We ordered delivery from here and the food was very good, but I think I would switch up my order the next time. I started with the Italian chopped salad which I probably wouldn't get again since it was expensive but so small and hardly contained any meat/cheese. I also got a pizza with prosciutto on top and next time I would get it without the prosciutto since it ended up being spicy (I'm not sure if they added the wrong meat). They wanted to seat us at was right in the middle of everything just no, but they were able to accommodate us and put us in their other room which had a very cool vibe to it. I would rearrange the table set up and not try and squeeze people in into the space together. Other than that, the food was excellent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was very nice. Loved it! Met a work colleague for dinner and we shared a couple of appetizers and the mushroom pizza. The cauliflower rocked my world with the right amount of crunch, savory notes and sweetness. The cashews brought even more nutty fabulousness to my oh-so-hangry palette. The Brussels sprouts? Fabulous. Tangy, crispy sprout perfection with some pistachio nuts thrown in for good measure. The pizza was also perfect! REALLY tasted the mushrooms...plus the dough/crust was full of flavor. Staff is excellent-attentive and efficient. My wife and I wanted a light dinner and tried Locali in Mt. Kisco. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant itself which must have been the train station building back in the day. I had stuffed fried zucchini flowers and my wife had polenta bites as appetizers and a margarita pizza for dinner, all brought to us by a charming server. Food all around was excellent as was the service. Ample parking but be advised you are going to the train station so there will be a lot of cars. read more

This really hurts me to do. As you can see below, I really used to LOVE this place. I have very rarely changed a review..but times change and not always for the better..and a 5 star review is not guaranteed for life..especially when they lost their best employee. So we went in today, were completely ignored by the owner. (was talking to someone about renting the private room, fair enough..not a multitasker) Sat ourselves and ordered lunch and wine. The Bartender who took over for Jonathan is nice. Food was ok ..Definitely fell off some since my original review. Maybe I'm needy or whatever..but my thing is this, if I owned a Restaurant and there were literally only 2 people in the entire place, before ordering myself a pizza and taking it upstairs to my office to eat, I'd at least greet my only 2 costumers, maybe ask them how their meal was??.maybe I'm being extra...or maybe there is a reason why we where the only 2 people there for all of lunch service...Anyway, we drive down from Putnam to eat here ( used to Anyway ) too many good Italian spots a lot closer to us to waste the time. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, being inside the old MTA-Rail station, and great decor. Sitting at a high booth looking out over the small park across the street was nice. The booths were comfortable too! More importantly, the pizza was incredible! The fat chicken pizza was loaded with flavor and d the crust was delicious! Baked in what looked like a wood-fired brick oven, it had the perfect level of heat leaving a soft crust that wasn't overdone or charred. The dough was so good I ate the crust my kids did t eat but the cheese was the real winner here. The combination of dough, chicken sausage, scallions, and most importantly, the fior di latte cheese (cows milk mozzarella), was perfect!! Hope to stop through here again sometime to try the rest of their menu! On service: our server, Jonathan, was as great as the good! I didn't expect much from this place, initially. It sits right next to the Mt. Kisco Metro North stop and from the outside, it doesn't look particularly spectacular. Expect to hear a lot of trains coming through, a lot of recorded announcements, and some commuter traffic -- and if you sit outside in the summer, the whine of mosquitoes right before they eat you alive. After several visits, however, we have to note that there is some legit skill in this kitchen. The wood oven fired pizzas and branzino have been beautiful in our experience. Locali doesn't have the pretense of describing these pizzas as Neapolitan, but the pleasantly glutinous dough is baked at a high temperature and remains a touch moist in the middle of the pie, so that they certainly evoke their Neapolitan cousins. (Read: You can't easily fold these slices.) The sauce is balanced and quite good, the cheese on the kids' pizza ($12) not overly high brow, which is as they prefer it. (It's the tougher, somewhat pressed and probably mass produced version of "fresh" mozzarella.) The 3 AM pizza ($19; San Marzano, pepperoni, calabrian chili, smoked mozzarella, sliced garlic) was legitimately spicy, delicious to the grown ups, but a little too much for the budding spicehead in our family. Where pizzas have been consistently good to us, a recent wood-fired branzino preparation ($31) was GREAT. The skin was so gorgeously crisped from the wood fired oven and the fish itself so fresh that even the kiddos enjoyed multiple bites. I wasn't asked about a serving preference and the fish came butterflied with pesto verde and rosso (both excellent) over a bed of I believe sauteed / pan fried small potatoes, rich with olive oil and garnished with parsley. It would've been wonderful if the potatoes had gotten the wood fire treatment as well, but they were delicious enough that I can't complain. A beet salad ($14; chestnut puree, citrus, hazelnut oil, blue cheese, parsley, mint, px sherry) wasn't entirely as described (don't think I detected chestnut puree or hazelnut oil), but incorporated seasonal ingredients and was quite fabulous. We received chopped arugula greens, red beets, fresh oranges (I like that they didn't wimp out with the canned stuff), a dressing that was strongly laced with honey. I don't think the cheese was blue cheese -- perhaps feta? -- and I didn't taste any mint. (Fine by us; the littles still find this flavor difficult.) But based on what we've tried, I have faith that whatever preparation the kitchen turns out, one will be in good hands. There's real love for vegetables here and it comes through. I don't entirely remember what we had on prior visits, but do remember clams as being tiny, but sweet and fresh. We've tried a number of wines by the glass and found them all pretty pedestrian, but nothing is off putting. Inside, the space is quaint and attractive, evidently built from the bones of the former train station at this stop. Importantly, bathrooms have been fairly clean on our visits. Pleasant service. No water offered to the pup, but we make do just fine. We've added this little joint to our regular rotation. read more

