We had a reservation for 7:30 p.m., but when we arrived around 7:45, we were offered a very small table. We asked if a larger one was available and ended up waiting until about 7:55 to be seated. During that time, we saw a couple of other parties get seated before us, so it seemed like there were larger tables available. We started with the butter service, which was excellent and came out quickly. The only downside was the bread-to-butter ratio, there wasn't nearly enough bread for the amount of butter served, so we had to order extra bread and still ended up with plenty of butter left over. The hanger steak took about 30 minutes to arrive. It was cooked perfectly and was definitely the highlight of the meal even with the wait. Our server also recommended the eggplant, which was flavorful, but much spicier than expected. I generally enjoy spicy food, but I found it a bit overpowering. Overall, the food was good, especially the steak, but the seating experience and the wait for our entrée kept this from being a five-star visit
Thanks to my friend, who lives across from Quality Bistro and is a regular, I've been lucky enough to experience this place multiple times--from lunch and brunch to even Thanksgiving dinner. The service is consistently excellent. It's one of those restaurants where you feel very well taken care of from start to finish, and the space itself has a lively, polished energy that makes every visit feel like an occasion. The food, for me, is a bit more mixed. There are a few standout touches I really enjoy, especially the butter service and the bagel service, which always feel fun and well done. The French onion soup was memorable the first time I had it, though I've since had an even better version elsewhere that raised the bar for me. Some dishes land better than others. The Caesar salad is fine but not particularly memorable, the pasta dishes are generally okay, and I didn't love the artichoke dish, which felt a bit tough and underwhelming. The mac and cheese also didn't quite hit for me and felt a bit heavy without much payoff. That said, I can absolutely see the appeal of this restaurant--especially the experience, the atmosphere, and the service. My friend particularly loves the fries, which seem to be a consistent favorite. For me, it's a place I enjoy when I'm invited and treated, especially for those little signature touches like the butter service. It feels very indulgent and fun, even if not every dish is a standout.
Decent French restaurant in midtown Manhattan, close to Central Park. We had our Friday night dinner here. I tried their popular spicy bird cocktail which looks is very attractive but the taste is not that much. French onion is extremely delicious. I would recommend that. We also ordered artichoke hearts which are kind of tough although the dipping sauce is amazing. Dover sole is a tad dry but still tasty and we loved mushrooms. Between the appetizer and entree, we felt that we got rushed by the waitress. She immediately apologized. A few minutes later, the Manager came and asked if everything is fine. Later they offered complimentary dessert or drinks, we only ordered one more drinks. The interior is very nice and well decorated.
This is the kind of restaurant experience that I adore. We came here for dinner before a concert at Carnegie Hall. We had a reservation and were seated within moments. The place was packed! The dinner items are so intriguing. Why did I love it so much? Because it was like art, but also delicious. I can highly recommend the tableside butter service. A giant cart with a mountain of butter is rolled to your area. In the most entertaining way, butter is scooped and prepared on a marble slab then served to you and yours with many little accoutrements. It was way too much for two people, but we loved every bite. The service was so good, the food fun and photogenic, and I loved all of the bites. I can't wait to come back.
Came here for Mother's Day as we wanted a nicer restaurant. Bonus that they weren't doing a prix fixe mark up, although that might be because their normal prices are quite high. The steak frites, Brussels sprouts, and Moroccan fried chicken, and Mac and cheese were fantastic. I saw people raving about the spicy Caesar but personally didn't get it--I thought it was fine. I thought the escargot were a bit bland. Le grand croissant is an amazingly decadent giant croissant filled with Nutella and accompanied with jam, pistachio, honey sides etc. it was great, but seemed like it should've been more a dessert option rather than an appetizer as it was extremely sweet. We booked this out for Mother's Day maybe two weeks in advance and there were decent times in the early afternoon, but I checked closer to the day and it was all booked out.
Great steak. The crab cake super delicious. Service spectacular. Well located in the city.
Quality Bistro was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We started with the kale salad (although it seemed more like spinach than kale), and it was still fresh and delicious. The tomato burrata was outstanding--definitely a must-order! I had the steak frites, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the French onion burger, and after trying a bite, I already know that's what I'll be ordering next time--it was incredible! The cocktails were made perfectly, and to finish, we shared the lemon ice cream cake. It was light, refreshing, and not overly sweet--the perfect ending to a great meal. Everything from the food to the drinks and exceptional service made this a wonderful dining experience. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!
Quality Bistro slaps on all fronts -- delicious branzino, addictive fries, and a dessert selection worth saving room for (the raspberry sorbet was the highlight for me but the green apple tart was delicious as well!). The mocktail arrived beautifully presented in a peacock drinkware, the staff was excellent, and the overall vibe was great. The one caveat: it's loud, so don't expect an intimate conversation.
