    Brunch Order of Mussels

Dirty Pierre's has been my neighborhood go to for as long as I can remember. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a tiny bar with big drinks, an amazing staff, great customers and a solid vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is always on point. You literally can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the specials are actually special. Brunch has evolved and is slamming. There's something for everyone plus drinks. Go. Enjoy. Then go again...

Brunch was decent overall. The eggs on the Benny were poached well, and the burger patty was cooked just right. Nothing really stood out, though. I did ask for my potatoes extra crispy, but they didn't come out that way. Also, I was curious why there was only one burger option for brunch, and it wasn't even served with an egg option. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself felt a bit dark and cramped[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and while our server was fine, they didn't check back in during the meal to see how everything was. Probably won't be going back in this difficult to find parking area.

The best bar in Forrest Hills, in the heart of historic Station Square. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super tight space, stuck in the 90s in the sweetest way possible.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Fun menu, with some chefy touches on many dishes beyond the usual bar food (I know the pork chop has a loyal cult following) but I usually rock with the reliably solid and sloppy pub burger medium rare, likewise the best I the neighborhood. I recently got a pro tip to go with the molten and pungent house made Garlic Cheese and I was glad I followed her recommendation. Staff are seasoned pros and the crowd is generally full of interesting locals and heavy on longtime regulars befitting its longevity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tight premises especially at the bar encourages conversation between fellow patrons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would say in theory this would be a great spot to hit before or after a show at Forest Hills Stadium which it's basically located at the entrance to but unless you are somehow first in line as soon as the door opens here for the day I can't even imagine getting close to the entrance of the place on a show night.

"Kitchen opens at 5!" But you can't be mad about it when you're in the most fun dive bar in all of Forest Hills. Yes it's giving divey vibes with Cajun charm. The inside has such fun decor that as soon as you walk in you can't help but smile. Couldn't stay for Mussel Tuesday's but you bet your bum I'll be back to try them. Shout out to the dude tending the bar that was super friendly. A High Noon was had by my friend and I as we quickly caught up before heading to our next commitments. Finally, I loved the ode to Queens with the vintage posters. Also fun memorabilia with Jon Fevaro's autograph darning the wall. I am a huge fan so I found this super cool!!! Apparently his family lives in the area. What if I run into him one day? One can dream!

California Club. Big big brunch sandwich. Had to take half of it home. So good!

Incredible. I haven't been here in years, but was sooo glad to have returned. Came here with a couple of friends for brunch on a Sunday. The place is small small, so my expectation was that it would be a while before we could get a table for three. I was wrong, we were seated almost immediately. Maybe we just had good luck. Brunch menu was pretty great -- something for everyone. Some brunch menus are pretty weak, but this had a nice selection of things I probably wouldn't have made at home. I opted to go for the California club. Again, my expectations were blown away. I thought I'd get a small sandwich with some fries. This sandwich was HUGE. I usually clean my plate, but I had to take half the sandwich home. As good out of the container as it was on the plate. Drinks were also great. We had more than a few, including the one that came with brunch. Service as prompt and pleasant. Food was delicious. Ambiance was chill. I can't wait to go back and I'm kicking myself for not returning sooner.

Ok..... I'm gonna gush!! I was born in Forrest Hills and come back to visit my family. I've never been to Dirty Pierre's!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a fantastic place!!!! The character. The charm. The amazing bartenders and servers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The steep stairs to the basement bathroom! The awesome fish tacos. I had such a great time. Jessica served us one night and Matt another. Both amazing humans I hope to see again. To anyone who pitches a fit like a high maintenance teenager..... be patient, and they'll bend over we backwards for you, so chill the f*+k out ;) Thanks again. Cheers-

    Red sangria brunch

Brunch experience Food: ordered the pancakes (fruit cooked within) with a side of salad (substitute bacon) and sangria for my drink order. The pancakes were very well cooked and delicious. You get a large portion (3 large discs). I could not finish it. Having them cook with the fruit is the way to go. The sangria was just okay. The salad was a basic salad mixed greens but the dressing was yummy. Service: server was very nice and attentive. Continued to refill water and refill our second drink order in a timely manner. But was never overbearing. Was there for a while and never felt rushed. Price. Decent price for amount of food... drinks might not be worth it. I've had better brunch drink options for the price. Ambiance: the place is a bit dark and worn in. You can tell people that come here are regulars. This was my first time here. Sat in the back by the window that was covered by some makeshift drape. I was disappointed to see a roach crawling on the drape. Tried to kill it but didn't die so I covered it with the little syrup container. I would love to come back but the roach made me uncomfortable to sit in a dark place for eating and makes me wonder about cleans lines of the kitchen.

