Went to Rincon with my cousin, he wanted to try it for a long time, since they moved from Jackson Hts. Right by their apartment. Walked in and you are greeted with music playing in the background. Service was prompt and friendly. We started with Fritura de Bacalao, Tostones Rellenos both were delicious. Ordered the Camarones Al Ajillo with Red Beans and Rice. it was delicious but the shrimp were small. Also had Rabo Encendido, should have been cooked more, the meat should have fallen off the bone, but was tasty. Finished with Cafe con Leche hot and delicious. CIAO FOR NOW

Different place yet same memories! So happy this restaurant opened here on Long Island. This place brings back so many memories from their original location in queens. Food and service still 10 out of 10! Walking in feels like a cozy home with beautiful pictures of Cuba. My family and I came here for brunch and we all ordered our forever favorite steak sandwich- pan con bistec. Highly recommend. Of course their cafe con leche is one of the best coffees so definitely try it out. We will definitely come back to try their dinner menu!

    Welcome to Rincon

Another amazing restaurant experience. My friends have been telling me about this shop for a while now and I finally had an opportunity to go with my friends who are "very regulars" here. Just about a 12 minute ride from my house and quickly parked and went inside. Note: They have a small parking lot, which can fit about 9 cars, plus one handicap spot and there is plenty of street parking available. We had much conversation with the owner Rudy and he told me all that they went through to open. Bust..after this delay, they finally opened the doors to the public. You feel very comfortable as so as you walk in. Great venue-ambiance and... an extremely friendly team here. The feeling I got was that I was walking into their home. Within a minute, the server came over, introduced himself and brougt a basket of Toasted Cuban bread with garlic butter. Just delicious, really really delicious. We went through their extensive menu and ordered dinner. My friends, knowing the amount of food you get, recommended that we pass on the appetizer. Glad we did. Dinner: Rabo Encendido - Oxtail with red wine tomato sauce. Five pieces of oxtail which was so tender that the meat just fell off the bones. Really delicious dish. Ropa Vieja - Fabulous tasty shredded Flank Steak simmered in tomato sauce with onions and peppers. A clear winner!!! Maduros - Four large pieces of caramelized sweet plantains.... Just delicious. Pork Filet - Grilled and topped with cooked onions. This is one huge thin piece of tasty pork that was easily sharable. Filet of Fish Rincon Criollo - Filet of flounder broiled in white wine, butter and garlic sauce. Really well prepared, fish with a bit of crust from the oven and lots and lots of taste. It was our first time here and we all shared our dishes. There was plenty to go around! Side dishes included, (which came with our Entrees): Frijoles Negron (black beans): these are the most flavorful beans, and one of my faves from Rincon Criollo. It goes so well with their white rice. After dinner A Shot of Kahlúa (coffee liqueur) and condensed milk; topping with a maraschino cherry. This went perfectly with the coffee and Buñuelos Rincon Criollo (Fried dough made with yuca and sweet potato topped with homemade honey sauce) and Flan. This was really authentic, delicious Cuban Cuisine and I know that my wife and I will wind up as regulars too. You can see that many people here are already regulars and just know everyone. A table was also celebrating a birthay. The team puts o quite the show. Another fun experience here. So happy to have Rudy and Esther Acota as prt of our neighborhood. KUDOS to the team at Rincon Criollo.

Huge shoutout to Luigi for providing the best service ever!! Good service is one of the top reasons we will be back. I had gone to their Corona location before they closed and loved it. Since we were in the area, I suggested to my husband we should grab Cuban and boy was it a great idea. We started off with the Cuban sandwich followed by Bistec Empanizado y filete de pescado de rincón criollo. First bite into the Cuban sandwich... we were in love! The cheese pulled like the commercials you see and there just something about the bread that makes you crave more with each bite. 10/10! Bistec Empanizado.. crispy, oh so crispy yet not oily at all!! We loved how tender the meat is. Filete de Peacado.. cod drenched in butter. How could we not love this one?? Meat was so fresh and tender that you really do crave more each time. All the food were 10/10 and service another 11/10! I highly recommend this place.. it's so family friendly and if it's your bday, you can let them know and they'll sing for you! Great for family gatherings and amazing Cuban food!!

A local owned location, supporting small businesses. I was in town and decided to try out some new eats. I wanted and Spanish and if lucky Cuban. I got lucky and tried this location that reminded me of the Caribbean flavor I miss from home. I had a cuban sandwich and a great beer. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean.

I ordered take out. Food was made quickly and was ready on time. Service was kind when I walked in. Food was delicious! The restaurant itself seems spacious I would have to come back to dine in.

