If you are a person of a certain age and NOt with the sh:ts, don't go here on a Friday or Saturday night after 8:30. It may have been bc of FIFA but we went for dinner (it was my second time there) and the security pat down at the door didn't sit well with me. Once inside the dining room, the decor is moody, vibrant and inviting. Made me smile instantly. One thing I will say... I went after work and I have now been on a late weekend night- the food and cocktails were consistently good! Food was fresh and tasty and the cocktails were imaginative. On to the service. As soon as hubby and I entered Ensenada Bay, we were greeted by our hostess and were immediately taken to our seats since we had reservations. The Restaurant was so pretty with its adorned flowers, giving it a romantic feel. We were given a basket of tortilla chips with some salsa. For starters, we ordered the guacamole and the Chicharron de Pulpo (octopus). I was disappointed in the amount of guacamole that was served. A bed of tortillas in the molcajete masked the amount of actual dollop of guac given. It was definitely not worth $15!The chicharron de Pulpo a very unique dish that was tangy and quite flavorful. The octopus was chopped in little bites, lightly breaded but was like a ceviche....so delicious! My entree was the shrimp tacos in a corn tortilla which melted in my mouth. Hubby had the rib eye which he enjoyed along with the shoe string fries which were cooked to perfection. The only down side was that we were unable to order any cocktails as the restaurant is working on obtaining their liquor license. They did have a mocktail menu which we did not try. Really great location, beautiful views and such amazing murals and decor.. the outdoor area is very spacious, there's valet and super friendly staff. My job had an event there last night, awesome margaritas and really yummy fried shrimp and pigs in a blanket as appetizers. They're a new place and I think this may have been one of their first events with this big of a crowd. The dinner took a while before it was served and it wasn't good or bad just meh. So there's some room for improvement but I would not mind going back for brunch or something. They also had the FIFA matches playing on the tvs inside which was great. read more

New owners since Nov'25. Beautiful inside. Very comfortable chairs with cushioned armrests. Welcoming staff. High quality appetizers, mains and desserts. Tacos were excellent. Only had to remind the waitress that cappuccino should be hot, not lukewarm. read more

When does Happy Hour turn into almost five hours? When you're at Ensenada Bay, that's when!! A co worker mentioned this new establishment where the old Tony Cuban, then Seafood Grill On The Bay used to be. It is now a lovely, vibrant eatery only open two months, where the drinks are strong, the music is lively and the Mexican eats are delicious! We arrived for their 4p-7p happy hour around 5:15p. At first we were the only ones seated at the bar. The friendly bartender Jorge, took our drink orders and we ordered food from the HH menu. The Bar Sampler consisted of 2 empanadas, calamari and chicken wings. The wings had some kick to the them and the empanadas were tasty. The calamari was a bit too chewy for my taste but, was seasoned well. By the time Ericka our second bartender started and introduced herself, the bar was buzzing with lots of happy folks! Ericka took our two tacos and shrimp ceviche order, those dishes were both packed with savory goodness! I am looking forward to coming back here for dinner in the gorgeous dining room. The outside patio overlooking the water is closed now but, I can't wait to return when it opens in spring/summer!! Would highly recommend coming to try the Happy Hour menu and Taco Tuesday tacos/margaritas and sit outside to enjoy the beautiful view of the water. There was a bit of miscommunication about the Happy Hour specials on Fridays (no longer available on Fridays but are on other weekdays), as others have mentioned, but Wilmer was responsive over email and generously resolved the issue, which we appreciated. The outdoor bartender Matt, was friendly, kind, and super helpful - he made the visit 5 stars for us. Raw Oysters and the shrimp taco were both good. The birria taco (sauce quite spicy), ribeye taco, and corn ribs were excellent. Chips and salsa were great too. Food was great, service was spectacular, this place is new and honestly I loved the decor! Beautiful and refreshing to the neighborhood. We had the prefix menu and it was great food for the price. The only downfall is the churro dessert accidentally had a kitchen mistake of adding garlic mix as a topping on the ice cream instead of a nut mix. Beautiful aesthetics! As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a nice hostess who seated us promptly. Although we sat inside, they have a nice outdoor patio with an outdoor bar, overlooking the water. We had complimentary chips with 4 different dips. I had the chicken tacos and I tried the steak fries. Everything was tasty and a good portion. I plan on returning to try their bottomless brunch which is offered on the weekends. Fantastic experience at Ensenada Bay. Our server, Eduardo, was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect. While a lot of places tend to make their drinks too sweet, this restaurant has nailed a delicious cocktail. I had the Mango Vodka Soda and honestly, never had anything like it before. My husband enjoyed his Mexican Old Fashioned, with the tasty addition of chocolate/mole bitters. The shrimp ceviche was delicious, as were our entrees, the chicharron tacos and the skirt steak. The interior is gorgeous with its murals. It's also on the water and they have an outdoor bar area. OH. Almost forgot the salsa they give you when you first sit down. It's addictive. Great new place in Freeport, looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. read more

Food and service was amazing. My steak was juicy and flavorful the sides were tasty too. I enjoyed the rice and beans and I am a huge fan of avocado on the side of anything so this dish was amazing my friend got the shrimp dish and she enjoyed it as well. Just beware of the spicy seeds. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience absolutely warrants one. From the start, the service was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The owner was openly rude, dismissive, and showed zero interest in providing a welcoming environment. Customer care was just as distasteful and concerns were brushed off rather than addressed. The service itself was poorly managed. There were long, unreasonable waiting periods between courses, with little to no communication. All while reserving a prefix menu. Then, after all that waiting, we were suddenly rushed and told we had only 20 minutes to eat our food. That kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially after being seated for so long. To make matters worse, instead of taking accountability or offering a sincere apology, we were essentially "bribed" with a free bottle of Casamigos, as if that would make up for the disrespect and lack of professionalism. It didn't. This place markets itself as elegant and upscale, but that image is completely FAKE.!!!! Extreme waste of money . Do not go here ! Hostess / Owner of the restaurant is unprofessional and careless with her words towards customers. Arrived early to my reservation and our table was not ready so we sat by the bar and ordered cosmos. The drink was not good. Tasted very poorly constructed. When we were finally sat at our table which was a large party for a celebration we had a family style prefix menu. As we ordered our drinks , the expectation would be that the food would begin to flow out starting with apps . NO , the apps took forever to arrive and were NOT hot . Being that the apps were delayed we expected the main dishes to come shortly after . And yet we were wrong again ! Recieved our family style dinner after 10:30pm when the dinner service was ending and the space was being transitioned to a lounge. Staff all around us were moving chairs and tables everyone was being ushered out towards the bar area and we were incentivized to eat our food in 20 minutes so we could move and we would receive a complimentary bottle of alcohol. we had a birthday cake that was given to the kitchen to bring out to cut once dinner was over it took another hour for us to even retrieve the cake from the kitchen due to them being too busy transitioning the space. We were not even able to sing to the birthday person or cut the cake . Absolutely disgusted with the behavior of this place. read more