Bistro burger with garlic cheese and mashed potatoes.

Nice place. Fast service. Food was good. Bathroom was clean. Waiter messed up my order but it was no big deal so I didn't bother. For my burger I asked for tomato and no onions. I got the reverse. Also garlic cheese looked & tasted like cream cheese which I like but wasn't expecting . Overall everything was pretty good. Mimosas were good .

Is this place wheelchair accessible ? If so, Is there ample room in dining area to accommodate a motorized wheelchair?

Unfortunately we are not. Our building is over 100 years old. Although on nice weather days we have outdoor seating but no bathroom access. Thank you for your inquiry.

I really enjoyed lunch at this place! They've recently rebranded to Austin Street Cafe/Bar & Grill…read more- and they have a sort of diner-esque vibe with a full-service bar ($7 happy hour cocktails!!!) They started us off with a croissant on the house, which was pretty good. Nice attention to detail as it was served with a heart-shaped side of butter. Also part of their happy hour menu are a couple select bar bites. I went for the chicken quesadillas, and it was a hearty portion at their price point. And it had a great flavor - chicken was nice and juicy. Natalie was our server, and was very attentive and friendly throughout our time here. And just when we thought it couldn't get better, Natalie and the manager brought us some cookies on the house to take home. Nothing but praise to be sung about this spot - I hear they're looking into possibly incorporating live music next. Will definitely be back - two thumbs up!

This place has been renamed "Austin Street coffee and grill" and has an updated menu…read more First off, I want to point out the great customer service from the young man working on a Saturday morning. I heard him making jokes with customers and asking people for feedback. Now to the rest of it: service is weird and slow. When we were seated, we had to wait a little bit until receiving menus. Water wasn't automatically given to us also, so you have to ask. A woman took down our order, but later asked if we got waffles, even though I said pancakes - overall took 25 minutes to get our order of a salad and pancakes. Pancake platter came with two pancakes, two eggs, and a couple berries on the side. There's also an option to add sausage or bacon but no price there, which adds to the confusion. When we pointed it out, they removed the charge from our bill. There were maybe 3 people who stood behind the coffee bar which is kind of around a corner, making it hard to get service if you're not in their field of vision. Kind of strange there isn't a clear welcoming desk or something like that. Also, I think the menu uses AI as photos - there's a picture of a burger with fries and chips, but I don't think they serve chips. There's also a picture of cake with garlic next to it, which could be an artistic choice. We didn't get any drinks, but there was a table next to us who abandoned their full cups of Nutella lattes which was interesting.

The Food The cooking…read morehere is the real thing -- not the flattened, one-note version of Indian food that so many places settle for, where everything arrives tasting vaguely of the same sauce. At Tikka n' Talk, the spicing has genuine architecture. Each dish has its own personality, its own balance, its own arc from first bite to last. You taste individual spices rather than a generic wall of heat, and there's a depth underneath that only comes from someone who actually knows what they're doing. The tikka is outstanding and lives up to the name -- properly charred at the edges, smoky from real high-heat cooking, and still tender inside. That combination is harder to pull off than it looks, and getting it right every time takes skill. The curries have body and complexity. Sauces that have clearly been built rather than assembled, with layers that reveal themselves as you eat. Nothing is greasy, nothing is heavy in the bad way, and nothing tastes like it came out of a can. The bread deserves its own mention. Fresh, blistered, warm -- the kind you keep tearing off pieces of long after you're full. The Room and the Service The name isn't accidental. This is a place designed for lingering, and the atmosphere delivers on it. Warm, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming without being fussy. It's the kind of room where conversation flows easily, where you settle in without noticing an hour has passed. The staff are a huge part of that. Warm, attentive without hovering, and clearly happy you came. They know the menu cold and will steer you well if you ask -- including on spice levels, which they'll actually calibrate to what you want rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest. That kind of care shows up everywhere in the experience. Food comes out hot, timed well, and exactly as ordered. Basic things, but plenty of places fail at them. The Bottom Line Tikka n' Talk is the rare restaurant that's excellent on every axis at once -- the cooking is skilled, the room is inviting, and the people running it obviously care. It's become a regular for us, and I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who asks where to eat. If you haven't been, go. Order more than you think you need. Stay a while -- the name is an instruction, and it's good advice. Highest possible recommendation.