This is definitely a busy restaurant during the lunch hour. Every seat was full. Exceptional service. The wait staff are all polite and helpful. Our server was very accommodating and made great recommendations. There was a bit of a hiccup with my meal. Plastic (I think) was left in my salad so it was sent back. Prior to noticing, I did taste the salmon which was well seasoned. Bread service is a must. Don't skip it
Service and interior of the quality bistro are great the server was knowledgeable about the menu, had recommendations and was spot on. The food came out super quickly and was very flavorful.
Came here for a company holiday dinner and overall the food was pretty decent. We were constraint to a prix fixe menu that was chosen ahead of time due to our large party, so the options were unfortunately slim for us. But can't really complain since it's on the company. After we all placed our orders, the server then came over with a cart for the Butter Service Garni. Definitely never had butter service like this before and it was probably the freshest butter I'll ever have in my life. For sides, the Jumbo Asparagus and Bistro Frites were ordered. Asparagus was essentially our greens dish, which was decent. The fries were very addicting. For appetizer, I started off with their French Onion Soup, which was delicious. I felt like I could have been satisfied with just this alone. For entree, I ordered the Pork Porterhouse, which had a roasted pineapple sauce on it for enhanced flavor. I found the pork to be dry, so the sauce was necessary. For dessert, I ordered the Espresso Creme Brulee, which was also great. They serve it in a cup as if you ordered an espresso shot after your meal, but in a dessert form. I also got to try the Green Apple Tart Tatin Sundae, which I have to say I enjoyed a lot more, especially if you'e able to get a spoon with both the french vanilla ice cream and the green apple sorbet. Overall a pretty good experience. Some of the courses had a wow factor while other did not meet expectation. Would not mind coming back again if the opportunity presented itself. Hopefully I can order from the full menu then.
Average bistro. Came here with friends to get their famous butter service. It was good, but the staff kept trying to take away the encoutrements. They ended up taking away a full plate of ham when we weren't paying attention. Steaks were good but nothing life changing. Our biggest complaint is that we ordered a bottle of wine. Instead of keeping it by our table, they took it away. At one point our wine tasted different from our original glass. We had to ask if it was the correct wine and when they came back they told us yes and that the bottle was finished. It didn't seem right. I understand space is an issue here since they jam pack any available space with a table. But there was enough room on our table to keep the wine. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. Don't sleep on their sorbet. It was really refreshing.
Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner at quality bistro. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a couples birthday dinner date night or just girlfriends hanging out upon entry. The hostess was very approachable. I was seated right away, even though my party wasn't fully complete. They still allow me to sit, which I really appreciate restaurants that do that. Now let's talk about food. I got the butter platter, which was a great experience. The bread was very good, it was so nice and whipped and soft very flavorful. The branzino was on point 10/10. The spicy Caesar salad 10/10. Grab a date and head over to Quality Bistro!
I have been to Quality Italian before but wanted to try Quality Bistro. Also fabulous. Had been to US Open all day so a seat at the bar for drink and light fare was the idea. The food was delicious...but not light. Ha ha! Their green snails with green herbs in the butter were fabulous...served with amazing crusty bread. The French Onion soup also A plus, but very rich with big bites of beef and so much cheese. Tried the Briny Martini w Cornichon. Interesting but too briny for me. Great wine list so I concluded w a California Chardonnay. Wonderful atmosphere and bartenders. The perfect ending to a great NYC day. read more

The star of this brunch Was the Butter board and French Onion Soup. Both item were over very overpriced however, I will pay it time and time again with how amazing it is. The French onion soup was rich but not overpowering. It has the perfect amount of cheese and not overwhelmed with salt. The butter board accompanied with onions and gherkins gave it the extra acidity for balance. read more
I know everyone gets the butter service. Presentation is impressive and butter is delicious but unless you have 6-8 people sharing this it's not really worth it, in my opinion. Seafood plateau was excellent and I would get this over the butter service. Besides the fresh seafood it was full of fresh vegetable. Not only visually impressive but great fun to dig through. True standout in the menu is the Moroccan fried chicken. OMG. Perfectly fried crispy. Great middle eastern seasoning. Spicy honey, chimichurri and yogurt sauce were perfect accompaniments. Lamb with cherries was also excellent. I would have given this place 5 stars without any hesitation except that service was not great. Not the wait staff's fault really. They were running around trying to help everyone. It's just that they don't have enough staff for the amount of people being served. That's the fault of management. So I took off a star for poor management. Otherwise very fun group dinner place with many dishes that are impressive to look at and tasty. read more

