    Mozzarella Caprese

Don't know why my profile is saying Gino C, but my name is Tommy Spin My wife and I had a very rare free night this evening and wanted to go out to a restaurant that we've never been to before. We've done everything in Mahopac and Yorktown so we moved onto Somers. I won't lie, I get nervous, trying new places because I'm very hard to please. I'll admit I am a food snob. My experience tonight, was overall from beginning to end, one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We showed up a little early, but they sat us anyway, which was very nice of them. Waiter came up to us, introduced himself, took a drink order, Told us the specials dropped off some delicious bread and let us decide what we wanted. We started with the most delicious, fresh and ice cold Mozzarella Caprese, The dish looked beautiful and even more delicious than I could imagine. For our main course, my wife ordered the Zuppa di Pesce Fra Diavolo and I had the Vitello(Veal) Milanese that came with a side of roasted potatoes. We were so overwhelmed by how delicious our meals were, we stopped talking to each other, and just kept eating! I never saw my wife eat her entire meal before in my life and as far as my Veal, this is my go to dish everywhere I go, and I have to say, by far the best I've ever had! Cooked to perfection, generous portions, all the things you want in a fantastic dining experience! We finished the evening with a couple of desserts Also delicious. I have found my new place. We cannot wait to go back with our children and let them have their own experience at this top notch restaurant.

The food was delicious, and beautifully presented. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. It was a very nice experience.

grainy cappuccino, difficult glass to use too since it gets extremely hot while holding

cons: -served us a twist off bottle of wine [sutter home] (i guess it's my parties fault for ordering it, although the guest who ordered was confused when that bottle came out) & didn't serve it correctly ~ one of my guests reminded the server to open the bottle for us -we ordered cold antipasto, they served us the hot antipasto... -we arrived at 6:30 for our reservation, and our food wasn't served until 7:40 -i ordered a salad, came with stale croutons. seemed like it was sitting under a hot lamp. -my cappuccino had coffee grounds in it :/ -2 servers for a 17+ table dining room, meaning they were very busy (understaffed) since the dining room was full pros: -my guests said they enjoyed their meals -renovations coming soon, hopefully will update the decor and style of the restaurant -lady in leopard print dress did a good job of checking in with tables to give a little extra support to her team overall, didn't enjoy my experience but i know they are trying their best

You know the main dish is gonna be good when the calamari is tender and hot! The service is quick and courteous, very attentive. We split the Pasta alla Rudy and are trying to save room for one their desserts. I am certain they will not disappoint! If you haven't tried them, it is a must! We found them on a road trip up the eastern coast of the US. We might come back here on the way south, it is that good! Great for families or couples, celebrations and more.

Most likely of them litter the earth like wrappers from spent candy bars, a constant reminder of good times gone by. And then you get The Blazer. It is one of those places that shouldn't be there but it is and we are all the better for it. A low ceiling, low lights, jubilant conversation in the background all make for a snug setting. The bar is a seen out of Cheers with the conversation between business man and blue collar foreman flowing as quickly and easily as the beer from the tap. The drinks are cold and served quickly with a smile but it's the food that takes the crown. The menu is small but everything is cooked and presented perfectly. In all the years God has blessed me with life I have never had a better chicken wing. The Blazer traditional wing is served dry with limited spice but full flavored and from a temperature standpoint hotter than the devil's pitchfork. They were perfectly cooked, completely rendered, flavorful gifts of gastronomic joy. The burgers, cooked in a broiler style format, were fresh, perfectly cooked, delicious and of ample portion. The chicken fingers, which were each one a meal, served red hot, perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside and tender within. The chili cheese dog was everything it should be and the French fries, which are a traditional steak fry cut, were incredibly crunchy on the outside and soft and tender within. Every bar and pub owner and chef should come here. This is the superlative example of a simple menu, cooked perfectly and served quickly with a smile. It is obvious that the setting, service and menu gets them to come back again and again across generations from miles and miles around.

