They served it to me with nothing on it even though I asked for honey hot sauce. I took one bite and I couldn't eat it. It didn't seem like food. Staff was incredible too and while the space is on the smaller side, the bar takes up about half of it so plenty of spots available. Most awful, infuriating, customer service experience I've dealt with in my entire life. Walked in to pick up an order, checked in with the bartender and was told it was going to take a few more minutes, without even checking on the order. As I'm standing there waiting on the order, I notice a bagged up order sitting at the end of the bar, but I figured it's for someone else. A whole 15 minutes of patiently waiting for this order 15 minutes PAST the time it was supposed to be ready, I check in with the bartender again. Then, another employee immediately grabs the bag that was sitting there THE ENTIRE TIME and hands it over and has the audacity to lie to me and tell me that the order just came out. This idiotic bartender I initially checked in with was walking past the bag numerous times, and didn't think that maybe that bag contained the order I was waiting on. So just to be clear, I walked in and waited an entire 15+ minutes on an order that was ready and sitting on the counter BEFORE I EVEN WALKED IN. If I didn't follow up a second time, they would've had me standing there for hours while the bag continues to sit there. The sheer extent of carelessness, stupidity, disorganization, miscommunication, and lack of accountability is enough of a reason for any potential customer to never step foot in this abysmally run business after reading this review. read more

Today we ordered the unlimited mimosas at 2:30 ( for 11/2 hours) we were told at 3 pm even though we were only 1/2 hour in that the drink special ended at 3. So we paid for 11/2 hrs and received 30 min!! The food was great. The owner was nice but this was a game changer. Unfortunately we will not return! Sorry to all I recommend to go.. My cousins and I came here after a family funeral/wake for some drinks and dinner. The first time I tried Bourbon & Brews, I sat outside in the summertime with some friends and ordered dinner. Our waitress was slow and so were the food and drinks. I gave it a 4 because the food and drinks were excellent and the menu was different from other places I've been. Definitely not boring. Since then, I've been coming in every Monday for lunch and sitting at the bar. This place has blown away my expectations every time. The bartender, Bernice, is fabulous! She knows how to make a drink!! The merrick woods is by far my favorite. My friends and I usually start off with the bacon wrapped mozzarella. If you like mozzarella sticks, these blow any other ones out of the water! We also order boneless wings and usually switch up the sauce weekly to try out new ones. You can tell the sauces are made in house and they're all awesome!!! Bourbon peanut butter is my favorite so far! For lunch, I've been trying something new weekly. The burgers are handmade and so juicy! You can't go wrong! The 2006 grilled cheese is another favorite of mine. Chicken, cheese, jalapeño... another great one! The owner is a super friendly guy and even comes to check up on us to see how we're doing. This is a small, local bar that backs first responders. We went to the bar late afternoon 11/10/24 , for a little snack , a cocktail and a cup of tea. Kira was working. I know because I asked her her name We ordered the fries that came with hot sauce and blue cheese and a big pretzel. when we finally got the fries they were soggy and cold. We let the bartender know & she sent them back and it took 15 to 20 minutes before they came back out. There were only about three people sitting at the bar at the time. . When the fries finally came out of the kitchen they were exactly the same way they were when she took them away from us ...and still cold. When I said something to her about it she said "well what do you want the guy to do touch them with his fingers to make sure they're hot". Then she made a comment about maybe the oven isn't working right. I was under the impression that french fries went into a deep fryer . The way she brought the fries back to us was unacceptable. I also asked for a hot cup of tea For my 91-year-old mother and that was luke warm. She only took two sips and couldn't drink it at that temperature. I put the tea on the bar and said it was only lukewarm . There was never any attempt to get more hot water & when the bill came she had the nerve to charge five dollars for the cup of tea (that was cold. ) Tea doesn't even cost five dollars in the diner. after complaining, she took the tea off the bill . We got charged $.50 for ice and she said that was because the martini was a bigger pour. Last night's experience was Not a good one. In my opinion the bartender was not attentive to our needs and seemed more concerned about chatting with the three people at the other end of the bar than accommodating us. Customers service is very important and when the customer has concerns