Grilled Chicken Quesadilla

Came in for lunch. It's quiet and fairly empty on a weekday afternoon we were the only ppl there. We were served chips and salsa which was delicious. Could tell it was freshly fried chips. Service was attentive. Food came out hot and all tasted fresh.

Cannot recommend enough!! Love this spot for taco Tuesday and their brunch specials- everything I've had has been absolutely delicious! They have specials everyday- and the staff here is always so attentive. Guillermo makes some refreshing margaritas!

I found this place on (9.9.25) without even trying to look for it. I was by the bus terminal which wasn't far and was curious to see what this restaurant was all about. I had a few minutes before my next bus so I walked over and it was the best decision ever. As I walked inside there were a few customers sitting at the bar area and I also took a seat. The server gave me a menu and proceeded to bring some chips and salsa. Yum yum yum! Then, the bartender took my order for both food (tacos de birria, tacos de sol and tacos de camarón) and a drink (passion fruit margarita). TACO TUESDAYS IS $3, great deal and its delicious!!! My food order was approaching (yes of course had to take my pictures) I got very excited to try each one. When I tell you that each taco bite was out of this world, just wow!!!!!! It was hot, fresh and very tasteful. Each taco was just right! I love a taco that is full to the top and even if it gets messy!!! Oh my birria taco came with a small consume on the side which was delicious but a little too salty for me. By the way, my passion fruit margarita was so good too! As I was still eating, I had asked the bartender how long have they been opened he had responded only three months. Wow, that's amazing and they are in a great location too! So for anyone reading this come to El Sol GL, you will enjoy! I will see you guys soon!

I had the pleasure of having brunch at El Sol GL on Sunday 7/20/25 and wow this place is truly a hidden gem. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by friendly waiter who sat us down. We were invited to this special brunch by a friend of the owner who wanted us to give our honest feedback. He also greeted us and was super friendly. The food: I ordered the breakfast bowl because it had a little bit of everything I was craving. It was true mix of breakfast and brunch but latin style. This dish had Moro, which is essentially rice and beans cooked together with special seasonings that make the rice dark. Let me tell you, as someone who makes Moro at home, I was very impressed. The flavors were there and the rice was cooked to my liking. The Moro included a fun twist, it had pieces of tater tots which gave it a little crunch. The dish also came with skirt steak which was flavorful and cooked to perfection and finally it also had two friend eggs on top. I give this dish a 10/10. For the drinks, they have a variety of flavored mimosas. I ordered the Hawaiian mimosa. The flavor was good but it's def on the sweeter side. This is something that I'm sure can be adjusted. The vibe and music: the music was good! Honestly made us wish we could dance. My sister who is huge on music and dancing was very impressed at the selection. It was trending Latin music with the perfect variation in genres. If you're in the area or just simply want to have some flavorful Latin food with a twist. I highly suggest you give EL SOL a try. There is plenty of parking in the meters in the block behind. Go check them out and let me know what you think!

Best mistake I've ever made!! Ordered pickup from here on a total accident thinking it was another place, and thought I guess this is a sign to try something new! Guillermo took my order of the phone and helped me when I arrived and he was not only so incredibly friendly but when I told him what happened he threw in fresh chips and salsa (which were fantastic)! He let me know I was about to find my new favorite burrito and he was completely right just WOW!! the carnitas is INCREDIBLE there is so much fresh cilantro in the insanely flavorful sauce I was instantly in love! the ambiance is also so so nice I cannot wait for date night because my husband and I will 100% be back! Thank you Guillermo !!