I used to work at that place this building used to be so I have some personal investment in this location. I, somehow, have not yet made it to Locali but did, finally, order from them for delivery a few nights ago. I was really impressed by their menu, especially the vegetarian options. They have tons of salads and really knocked it out of the park with the impossible bolognese!!!! Huge brownie points for that. We touched on most corners of their menu with our order: GF ordered the broccoli rabe, the artichokes, and the mushroom pasta. I was losing my shit over the impossible bolognese but I have a condition where I am incapable of ordering anything other than pesto when it is on a menu. I was also very pleased that it comes with broccoli as well, throwing an extra vegetable in my diet for the day. There was a mini dispute over the pizza because I am always happy with a good old cheese or margherita bc GF said she was "bored" with that. I guess she's been living in NY too long... We considered the 3AM but there were 2 issues: 1. it comes with pepperoni and while I considered just asking for that to be omitted from the order, I was worried that would get lost in translation. Also, scanning the reviews on our delivery app, a few reviews literally said "this is the worst pizza I've ever had" lmao. Alright then. We went with the kale pizza instead. The food was delivered pretty quickly. I grazed the small plates first. The broccoli rabe, which I usually like, didn't do it for me. I'm not crazy about artichoke so left that alone. I cracked open the plastic lid on the pesto and knew immediately what I was in for. There is a schism in the pesto world and if you aren't aware, allow me to educate. Authentic pesto, originating from the northern Italian region of Genoa in the 16th century, is literally fucking garlic, basil, pine nuts, parm cheese, and olive oil. THAT'S IT. That's pesto. Now you can add other greens, other nuts, and other cheeses. I'm all for creativity and variety. My shit for brains, optimistic self actually thought the pesto was MADE of broccoli when I ordered it. Unfortunately, this place does the probably American-originated, lazy "pesto" which is pretty much throwing butter and cream in it. There was probably more cream than "pesto" in this. The broccoli wasn't vibrantly green and crisp. It was ok, I finished it over 2 meals. It is absolutely nothing I would order again. When describing her mushroom pasta, GF says, "they put like a stick of butter in this". The pizza. The outside, handle part of the crust was crisp and came out well. The floor of the pizza crust was soft and flimsy. You really had to make a nice fold to prevent everything from falling out onto the table. The kale was baked well and was the consistency of kale chips. They left a bunch of kale stems that I was unable to chew and had to pull out of my mouth. It was also more oily than necessary. Not a very pleasant experience as you can imagine. Sigh. Maybe it would be better in person? It was pretty disappointing for delivery. read more

We went here on a whim because we have tried everywhere else in the area. Our report - delicious. We enjoyed the fried calamari and the ricotta stuffed squash blossoms. We also ordered extremely affordable red wine that was super delicious. I am picky about my red wine and somehow they nailed what I described to them. We also enjoyed their pasta, which was a combination of penne à la vodka and meat sauce. Some Italian restaurants I go to, it seems like I can make the dish - this pasta was absolutely unique, and I could not have created it at home. When we told the owner we were getting married in Italy, he brought us all over a Prosecco toast on the house. This place is fantastic and strongly recommend. Locali is a decent fine Italian dining place with a relaxed ambience right next to the train station in Mt Kisco. The service is friendly & fast and early on a Tuesday it's also pretty quiet. Quality of the food is high and the portions are huge. The artichoke starter alone feeds three people! I particularly liked the Heritage Bolognese which had a very authentic Italian taste with rich creaminess cut through by the tomato sauce. read more

