Been meaning to come try this out for awhile, and so glad we did! The food was excellent! The relaxed pub feel was perfect for the dreary rainy weather outside. You order at the bar and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was so perfectly prepared and the shepherds pie had great flavor, it wasn't just a boring brown gravy it had a little kick to it. Looking forward to coming back to try more menu items!

Can't rave enough about this place! Went for the Wednesday night trivia (first and third Weds of every month) and it was a blast! Sooo lively and charming. Felt like I was back in London where I studied abroad. A mix of US and British trivia. Packed with people of all ages, dogs, kids. And the food is five stars! Loved the cheese-and-onion hand pasty so much. Buttery, flaky crust, flavorful caramelized onion, gooey and so fresh. Trying the vegetable curry bake next and their toffee sticky pudding. Shoutout to Steve for the recs, and the kindest Englishman in Westchester. 5 stars!!!!

I am overall very impressed with how this place has turned out. I've been wanting to try this place since I first came here to try their food. My fiancée and I finally had the chance and we are incredibly happy with. The place inside is beautiful. I love how they have TVs everywhere that look like picture frames. Gives it a unique touch. The chairs are very comfortable and some don't have backs making easier to get up and down. The bartenders were so nice and helpful. They brought everything to our table when it was ready. The bathrooms were very clean and have a slide door to get into. Never really seen that before so I thought it was cool. The food tasted amazing. I had the shepherds pie and it was very flavorful. Over all happy and will definitely come again.

An amazing spot that makes you feel like walking into a local spot in London. Everything about this pub is great: the food, service, cleanliness, and cute friendly local owners as best final touch. We loved everything we got and cant wait to come back again!

I have followed this place online for ages and finally popped in as an expat, finding proper fish and chips in NY is usually like spotting the Loch Ness Monster. But The Ambleside Pub absolutely nails it. The bar's a beauty clearly crafted by someone who's spent a few evenings "researching" in British pubs and the whole place has that cozy-meets-classy feel that makes you want to settle in for a long session. Jimmy behind the bar is an absolute legend, friendly, fast, and full of the kind of banter you'd expect from a bloke who's poured more pints than he's had hot dinners. Highly recommend giving this place a go, and I'll definitely be back to see if the Sunday roast lives up to the hype (no pressure, Jimmy).

Walkable distance from Mt Kisco train station with great beer and good food. Good for friends meet or team dinners.

Pork Pie & Potatoes, Chips& a proper Gravy. Amazing! Reminded me of the one I had at the Raven Pub in Bath.

This place is a legit British pub with legit Fish and Chips and legit hand-pumped beer. If you are from the UK and miss home, this is as close as you will get. I had, of course, the Fish and chips and a local stout served with a pump. Both were outstanding and reminded me of my days in the UK. I understand they also serve a legit British breakfast. Excellent addition to the neighborhood. Since you're in the US, remember to tip well and always use "please" and "thank you" with the bartender and servers.

Fish and chips! Bangers and mash! Sticky toffee pudding! We came here recently a year after our first visits and we left wondering why we don't come here more often. The food here is so solid. The cod is a generous hunk of fried goodness (think light and airy) and the fries are thick like steak fries. The bar staff and wait staff are all so kind and congenial here. And the atmosphere is what you expect from a traditional British pub. Dimly lit (perfect casual spot for your first or second date), lots of cute English tsotchkes, nice tv screens that are camouflaged as elegant paintings when a game isn't showing, room temp hand pulled draft beer - what more can you ask for?

Despite that, our party of four was seated immediately, which was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was lively and loud because of the games, but not in a bad way. However, we were seated toward the back near the kids' area, and there were children screaming at the top of their lungs. Not the restaurant's fault at all, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter experience -- this is clearly a very kid-friendly spot. We started with the fried pickles. They were tasty, but the portion was quite small and the presentation was pretty underwhelming. For my main, I ordered the French onion soup and boneless wings. The soup was great, but the wings were just okay -- very dry and lacking flavor. I ordered garlic parmesan, but could barely taste the sauce. The rest of my group ordered burgers and said they were pretty good, and everyone agreed the fries were excellent. They have a large beer selection, and the beer was cold, which is always a plus. They also have games like darts, which would be fun to come back and play. Overall, it's a decent place to watch a game if you're in the area. I won't rush back, but everything was pretty middle-of-the-road -- and to be fair, the place doesn't seem like it's trying to be anything more than that.

