Today was my first time trying Impact Kitchen, and truthfully I've never heard of this spot. In a sea of slop bowls, this one stands out. It's sort of like a grab & go meets fine-dining. The workers were very friendly and walked me through the menu. I went with a power bowl that had the only protein option which was the Tuna Poke. They gave a generous portion which is great and it included a really yummy yuzu vinaigrette. But now for the bad part - they didn't include the avocado which I was sad about. There was also a decent amount of rice in the bowl that was hard as rock, probably old rice that was stuck to the bottom of the cooker. It would've been a solid bowl if two of the main ingredients were fresh or actually included. Not entirely sure if I'd come back, considering I waited close to 10 mins for an incomplete bowl. But hey at least they have a beautiful dining area + nice outdoor seating. read more

Impact Kitchen is located in a great neighborhood in Flatiron and very easy to find. Walking in, there is plenty of seating options and the space is very inviting. What I love about Impact Kitchen is that I know the quality of the food is going to be good for my health. The service was great and really helpful with different recommendations. Food wise, I decided to order a mix of different things like the Power Breakfast and the Braised Beef Burrito. Even though it's healthy, everything was still flavorful. The food came quick and I was checked on pretty frequently. The menu isn't fancy and it's a bit expensive, but I think for good healthy food that you can be safe about - Impact Kitchen is great. read more

