Take Care is a Modern American bistro that opened in Manhattan, New York in April 2024. It was founded by the IGC Hospitality group. The team owns and operates a number of different restaurants and hotels throughout New York City, such as Park Avenue Tavern, Parker & Quinn, The Glass Ceiling, O'Toole's Way, and Winnie's Jazz Bar. Operating on the ground floor of the Shelburne Sonesta New York Hotel in Murray Hill, Take Care offers fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully prepared dishes designed to satisfy every craving. Highlights of the menu include their signature burgers & sandwiches, steakhouse entrees, pasta dishes, soups, salads, small plates, and breakfast & brunch options. The bar's wine and cocktail program is expertly curated to complement the food menu, offering a wide selection of wines and refreshing cocktails made with fresh, natural ingredients. My family and I recently visited Take Care while we were spending a long weekend in NYC. We had just visited the Empire State Building and were looking for a good spot to grab brunch nearby. Take Care came highly recommended on Yelp for their weekend brunch menu. We were seated at a large table in the back; we had some friends joining us too. For cocktails, I had a "Bloody Mary" (vodka, house mix) while my wife had a "Pineapple Mimosa". For food, I had the "Breakfast Burrito" (scrambled egg, tater tots, tomatillo salsa, chorizo, white beans), my wife had the "Avocado Toast" (grilled sourdough, sunflower seeds, watercress, pickled chilis, topped w/ an egg), our friend had the "Pancake Stack" (maple butter sauce, banana, blueberries), our older son and his friend both had the "I Don't Know" (pancakes, chocolate chips, maple syrup) and our younger son had the "I Don't Care" (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon). Everybody was very happy with all of their choices. I'm not sure what their lunch or dinner service is like, but I can tell you that Take Care is an excellent brunch spot! The staff were all friendly and helpful too. They certainly 'took care' of us. If you're looking for a great brunch spot in Midtown Manhattan then definitely check out Take Care!

Nice calm spot for a drink or bite, I didn't stay long but I'll definitely be back to try out the food.

Came by for brunch on a Saturday and had the chicken and waffles. It was good but the chicken could've definitely used a little salt to really bring out the flavor. Fried well and good portion though. The espresso martinis were delicious yet strong. Cute place located in the hotel (must go downstairs for the bathroom) with good service.

Popped into Take Care Bistro on Tuesday afternoon for a late lunch. Loved the tomato soup and fried chicken sandwich on pretzel bun! Better coffee all over the city- would not recommend it here. But i would certainly go here again if i am in the area!

We came down to the lobby for dinner after a long day of travel and were sat fairly quickly. Lighting was very dark and there were a decent amount of patrons so it was fairly busy. We ordered a couple of burgers with upgraded fries which we did not get. The bacon burger was ok but overcooked and over priced.

This has become "THE SPOT" for our book club meetings because of its cozy and inviting atmosphere! Our waiter Joel is always friendly and attentive, and the manager Fabio always takes care of my friends when we dine here. At this point, we each have a "favorite dish" from the menu which always gets ordered. I would recommend the margherita flatbread, caesar salad and the fries! Our meetings range from taking place on a random Tuesdays to Fridays after work hours, but no matter the date or time, we have always had a pleasant experience here. Def recommend :)

This restaurant is connected to a hotel. Came here with my friend we were not hotel guests. It was not crowded what so ever! There were four of us and all got different things to eat. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich, another one got an egg dish and the other friend got a burger. I got the omelette. We also all got the refreshing mint mocktail. I also got an iced latte that it looked very milky. We all enjoyed our meals. The waiter was ok. Nice spot to come if you want a meal before catching a train at Grand central or if you are a guest at the hotel. The Ambiance was fine music to me was a bit loud for not many people being there.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and got a seat immediately. We had ordered the chicken and waffle and the take care burger. Both were delicious! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! And the burger was delicious and cooked fl our liking! The service was great. Our waitress came by to check on us and ensure our coffees were filled as we needed them. It was not too noisy so we were able to carry our conversation! Overall a great place for brunch! Would definitely come back!

I am not sure how I missed this place...maybe it is relatively new. When we went it was quite empty and I was wondering why. It is quite a cute place with plenty of seating. They played 90s hits the whole time. I felt transported out of nyc for a little bit. The menu was pretty good and we went for the following: - Avocado toast- 4/5 - Turkish eggs- 5/5 - French toast- 5/5 - Latte- 3/5 The food was excellent. The latte is me just being picky about my coffee. I think overall this is a solid place. No wait time, great service and excellent food. Big thumbs up

A little pepper with the Caesar salad.

Wonderful service to match the food. Quiet and cozy atmosphere. Fun restaurant a few blocks from our hotel.

It definitely has the vibe of a speakeasy, especially with the jazz band playing. We went with the brunch special which is $35 for bottomless drinks with the purchase of an entree. I had the 3 Eggs Any Style and my wife had the Breakfast Flatbread. Those dishes as well as our friends were well made and delicious. We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

There is currently construction and scaffolding in front of the place, but you'll see signage where to go at the opening of the scaffolding. We walked in, past the bar and checked in. We were seated within 5 minutes. I ordered a bourbon old-fashioned and we ordered crab rangoon as a starter. There were a lot of them and the sweet chili sauce was great. For my entree, I ordered the vodka rigatoni and a side of buttered broccoli. The vodka rigatoni was really good - liked the flavor and a decent size of pasta. The broccoli was really good for some reason to me. Also tried the truffle mac and cheese which was incredibly rich and tasted great. As a dessert, we had the chocolate pie which was dense, rich, and topped with a huge dollop of whipped topping. I really liked the atmosphere of the place, loud roaring 20s style with jazz playing. Plus I kept finding myself checking out the mural on the wall. Try it for yourself - but worth the fight to get a table.

I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.
