This place is kind of a dive. I don't mean to say that you shouldn't eat here. On the contrary, the food was pretty good! But I went there today with some family and was hoping to find a Mexican restaurant that's comfortable for eating on the property. It's a really small space, I think there were 4 to 6 tables, and somehow I didn't get that from looking at the yelp reviews. For the food alone, the place is at least worth 4 stars. The Guacamole here is better than at many, many places... freshly made, has enough salt, cilantro... I'm a guac snob, and I liked this. The chips are a typical fried tortilla, and they were good. 3 of us had Quesadillas, one with mushrooms, one with beef, and the other with shrimp. We all liked them. One of us got a burrito, which was pretty hefty, and they liked what they got. Same person got a slice of Tres Leches and a slice of cheesecake and loved them. Service was fine. The place is on a corner with plenty of street parking around (on a Saturday afternoon). It's not much to look at but I would return with a smaller group. read more

Just a heads up that this taco joint is really a take out joint ... they have some seating for about 16 people or so ... they do have table service .......... We were three people so we ordered 9 tacos total; 3 grilled steak, 3 salted beef & 3 grilled chicken .... All were very delicious super fresh & tasty; must add their green sauce to everything & a Lil of their hot sauce ... ask for sour cream & they give you the bottle ... nice !!! I asked them to add peppers onions and tomatoes to my 13.50$ shrimp quesadilla and they charged me 23? With the cost of two beverages . Feeling completely ripped off and will never come here again. I'm not usually a fan of Mexican food so I came in with low expectations. A very small private little place, they took my order rather quickly and prepared it quickly as well. I ordered a steak taco and a shrimp taco as well as pastor Torta. The steak taco left much to be desired. I was a bit disappointed with the portions and the steak was quite bland and unseasoned, but with the lime and red/green sauces it came with, it helped merry the flavors more. The vegetables were chopped unevenly so presentation wise couldve done better in that regard, but as I took a bite, although the steak was tender it left me wanting more spice and salt overall. The shrimp was slightly better, had a nice touch of seasoning on it that was accentuated by the acidity of the lime. The radishes on the tacos also left a nice fresh crunch that helped each bite go down smoothly. My favorite part was the pastor torta, I threw it in my air fryer to add crunch to the outside of what was typical sub bread, but the meat itself was tender, and a good ratio of meat/cheese/vegetables which was helped by avocado that added creaminess to the sandwhich. It was a decent size as well and there seemed to be some sort of a thousand island dressing I thought was solid as well. Was definitely not lacking in flavor comparably to the tacos. All in all, a decent little spot but a bit pricey. $19 for 2 tacos, a torta, and a snapple, perhaps I will try something else on the menu and have a better experience. read more

I have never had to write a negative review before, but this restaurant is ridiculous. I just moved to the neighborhood and live right above Compadres. My issue is their LOUD MUSIC playing early in the morning until late at night when they close. I'm disabled and unable to work, therefore I spend my time at home. I can't even enjoy myself, rest, relax or SLEEP. I don't understand why the music has to be so loud! I went in there a few times to ask them to lower the music and the guy was rude AF! I've called and the same thing, just rude employees altogether. I've read some of the reviews on Google and many of them were bad/negative. I honestly don't care about their food, as I do not eat Mexican food. I just want to be able to rest and sleep at night like everyone else without having to hear loud music underneath me. I hope they just leave and relocate somewhere else Not in a residential area. read more

We used to come here only for the Horchatas and Limonada which are delicious and finally tried the food last week. It's so good we ordered 3x's this week! We've tried the cheese quesadilla, steak and chicken tacos (traditional and American style) and the fresh guacamole with the chips and everything is fresh with no artificial ingredients. I love that the tacos are loaded up with lots of meat and everything is seasoned well. That green hot sauce is just right on everything. The guacamole is really fresh and delicious. The delivery was fast and on time and when we did pick up everything was ready within the time frame. We don't have too many food options in this area and no Mexican ones, so this is a nice addition to the neighborhood. read more

I love this Mexican restaurant. It's nothing big or fancy, but the food is delicious hands down. Their delivery is also always on par! Quick, fresh, and yummy. This is by far the worst restaurant in queens. They're super expensive, they don't get your order right and their customer service is absolutely horrid. I was charged 25$ for two guacamole dips and a chicken quesadilla WITH NO CHIPS INCLUDED! They advertise the chips on their menu but you have to pay for each thing separately. I waited a half hour for just guacamole. They weren't even willing to fix it to make the customer happy. Disgusting. The atmosphere is very plain with the exception of a few sombreros hanging on the walls. The restaurant is small but clean. Our order consisted of steak tacos, chicken tacos, a shared nacho platter, cheese quesadilla, and the Mexican sodas. The tacos come one of two ways : Mexican (just cilantro) or American (lettuce sour cream). I got the American way because I hate cilantro. The chicken was good but I'd pass next time because I don't like dark meat chicken.. the steak though..... dio mio..... HEAVENLY! The nachos were very good too - cheesy goodness! When seeing it from the outside it looks like a cute Mexican deli on the corner. Walking in they have their seating for dining in, fresh homemade sweets and drinks in the coolers. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant, everybody was very friendly. I ordered 3 bistec tacos and it comes with lemons, radishes& hot sauces. The tacos come in 2 flour tortillas with meat of your choice, onions, & cilantro. I drenched my tacos in the sauces and it was soooo good! Definitely satisfied my taco craving for the week. Their food definitely falls into the category of home cooked meals, the shrimp enchiladas are not sloppy or smidgen in any way, the chicken burrito is jam packed with chicken, rice and beans I just wish the sour cream was inside. Their nachos okay their nachos are astonishing, the chips are thick enough to never be stale or soggy. A rare find in the community....authentic Mexican food in a casual setting... staff are very pleasant and eager to help. They seem to do a lot of takeout business. The nachos were spicey and very tasty. We ordered our chicken and steak tacos american style with shredded lettuce, tomato and cheese. The meat was tender and seasoned well. I loved it all, from the fresh homemade nachos, with real chicken, sweet jalapeños, crema, and a melted cheese you'd want to drink! But my mission to try enchiladas was a success, I've never had enchiladas like this, saucey, spicy, and crispy. It managed to fulfill all the wishes of a well rounded dish. The sauce was amazing, I wanted to dip french fries in it! The employees were so nice, the family vibe created a warm ambience which made the entire experience fun. But beware of the flan!!!!!
