I sat at the bar alone and wow was the bartender was so nice! Genuinely so kind and attentive! The food was good! I only got the nachos and I was very pleased!

A friend and I came here for happy hour and totally enjoyed ourselves. El Coyote is a happening restaurant in the heart of Forest Hills, Queens, NYC. In order to explore and appreciate the happy hour menu you would need to sit at the bar. Honestly the bar is quite spacious and has a nice vibe. I'd very much so enjoyed their homely red sangria. I personally thought it was super delicious and quite tasty. If you have two of them I think you'll have a nice buzz. Haha! I'm also a fan of their Modelo beer. Having a cold one will hit the spot. No joke. Now for appetizer, I had an order of flautas, which happens to be fried corn tortillas stuffed with chicken. It was crunchy, flavorful and literally stuffed with lots of chicken that was tendered and yummy. All this was $4 USD. The services here was very relaxing and welcoming. Our bartender was always smiling and ready to serve us considering the restaurant was packed that evening. I like that they have happy hours on the weekends too at certain time. I recommend reaching out to the restaurant for accurate time frame they do happy hour. Enjoy!

My first time here at this restaurant and the ambiance was lively especially since it was Cinco de Mayo day. The restaurant was crowded, I ordered a margarita, it was made to perfection. I had the rice and chicken, which was bland so I asked for hot sauce. Service was good, attentive wait staff. Overall, the experience was great.

Dined here for happy hour with a few friends and had a pleasant time! First off the happy hour menu goes on until 7pm and includes both food and drinks. For food we ordered the empanaditas, the flautas, the chimichanga, nachos and mushroom quesadilla. For drinks we got a few rounds of flavored margaritas. Each good item was about $5-$7 on average and was filling. For 3 people the bill ended up being $30 each which is not bad considered we got about 2 drinks per person in addition to the spread.

At first glance you wouldn't think much about this place. but if you enjoy carnitas this is a must, come to spot. our server was super friendly and sat us down really quick. we came in a group and tried different menu items. Their drink are delicious and well worth the price. The mojitos were on point. best dish of the night the Carnitas in green sauce with a side of rice and black beans. Very authentic flavors the meat was tender and juciy.

Never reviewed the restaurant before. I have dined here a handful of times and always have a great experience! Tonight ordered a piña colada, guac and chips, chicken enchiladas and the ceviche. Everything was delicious!!! Love this place , Will definitely continue to come back and highly recommend!

Beef Empanaditas-be careful they come out hot. I have the burning skin proof.

This is an easy favorite go to for a local happy hour spot. I go with the Sangarita's with is the sangria mixed with a margarita. Not a fan of frozen, but it is absolutely delicious for those who like frozen Bevs. Food is easy and simple but delicious so enjoy. They are one of the few places I enjoy the salsa with chips. Thank you for the

I ordered the special steak. My friend ordered a steak off the menu and we both loved it.

The service was amazing! I went on New Year's Eve around 8 and the waitors were so nice. And attentive. The food was fresh and the guacamole was out of this world with the warm chips.

I ordered the short ribs and the five-onion soup again, and both were excellent. The service was spot-on and impressively quick--my food arrived in under 15 minutes. The owner is also really cool; he personally greets guests and makes a point of chatting with the performers to ensure they're comfortable. This is a wonderfully romantic spot. The beautiful flowers add such a nice touch (as I mentioned in my previous review). While it's not fully upscale, it has an elevated, sophisticated vibe that makes you want to dress up for the occasion. Highly recommended!