Celebrated new year eve here this year. It was my 2nd time here. Extremely cute decor of each room, except the room closed to the back they took us initially. Crowds were elegant and cute, but the back room was full of tourists/ loud families( maybe because it was a new year eve in midtown) Our server was able to get us to other room, because it was Too cold and loud. - Raw dishes were OK, not amazing. But their scallops and branzino were so good! Must order - Dessert trios fromagos was always the best ! Instagrammable - Not a fan of their cocktails. - Free champagnes for count down. Good for date night and celebration, good service but not your fine dinning service. read more
This place was so cutie and yum! We went for drinks and the bread & butter service and everything was so cute from the service to the display to our drinks. The rest of the menu looked great too, just didn't want to eat too much since we had dinner soon. Would def recommend. read more

We had THE BEST time here! Highly recommend! We had arrived a little on the earlier side for our reservation and the table wasn't ready yet so we went to the bar and a had a few drinks. They were very refreshing. There is a lot to look at with all the color and decorations and I really loved it. Now, unfortunately our our table continued to not be ready however, they apologized profusely and comped us some champagne! I understand when there is a table that is taking their time and it's not reeeeally their fault as they do not want to be rude. It was my birthday so when we finally were lead to our table, they gave me a card which I thought was such a nice touch. We were treated VERY well and the food, drinks and dessert were absolutely delicious. The service was incredible. The butter service was AWESOME! Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place because we really just had the best time and dining experience. read more
Dined at Quality Bistro on Thanksgiving. My wife went with non-traditional French fare, while I enjoyed a traditional turkey dinner. My wife boasted the French Onion Soup was the best she'd ever had, and the scallops, served in a rich creamy sauce, were delicious. My turkey dinner was very tasty, as was the stuffing and potatoes purée. Only complaint was that there was too little potatoes and that they were buried below both the meat and stuffing. The restaurant itself is magnificent, but it would have been nice to see some Christmas decorations during the holiday. Service was polite and attentive. Only issue was we waited more than 20 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations. I wonder if they would hold my table had I been so late. This is the seventh Quality Branded restaurant we've dined at and we continue to be impressed. Others include Smith & Wolinskey, Bad Roman, Twin Tails, Quality Meats, Quality Italian, Quality Eats. The food is soooo good. Would recommend coming here in a heart beat and I for sure would visit again. Quality bistro has a French style menu. The ambience and decor is very inviting. The food is also incredibly fresh and flavorful. The Caesar salad was perfect. The French onion soup was cooked spectacularly as the cheese to bread to onion ratio was perfect. I came here with a business partner for an after work dinner on Thursday. We were promptly seated at the smallest most tiny crunched table between two parties when we asked for a larger table. The wait staff kept bugging us to order every 5 minutes and rushed us. It felt very transactional. We ordered still water, four cocktails, a kale salad, french onion soup, and for the mains papardelle and cacio e Pepe pasta. The pasta came out cold and wasn't seasoned enough. The truffles didn't have any taste or flavor. Bland. Honestly for the price and ambience I feel like there are so many other cute places in NYC to frequent. The dessert was fabulous though! read more
We came here on a whim looking for a dinner spot! We made reservations for 7pm but then upon arrival, we were told it would be another 30+ minutes before we got seated. We ended up just sitting at the bar and ordering instead. It was packed for a Tuesday! We got a couple of appetizers to share - steak tartare and miso eggplant. The eggplant was a highlight. The steak frites were ok - fries were good and meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare but it was bigger than I usually prefer! The highlight of the dinner was definitely the dessert - the salted caramel gateau was delicious! read more
Went here on a whim and sat at the bar (would highly recommend a reservation bc it was packed in there) Nonetheless, then menu have a variety of options from drinks to meal choices. A little something for everyone. Drink (not pictured) EL DIABLO was delicious! Not like something I've had before 10/10 recommend. The caviar sliders 7/10 - it was underwhelming merely bc there wasn't enough caviar to taste but the "mayo" was delicious. Strip Steak Frites 9/10 - The fries delicious, I'm dreaming about them today lol The steak I asked for medium and it was a TRUE medium so be mindful. The cut of steak was thicker than I expected and a little fatter than I would've liked. Overall it was good and would recommend despite those things. What a lovely gem! Came here for a Sunday family dinner. Service was incredible. Our server Ciro was THE BEST! Even got some goodies on the house! Loved the caviar slider and such a great price for what you get. The French onion soup was the best I've ever had - thanks fellow yelpers for the recommendation! Had the Dover sole and it was delicate and delicious. Everything was fresh and the flavors were on point. This place has changed my view on French food. Have never been a fan because most French food is overly fatty and buttery. This was everything but! Floating island was an incredibly delicious treat to end a fabulous meal. Oh one last thing. The orange peel with my Americano was the icing on the cake. Thank you again to our beyond fabulous and patient server, Ciro. read more
