This is one of my favorite places in RVC. It's a little quieter. Plenty of parking. Great food and drinks. The owner makes his own corned beef, and has some awesome dishes like corned beef tacos and corned beef egg rolls, which are insanely delicious. My personal favorite is the shepherd's pie. Went there for lunch with my friend and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the Old Fashion Corned Beef sandwich with a side salad and wine. The corned beef was fresh, tender, and delicious. Lets not forget the local family owned restaurants, and there are many, that really need our support. Radigan's came through for us once again with a great dinner. Chicken Francaise was excellent. The Chicken Tidbit (also available steak) was excellent loaded with chicken, cheese, bacon, fried onions and bacon. Pretty damn tasty. Comes with a house salad or fries. My wife and I had an excellent meal at Radigans Pub a few days ago and enjoyed a terrific dinner. We went at around 5:00 PM, mid-week, so the place was nearly empty. The service was great.The waitress was watching the bar and the tables. We both had salads and a beer. I had the famous Shepherd's Pie (Tasty, see: photo) and bread pudding dessert. My wife had the deluxe hamburger and fries. The burger had a wee bit of onion mixed into the chopped meat. (?). We sat around and had some coffee after dinner. All-in-all a great experience. First off our server was excellent, very patient and accommodating, her name was lisa! As We follow the rules of lent we all avoid meat on Friday for the following few weeks so we all decided on the fish and chips and we were all satisfied! We didn't have a lot to eat, but the bread basket was delicious with Irish soda bread rolls and one of us had the creamy lobster bisque . This is a local neighborhood pub..... making some really great pub food and drinks. The three choices of egg rolls are amazing.... buffalo chicken, corned beef, and cheese burger.... what a great idea, one taste better than the next. They specialize in corned beef, there's an entire lower section on the menu dedicated to this tender and flavorful meat. You can have it in sandwiches ( many types), in an egg roll, or a platter with cabbage and mashed potatoes. Service here is very efficient and friendly. They play a great soundtrack of 90's rock at a very considerate level so you can have a conversation with your dinner guests. Center of the dining room is a cozy gas burning stone fireplace that adds to the pub feel. My only complaint is the price they charge for a top shelve Long Island Ice Tea... $18.00, I have never paid that price anywhere in NYC and come to think about it anywhere in the world. Guys you need to reconsider that price point. By the way, their dessert special banana bread with banana foster's sauce and slice banana's and three scoops of vanilla ice cream was one of the best dessert's I've had anywhere. stopped in on a Thursday night. It was not packed and loud......and I loved that!!! Sat at the bar. Bartender, Joanne was friendly. Served us our beers and food and kept the songs playing!! Was torn between the corn beef sandwich and Shepard's pie. Went with corn beef. Stopped in again after Christmas and before New Years Eve. Again, not packed and loud. And I loved it again. Have a glass of damn good house wine for $3 from 4-7 PM. If you're feeling hungry, head for the separate dining room. I love that it's separate! The food is top notch. Three-way fajitas included shrimp (3 big ones), steak and chicken and a goodly supply of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. Meat was quality and nice and tender. I'm so coming back for this again. We've been twice and have also experienced the Pot Stickers (excellent app), corned beef sandwich, fries (really good: lightly crispy outside, so soft inside, great consistency and not at all greasy) and just tonight I had the French Dip sandwich which is made with hanger steak. Yum! Thin, tender, and cooked medium as requested. The au jus had soft sliced onion in it. Also had a house salad with mine instead of fries. Raspberry vinaigrette dressing was thick and tasty and it was a baby green salad, no iceberg in sight. Everything is made to order, tastes great and is reasonably priced. Leftovers are wrapped with a smile. And, when you're done eating you can belly back up to the bar. So here's a great bar/tavern for your drinking pleasure or just to hang out, along with a dining room serving some seriously good chow with warm and friendly service. I went here today for dinner with my family. First off, this is a bar. You have to go past the bar to get to the dining area. The dining area is adequate, tonight there was a leak because of the rain. We sat at a booth. The waitress, Cindy, was friendly. We ordered a half rack of baby back ribs, fish and chips and Shepherds pie. The ribs were dry, a big disappointment. Fish and chips were good. Shepherds pie tasted good as well. Overall it was good. Prices were a little high for a bar. Every Friday there is live entertainment but we could not hear the band because it was so loud at the bar. read more

Something must have happened with the owners or the chef at Radigan's since all these reviews were left. I went with a group of friends on St. Paddy's Day. The menu was Price Fix at $45.95 per person. They had four seatings and we were at the second seating and the first to be served no less. When the Irish Soda Bread and Rolls came out, the waiter said they had run out of butter. The Irish Soda Bread didn't even resemble Irish Soda Bread. The salad, appetizers and entree came out with not time to spare. The Appetizers were great! However the Caesar salad was served in what can best be explained a small take out container of rice from a Chinese restaurant, with dressing which seemed more creamy Italian than Caesar. There were several entrees to choose from. Several selected the corned beef and cabbage platter. The corned beef was good, the cabbage was sparse and the potatoes were mashed with gravy on them. Not boiled. The vegetable was broccoli, no carrots. The dessert was either two small scoops of ice cream or bread pudding with one scoop of ice cream. Both were small in size. They provided non alcoholic drinks for free. We were finished our meal within 45 minutes. Another member of our group ordered two corned beef sandwiches which came with french fries. The sandwiches had only about 2 or 3 slices of corned beef, no cabbage and no mustard. The only thing Irish about this place was the Guinness that was served at the bar. read more

