I loved the ambiance of this Italian restaurant. I came here to celebrate a relatives birthday on a Sunday evening. It was very hot that day so we opted to sit inside. The service was impeccable! Very thorough. We all started with some gazpacho. Unfortunately it was not the best, it was overly salty and was basically tomato soup with some diced veggies in it. The bread on the table was very good though, especially the pesto that came with it. I then shared a mozzarella caprese salad with avocado. This wasn't bad, but the tomato didn't really have much flavor. For my main I went with the lemon sole. Portions here are very big! I could have definitely shared it. The pasta was cooked well and the fish was battered. Dessert was probably my favorite part of the meal! I went with a flourless chocolate torte that came with a scoop of gelato. It was warm and delicious! We also had a personal connection with the owner, Lucia, who was very sweet. She really cares about the restaurant and her guests.

Nice local spot for some Italian food! This is my go-to for take-away pizza orders. The gelato is also superb! Lucia's was a god-send during COVID, where pizza seemed to be a weekly order. My favorite is the bbq chicken and the classic Lucia's pizza. This location has tons of parking onsite and is ADA accessible. Inside, there is tons of room (it's a great place for large groups!), and a stunning authentic wood-fire oven (front and center). The service is reliable and quick, and the staff is very kind. My go-to is always take-away, but every once in a while I dine-in and it is always a treat. A Bedford must, for sure!

Ristorante Lucia is the only Italian restaurant in town, and it's well-loved! It has ample parking in the front, lots of space for large parties and private events, excellent homemade gelato, and a beautiful wood-fired pizza oven. Everything is fresh and made to order, and the service is quick. I normally order takeout from this restaurant (see pictures for my usual order). Lucia's also did an excellent job during Covid, when they offered consistent and clean takeout with complimentary ice cream with every order. Moreover, I heard the owner recently purchased the adjacent lot, so looks like they're planning on expanding! If you like Italian food and are in the neighborhood, you should definitely check this place out!

such a lovely restaurant, I went to a party in the cottage on the side and the staff were so nice, the space was beautiful, and the food was great. excellent place to host a party or event.

    Ristorante Lucia - beautifully landscaped!

The beautiful landscaping demonstrates the care and effort the owners have invested in this little gem. We had a lovely early dinner and sat outside in the wisteria arbor, and our waiter Jose could not have been nicer. All the staff was attentive and the food was excellent. There are many choices for food and budget from pizzas to full dinners. The beautifully landscaped outside seating area among the gardens and arbors delights the senses and creates a lovely atmosphere.

The pasta is exceptional. Casarecce, bomboloni to finish, acqua pazza that tastes like the sea. The Pillot Chassagne-Montrachet and Punta Crena Rossese were both excellent calls from a serious wine list. Service is warm, polished, and unfussy. Pricey, yes -- but you feel every dollar on the plate. A classic for a reason.

It's still a venue you can go to and know you're getting some of the finest food in the city. They served some delicious bread before the meal. I had a piece of focaccia and a piece of seeded bread. I enjoyed both with lots of olive oil! I ordered the Halibut, my partner ordered the Swordfish, and we shared the Pappardelle Granchio Reale, pasta with King Crab. The Halibut was seared perfectly, it was tender and flaky. However, the farroto-bean spread underneath the fish, with leeks , snow peas and a plethora of almonds accentuated the dish to a level that exceeded my expectations! It was one of the best halibut dishes I've had. My partner's Swordfish was cooked medium by request - it was tender, juicy and had a delicious fennel flavor with a chorizo vinaigrette. We shared the Pappardelle Granchio Reale, which was a pasta in garlic butter, with parsley and king crab on top. It was very tasty, and sharing it was perfect with the fish! We were quite full from dinner, but decided to order the Bombolini, which were little sugar powdered Beignets and a tiny cup of dark chocolate sauce. The doughnuts were flavorful but doughy and the 'dark chocolate' sauce was more of a caramel sugar sauce. Overall, Marea was the perfect venue for seeing old friends in the city. It's actually the perfect venue for any occasion!

I started the meal with a Montepulciano wine and was taken aback how wonderfully sweet it was. For my second drink of the evening, I tried their blue fizz gin drink which I also enjoyed and packed more of a punch being it was a liquor drink versus wine. My gf and I shared a mushroom bruschetta which was decent. If I could have a redo I probably would order something else but that is just due to me not loving a hard and toasted bread which yes, I am very aware is the nature of brushetta ; ) I ordered the grilled veal which came garnered with mushrooms and I subbed out the string beans for Brussel sprouts, the meal also came with roasted potatoes. The roasted potatoes were exceptional. Brussel sprouts needed some more seasoning, which was an easy fix, just pour a dabble of salt on them, ez pz. The veal could have used perhaps a dipping sauce or a sauce to enhance the flavor, but it was certainly delicious, I finished it all without fail. The gf went with the spaghetti and chicken parm dish. She stated she enjoyed it but was expecting more leading to the lead up to coming here. Now FYI, this is a monster piece of chicken, so you are getting good value for your buck as you should definitely have a number of leftovers. I was studying the light fixture on our table, and it looked like the owner who came over to me and gave me all the details on the beautiful piece and was very friendly. If you are celiac or need to eat gluten free, I think you will enjoy your dining experience here. As always people SYOY!!!

Our server was adequate, if not especially attentive or friendly. I understand that times get busy, but at this price point / expected caliber of restaurant, it was a bit of a letdown. Couple at the table next to ours, obviously on a date, got the pasta tasting and seemed nonplussed by it throughout. Ordered 2 Hendrick's martinis ($22) each, $4 more (ea.) than at the Salmagundi Club but less strong. We were truly baffled by the White Escarole Salad ($24) -- torn escarole hearts, toasted walnuts, Chianti vinegar, shaved torpedo onions, pecorino foglio di noce -- and the Olive Garden / Pizza Hut presentation. Bland, totally lacking in flavor. The portion was sizable, perhaps to its detriment. It was a Pizza Hut doppelgänger for sure. Sasso Chicken al Mattone ($40) -- sweet fennel sausage, braised escarole greens, spicy pepper condimento -- sausages were shaped into small, lumpy patties and BURNT. Chicken was slightly dry. Much prefer the chicken at FORGIONE. Mezzalune ($28) -- beet, smoked mozzarella, poppy seed butter -- 6 tiny dumplings. They resembled little gyoza but weren't pan-fried. The fillings were pretty tasty. Dessert was extremely underwhelming -- 4 lackluster options. Begrudgingly, we went with the Diplomatico ($18). I think they need to reboot their sweets menu and lower prices to about $14-16. Bill was $233 before tip. Tipped 14-15%. NOT RECOMMENDED.

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.