Came here for the bread plate - stayed for the chocolate mousse ! Wow ! This bread platter is Luscious butter sprinkled with sea salt, shallots, and red pepper flakes and black pepper. Comes with toasted bread, French pickles, fresh radishes, a chorizo spread and eggplant spread. Enjoyed a tasty bib lettuce and avocado salad. Was pleasantly surprised it came with fresh grapefruit. It was light and a perfect amount. Also ordered the steak frites Chocolate mousse for an ending. Super Rich and delish ! Front hosts were so welcoming and bubbly. Waiter was nice and explained questions we had about the menu. Highly recommend ! Saw this place on instagram for the butter platter. Lived up to its expectations! read more
I loved the energy of this place and the indoor bar area which offers delicious cocktails. While the bar can get very crowded (biz people, locals, tourists), it's good people watching but you need to be patient bc the space can get testy. The food is pretty good as is the service. It's a good vibe yet a bit rushed. Worthwhile the visit to the bar and wouldn't necessarily come with a family. read more
Quality Bistro has some real highlights and a few misses. The service is outstanding, some of the best we have had in the city. The caviar slider is amazing and the Floating Island dessert is out of this world. The soups are very good and the crudos are pretty solid as well. The white asparagus and the salads were just okay and not very memorable. The bread board looks tempting but I would skip it since I have seen too many people regret ordering it. Overall a great spot with wonderful service and some standout dishes. Choose carefully and you will have an excellent meal. read more

The food was OK, that's why I gave it a star. Otherwise, it would be 0 stars based on my experience with the service. Although the restaurant came highly recommended, it was one of my worst dining experiences in NYC! I walked in and sat at the bar first, and the bartender did not speak one word to me for about 10 minutes. I then went up to the hostess and asked to be seated at the high top I booked. The hostess seated me near the loudest crowd while there were other quieter tables available where no one sat the entire time I was there. The crowd kept coming to my table to take chairs for their group. The waitress I had was very rude and intimidating. Her name was Dina T. according to my check. She was telling me what to not order since I was a party of one. She rushed me to get my order in and told me I had 2 minutes until she came back. She had an attitude about my request to split the check into food on one vs. alcohol on another. She basically could not get me to leave any sooner. I had a soup, an app, and a glass of wine... and was out of there ASAP. I wish this experience never happened and I could undo everything...could have taken my money and dined somewhere else where my business was actually wanted. SO MANY good restaurants in NYC, and I wasted my time on this one. It was my first and last visit. I do not recommend it based on the preferential treatment they provide to customers. read more
Took my visiting mother the day after Christmas for a special lunch and we were not disappointed. I am a huge fan of the Quality brand. These people know what they're doing. We had the scallops, salmon, Brussel sprouts, and the "to die for" sweet corn creme brûlée. The food was expertly prepared and tasted wonderful. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed at times but managed to still provide great service. Loved the ambiance. The restaurant was very busy Saturday afternoon. Despite having a 1 pm reservation, we still had to wait, so they did offer complimentary champagne. Some food items were worth the price, others not so much (e.g., the lobster salad). We went for a birthday celebration and the chocolate moose was complimentary. Will return! read more
The location was perfect for us as it was just around the corner from our hotel. I chose it as It offered the butter service at the table which I thought was unique. My husband loves good bread and butter lol It is a great sharing plate with ham and other condiments. My husband had the Branzino and I had Steak Frites. Fish was perfect. We shared my fries as you do get a lot for one serving. My steak was a little over seasoned for my taste , a little too much peppercorn. But cooked perfectly medium rare. We shared a Creme Brûlée but it was their version with a strong coffee flavor with a creme on the top. Not for us but thats ok. Server gave us a complimentary chocolate mousse and cream to make up for it. The service was excellent all the way through. You have your server plus other guys in jackets who wander around and help get you drinks and water where needed. We checked our coats when we came in. When you pick them up they are warm to the touch which was great as it was so cold outside. The rest rooms are down two flights of stairs. Dimly lit and real hand towels to dry yourself with. We reserved a table for 5pm and were sat promptly. They do ask if you are seeing a show so they can serve you quickly and get you out on time. We fortunately were not in a rush so took our time and enjoyed the whole ambience of the restaurant. The tables are pretty close together and you can hear your neighbors talking but it didn't spoil our evening at all. By the time we left the restaurant was full and had quite a buzz! Don't let the name put you off. Beautiful restaurant inside and out. Definitely recommend. read more

Are there menu variations available for kids? I see there is a chicken paillard...do they allow modifications for children?
This is NOT a restaurant that I would bring kids to - not at all. Look for a more kid-friendly restaurant further west towards 9th Avenue because this is not the place.
Can we dress casual?
Yes you can. I would dress nice casual or dressy. It's very nice there.
Are you able to make vegan food options?
There's a MaiTake mushroom & truffled leeks entree available for vegans!
Can I bring my own bottle of wine w a corkage fee? How much is the corkage fee if allowed?