Most likely of them litter the earth like wrappers from spent candy bars, a constant reminder of good times gone by. And then you get The Blazer. It is one of those places that shouldn't be there but it is and we are all the better for it. A low ceiling, low lights, jubilant conversation in the background all make for a snug setting. The bar is a seen out of Cheers with the conversation between business man and blue collar foreman flowing as quickly and easily as the beer from the tap. The drinks are cold and served quickly with a smile but it's the food that takes the crown. The menu is small but everything is cooked and presented perfectly. In all the years God has blessed me with life I have never had a better chicken wing. The Blazer traditional wing is served dry with limited spice but full flavored and from a temperature standpoint hotter than the devil's pitchfork. They were perfectly cooked, completely rendered, flavorful gifts of gastronomic joy. The burgers, cooked in a broiler style format, were fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious and of ample portion. The chicken fingers, which were each one a meal, served red hot, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and tender within. The chili cheese dog was everything it should be and the French fries, which are a traditional steak fry cut, were incredibly crunchy on the outside and soft and tender within. Every bar and pub owner and chef should come here. This is the superlative example of a simple menu, cooked perfectly and served quickly with a smile. It is obvious that the setting, service and menu gets them to come back again and again across generations from miles and miles around.

We came as we understood the wings were the best in Westchester County... After trying two varieties, and being on a perennial wing trail chase for the last four years... I find that title difficult to believe. Wings were meaty, cooked correctly, and came well appointed with blue cheese and celery. Plus, I'm a sucker for wing establishments that provide the wooden bowl for bones. I love that. Otherwise, I found the wings lightly sauced, and kind of dry... We tried the blazers traditional, which are fried, sauce, then refried... They needed one more dunk in sauce to be top-notch. Our second order was their teriyaki wings... much more palatable... But we're still lacking. And I'm not a huge fan of wings that are not sauced in a hot sauce base. The opportunity to add a side of wasabi sauce to any wings was a welcome addition... As we needed the moisture. We did not try any other menu items, but the pub food looked delicious... And our server was fantastic. I do look forward to going back and trying to order things slightly differently... I'll chalk this first experience up on me not really strategically placing my order or knowing how to maximize the potential of a really great place. I know next time will be better.

I don't understand a lot of the negative reviews here. On a rainy stormy night we drove about 1/2…read morehour from Kent to visit this place that I had heard so much about, and the food did not disappoint. They have mint juleps at the bar, very nice! We split a caesar salad for an app, plenty for both of us, and perfectly dressed and crisp (despite some other reviewer whining about it being "bland"). For entrees, I'm not normally a meat loaf lover, but was intrigued by the inclusion of black truffle oil and marsala sauce and so ordered it. It was rather outrageously good, the accompanying summer veggies very flavorful. Partner had the seafood pot pie, very yummy except for the inclusion of fennel, which I personally do not care for. He loved it although the broth/gravy was a little thin for his taste. He plans to thicken it up a bit when he tackles the leftovers. My Cotes du Rhone wine with meal was delicious, but came in a smallish glass; could have benefited from a larger pour and a larger glass to expand the aroma. For dessert, which we don't always order, we had some sort of perfectly decadent chocolate lava type cake with just the right amount of ice cream. Way better than any lava cake I ever had! The accompanying coffee, even my decaf, was stellar. We sat in the room opposite the bar, at the windows next to the tumbling brook outside. Very nice atmosphere. The only mistep I would say was that when we called at 7.30 to make reso's, the gal on the phone stressed that the "kitchen closes at 8:00" and that we would have to order right away. We said okay no problem but were a tad worried about being rushed. She hung up before I could give my name and number in party. When we arrived, about 10 minutes to 8, the hostess who had answered the phone seemed confused and asked us if we were the ones who had called to see "if they were open". I said, well, we called for reservations, but you hung up before I could give my name. Despite this initial unwelcome-vibe weirdness, our waitress, Fiona, made us feel perfectly welcome and not rushed. Although she too did come to tell us, about 15 minutes in, that "the kitchen was closing" but we had already ordered and desserts weren't an issue. Something must have happened with a customer to make them gun-shy about this. In a nutshell, don't show up inside of an hour of the posted closing time if you want to be sure about getting served. And BTW the closing times on Google are incorrect; they are only open until 10 on Fridays and Saturdays, not every day. Although it's a long drive from where we actually live, we definitely plan to come back in winter to sit next to the cozy fireplace and sample the famous chicken pot pie and shepherd's pie croquettes. My partner absolutely loved this place, and he's quite picky.

The buns were hard and stale. my partner ordered medium-rare, but it came out bone dry, almost white throughout. Crumbly meat. The server never asked if the nearly untouched plate was okay, just dropped the check. It was overpriced and utterly disappointing. To top it all off, I was confined to the bathroom shortly thereafter. Don't have solid proof this place was the culprit.... But I don't have solid anything else either Update: my partner has food poisoning too. Do not come here. The lovely location is not a good enough excuse to ruin your night.