Went here for St Patrick's Day. We had a 5:45 seating. Service was quick and friendly. Nice menu, lots of choices. I had my rum punch, delicious. We started off with Caesar Salad, our table shared Reuben Egg Rolls, AMAZING. I had the corned beef platter. Very good! My friend had Shepard's Pie. She loved it. i come here with my dad quite often and everytime i go it is absolutely delicious. radigans is one of my go to spots, and their burgers are absolutely delightful. my go to order is the ranch burger. as someone who eats burgers at every restaurant i go to, radigans has genuinely one of my favorites of all time. the staff are so friendly to talk to as well. everything is clean, the staff check in with you to make sure you're satisfied. my friends grab drinks here as well and say they're delightful! read more

So what do you want in a local bar/restaurant? A friendly staff, with a decent selection of food and beverage offerings, at a reasonable price and the feeling that they appreciate your business. And you might even meet the owner, who lives near his place and willing to have a friendly conversation about his place. This describes Radigan's. Its in local neighborhood, with a small parking lot in the rear - but there is some street parking. It tends to be an Irish pub, but its not only an Irish pub - so you can get more than Corned Beef from their menu. They have a happy hour, which is popular. They have 18-20 taps and a fully loaded bar. The Menu has sandwiches and salads, but also a full dinner menu. The staff is great. Friendly and willing to help and engage. There is a bar section and a restaurant section with a large fireplace. Its worthwhile dropping in and checking out this pub. read more

Had a chance to stop by Radigan's pub some weekends ago for a late dinner, after a show at nearby Molloy College. Radigan's is apparently known for its corned beef, and the reviews here were rather stellar, so . . . Tale of the tape: Eggplant Chips: very thin and delicately fried eggplant rounds, which practically fall apart when you breathe on them! What made these a little strange to me, however, was that they are drizzled with honey, which of course made them a little sweet. It seems to me a rather odd culinary choice for eggplant to be sweet . . . I would rather have had some sort of balsamic drizzle (or dip) accompaniment to these otherwise very good, light, airy and rather unique chips. Eggrolls The eggroll sampler comes with a total of three, with a choice of three different types. It's possible to order one of each: - Bacon Cheeseburger: an eggroll with chopped meat, cheese and bacon inside, as the name implies. However, I didn't really taste any bacon, and the meat wasn't seasoned properly, if at all. It comes surrounded by ketchup, which it needs to give it some flavor. - Buffalo Chicken: chopped chicken in buffalo sauce, in a pool of ranch sauce. Not a bad bite, but if you like spicy, this will not satisfy. - Corned Beef Reuben: easily the best of the three! Radigan's tender corned beef, with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese, perched on a smear of thousand island dressing. Lump Crabcakes While appearing to be fried up proper, the cakes themselves unfortunately had a slight mushy consistency. There was nothing substantial to bite into, but what is worse is that they had no real flavor. Additionally, they are accompanied by a sweet pickle horseradish tarter sauce, which had no kick to it whatsoever. A spicy remoulade would definitely have made the 'cakes a better bite... Caesar Salad Lettuce shredded up proper, and just the right amount of cheese. The croutons were a good soft crunch. There was a drizzle of dressing that was just the right amount, but what threw me was the taste of the dressing. It had a good vinegar aspect, but not the flavorful creaminess you'd expect in a good Caesar dressing. It may have been a light type dressing and/or a thick vinaigrette Caesar, which is not what I would choose for any salad, and which definitely affected my enjoyment. Dad's Reuben Sandwich - Corned Beef: very lean, tender and just the right temperature. I did think, however, that it could have been a bit more seasoned for what could be a GREAT corned beef, but what is nonetheless a Very Good corned beef. - Thousand island dressing: it simply did not have the tang you expect from this type of dressing. There wasn't too much of it on the sandwich, and I almost asked for some spicy brown mustard. - Sauerkraut: Not much on the sandwich, and it was somewhat on the bland side. - Toasted Rye: while the top of the sandwich was toasted up proper, the bottom slice was oddly soft. I wouldn't say it was soggy, but though it looked, it nonetheless didn't feel toasted. There must be some way for restaurants to keep the bottom bun or bread from getting sogged out by the heat, contents or the accompaniments of any given sandwich. There's nothing worse to the enjoyment of a sandwich than picking it up and the bottom bun/bread/toast is either to moist, wet, or downright drippingly soggy. - French Fries: the best! Light and crispy on the outside, light potato perfection on the inside. You will finish these before you know it, and WILL consider getting an additional side dish order. Slow down and enjoy them - they are some of the best fries I've ever had, oh yeah! Turkey Burger: had a chance to sample the Turkey Burger, and wish I hadn't. It has the consistency and taste of a kitchen sponge, avoid at all costs! I suspect it has a lot of filler material, and very little actual turkey. Service The server was pleasant and attentive for the most part, and the owner, who turned out to be his mom, was gracious. Conclusion The food at Radigan's was somewhat inconsistent, and in my humble opinion would benefit from some slight tweaks. That said, it is worth stopping by merely for the fries and the corned beef alone. Final note If they're having a private party in the dining room area, it could be dicey to enjoy a late dinner here, as it was when I was there. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. Below are some things you definitely need to try when you go: APPETIZERS: -Corned Beef Tacos: comes with hot corned beef, cole slaw and spicy mustard on a soft taco. THESE ARE LIKE CRACK!!! Amazing taste and well worth the price. You get 2 per order. ENTREE: -Flank Steak Sandwich: a great sandwich and the dipping sauce is amazeballs. I only said I was going to eat a handful of fries (damn Weight Watchers!) but the sauce sealed the deal.
