Lasagna Lunch
Wilsy A.

Had a great work lunch in Greenwich Village this past Sunday! This is a fantastic spot for gluten-free dining, and my co-worker with celiac was so happy to have a worry-free meal. The staff were friendly, asked for any other allergies (if any), & made us feel comfortable. This establishment is on the smaller side but very lovely. The ambiance gives Italy all the way, felt fancy like, but also authentic. We started with warm bread served with olive oil, which was comforting, though I would've liked a bit more crunch. The fried calamari had a nice texture but could have used a little extra seasoning. These are just my personal opinions, but the real standout? The lasagna. Light, flavorful, and genuinely impressive for a gluten-free dish-it didn't feel like a compromise at all. To top it off, I tried their tiramisu and couldn't believe how light and airy it was! I love tiramisu, and I was so glad it wasn't heavy--it was the perfect way to end the meal. This meal has me excited to explore more gluten-free spots. Senza Gluten was a great find! I will be returning another time to try more as well as the missed out on cocktails, which looked delicious per their IG! Tip *** They only take AMEX or cash, atm on site, & downstairs towards the small restrooms.

Six of us came here for my birthday dinner. While only one of us is GF, we all really enjoyed our meals. My GF friend was SO happy to be able to eat all the things. Gio (sp?) our server was helpful and quick. This place was very busy and we had to wait a bit before our table was ready- about 30 mins after our scheduled reservation. They were very busy, obviously a need in the world. Quaint place with a solid menu for everyone who enjoys Italian. I can't say I liked the bread, but my spaghetti a la vongole was great. We also got calamari for the table and some burrata. The calamari was super light and tasty. We got some cannoli for dessert- not my fave and actually quite pricey for the size of what it was. Everything else was great. I'd recommend.

Rigatoni Funghi e Speck

I have no reason to eat gluten free, but I came here because I heard the food was good. I was not disappointed! The Rigatoni Funghi e Speck was delicious. It was the right amount of creamy and mushroomy. Plus the smoked prosciutto really brought it all together. The portion was also huge. I was so full at the end without even finishing it. My wife and I got the fried rice balls to share. They were creamy, cheesy, and had a nice crunch. The bourbon cocktail I ordered was really well balanced and I enjoyed sipping on it throughout dinner. Service was great. Very friendly and attentive staff. The space was nice too. It was a cozy spot that didn't feel cramped. Definitely felt like I was at an Italian restaurant from the decor. Overall, very great food. I recommend trying and even more for someone who needs a gluten free option.

Senza Gluten is absolutely incredible and I am eager to return here very soon. My fiancé and I came here on New Year's Eve with another couple, one of them has Celiac disease. As a vegetarian, I understand the excitement of finding a place that has an entire menu that you are able to order from without over-analyzing, and Senza Gluten does not disappoint. The space is quintessentially lower Manhattan in its hole-in-the-wall presentation and layout, but where other small spaces may make you feel rushed, we did not at all feel rushed during our evening here. The arancini and the cauliflower appetizer are genuinely outstanding. The cauliflower especially tasted like a variation on chicken parm - I have been thinking about it every day since visiting here. I got the Rigatoni Funghi without the speck, and I had more than half the plate to take home with me to save for later. I would have never guessed that this was gluten free pasta. There is a wide array of cocktail options - 3 of us got the strawberry margarita and 1 of us got Senza Garden, and they do NOT hold back on the strawberry infusion. So if you don't love strawberries, I wouldn't recommend these drinks lol but fortunately we all loved ours :) I highly recommend Senza Gluten for gluten-free peeps AND gluten lovers alike.

Ambience is cozy, rustic, and great for a date! Calamari is melt in your mouth, good. We found the sauce to be a bit bland- although the waiter said the marinara is their "spicy sauce with chili peppers." We detected no spice, it really just tasted like tomato sauce. But the calamari itself was great. The blueberry pancakes are so fluffy and delicious, delivered with a blueberry compote - almost like a cross between a pancake, soufflé and mochi! And lastly, the eggs with challah and spinach! Chefs kiss! Order it! With salmon as your protein. It is a wonderful fresh, healthy, and deeply satisfying meal. The eggs and spinach are cooked perfectly and the challah is nice. The complimentary bread is served warm and is worth the visit by itself!

