Fiancé and I came here because he saw that they came out on Man VS Food and so we figured we could try something new. Along with our 3 week old daughter, he ordered a burger and I ordered the Mac and Cheese. Both delicious options with zero disappointment. Staff was so friendly and attentive. They also were enamored with my daughter. Lots of beautiful compliments. It just made my family's experience a more pleasant one. We got a beautiful photo of us taken from a patron. "Thank you sir"! It was our family's first restaurant/ dining experience together. We were so happy with the experience that we already planned on coming back again. Thank you staff for a great first outing with our brand new daughter.

Cute Halloween decor & pub/restaurant vibes. The staff was friendly and really cared about their customers. Frequent check-ins & food was good simple bar food!

Popped in here mid afternoon for a late lunch / snack and it was pretty busy! We sat at a high top at the bar and my cousin and I shared the BEST potato skins ever (not your typical skins, sliced thinly in triangles and covered in cheese - I am still dreaming about these) and some steamed edamame. Service was friendly and the decor was kitschy fun - like most of the area. I would go back for the potato skins again and again!

Cute convenient location down the street from the Sleepy Hollow Bookshop. Good staff - very accommodating for a large group. They forgot parts of my friends dishes but once we reminded them, they fixed it right away. . American food. Very basic but good and fresh. Be prepared for a wait in the autumn. They list themselves as Halloween central but there's not much special about it. Some standard Halloween decor and lights. Only weird thing is they don't have a cocktail menu. They have a liquor menu but no mixed drinks. Had to ask the waitress if they had any cocktails or specialty drinks and she recommended the pumpkin spice martini. French onion soup was great on a chilly wet fall day. Chicken Caesar salad was a large portion. It was fresh. Very basic.

My friends and I visited JP Doyle's last weekend. It was all decorated for Halloween and I loved every second of it. I ordered their traditional burger, and it was delicious! The fries were also fantastic. I highly suggest all of them. The waitress was super nice and helpful. Great restaurant!

The service from the manager (I am assuming the owner due to authentic accent, older lady) was amazing. She kept checking in although she was not our waiter. Jokes with my son, brought him paper to color and even gave a free ice cream scoop. The food on the other hand missed the mark. On the steak sandwich was the cheap fake I think Kraft plastic cheese that when cooked burns instead of melts (as seen in photos). The chicken sandwich just had a weird awful taste and was really wet inside but not juicy wet if that makes sense and had to be sent back. The potato skins were good but they are sliced more like potato chips and skins which was unique but good to know before ordering. The service saved the grade but sadly won't be returning.

This is a nice relaxed place to go eat, with a 'pub' feel. Their hamburgers are amazing.

Where do you park?

Depending on when, street parking is easier than anywhere in midtown. I was just there for a friend's show (Sunday evening) and parked a block away on 104th but walking to the door there were spots right out front!

It's a small house with a little parking lot, although you can park anywhere in the street here. Basically it's just a bunch of tables surrounding a bar in a loft space. While the place is old, it doesn't look like it inside; pretty sleek and renovated. Also very loud as folks are mostly here to watch sports games and the sound echoes big time. Service was good albeit pretty slow; we got basic stuff and it took forever to get our food as well as the check. Not ideal as my son was with us. I got the namesake roast beef sandwich with waffle fries. Sandwich was pretty good although not the absolute best I've had. Would've preferred it more rare. Au jus was good, while the cheese was jut American. Waffle fries were clutch. My wife and kid both enjoyed their food too. If you could promise me I could come back and it wouldn't be busy, I'd be happy to return. For now my wife is sensitive to sound, and my son doesn't want to be wait forever for a check. Was worth a shot at least!

It is small and cozy, and every seat has a perfect view of no less than 5 tvs for all your games. The menu was perfect for the vibe (apps, pizza, salads, burgers, and sandwiches) and of course a full bar. Our server was fantastic! We opted for apps to get us through the first half of the 1pm game, fried zucchini sticks and nachos, with a few drinks. It was cooked perfectly and while the place was pretty packed, it never got too loud and there was still plenty of room. The vibe was family friendly and fun. 10/10!

I'm writing this review 'glass half full', as I think some of the reviews here are too harsh…read moreand/or unrealistic. As should be obvious, Barley is a bar on the river next to the Marina in Tarrytown. It's by commuter parking which is kind of a pain in the butt. Whole place is outside, so it is a rather dependent. It's also not a yacht club or something, so expect no frills. Bartenders are friendly just the same. Not the cleanest tap lines, however plenty of good bottle and drink options. Prices are higher than they should be however not unreasonable. Lots of tables however they do get snatched up quick; luckily the bar itself is nice. Food is of the greasy spoon variety. If you get French fries or something like that, you'll be happy. They don't have a Michelin star (nor should they) so don't get too ambitious. Plenty of fine options for lunch. They have live music a lot, and the performers are pretty good. Want to see a bunch of old white people dancing? This is your spot. My toddler led us here, literally following the music from the playground across the water, and we had a great time. Very enjoyable place overall that is greater than the sum of its parts. Just come chilled out and you'll enjoy it.

Sunday prix fixe brunch was an amazing experience--$44.95 for a three-course meal (appetizer,…read moreentrée, and dessert) is such a great deal given the quality and quantity of food with each course z The restaurant interior is stunning, with beautiful views overlooking the Hudson River. My husband went with the à la carte French toast accompanied with a fresh berry compote and homemade whip cream. The bread was a house-made challah bread . He said it was the best he's French toast he's ever had. Served with real maple syrup, which made it even better. The Bloody Marys were fantastic--perfectly spicy, with a noticeable kick of horseradish. The Bellini was just as delicious, and the coffee was served hot and full of flavor. I opted for the prix fixe menu . It was difficult to choose as there were many options to choose from. I decided on the mushroom risotto as a first course which was outstanding--perfectly creamy risotto topped either mushrooms and a delicate touch of annato oil that brought everything together beautifully. For my main course again, many options that I could've went with, but decided on the eggs Benedict with pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful. The country, potatoes, sautéed with onions and red peppers, were so tasty, and the side salad with dressing was light and refreshing. I also loved that there were several protein options you could've chose from to go on top of the English muffin beneath the poached eggs. We were too full to enjoy dessert there, but we took it home--an apple cheesecake dress with caramel sauce, and that same homemade whipped cream . Since we were taking it home, we forgo'd the vanilla ice cream which also came with this dessert . The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive--water glasses were refilled without asking, and plates were cleared promptly. The space also features a beautiful large bar and an outdoor patio, which I can't wait to come back and enjoy. Lots of parking in the surrounding and immediate areas and free on Sundays.