Honestly I don't know where to start! This restaurant is absolutely AMAZING!! I've been eyeing this restaurant past two months, every time I'm on jericho turnpike in new Hyde park. We stopped over on an extremely cold Wednesday night and were seated right away next to a fireplace. For a Wednesday, it was poppin', a lot of people, tables full on a random Wednesday. Our waiter was polite, patient, helpful and all around just made the experience great. We had the pleasure speaking with Rudy, who escorted us to our seats and explained that they have been open 4 months and on the weekends this place is packed. I believe it!! Food was amazing, very flavorful, made to perfection!! Definitely recommend the Roast pork and Ropa Vieja was DELICIOUS!! There was a Complimentary soup given to us which yum on a cold day! Everyday you get a different soup complimentary. They have locations, one in New Hyde Park and Huntington. If you're in the neighborhood this is a Must visit!! Your Welcome.

This place quickly became a family favorite. Delicious Cuban food, served family style, surrounded by memorabilia from old Cuba. They have the usual favorites, plus dishes you would be hard pressed to find at other Cuban restaurants. My one gripe: their yuca con mojo. Tried it twice and both times it was lacking in flavor. But otherwise the food is on point. The service is always friendly and prompt. If you have a birthday there, be prepared for a lively little celebration!!!

Rincon Criollo is back, albeit 13 miles east of where the original location was. The space is much larger than the Corona location and spanking new; it looks lovely. There is a small lot with a limited number of parking spots, but street parking is also available. Arriving on a Saturday night just before 6, it was packed and people were already waiting. Our party of 2 only waited about 15 minutes and scored a high top table in the bar area. People were coming in non-stop and by the time we left the bar area was standing room only. After seated a few minutes our waiter came by and took our order. Drinks came immediately. The downside of this whole experience is we waited 40 minutes for our entrees to come (we did not order an appetizer). Sangria is served in a pint glass and for $10 its a great deal. While we were served some sliced garlic bread once we were seated I was starving by the time the food came, so excuse the half eaten food photos. The menu seems to be the same as what it was and entrees are still served with 2 sides. Both the Picadillo and Roast Pork were very good, as were the Mauro Rice & Beans, Fried Yucca and Sweet Plantains. Don't skip the Cafe con Leche, it's excellent and they also have a wonderful flan. For those familiar with the original, they still play the loud music and have colored lights when there is a birthday. So happy they are back, hopefully next time I can eat quicker.

I absolutely love this Cuban restaurant! The food is incredibly flavorful, fresh, and always cooked perfectly. Every dish tastes like it was made with love. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is always friendly. One of my favorite places to eat highly recommend!

Tried this place near work at the recommendation of a friend who orders from here fairly often. It was...fine. I was super pumped because driving home with the food was difficult as it smelled incredible (looking back it was probably just the garlic/butter of the fish but still). We went with the flounder in garlic sauce and the breaded steak (the latter a recommendation from said friend). The former was just okay, I found the portion to be really quite lacking the flavor beyond butter to be a bit meh. The breaded steak was a larger portion and pretty good but I feel like it would be hard to make anything breaded taste bad. I appreciated being able to pick a variety of side dishes but none of them were really very exciting. The vegetables were butter-heavy, the rice/beans with bacon fine, the tostones I actually found a bit difficult to eat secondary to how dry they were. Overall a bit disappointed. Their menu has some interesting options I would consider getting in the future but some of the more commonly featured things at least in reviews were pretty expensive, so not sure I would come back for them. What we got I felt like was very fairly priced (except maybe the portion of fish...).

Always a great experience! I've been supporting this family-owned gem since their very first location in Corona, Queens (now closed), then followed them to Huntington Station, and now to this third spot. Siblings Rudy and Esther are owners and they treat you family. The food always tastes like there's a Cuban grandmother in the kitchen working her magic--flavorful, comforting, and made with love. The service is attentive, drinks are solid and the rustic Cuban decor adds to the charm (bonus: chairs are actually comfy!) So glad to see them thriving and growing! Ps. Fried yucca with avocado dipping sauce is a new menu item and a must try!

Rincon Criollo is coming to New Hyde Park in Oct 2023!