The food is good. We tried the pear salad, risotto with funghi and pollo Milano. All tasty. However the restroom is located down a set of stairs n the bathrooms have a step too so not ideal for ada folks. Just wanted to make folks aware of that

Senza Gluten = Pasta Heaven If you've been mourning real Italian food since going gluten-free, run to Senza Gluten. This 100% gluten-free spot in Greenwich Village is the real deal--cozy, charming, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the gnocchi bolognese and nearly cried. Fluffy, perfectly cooked pillows in a rich, savory sauce that tasted like home. Add a warm GF bread basket (yes, really) and I was fully in my feelings. The kitchen takes cross-contamination seriously--separate prep areas, GF fryer, clear protocols--and the staff is kind, informed, and super allergy-aware. You walk in with peace of mind and leave full and happy. The vibe is rustic and welcoming, like a family dinner in the middle of Manhattan. It's the kind of place that makes you feel seen and spoiled. Heads-up: They only accept AMEX or cash. Delivery available via Grubhub, Seamless, and Uber Eats. Bottom line: Safe, flavorful, and soul-satisfying. This isn't just a meal--it's a full-circle moment for anyone who's ever had to say goodbye to gluten. Arancini Fried Rice Balls
Ryan L.

Absolutely hands-down one of the best Italian restaurants we ever been to. The best part.....it is 100% gluten-free. They also make a very mean Manhattan. The restaurant was clean and had a vantage look and vibe to it. The service was absolutely fantastic and friendly. The fried calamari was one of the best my wife and I ever had. Their fried rice balls were out of this world.

Quaint Italian restaurant.

This place turned up to be quite disappointing a very very expensive. Nothing tasted homemade and the pasta was the same as what I get Trader Joe's. The fact that this is a gluten only restaurant makes it quite a novelty, but the food was not that spectacular. The gnocchi had a strange consistency and the seafood pasta, although a generous portion, was bland. The cannolis were very hard. Overall place is cute and service is good but food is very average and did I mention expensive?

This restaurant has amazing sauces, great specials... and 100% gluten free The tables are right for this visiting boy from Wyoming, but the food makes it all worthwhile

Complimentary bread (already ate a few slices)
Danielle G.

Everything is completely gluten free and you wouldn't be able to tell by eating it. Although I eat gluten, I came here with a couple of people who have Celiac and we all really enjoyed the experience. The complimentary bread tasted better than some regular bread I have tried and they give you a nice Italian experience with personal plates of oil with pepper for the bread. My group got food ranging from pasta dishes to breaded meat and seafood and everything was amazing. The four of us were so full after eating as much as we could of the delicious meals so we all split one order of gelato for dessert. I highly recommend dinner here and will likely return with anyone that does not eat gluten. The only reason I might not return just on my own or with others that eat gluten is because it is a little expensive but the taste of the food and the experience is well worth the cost.

Very good for a completely gluten free Italian place. The arancini was good but very truffle heavy. The bread was not good, which is fine. The carbonara was pretty good but the sauce was a bit gloopy and seemed like it needed more liquid. The texture of the pasta itself was great though. Service also very good. Vibes are cozy.

Crispy Calamari

Finally made it to Senza Gluten! Lunch today was amazing. I had a Caesar salad and the fried calamari. Both were plated beautifully, and were both delicious! The service was excellent as well! Can't wait to go back and try it for dinner!

What are the ingredients of your pasta? Unfortunately, I've got so many allergies :-( including eggs, dairy, oats, and nuts. Thanks so much!

Hello! Most of our pasta is corn based. Please call us directly, and one of our team members would be happy to discuss which of our menu items are appropriate or can be modified to fit your specific needs. Thank you!

Is it true they only accept Amex or cash?

That was true when we went there a month ago.

Do you accept visa credit card?

When I visited in June, Senza Gluten accepted cash only - no credit cards.

Just wondering about the current Covid precautions! Are there effective outdoor heaters? Or should we be prepared with lots of layers?

Thank you for reaching out! We’ve recently made some changes to our space. Please call our restaurant directly between 5-9pm Wed-Sun, and our staff would be happy to explain our current precautions and setup.

Are there safe options for egg allergy as well?

Thank you for reaching out! We are happy to accommodate other food allergies and intolerances, including eggs. If you have multiple allergies, we urge you to call ahead and discuss your dietary needs with the chef directly. If you have airborne… Read more

Is there a dress code?

No, there is no specific dress code.

What type of pasta do they use? Do they make it?

I believe they made their own. All types. Not sure if it was corn. I can't answer really except to tell you it's the best gluten free pasta we've ever had.

Our family also has an oat, buckwheat, and rosemary allergy in addition to being gluten intollerant. Are there any dishes we should avoid on the menu?

I would call the restaurant directly. They were so helpful to us.

Is this place byob or do they have a bar?

Wine and beer. Not sure about liquor.

Do they have dairy free items? Or dairy substitutes?

Yes my daughter eats there and and she is dairy, free, gluten free and corn free. Just be sure to alert the server to any food allergies.

Is the pasta big enough for two people to split with no appetizer?

Hard to answer. How much do you eat? We always get an entree each with no app but get bread and tiramisu after. Always filling. If you are GF, lasagna is what we travel 2500 miles for!
