Surprisingly tender steak sandwich. The look sucks though. Lol
    Cher Y.

To my surprise, their steak sandwich was fairly good! The store is almost too unpretentious lol and yes service is sad:))) Better to remind yourself "be focusing"...

Our new favorite! Awesome food and excellent prices!!

Great service, amazing food!! That's all I have to say, but Yelp won't let me post with just that.

    Turkey dinner

Stopped for a quick dinner and we were greeted by Marcus. He set up a table and made us feel welcomed. We ordered our drinks and some Buffalo wings to start while we decided what else to order. Decided on a turkey dinner and a turkey club. The wings were great. Crispy and just the right amount of hot. Both turkey orders were delicious! The crowd was mostly college aged but don't let that stop you! It's a fun place to visit and the food is top shelf bar food! Thanks Marcus for being such a great host!

The "shepherd's pie" was to DIE for... my son Jimmy had the "mushroom burger" which he VERY MUCH ENJOYED. My daughter Alice had the "hot turkey dinner" which she proclaimed was "A WINNER".... LOL. My husband joe had the "chef's salad" (my suggestion..... LOL) and he said it was the best salad he's ever had! I told him I wouldn't write here that it was the ONLY salad he's ever had ;-) LOL !!! We will definitely be coming back here!!!!

    Gallaghers awful fish and chips.

This was the worst experience in recent memory. Kitchen probably as dirty as their fry fat. The whole experience just awful. Waiter inept. Obvious they they don't care though.

I'm very conflicted about this place. The people were nice... I guess if your a local it a good place to hang out. It's so small we almost passed it by ...you walk up steps to the door which is like an actual house door...aluminum on the bottom glass on to, then you open the wood "front" door. You walk right into a small cramped bar. There were not many seats and they were all occupied so we waited to be seated and someone at the bar said to sit anywhere. In a few moments the bartender, who was very nice, came to take our drink order and gave us a dollar tree clip board with the hand written specials scribbled on a piece of paper. The specials really didn't do anything to add to the limited menu. I had the Caesar Salad my boyfriend had a mushroom burger with fries. Both were good typical bar food nothing to rave about. The decor of the dining area leaves a lot to be desired. A small curtain with shamrocks divides the dinning area from the bar. The curtain looks like it hadn't been washed in years. There were windows that look out to the street but they were also covered by curtains giving the small area an even more closed in feeling. Christopher took over as our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive to us. As I said I'm conflicted because it's a nice enough place but don't think I would recommend it to anyone.

    Crochet belongs everywhere...agree?

Great local bar! Cheap drinks, great wings, fun people. Whenever I'm down from RI it's a must do... Must ask about the infamous "twins"

We stayed in the bar area as that takes up the majority of the interior; there are, however, some booths and a separate room with tables. Decor was simple - typical bar/pub aesthetics. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived so we had our choice of seats which was nice. The menu was more extensive than I expected. There's a selection of apps, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, soups, fajitas, and burgers - with several sections having a "make your own" option. I decided to go with a sandwich - specifically, the chicken pesto was speaking to me. This was grilled chicken with mozz, pesto sauce, and roasted red peppers on a roll. The sandwich was good - flavorful with all the components marrying well together. The bread was also soft enough that it broke through my bites; I was concerned being a hard roll that it would be too tough, but the consistency was perfect. I opted for tots instead of fries on the side which were good as well. Service was good - our server was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the Barefoot Peddler. The food was tasty, and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm in the area again.

We never had to wait for anything and she was also a lot of fun. This is a great place to go if you want a fun, relaxed place with great food. The bartender is also awesome. He's funny, attentive and you can tell he really enjoys hanging out with the people he is serving. We will definitely be back!

Halibut special was not with $44 as the vegetables were nice but the fish was not seasoned and almost tasteless. Fish and chips: Fish was actually very good but the fries were not. For desert, lava cake apparently good but the apple crisp wasn't crisp at all, just a mushy oatmeal covering over cooked apples. A sad end to a meal that cost almost $360. Won't be back.

We were full by the time it came to dessert, so we didn't order anything, but menu looked tempting. While we were there we saw a ton of take-out orders being picked up, so obviously a local favorite. It was bright and sunny outside, but traditionally dark and well worn inside. You order at the bar and they bring everything to your table. Owners were very nice as you'd expect. I got their house bitter cask ale. Very good however please note this is close to room temperature than a typical cold beer; I personally love the style and this was a good example. My son doesn't understand that British people call fries chips, so we ended up having to get him French fries and potato chips. They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.
