Cannot recommend enough!! Love this spot for taco Tuesday and their brunch specials- everything I've had has been absolutely delicious! They have specials everyday- and the staff here is always so attentive. Guillermo makes some refreshing margaritas!

Walked in here at 5 pm on a Thursday. First one there. Greeted by an amazing bartender Abagail. Very welcoming and sweet. I asked her for a weird drink I had in Chicago and Mexico once. Instead of saying no, she and I looked it up. It was great. The food was amazing. Pollos Rellanos. Service 10/10, drinks 10/10ans food 10/10. Go here.

I found this place on (9.9.25) without even trying to look for it. I was by the bus terminal which wasn't far and was curious to see what this restaurant was all about. I had a few minutes before my next bus so I walked over and it was the best decision ever. As I walked inside there were a few customers sitting at the bar area and I also took a seat. The server gave me a menu and proceeded to bring some chips and salsa. Yum yum yum! Then, the bartender took my order for both food (tacos de birria, tacos de sol and tacos de camarón) and a drink (passion fruit margarita). TACO TUESDAYS IS $3, great deal and its delicious!!! My food order was approaching (yes of course had to take my pictures) I got very excited to try each one. When I tell you that each taco bite was out of this world, just wow!!!!!! It was hot, fresh and very tasteful. Each taco was just right! I love a taco that is full to the top and even if it gets messy!!! Oh my birria taco came with a small consume on the side which was delicious but a little too salty for me. By the way, my passion fruit margarita was so good too! As I was still eating, I had asked the bartender how long have they been opened he had responded only three months. Wow, that's amazing and they are in a great location too! So for anyone reading this come to El Sol GL, you will enjoy! I will see you guys soon!

I had the pleasure of having brunch at El Sol GL on Sunday 7/20/25 and wow this place is truly a hidden gem. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by friendly waiter who sat us down. We were invited to this special brunch by a friend of the owner who wanted us to give our honest feedback. He also greeted us and was super friendly. The food: I ordered the breakfast bowl because it had a little bit of everything I was craving. It was true mix of breakfast and brunch but latin style. This dish had Moro, which is essentially rice and beans cooked together with special seasonings that make the rice dark. Let me tell you, as someone who makes Moro at home, I was very impressed. The flavors were there and the rice was cooked to my liking. The Moro included a fun twist, it had pieces of tater tots which gave it a little crunch. The dish also came with skirt steak which was flavorful and cooked to perfection and finally it also had two friend eggs on top. I give this dish a 10/10. For the drinks, they have a variety of flavored mimosas. I ordered the Hawaiian mimosa. The flavor was good but it's def on the sweeter side. This is something that I'm sure can be adjusted. The vibe and music: the music was good! Honestly made us wish we could dance. My sister who is huge on music and dancing was very impressed at the selection. It was trending Latin music with the perfect variation in genres. If you're in the area or just simply want to have some flavorful Latin food with a twist. I highly suggest you give EL SOL a try. There is plenty of parking in the meters in the block behind. Go check them out and let me know what you think!

Best mistake I've ever made!! Ordered pickup from here on a total accident thinking it was another place, and thought I guess this is a sign to try something new! Guillermo took my order of the phone and helped me when I arrived and he was not only so incredibly friendly but when I told him what happened he threw in fresh chips and salsa (which were fantastic)! He let me know I was about to find my new favorite burrito and he was completely right just WOW!! the carnitas is INCREDIBLE there is so much fresh cilantro in the insanely flavorful sauce I was instantly in love! the ambiance is also so so nice I cannot wait for date night because my husband and I will 100% be back! Thank you Guillermo !!

The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Overall, we found many of the dishes to be overly salty and oily. I ordered the rib sandwich and was disappointed because it wasn't what I expected. I anticipated an actual rib sandwich, but it appeared to be more like shredded beef and didn't have the flavor or texture of ribs. My son ordered the stuff Nutella French Toast and ended up sending them back. The eggs he was served were also quite salty. My daughter did not enjoy her burger, which was unusually thick and difficult to eat as prepared. My wife finished her meal, but she did not find it particularly enjoyable and felt the portion size was too small for the price. I think part of the issue may have been the limited Father's Day brunch menu. Had there been more options available, we might have found dishes that better suited our tastes. Additionally, dessert was not included in the package, which was somewhat disappointing. While the atmosphere and service were definite positives, the food did not meet our expectations. Based on this experience, I'm not sure if I would return.

I've been here several times now, and I've genuinely enjoyed the dishes. That said, even though everything is still very good, some of the menu items have changed. I just wish that when we told our waitress we'd been there before, she would've mentioned that some menu items were updated. We ended up ordering our favorite items because the names were the same on the menu, but the descriptions (how it was prepared) were different--so we didn't think to look closely at the descriptions. For example, the crudo is now a salmon crudo with capers. Before, it was tuna with cucumbers, which I honestly love and prefer over the salmon. The chicken dish was also switched up. When I told friends who haven't gone yet, they were disappointed as well. The chicken dish is now a mushroom sauce version, and we definitely tasted it, but we weren't expecting it to be different when we ordered. Since there are a lot of regular customers, I think it would be helpful to mention when some items have changed, especially when the names stay the same. My dish was the ravioli and it was good not great. It was also lukewarm once it was finally delivered and I did not want to send it back again and wait even longer to eat. My friends ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, Pasta Primavera and the Cacio e Pepe. They enjoyed the Primavera and the Bolognese however they said the Cacio Pepe lacked flavor. Before going into this restaurant, I read the reviews and was skeptical, but wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I understand they are working on improving things, however for me personally, I will not be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family. I may try the Huntington location as that has a better reputation.