We came as we understood the wings were the best in Westchester County... After trying two varieties, and being on a perennial wing trail chase for the last four years... I find that title difficult to believe. Wings were meaty, cooked correctly, and came well appointed with blue cheese and celery. Plus, I'm a sucker for wing establishments that provide the wooden bowl for bones. I love that. Otherwise, I found the wings lightly sauced, and kind of dry... We tried the blazers traditional, which are fried, sauce, then refried... They needed one more dunk in sauce to be top-notch. Our second order was their teriyaki wings... much more palatable... But we're still lacking. And I'm not a huge fan of wings that are not sauced in a hot sauce base. The opportunity to add a side of wasabi sauce to any wings was a welcome addition... As we needed the moisture. We did not try any other menu items, but the pub food looked delicious... And our server was fantastic. I do look forward to going back and trying to order things slightly differently... I'll chalk this first experience up on me not really strategically placing my order or knowing how to maximize the potential of a really great place. I know next time will be better.

Despite that, our party of four was seated immediately, which was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was lively and loud because of the games, but not in a bad way. However, we were seated toward the back near the kids' area, and there were children screaming at the top of their lungs. Not the restaurant's fault at all, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're looking for a quieter experience -- this is clearly a very kid-friendly spot. We started with the fried pickles. They were tasty, but the portion was quite small and the presentation was pretty underwhelming. For my main, I ordered the French onion soup and boneless wings. The soup was great, but the wings were just okay -- very dry and lacking flavor. I ordered garlic parmesan, but could barely taste the sauce. The rest of my group ordered burgers and said they were pretty good, and everyone agreed the fries were excellent. They have a large beer selection, and the beer was cold, which is always a plus. They also have games like darts, which would be fun to come back and play. Overall, it's a decent place to watch a game if you're in the area. I won't rush back, but everything was pretty middle-of-the-road -- and to be fair, the place doesn't seem like it's trying to be anything more than that.

To find it, drive up to the top (third) level and it faces away from the street at the end (furthest from where you drive into the third row). It's a great neighborhood pub that happens to have some indoor virtual golf rooms. There's a lot of space and not so many tables in the front section, which get filled up on trivia night. The service was very friendly. I had the ribs special with fries. I was a bit surprised when it came out with only three ribs. They were also pretty small. On the good side, the meat fell off the bone. The rub, if there was one, was not evident. The sauce that came with it tasted like store-bought sauce. Maybe one of the Jack Daniels BBQs. It was thick and very sweet. Fries were standard shoestring that also felt like they were store bought, but they weren't greasy at all. I'll try the wings next time. If they are not on special, they are pretty expensive if you calculate the cost per wing. Decent beer selection. Guinness comes from the can and they use the small 12oz tulip glasses. They do have a small selection on tap. Prices are reasonable, even for the specials, although the serving size is only good enough for a snack for anyone bigger than a 6th grader. Burgers seemed much bigger and plentiful from what I could see. Trivia on Thursdays is fun, although it is corporate trivia, which is not as much fun as personally tailored trivia that you see in some other places. They have lots of numbers questions or facts that no one would ever know because they are too detailed and the host generally does not understand the answers or mispronounces them. Definitely worth a visit if you are local, but don't come hungry if you plan to order a special.

[Blowing on my nails.] The menu is a mix of American comfort food and gastropub classics, but with flair, and has a bit of everything to satisfy different palates. Our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs as we ordered 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 cocktails, and it was an enormous amount of food. The portions are definitely what you'd call hearty, and everything was very tasty. Thursdays are all day happy hour so we picked the fried calamari appetizer at the HH price (still a full and generous plate and didn't seem like a downsized version) which were tender and well-battered, as well as the hot honey wings which were meaty and substantial. The short rib parpadelle with housemade pasta and a perfectly medium-rare, well seasoned hanger steak with truffle fries completed our satisfying and belly-stuffing meal. The cocktails are serious as well - the presence of a drink with egg white is my personal litmus test for a bar that knows what it's doing, so the Thyme to Bloom special had my name on it. I'm salivating just looking at photos of dishes I didn't order, and am already plotting my return!
