What a wonderful discovery! My husband and I were driving back from car shopping and we were both…read morehungry because we hadn't eaten all day, so I typed in "Steak" on Yelp and up popped Stone House Grill. I took a quick look at the ratings and the food photos and that was enough for us to set the GPS for the Stone House. Entering, we were greeted immediately and made to feel very welcome. The dining room was lively but we had a nice table and soon had water and bread, which came with a delicious sauce of some kind that had vegetables and cheese in it. It was so good they should sell jars of it! We ordered some shrimp cocktail to start (those were some giant shrimp, although it was only three and four would have been a nice even number) and then I had the rib eye for my main. It doesn't come with anything so I ordered fries on the side. That steak was outstanding! The flavor, the texture...everything was amazing. It came out on a sizzling skillet and it tasted as good as it looked. It was also so big that I took half of it home for lunch and if possible, it tasted even better the next day. I was very pleased. The fries were also exceptional and even though the serving was big, I ate them all. I couldn't help myself! Since I took half of my steak home, I decided there was room for dessert and the chocolate mousse didn't disappoint. The food was so good and the service was so warm and friendly, I definitely want to go back to Stone House Grill. If you're nearby, stop in for a meal. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

My chicken cutlet was not that good.Loaded with sauce hardly any meat. We went for lunch and I did not see anything special about this restaurant. And when it came to paying, they charge over three percent to use your credit card. And when I asked about it, she said every one does that, and I said, no, they don't. I deducted the three percent from the tip which I left in cash. I eat out at least 4 nights a week. And none of the restaurants I go to charge to use your credit card and I don't go to the ones that do. I won't be going back.

The restaurant reminded me of a trip to Ireland where we had stopped in a small food market and there was a pub in the back. But it was a good meal. The Cottage Pie was pretty good..again, I prefer the classics so I would rather a Shepherd's Pie ( with seasoned ground lamb and not beer ), but it was still a nice comfort meal. The decor is cute..I miss the dim light and warm / dark woods and colors that you expect in an Irish pub. I met the owner on the first visit and she is very nice and I wish her great luck..but the kids who work there have very little passion or personality unfortunately. This really is a nice little place and I hope it succeeds..but it has a few up hill issues..first is its smack in the center of many already establishment great restaurants the other big one is this: 75% of people who live up here moved from Southern Westchester or the Bronx..what does that mean? ..it means we all grew up on Rorys!!! And that is what we are seeking up here. Anyway, nice little place for a comfort meal if you are tired of Good Chinese or Italian. Enjoy!

We started with the shishito peppers topped with feta, and they were absolutely divine. The combination of flavors was incredible and made for a fantastic appetizer. For my meal, I ordered the Burrata Crunch Melt, and it was excellent. The bread was perfectly toasted--soft on the inside while still delivering an amazing crunch on the outside. Every bite was delicious. The weather was beautiful, so we chose to sit outside. The staff went above and beyond by putting up extra umbrellas to make sure our group was comfortable. Our server was a young woman who was incredibly friendly, personable, and attentive. She made the experience even more enjoyable with her warm and welcoming attitude. Between the delicious food, great service, and lovely outdoor atmosphere, Barnwood Grill was a highlight of our day. I would absolutely return if I'm ever in the area again! I am definitely interested in trying a cocktail.

The food is the star here: fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was spot-on, from the perfectly cooked pasta to the rich, balanced sauces that actually taste homemade (because they are). Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality punches way above what you'd expect for a local spot. If you're in Mahopac and want legit Italian food done right--this is the place. We decided to try Trattoria Sei because we are looking to have a graduation dinner for my daughter soon. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and sat down immediately. I was impressed that for a Tuesday evening there were quite a few people eating dinner there. We started with the complimentary focaccia bread and it was delicious (wish we had more lol) Our entrees consisted of Eggplant Parmigiana and Chicken Parmigiana Alla Vodka. Both entrees were incredible! We are an Italian/American family so we know what good sauce/gravy is and we are extremely picky but both sauces exceeded our expectations!! The environment was warm and welcoming and we never felt rushed. We will definitely be back! Next time we will make sure to leave room for dessert, as the dessert menu looked sooo good! If you find yourself in the area do yourself a favor and check it out. The other restaurants around might offer a little more space or nicer views BUT trust me when I tell you, the food won't come close to Trattoria Sei!