about how the food is being served , it should handled respectfully and not with snarky comments That isn't ok. I will never go in there again .. It felt as if she just shrugged us off as if we weren't valued customers . Maybe the owner should school some of his employees on customer service before putting them behind the bar . The customer is always right. Making asinine comments is a fast way to lose customers in my opinion . I never go on yelp to complain, but the service was poor & very disappointing .. I felt very disrespected when it came to my 91 year mom not being offered a hot cup of tea after saying it was luke warm. Sorry to have to give this kind of review. Wanted to add that the pretzel was delicious and that the previous visits to the bar were good .. the person behind the bar each of those times was very pleasant. Had a delicious lunch outside with a friend. We have both been wanting to come here for quite some time. Decided on lunch today as we were both off from work. To start we both had a Blue Point toasted lager. Perfect temperature for the outside heat. For an appetizer we shared the "big ol pretzel." It was big and perfect for sharing. She picked the "maple bourbon wich" sandwich. DELICIOUS! Flavors dancing on my tongue, I have a very happy belly. On the sandwich was chicken bites covered (but not overwhelming) with their maple bourbon sauce and then topped with cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. Very much a flavor explosion! My friend ordered the chix parm which. It had chicken, mozzarella, Parmesan and marinara sauce. She said it was good. All sandwiches and burgers come with your choice of fries. You can choose from sweet potato, maple bourbon, buffalo crumble, garlic parm, bourbon peanut butter, brown sugar bourbon or chili cheese. For my sandwich I chose the maple bourbon fries. They were AMAZING!!! Crispy and full of flavor. I never ever finish my fries when I go out, until today. My friend ordered garlic parm fries with her sandwich. You can either have the garlic parm sauce or the dry rub. She went with the sauce and enjoyed it. Food and service was great, A+. Our waitress was wonderful. Continued to check on us and was patient and even took up my odd request to pick my sandwich for me. She had on gloves and a mask throughout everything. Good crowd on a Thursday night. The outdoor seating was packed all night, not sure if you need reservations or first come first serve. Waitress didn't seem to know either. I was looking forward to the bourbon flight from their large list of bourbons. Unfortunately about half were out of stock including some we were interested in tasting. I asked him what happened and he said when he got there, the lady made a comment about how he was late in picking up the order. She grabs the food and then decides to say, "If the customer calls complaining it's cold, and I KNOW she will call cuz I KNOW Jenny... I'm going to blame YOU." LOL, WOW. My jaw legit dropped upon hearing this. My husband said he just took the food and left without saying a word. UH. FIRST OF ALL.. Ma'am, I can assure you, you DON'T know me. SECONDLY, if it the order was cold because MY HUSBAND picked it up late, I wouldn't call YOU to complain. THIRD, it was YOUR fault he was "late" because you didn't note that the order was ready for pickup on DoorDash. When I placed the order, the estimate was ~20 mins. You finally confirmed the order after 10 mins but changed the estimate to almost an hour. Then AFTER the hour had passed (the hubby was in the area waiting for the order to be ready) there was still NO notice that the order was ready for pickup. So that's on you. I have absolutely no tolerance for people who are so friggin rude for no reason. It's very possible she thought he worked for DoorDash and was picking up the order to deliver to me, but is it ok to treat food delivery people that way? Did you think this "DoorDash worker" would get nervous because you told him you "know" the customer? Did it make you feel empowered by threatening to blame him? Maybe it was because she was older. Maybe life had weathered her down, and she was now a blunt, no bullshit person. Maybe times have been hard, pandemic and all. Or maybe it was just her. The food was obviously cold by the time he got home, so we reheated it. The food itself would've been 3.5-4 stars. The B&B burger (1/2 lb angus beef, peanut butter, banana) was interesting. Burger cooked well, juicy. Could taste the banana but not really the peanut butter even though there was a visible glob. Bread was not your typical burger bun - it wasn't perfectly rounded and looked soft and fresh. The brown sugar bourbon fries were good, but not worth the additional $4 upcharge from the regular fries, just tasted like fries sprinkled with brown sugar. Was this meal worth $19? Probably not. Should it have taken over an HOUR to make a burger and fries at 2pm on a Sunday when the only customers you had were a few guys drinking at the bar? Probably not. Is a mildly decent burger worth this kind of "customer service"? That'll be a hard no. read more