Well, at least business was "Blooming" due to Mother's Day reservations…read more All jokes aside, I visited this restaurant yesterday for a Mother's Day brunch with a group of eight others. Our reservation had been confirmed the day before by both our host and the restaurant. When I arrived early, I was surprised to find the place jam-packed and clearly overcrowded. The front-of-house staff, along with the presumed owner, seemed overwhelmed and initially could not locate our 12:00 reservation. There were also guests with 11:30 and later reservations that were still waiting to be seated, along with several other groups scheduled around our time. After waiting nearly 50 minutes, talking with others who were also waiting, and watching two other tables be hastily set up and filled, we were finally seated. The table had been quickly wiped down and set with placemats, but it was missing silverware and several glasses. Most of this was resolved fairly quickly, though two people still never received glasses, with one person asking a few times for one. Our clearly overworked waitress brought us water and eventually took our order after a shorter additional wait. I ordered a $6 cappuccino, which was enjoyable, with a moderate amount of foam and a pleasantly bitter flavor without tasting over-roasted. However, another person's $4.50 iced coffee did not seem worth the price, as it appeared to be no more than a 12-ounce glass and was mostly filled with ice. Outside of coffee, the staff was understandably slow with water, with long waits, and we finally got a pitcher near the end of the meal. For my meal, I chose the $16 Poached Browns, which included two poached eggs, pulled pork, an English muffin, hollandaise sauce, and their Bloom hash. Many minutes later, and I mean many, the eggs were properly poached and were the highlight of the dish. The pulled pork, served without any additional sauce, was dry, and the small amount of hollandaise did little to help. The hash on the side lacked crispiness and vegetables, aside from what might have been a tiny piece of chopped yellow pepper. Overall, it was below average but passable. Two others ordered the Make Your Own Omelette for $19, which comes with a choice of three ingredients, the same hash, and bacon. They made two specific requests, both of which our waitress confirmed: first, that they did not want bacon, and second, that they could substitute fries for the hash--regular fries for one person and sweet potato fries for the other. Despite this, both plates arrived with bacon, as you can see in my first photo, where one of them transferred her bacon to my plate. The other person sent her plate back and ended up receiving her Mother's Day meal well after everyone else. The omelette also looked a bit more like a frittata, which I didn't mind. After waiting a while, including finally getting pitchers of water, we finally left after a long and annoying bunch. If this spot indeed had reservation issues, why on earth were they still allowing walk-ins? Why did they tell people it would take 15-20 minutes to seat when it would clearly take 30+? This entire experience was inept from beginning to end. The food this time is closer to a 2, but our experience as a whole was closer to a 1. I would never go back.

We tried to make reservations for 6:30pm, but it gave us an error message that the time had been taken already, so I was assuming that the restaurant would be packed, but it was the opposite when we walked in. There were only two other people there. So I would definitely look into their reservations system. For drinks, I went for the mango margarita. 10/10 recommend the drinks. My margarita was delicious. their cocktail menu looks super fun, they have drinks that come out in little bathtubs and cute presentations. For food, we shared the ahi tuna tostada appetizer which was so good! super fresh and flavorful. For our mains, I got the chicken al pastor tacos (loved the flavors, especially the avocado crema) and he ordered the carne asada tacos, which were also packed with flavor. Portion-wise, for the price, you get three tacos, so it felt very reasonable. The tacos were definitely a hit for both of us. The only small downside was the service towards the end. everything started out great, but once we were done, it took a while to actually get the check and pay. Kinda funny how it took longer to leave than it did to get served. Not a huge deal, but just something to keep in mind if you're on a schedule..they definitely don't rush you out. Overall great vibes, great food, great drinks. I would absolutely come back!

I hate to bring down a mom 'n' pop shop, but this place isn't very good. It's also kinda pricey for Forest Hills and for the quality you get. Sigh. The best dishes we got were the Oxtail Croquettes and the Crispy Salmon. Things started going downhill at the pretty but bizarrely flavored Forest Hills Roll, which inexplicably pairs salmon, tobiko, orange, chives, avocado sauce, and teriyaki mayo. I appreciate a creative/fusion roll, but salmon and orange should never, ever exist on the same plate. Ever. The worst item we got was the Chicken Udon. I'm not sure how aany Asian restaurant could mess up such a staple dish, but in Daikon's case, it's because they used Japanese SOUP udon, not stir-fry udon. As soon as the plate was set, I could tell it was the wrong type of udon, and the udon was massively overcooked. Yes, there are different types of udon and they are meant to be cooked in different ways. They are identifiable by their shapes, storage needs and preparation needs, a memo Daikon clearly missed. Points for loading the dish with veggies, but eating them within the soggy mess of udon was just unpleasant.
