this. After ordering, they gave us some chips with salsa. The chips were fine, while the salsa was a tad watery and lightly spicy, which was the theme of the food in general, unfortunately. We started with some sopes, specifically Sopes de Pollo, to share which were around $10 for three of them. They each came with usual accompaniments outside of the chicken, with those being black beans, crumbled cheese, shredded lettuce, and tomato. The portion was nice, but the flavor was a bit too light as it lacked salsa (maybe as we were white folks, but who knows.) I found it a bit bland compared to some other spots and carts needing hot sauce. The other person got their Burrito (pollo also) at the same time, which they seemed to like. My main dish was a Torta (with Al Pastor,) which I think was around $11 or maybe a bit cheaper. It was well-sized as it should be, and as I ordered it "con todo," it came with the usual beans, tomatoes, avocado, lettuce, queso fresco, and jalapeño. The bread and the rest of the ingredients were fine, with the heat level being a bit milder compared to some other places I've been to. The meat wasn't my favorite, not really reminding me of al pastor, as it lacked any pineapple flavor, nor any pieces of pineapple, and it wasn't spiced in any way. It was more similar to general roasted pork, so it wasn't really distinct. This is unfortunate, as otherwise, I would have liked this. I found the Mexican food here on the bland end. I would blame this on us being gringos, but even the salsa was watery, and I can't imagine them cooking a separate type of al pastor specifically for white folks like us. The prices were fine, which is expected for the area, but I wouldn't go back here.
