The very first thing we noticed on entering, and even making a reservation, was how friendly and accommodating the staff was. Our service throughout the meal was excellent with both our server and the manager (or owner?) checking in consistently. I really liked the decor and music as well. The decor is minimalistic, but I really liked how clean everything felt. I asked about the music -- it was 80s and 90s rock like Journey and Elton John and it matched our tastes perfectly for the particular moment in time we were there. They said they use pandora and the music varies from night to night, but we were fans. The food is where things weren't quite up to 5 stars, which is why the rating. We started with an autumn (squash) soup and wedge salad. The soup was good or maybe even a little better than good, but not great. For me, the salad was the same way. It comes with candied bacon and that just doesn't fit the profile of bleu cheese and iceberg. I ended up eating the salad without the bacon and then having the bacon at the end as an "opening dessert." The salad was super fresh and the dressing was well done. And the bacon alone was delicious--just not great together for my palate. We went with a couple handmade pasta dishes as our mains and they were both good. Again, not quite great. I liked mine better than my wife's. That is sis's new favorite was well named to my mind. It was spicy, but not overly so and the tomato and broccoli added depth to the dish that was missing from my wife's pasta. I would 100% come back. If we do, I think we'd split a pasta and a main. Some of the fish dishes we saw go by looked fantastic. The one negative to me was an occasional whiff of marijuana. I'm totally fine with someone taking a break to calm themselves if that's what they need. I just don't want to smell that while I'm eating, especially in a restaurant that is otherwise very very nice. read more

Five stars. One of the few places I have reviewed where I have given a full five-star review. Restaurant itself is beautiful. Great lighting, ambiance and bar. Casual but in a fancy way. I'm glad I glowed up for the occasion. Service was phenomenal. Can't say enough. From the hostess (her first day-nice job!!) to our server, bartender and busser. Owner came over a few times to chat. Food. Omg just look at the pics. Delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, lamb was a tad overcooked but that was my friends' bad for asking for it medium. My salmon--perfection. I like my salmon on the medium-rare side wowsa. Loves every bite (and I do mean every bite 'cause I ate it all). Did I mention the creamed spinach? Best I have ever had. Anywhere. A smidge salty but still had to order a separate side of it as my friend was not sharing hers I nearly forgot the candied bacon. Enough said. Because it was, you guessed it, amazing. Hats off to the chef!! Drinks-my tolerance for a poorly made margarita is zero and the bartender, again-amazing. One of the best margaritas I have had in a restaurant. Cucumber martini, delicious. Only comment is that the bourbon was not cold enough. Then a bottle of Decoy, it was their 'house' wine-say what? You mean the house wine wasn't some obscure wine drastically over-priced? No Virginia, it was not. Dessert-tiramisu out of this world. The Italian ricotta was a little salty. Highly recommend. Make a reservation though. read more

This is both an upscale bar and a nice restaurant. You should clean up and dress up a bit. And the food was delicious. I tried their lobster ravioli, which used a lobster bisque as the sauce. Even the bisque was loaded with lobster! And so savory. The staff waited on us by committee and made sure we were well attended. The owner brought some of food to the table himself. There was live music, with a mellow folk/country theme and there was a likely crowd at the bar eating and drinking as well. read more

Celebrated a friends' birthday w/several girlfriends at My Cousin's restaurant in Mahopac. The food was delicious, as was the wine & dessert! HOWEVER, the best part, which could have been the worst part, was when the owner, Dave Gallo, came over to our table to ask who's car was in the first spot... which was mine. He said it had a flat... asked for my keys... and he changed the tire in no time. That's what I call ABOVE AND BEYOND. He didn't make it seem like an inconvenience... he just offered, did it, and it meant SOOO much to me. I told so many people about his kindness and above and beyond customer service, and all of those at our table witnessed it as well and have discussed how amazing Dave was! There are wonderful people & restaurants out there... and Dave and his restaurant cover BOTH! I will always remember your kindness! We'll be back for the food and the service! read more

Anthony, is our waiter? and he has a great attitude and he's awesome at his job. So my fiancé wanted a burger, but with no bun, they made it so beautiful believe it or not. Take a look at the photo. Does this look like a burger on a piece of lettuce fried onions wow they outdid themselves. I had the Kanté with broccoli and sweet sausage. It was so good. They gave me cheese to put on it, but I didn't put on it because it didn't need it. It was great the way it was. And what's funny is they ran out of bread. You know they give free bread at the table. They ran out of bread so they went next-door and got bread at the pizzeria just so that you still have your free bread ain't that amazing. Definitely going back real soon. read more

My hubby and I came here to celebrate our anniversary last week. The food and service are phenomenal. We started with a bottle of Malbec wine and shared the mussels and clams appetizer. The appetizer was the perfect sharing size. We used the toast that it came with and bread on the table to enjoy the rest of the sauce after we were done with the mussels and clams. So good!! Hubby ordered something off of the special menu (either short rib or shank), and I ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon, medium rare, with steamed broccoli. The steak was cooked perfectly and hubby said a bunch of times how tasty his entree was. I normally don't get dessert these days but since it was a special occasion, I made an exception. We ordered the bread banana pudding. Oh my goodness. It was so delicious. The staff were all friendly and helpful. When my steak came I realized k didn't ask for a sauce, so I asked another waiter for something because my waiter was waiting in another table. She brought me bbq sauce and steak sauce because she said both were delicious. And she was right!! We have found a new favorite spot to come for our special occasions. Delicious food and fantastic service during our first visit with a party of four. The space is open and bright and a nice bar lines the left hand side. The menu offers something for everyone, including the children. The Porterhouse for two came out sizzling and looking good to the table nearby. The seafood was fresh and came with mouthwatering "last drop of mopping up" sauce. My rigatoni carbonara was made in the traditional method - no cream - and was terrific. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Corkage was a modest $20 and the wine list among the most reasonably priced since I was wine director at a Westchester restaurant. Highly recommended! read more