Only thing I was disappointed about was the other pizza we ordered. It tasted amazing but the crust is so thin we couldn't lift the pizza without the topping falling off. On our way to the market we hit the lottery...oh that's a different story... We dropped in to visit the new restaurant group's location here in The Mt Kisco train station, primarily to see Franco - one of our favorite bartenders and Chef William whose meatballs garnered second place in the most recent meatball throw down at Peter Pratts Inn (yours truly one of the judges at this blind tasting). This "quick" visit turned into a magnificent meal and an extended reunion with David - ex bartender extraordinaire from Madison Kitchen Larchmont, together with the two gents above... Great food - and yes of course we had the meatballs - plus our mains, plus dessert, plus some great vino...and got to spend time with people we really appreciate. Service was exceptional. The space is upbeat and vibrant - relaxing yet invigorating - and we didn't even get started on the menu. Work to do! read more

Pretty good! I think I followed Yelp reviews a little too much and not my taste because I ordered the top-reviewed pizzas here (Clam and Snake Oil) and kinda found them eh. The Clam pizza is delicious, with a creamy and sumptuous broth, but it's a little too heavy after the first slice. The Snake Oil would taste great if it also wasn't overloaded in the sriracha dressing which made it crazy spicy. The zucchini blossoms, however, are great! And their pizza dough is chewy and outstanding. Next time, I'll try one of their simpler pizzas and their butternut squash raviolis. read more

We decided to try different starters this time.. calamari and artichokes. Didn't disappoint us and we were satisfied. As usual, polite and excellent service despite the challenges due to Covid. I hope when it gets cold, they will cover the tent area with those plastic coverings and heat. I don't want to see them closing. For the entree we chose Branzino and eggplant parmigiana. I had heard good things about this restaurant and decided to have lunch. I ordered the calamari which was very good but nothing spectacular. I did, however, appreciate that it came with plenty of dipping sauce. Most restaurants serve small portion having to ask for more. Calamari was crispy and enjoyed but nothing that wowed me. I ordered the 3am personal pizza which was exceptionally tasty and had plenty of pepperoni on the pizza. My partner had the Strawberry Salad which was quite delicious. Greens were fresh and crisp. Ambience was very pleasant and I was impressed how the restaurant was converted from the old train station. I would definitely stop in for a cocktail or a beer after a train ride from the city. Service was good I had no complaints but I would have liked to see our server drop by the table little more often. Concluding, I would recommend Locali and I'm sure you would enjoy their selections. We just happened to find this on Uber Eats and decided to pick up. First of all, the outdoor dining area was super cute and I'd come back just for that. It's so cute for a romantic dinner or a girls night. I got back to the apartment and didn't even take pictures because we were hungry and thought it was just another Italian restaurant. But no.... This was the most amazing Italian take out dinner I've ever had. I can't imagine what it would be like to actually dine there! We got the virgin bread which is a MUST HAVE. At first I was kinda butt hurt that they charged for this but it was so good I don't even care. We got the calamari to start. Although I was hesitant because we always get calamari, but it was one of the best calamari dishes I've ever gotten! It was super crispy with fresh, chewy calamari. Not soggy at all! It came with a garlic aioli which paired perfectly. We shared the impossible bolognese and 3AM pizza. Honestly, it was so good I'm speechless. After reviewing previous reviews we decided to try this place. So glad that we did. The setting is unique and had wonderful character. Our waitress McKenna (sp) was another special part of our evening. She made great recommendations and absolutely tried in every way to make our evening enjoyable. My husbands cocktail was the best that he's had in a long time, the Montepucciano was perfect. The Zucchini flowers were delicious, Clams Oreganata were very delicious, the Margarita Pizza was the BEST pizza I have ever had. Even reheated the next day. The flavors in the Bolognese were incredible. For dessert, the warm Olive Oil cake with sorbet to was delicious. The Affogato was extra special. The amount of Gelato and Sorbetto served was incredible. All in all definitely a place to go back to. The only down side is the noise. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening at 6:00. It was loud but did not interfere with our great time and meal. We could have had outdoor seating, but then we would have missed the indoor ambience. read more

Stumbled upon this while looking for a place to eat for my Hubby's Birthday. Little to our surprise, it was a hidden gem! It's in the building of the Mt. Kisco Strain station. so at about 6:45 pm it was extremely busy. Not a big restaurant. Kind of reminds me of a train car! Nice decor. Service was excellent. The host told us it would be 5 mins and it was. We were seated, and greeted very fast. We started w some drinks, and the meat ball appetizer, and the 70 degree Burratta. The flavor of the food was great. We then had the Snake oil pizza! Which was also excellent! Pizza was nice and thin! Just like we like it. We will be back here.