My significant other likes to call this place his "favorite hole in a wall". To me it's not so much a hole in the wall but it is very, very good. Outdoor tables have their own personal heat lamps. Inside has plenty of space for tables (even though the bar itself is a bit narrow). Tons of craft beers to choose from, as well as a very impressive bourbon list. I believe they also have cocktails but we were here for beer and some bourbon. Thanks to Cuomo you also have to order food with your drinks so we each had a grilled cheese. They have a ton to choose from so you don't feel like it's off the kid's menu. I had the leftovers which included fried pickles and hot sauce. It was delicious. Food was fresh and the sweet potato fries appeared to be hand cut. The only issue was our food took forever to come out and they were not too busy when we arrived. Getting our check at the end was also a challenge. Our waiter made up for it by giving us two free shots of peanut butter whiskey but we were ready to go home after a long workday and waiting 20 minutes for our check isn't great. Otherwise a solid bar I will definitely visit again. Music is also good and is a good mix of every genre you could possibly think of. read more

We ate outside, the waitress was very pleasant. It's a pretty normal looking pub/bar atmosphere. The waitress recommend the Buffy Boy burger which was a burger with blue cheese and hot sauce on it, it was pretty good! My wife had gotten a chicken BBQ sandwich, which also had fried pickles and coleslaw on it. It was tasty, but I wondered if the chicken was pre-packaged. Overall I would lean a little more towards a 3.5, but the food was solid. We didn't order any alcohol, but overall enjoyed ourselves. This place is definitely nothing to write home about. I was excited to see a bar with a wide variety of bourbon. As one yelp reviewer pointed out, they were out of one that I ordered. The food is nothing special, sub par. Beside being generally overpriced, they charge 2.00 extra for a neat pour, while I get it because there's no ice, it's kind of a slap in the face to your bourbon clients. If you go for the whiskey, be aware that the flight is 30 dollars for four very small pours, complete rip. If you want to try it, go for it. Is it worth going back? I had high expectations for B&B because I've heard a lot of great reviews. However, after finally coming here on Wednesday night with 3 friends, it's a one and done for me. The food was mediocre at best and service was terrible. The mozzarella sticks were out of the box frozen ones, the pretzel took at least 40 minutes to come out and when it did it was ice cold, the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was dry and had zero seasonings and the waitress would disappear for 30-40 min at a time. We came in at 7:30 and weren't done until 11 when most of that time was waiting around for her to come back. The best thing of the night was the Merrick Woods drink. It was very flavorful and made you feel like it was time for fall. I know times are hard right now but that doesn't mean you can slack on the things that make a restaurant stand out. read more

Solid 5 on the service, 4 on the food but I gotta give it a 3 for the up charge for using credit...welcome to 2020 where no one carries cash so charging extra is just another way to nickel dime society when you know the profit they make on the drinks alone will more than compensate for using a credit card. But anyway the bartender was fantastic, i didn't catch her name but she really went out of her way for us-top notch. We came for happy hour and spent way more than anticipating but it was all good stuff. I got the bloodless cosmo which was gin instead of vodka and it was really good and my bf got their version of a White Russian-also fab. For food we split the garlic mozzy bites, cheeseburger sliders, garlic parm fries, mozzarella sticks and the bourbon peanut butter fries. I loved the peanut butter fries but I wish they were crispier! The garlic parm fries were the bomb tho, crisped to perfection. The rest was all pretty good too and it was really large portions. Came here after getting my nails done in the shopping area over. I was just so curious to see what they did to the former dive bar that was Mennas. Very nice industrial motif with a vaudevillian nod (large light up signage with the name of the bar inside). When I walked in I was greeting by a delightfully friendly little pup. There were two other people in the bar, probably managers or something. I ordered a bourbon beer and it was alright. The bartender was very nice and pointed out the craft beer menu behind me to assist in making my beer choice. I don't drink much but did enjoy the beer. It's a long bar with small tables on the other side. It's just not comfortable. Though the bartender was nice, she didn't chat me up. As a single female walking into a bar at around 2, I would expect that. It would be an easy sell. I thought, man Mennas is a thing of the past, and then as if on queue, a former client walks in.