We were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this restaurant, Friday June 21, 6:30 PM. My Cousin's offers a variety of choices with burger items as low as $18, to entrees as high as $75. The venue projects dim luminescence to provide a soothing atmosphere, and the hostess, server, busser, and manager offer friendly service. I ordered a draught beer, which came out, most importantly, with a thick foam atop. We opened with the Steakhouse Bacon (onions on the side), which was sinfully tasteful. My burger was cooked to perfection, and Julie's pasta and sauce was fresh. Next time, I'd like to try one of the steaks. You guys nailed it! read more

Excellent food, great service, very nice ambiance. Went here for a family dinner, and really enjoyed ourselves. They had live music - a great performer - but I do have to say, it did make having a conversation a bit difficult, as the restaurant isn't a big place, and so it did make talking (or hearing in my case) a bit challenging, but the performer was awesome. Back to the food - overall, the meal was delicious. Apps included calamari, and fried zucchini - both were fantastic! Meals around the table included the spicy sausage and broccoli rabe (rappini) which was so good; other dishes included the salmon (a tad overcooked, but still good) the Diablo Di Mare, New York Strip and Farro Salad. They're not literally 'my cousins', but after coming here I wish they were. Came to this place based off a recommendation, although I also checked reviews and such. Glad I did. We were given the choice of tap water or bottled. The bottled water choices were Acqua Panna or Pelligrino. Unless you're a big fan of the bottled, I'd recommend the tap as you'll save a little more. I ordered the French Onion soup while my companion ordered the shrimp cocktail - both were good. My intention before coming here was to order a burger, but my steak senses kept drawing me to the NY strip, so I gave in. The dish was good and the strip was generous. So many nice choices on the menu, that I made a few mental notes to come back and try them. I can't type it enough, but the staff - from the hostess to the wait staff - were friendly and welcoming. That certainly always goes a long way. The wait staff was very attentive. I made a reservation and you get both the email and text reminding you as well as offering you a chance to cancel/change the reservation, There is a decent sized parking lot, so no worries about finding parking unless it's very crowded. From what I understand, they opened in the last year or so, but they're off to a great start. Great option in the area and a place I'll be back to for sure. read more

This is a beautiful restaurant; clean, spacious and inviting. Service was impeccable and all staff chipped in when needed. The menu had a wide array of options. I went for dinner and got the meatball appetizer and fried calamari. I'm picky with my meatballs, but these were fantastic - the taste and consistency were on point. For dinner I had the rigatoni carbonara. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was a fantastic flavor combination. Dessert was the Italian cheesecake and cannoli dip. BEST EVER italian cheesecake! First off, do not be intimidated by the high end look of this spot..my wife and I stumbled in in Jeans and hoddies for lunch.. and did not feel out of place at all. We shared the shrimp cocktail ( was delicious ) and we both had the " sweet & saucy " burger ( a bacon cheese burger with melted Swiss and caramelized onions) absolutely yummy!! We enjoyed a nice bottle of white wine with our meal which was perfect. The staff is fantastic! With our waiter checking on us often and a manager ( maybe owner) also stopping by to check on us. The decor is clean and beautiful the bar area is gorgeous. We look forward to coming back for dinner and trying more of their diverse and tempting menu. Went to dinner here the other night, got the fried calamari and the grandma's cauliflower Pattie's they were both fresh and tasty. For dinner had the chicken Milanese it was alright I wish it had mozzarella balls in the salad instead if the dry parm shredded cheese. The cavatelli was a lot of pasta not enough of the other things like broccoli rabe, sausage. And the shrimp farfalle was probably the better of the three. It's been awhile since I've been inspired to leave a 5 star review somewhere. Or a review in general ... especially since Covid but this place is well worth the essay I'm about to write :) Stopped in with my mom for happy hour which they graciously begin at 3 & end at 7. My mom has been raving about this new spot on route 6 so although it was a 20 minute drive, they did NOT disappoint & I'll be returning very soon with friends, coworkers, etc... Let's start with how beautiful they've made this place since updating from Ramiro's very colorful decor. You get an immediate sense of peace, classy & elegant yet "chill vibes" all around. The bartender (should've asked her name) was fabulous & also graduated from YHS. She shared some of the family history & how family recipes went into making the food so yummy. I love that it's a family affair & as a former server who worked at a family owned restaurant for 8 years, I can see they are doing it right. Service was impeccable, cleanliness on point, food... omgggggg the food. Ok... We just had happy hour apps but the meatballs were out of this world. 3 delicious meatballs in the most yummy sauce (and I'm picky sauce eater spoiled with an Italian grandmas sauce growing up) The cauliflower fritters (if that's what they were called?) OH MY!!!!!! After those 2 apps we were stuffed but I can't wait to come back & try some entrees. Did I take pictures? No, I was too busy stuffing my face and drinking $4 glasses of wine but I'll try to remember next time! This is a family owned restaurant and as such provides friendly service and a cosy atmosphere. The food is outstanding especially the meatballs, French Onion soup, calamarie, and my favorite muscles and clams. Strip steak, pasta, lobster tails, Clasic Burger, juicy pork chops, rack of lamb and more are all delicious. Deserts are great as is the beautiful bar that serves craft cocktails and Guiness on tap. On Tuesday nights there is light live entertainment that embraces the restaurant's relaxed mood. Staff is very friendly and service was good. I ordered the rack of lamb which was perfect but the mashed potatoes and spinach were iced cold. I got an apology and an offer to take a hot one home but at this point I didn't want it. The dish was $42 and the least they could have done was buy me a drink or coffee.