I've been here twice, and only for coffee, but the vibe is perfect. I've interacted with three different employees and everyone is simply nice. It seems that the management treats the employees well. The food looks so good. I'll have it when I'm not just dropping in for coffee. They don't accept tips, which I hope and assume means the pay is pretty good for this industry. Picked up dinner from here yesterday - chicken caesar salad. It's pretty on par with the other high end fast casual spots in the area similar to Springbone or Pura Vida. Compared to Pura Vida's chicken caesar wrap, this was noticeably better. I usually end up picking chicken out of their wrap because the chicken is so weird looking, but I didn't need to remove a single piece from this salad. Comparing the salad to Springbone's chicken caesar - they tasted very similar, both seed oil free, however I find the Springbone chicken caesar to be VERY salty. This chicken caesar was salty, but nowhere near as salty as Springbone's. It was really good and randomly their to go utensils were sturdy which is not always the case in take out. Quality ingredients, but very unaccommodating to dietary restrictions. The smoothies are already blended so you cannot remove any ingredients, and they have very few items without added sugars or oils (even if it is avocado oil/honey), no lettuce (only kale/spinach/arugula), and odd combinations with a significant emphasis on beans. All options are smaller in size and higher in price than chains like sweetgreen, and the bowl combinations do not feel harmonious, but rather excessive (ex: I do not want a kale-based Mexican-bowl). Overall it really feels like it is trying to do a lot of things to create something conceptually interesting, which is great for a fine dining restaurant maybe, but not for a fast-casual or cafe restaurant which seeks to serve the consumer. Service was fast and friendly, at least. Ambiance was odd because there was their protein powder they were selling everywhere, as well as fitness equipment. I cannot underscore how disappointed I was in the size of my meal and smoothie though. It was not horrible, but also not enjoyable to eat. Great location, great concept. As someone with dietary restrictions who tries to eat healthy, I appreciate the range of the menu and the 100% gluten free, seed oil free assurance. I have been several times and have tried the chicken soup, grilled chicken sandwich, green goddess bowl, cinnamon bun donut, green smoothie, and green juice. I have liked and enjoyed everything I have ordered, but my favorite for sure has been the chicken Caesar wrap! I have been wanting a place near my place that had no seed oils, grass fed steak, bone broth, etc on the menu. I thought amazing this place is exactly what I wanted. However I have a few things to say. -The menu is insanely expensive for what you get. Nothing comes with protein in the bowls and if you do get anything the average is +$7 to an already $15 bowl. If I get a drink my meal is easily $29. Not to mention they recently reduced the amount of steak they give per portion. They haven't been open for more than a month and they are already cutting corners. -The food can sometimes be a miss in terms of flavor. I think some great items are the wraps and power bowls. Nothing else is really worth getting. And I've tried just about everything on the menu (spent around $200 already to find what I like) -Another thing is everything has coconut sugar in it. News flash coconut sugar spikes your blood sugar like regular sugar. Doesn't matter if it's refined or not. There are no low carb or keto options. Just "paleo" which uses tapioca starch, coconut sugar, oats, rice, etc. I think saying it's "paleo" or "no refined sugars" is healthwashing the menu. - Nothing is organic so keep that in mind. For that price tag I would want it to at least be organic produce/proteins. -The service is great tho. Everyone greets you with a smile and tbh that is rare in the area. The restaurant is really nice to sit in and has a great vibe. -"Gluten free" just means it's processed food with tapioca and rice flour. Which again isn't organic. I just think if a restaurant is built on "real clean ingredients" then it should have low carb / no sugar options and organic produce. I don't mind paying +$7 for grass fed steak but not for the portions they're dishing them out in now. Think they shot their own foot here doing that. It's a solid 2 stars for me. A message for the owners: nyc is a tough place to make it in. Cutting corners is not how you do it. Take a look at the menu and see why your flavors and prices are not worth coming back for. The food is flavorless, overpriced and customer service is subpar at best! I felt like the wait staff was condescending when I asked about the menu and certain ingredients. I've heard good things about this place but I'm highly disappointed in how I was treated and the food I ate. I'm feeling like I was treated like this because I'm black, assuming I'm not knowledgeable about healthy eating. The restaurant itself was not clean, floors had dried old food everywhere, and an obscene odor was coming from the kitchen area. I have been paleo for the last 6 years and have no such options out on Long Island. Came into the city for my monthly immunotherapy infusion and was excited as a friend told me about Impact kitchen. Unfortunately my infusion didn't go well; I was really sick, and it took much longer than usual. Once my stomach settled, we stopped there to pick up something for the way home. I just wanted the chicken wrap to be made plain and was told that wasn't possible. I'd have to take it exactly as written. I couldn't face anything with pickled onions, capers, or balsamic vinegar after retching for hours, so I took a chicken Caesar from the grab and go and my husband scraped everything but the chicken out for me. I just don't know how that makes any sense. I didn't ask for anything extra. And I didn't want any substitutions. I just wanted chicken in a wrap and nothing else because I needed something plain. My honest opinion is that the place is lovely, the staff was nice, and the concept is amazing - but if you can't get a sandwich or wrap made the way you'd like it, then I don't know what the point of a DF, GF, restaurant is if you have to take a wrap with feta when you don't like feta. I don't think we'll be back after next month's treatment, which is disappointing as I was looking forward to making it a regular thing on infusion day :( read more

Best healthy restaurant option out there! Amazing variety of nutritious options - I can't believe how many items they have on the menu. They are seed oil free, refined sugar free which is so hard to find. They also work with regenerative farms and serve Devocion coffee - they've got it all! The actual space is awesome, spacious, bright and a great place to post up and work for a few hours. Great option for dining in or takeout if you're on the go. Staff is so friendly and they actually serve your table with water/check in throughout your meal which is a refreshing change from other fast-casual concepts. This place is serving REAL food. I'm so thankful this place exists! A true gem and blessing for NYC. The food is healthy and fresh and SO delicious! It meets the varied dietary needs of my family, while having a variety of choices for all, which can usually feel like an insurmountable wish. And the service goes above and beyond expectation. Every worker there was kind and thoughtful and generous beyond expectation. It is counter service, but someone still came to check in on us at our table. When one of our orders wasn't placed accidentally, they immediately came to us to apologize and offered it free of charge and with a bakery item as well. We felt truly cared for - not at all rushed and had the time to enjoy one another and digest. The space was simple - warm and spacious, comfortable and relaxed, with gentle lighting at the table.