The kids' menu is great, which is always a big plus for families. The arugula salad is also delicious, and if you get the chance to try the butternut squash ravioli when they have it, definitely do, it's one of my favorites. The restaurant has a beautiful, bright, modern atmosphere that feels much more upscale than its surroundings. Based on other reviews, the standout dishes seemed to be the grilled Spanish octopus and the SB Smash Burger, so I ordered both. Unfortunately, the execution fell short in several areas. The East Coast oysters arrived with mignonette but without horseradish or oyster forks--small details, but noticeable oversights. The oysters, octopus, and burger were all tasty, but the presentation of octopus and burger was surprisingly sloppy, as though little attention had been paid when the dishes left the kitchen. The bar also was understaffed. A single bartender was serving both the bar and the entire dining room, which led to waits for drinks. My bartender was friendly, attentive, and worked hard, but one person simply wasn't enough. I finished with the Key Lime Custard, which had what appeared to be a layer of shredded cereal on the bottom. I wasn't sure what it was. The dessert itself was enjoyable, though I think a base of toasted sliced almonds with a few fried blueberries on top of it would have added better texture and complemented the flavors more effectively. One nice perk is the validated valet parking, for a reduced fee, which makes arriving and leaving especially convenient given the mall location. The whiskey selection could also be improved by adding a few more interesting, off-the-beaten-path single malts or blends. Overall, the kitchen shows promise! And perhaps I came on an off night. With better attention to presentation, appropriate bar staffing, and a more adventurous choice of spirits, Small Batch could deliver an experience that better matches its reputation.

Normally, I don't start a review on a negative but after we left and counting up all the missteps, I felt off. My wife is more forgiving, she liked the Frito Misto and Bolognese. It's hard to believe this was a BBQ spot a few years ago. The glass garage door is still in place, back in the day it was enjoyable during the spring. There's a reason why it's called Sparrow Cocktails. I ordered the Smoked Old Fashioned. Made with Angel's Envy Bourbon and wood smoked chips, this was a great cocktail before dinner. The Frito Misto had a delicate coating, it wasn't overly battered. The green dipping sauce served on the side was bland. It didn't add to the dish and was thin. The Malfalde Bolognese was a hearty portion, we were able to share this large dish between the two of us. Made with beef, veal and pork and simmered in San Marzono tomatoes, this entree satisfies all my pasta cravings. I was looking for some grated cheese, none was offered.. The Back Sea Bass special, IMHO we should have passed. My wife asked about bones and was told they de-bone the fish table side. What was served to us was a fish that was cooked well but was full of small pin bones. We passed on dessert, it was time to go. an expensive meal that doesn't warrant a return visit.

Having made a reservation, we were promptly seated by the hostess, who greeted us warmly at the entrance. We were immediately struck by the beauty and elegance of the bar. The entire restaurant is classy, elegant, and beautifully decorated. For appetizers, we ordered the bread and baked clams, which were delicious. Next, we shared a pasta dish, Cacio e Pepe, which we both thought was bland. Our entrées consisted of eggplant Parmesan and chicken Parmesan, accompanied by a side of broccoli. Everything was perfectly prepared and flavorful, but the tomato sauce was especially delicious. For dessert, we ordered chocolate gelato and espresso, which made for a thoroughly satisfying finish to our meal. The service was excellent, attentive, and responsive to our needs. Most notably, our water glasses were continually refilled without our having to ask. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning to try some of the other entrées, which all looked excellent. Yelp gives the restaurant four stars, and I agree. However, I would rate it four dollar signs ($$$$) rather than three ($$$), as the meal was quite expensive--even with the gift certificate helping to offset the cost. All in all, it was an excellent dining experience, and we look forward to going back again for a special occasion!

And honestly, the food is just not good. Nothing stood out, nothing worth waiting an hour for, and definitely not worth the price. And the thing is... if they were busy, I'd honestly be like "okay, fine, it happens." But I was literally 1/3 tables in the whole place. Hard to give any grace when it's that empty and still this bad!!! When it's finally Friday and you're excited for dinner out... this ain't it!!! No wonder OpenTable offered me 1000 points to come here lol. Update: We were so over it that we asked for the dessert (included with the prix fixe) to go. Ended up eating it at home in sweats and that was actually the best part of the whole night. The s'mores cookie skillet wasn't bad. So yeah... 2 stars instead of 1 and both of those stars belong to the cookie!!!