After waiting a longggg 10 months for Rincon Criollo to open, they're finally open! Soft opening this weekend; Official Opening on Monday 9/30/24! After 47 years in Corona, Queens, sadly, Rincon Criollo closed in Sept 2023. They were slated to open their New Hyde Park location in Nov 2023. After much delay, they have finally opened! Get ready for authentic, delicious Cuban Cuisine! Welcome to the neighborhood, Esther & Rudy Acosta! This new location did not disappoint! It's such a cute restaurant, and has a very homey feel to it. This homey feel fits perfectly with their home cooking! Customer service was fantastic; warm, welcoming and friendly. Note that their entire Corona staff is now at their new location! Parking: they even have a small parking lot, which can fit about 9 cars, plus one handicap spot. There is also plenty of street parking available. Pricing: As expected, prices are much higher than their Corona restaurant; same prices as their Huntington location. Food: Cuban Cuisine at it's Best! The food is just as good as I remember it from their Corona location! You can tell that alot of care and time went into preparing the food. On this first visit, there were two of us, sharing two dishes: - Complimentary Cuban Bread: we got a basket of Cuban bread which was toasted with garlic butter. Just delicious! - Rabo Encendido ($29.95-comes with 2 side dishes of your choice): Oxtail with red wine tomato sauce. The 5 pieces of oxtail was so tender that the meat just fell off the bones. Really delicious dish! Recommended! - Maduros ($6.50): 4 large pieces of caramelized sweet plantains. The sweetness of the plantains is a nice contrast to all the other savory flavors. - Lechon Asada ($19.95-comes with 2 side dishes of your choice): Roast Pork marinated in lime juice, oregano and garlic. This dish was a little disappointing, as it wasn't as flavorful as it could have been. The flavors were very mild; maybe too mild; bordering in slightly bland. We ate very little of this dish, and packed it to take home. We asked for garlic sauce to be added to our leftovers. Our side dishes of choice, (which came with our Entrees): - Arroz Blanco (white rice): a must if you're planning on having their black beans. - Frijoles Negron (black beans): these are the most flavorful beans, and one of my faves from Rincon Criollo. It goes so well with their white rice. - Yuca con Mojo (boiled Yuca with onions and garlic oil): the garlicy sauce with Yuca is absolutely delicious. I prefer this Yuca over the fried Yuca. Great texture; bursting with flavor - Moros y Chirstianos (rice and beans cooked together with bacon): I prefer the white rice and black beans over this dish but still very good. - Complimentary after dinner treat: A Shot of Kahlúa (coffee liqueur) and condensed milk; topping with a maraschino cherry. We were too full to order their dessert and coffee, so this was a great way to end a meal. Thank you! I'm so looking forward to many return visits to try other menu items. Can't wait to have an authentic Cuban Sandwich; one of my fave dishes at Rincon Criollo! I'm so glad Long Island is getting more authentic ethnic cuisines! When I first moved here, it was all just Italian, Italian, Italian. I'm thrilled that Long Island is getting more diverse cuisine options! Again, welcome to the neighborhood, Rincon Criollo!

I have been living around this neighborhood for a while and I have not even tried stepping into this place-MY LOSS. Parking is not a problem as the joint has a parking lot beside it. My first impression after getting into their door: relaxed, friendly, and chill local bar, with a lively vibe and a decent size bar area. Casual, informal atmosphere, American pub fare with a dynamic, cozy ambiance. Bar offers a good selection of beers and cocktails and seems to be a popular local spot for watching sports or enjoying a casual night out with friends.  Unfortunately I was unable to try their food as me and my friends were already full prior to coming to this joint, but according to my friend who has been here before, he praised their food for being good which includes burgers, fries, onion rings, and wings.  The vibe is cheerful and energetic, they have a live singer, people watching sports on multiple screens, costumers chatting which tend to get louder as the night gets deeper. They have a wide selection of craft beer and signature cocktails. Staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We have enjoyed their different craft beers, costumer and staff friendliness, and the cozy ambiance. Brew house seems to be a solid choice for a laid-back and fun local bar experience in New Hyde Park, especially if you're looking for pub food, cold beer, and a lively atmosphere with events.  Definitely coming back to try their pub food as recommended by my friend.

This place is beautiful and perfect for pretty much any occasion. The first time I brought my sister here for her bday dinner and every dish was absolutely outstanding. The service although it was busy Friday night was also excellent. Our drinks? The smokin gun and spicy margarita were perhaps some of the best drinks we've had in a long time. The minute we left we decided we had to come back again for some drinks and apps. Fast forward to a Thursday night we saw they had a late night happy hour so we decided to give it a try! This is where it all went downhill and I debated on writing this review because I honesty believe in giving businesses sort of a pass for a rough day or just because and you never know know what someone is going through but I was clearly so bothered that I am still thinking about it and I feel like it's only right that the owner should know. We arrived for the late night happy hour and 4 seats happen to be available at the end of the bar. The female bartender proceeded to place menus right in front of us without saying a word. I smiled, kinda hinting hello and when I tell you I just got a blank stare, at first I was confused but again (it's late, it's thursday, people have struggles, be compassionate and move on) Fast forward we order some food, she places mats and utensil in front of us and again nothing, not a word. It was also as if she was annoyed at us for being there. At one point I was speaking Spanish with one of my girlfriends and I noticed she finally looked at us and smiled. I'm unsure what that was about but I was happy to see her smile for once. Finally I noticed a couple came in and went straight to the bartender and right away I noticed her tone and demeanor changed, she was much happier to see them. So I guess she had a decent day after all. The couple and the bartender kinda pointed towards us as if we had taken their seats. This is all happening right in front of my eyes. Now listen, I'm an expert on picking up cues and noticing things around me. It's pretty much what I do for a living. The couple then sat against the wall behind and we could just feel that we just weren't wanted there that night. The vibe and energy felt really off and when I tell you this was perhaps one of the worse customer services experiences I've ever had in this type of establishment, I am not lying. It felt very dismissive and unwelcoming without even saying anything. I'm really disappointed because Ive been bragging to all my friends about this place and really looked forward to the same experience I had previously but this wasn't the case. I'm not sure of if I will be back, but I do hope the managers and owners here give their staff better training on how to treat customers. A simple hello, a smile, and being kind goes a long way not only in the business word but in life.
