The name and awning has changed for this place. They are under new management. Greeted by friendly staff. This place has a great buffet food spread. Lots of dishes to choose from. We came for some breakfast. My girlfriend had an egg bacon and cheese and I indulged in an egg bacon lettuce and tomatoe and mayo on a roll. DELICIOUS. Everything tasted so fresh right off of a clean grill. Loved this place and its people. Great vibes. I am definitely coming back. Want to try the food from the buffet.

" Typical Dominican Breakfast.." is what I asked for

Having just read my 1 star thrashing of Ole Gus, I'm put off a bit by my 2020 words. Nothing in life is ever that bad as we might feel it to be in the heat of the moment - especially having the good fortune to eat breakfast out when so many are going with so little. I'll edit the name to Beun Sabor Coffee Shop, the current establishment name after being sold and rebranded to a Dominican coffee shop. I sit here, phone in hand with the utmost of belly satisfaction, while reflecting on the good fortune we here have to be able to walk a few blocks to a traditional coffee shop. Booths and counter, trays behind windows, tall silver coffee makers, metal upon metal sounds from the double doored kitchen that swing too and fro with hot plates. It's a New York institution - like a scaled down diner and we all know about the sad passing and extinction of those days and places. My buddy Spanish Dracula and I are early risers, so we took a long walk at 5am and noticed the glare of their neon sign upon the pavement, are they already open? It wasn't even 7am - and si, they were open with a few customers already sitting and eating talking merrily. I'm at the point of life where I see the beauty in everything -- no matter it's size nor scale, I just know how to look now - the lenses I choose to put on before I venture out.. This is my new decree.

Food here is great. My favorite Saturday diner spot, just making a post since they changed their number. Gyro omelette is really good

My friend and I were looking for a coffee shop and stumbled upon this place. First thing is that the name on the restaurant is Buen Sabor, a Dominican restaurant. My expectation was a traditional coffee shop but it was a pleasant surprise that it was a restaurant that serves delicious Dominican food. The food was delicious and I was able to switch the salami for turkey bacon. The coffee was strong and delicious. The service was okay. Reason being is that my friend and I tried to split the bill however the waitress made a mistake and charged me twice. Oh well the great food made up for that mistake!

It is now called Buen Sabor. Our go-to here is the Tres colpes dominican breakfast. I also liked their mondongo (tripe soup), generous with the tripe. They have lunch specials, varies by day. On our first visit, staff were getting confused with our order, so we got charged different from menu price for some items but we gave the place a try again and was much better. Staff is nice.

They no longer display the "Forest Hills Coffee Shop" signage, and put up their own small signage at the window

A hidden gem in Forest Hills, forauthentic Dominican food. Got takeout a few times during the pandemic when I was around. The portions are huge and their pernil's always good. Their oxtail were not so good the couple times I got them, but their prices are really low. They removed the "Forest Hills Coffee Shop" signage, and put up a smaller signage "Buen Sabor Restaurant", which is kind of confusing. Their leaflet says they deliver with Doordash, Ubereats etc. but they don't! They have their own delivery people, so call and place your order.

Was in the neighborhood. Said Dominican food . My husband whom is Dominican got excited. Small little hole in the wall. We ordered the traditional 3 golpes. Traditional Dominican breakfast. Smashed plantain with red Ionian, fried cheese, salami and eggs however you like them. We get them over easy. Plates were big and they we're differently Hispanics, but not sure about Dominican. Anyways the food was good. My 6 year old loves grill cheese we got one she liked it. Ordered water for my daughter most places just bring a plastic cup with water and straw he brought an actual bottle of water. Not a big deal. My husband got a lemonade assuming it was homemade lol it was okay. After our food was served nobody came back to see if we were okay and we waited a long time just to get our check. That personally annoys me. And my husband went to the register to pay the lady says oh your server will come . Excuse me mam we've been waiting. It also has a different name on the awning bueno something.

Searching for the best Dominican breakfast in queens and came across this little gem. I got the "Tres Golpes" which consists of eggs, fried cheese, salami, and mangú. It was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the cheese coulda been a little more fried but overall delish. Hubby got the pancakes with bacon, and the bacon wasn't as crispy as desired and looked like precooked bacon. The staff was great and friendly and the place was reminiscent of a Miami cafeteria which I loved. They were playing the fire jams too!

Great cheap food. They are quick and very friendly. I will definitely come back again another day.

First thing to note it's called "Buen Sabor". I almost didn't find the place so they should really consider doing something about this 2 names things. Other than that though, the food was great, authentic Dominican breakfast. I had the tres golpes and it was such a good variety of flavors. Loved the pickled onions on the plantains. The coffee was strong and the service was great.

Pernil is on the top and beef stew on the bottom

Have they permanently closed? My husband and I keep trying to go but the gate has been down.

December 2019: the restaurant is open under new management.

Really cutely-decorated place with good food! I came for lunch on a weekday and got oxtail with…read moredirty rice (rice and beans) which was a filling portion with delicious broth. However, I have to give Morena's a less-than-great rating due to difficulties with the service and payment. When the server came to take my order, I asked about the lunch special specified on the menu, where it's stated that all main courses are available as a lunch special at a reduced price; I had seen that online and it was a big reason I decided to stop by for lunch. The server directed us to the counter with a hot bar of selected dishes (but not all of the main courses as the menu said) and told us that ordering from there consisted of the lunch special. Fortunately, the oxtail I wanted was there anyway. When it came time to pay, I expected the check to be brought to the table but I had to get up to go to the counter. The server gave me a charge that was higher than the lunch special prices on the menu, more in line with the regular non-special price. I asked to confirm if it was the lunch price (apparently yes) and if I could see an itemized receipt before paying (apparently not). I ended up just paying because I didn't want to make a fuss, but something seems to have gone wrong. Was the menu inaccurate or outdated? Was the server not fluent in English and didn't catch what I asked? Is this something they pull on people who they assume to be from outside the area? I'm not quite sure and I don't want to assume bad intentions, but I unfortunately can't recommend this restaurant based on that spotty experience.

I will start by saying how cute this place is! Randomly walked in after a NYCFC game and was sat…read moreright away. Their decorations are set up so you feel like you're in DR. And I loveeeeeee that! The bathroom was so cute too! The mirror border was literally a bunch of old phones lol The servers also give you a homey vibe too! It was so cute! The kitchen was "open concept" so you can see the cooks. They were two older women and it was the cutest thing. Gave Tia vibes! As for the food. My plate was okay! It was good but didn't wow me. The flavor was good and all but something was missing. I had the pescado a la parrilla and my friend had the rabo. The rabo was 10/10!!! But the pescado was ehh. The rice and beans though BOMB. The margaritas were great too! Maybe it was just the way they seasoned the fish. But I still recommend this place and say give it a shot!
