Nice spot for lunch meetings however, when busy service can lag. Overall, food was delicious. The salmon was flavorful and had a nice kick to it.

Second time dining with a friend who is big David Burke fan and it was restaurant week happy hour. I had a 6pm dinner. Bartender was generous with the my friend's wine portions. Service was overall great and accommodating. The GM was very hands on and doing whatever he can to keep the flow going. I ordered from the restaurant week menu and the portions were definitely smaller. Ambiance was modern with an open space kitchen and very welcoming. I started off with the Spring Time Bubbles which was refreshing and we were celebrating life. My friend ordered from the happy hour menu and she was very satisfied with her happy hour steak and roasted potatoes (substitute for the endless fries). I also ordered the slider stack with endless fries. Not only was the slider stack Instagram worthy but it tasted good, loved this new version of steak fries. However, the fries are best consumed fresh. I ate one slider and took the rest home. For the appetizer I ordered the Tomato Watermelon Gazpacho and it was pretty thick, not my favorite. For the entree, I ordered the crispy skin salmon which I enjoyed ate everythink off the plate. For dessert I ordered the Tiny Dancer Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake, which was good and rich enough to mask the alcohol after taste. I was too full to finish the dessert. I would definitely return for happy hour and pre-fixe dinner.

This place came recommended to me while I was visiting midtown so I stopped by for dinner. I really enjoyed the lobster risotto, it was really comforting. The bacon appetizer was pretty good too, everyone in my party liked pickles so we were fighting over it the cotton candy tree with cake pops was a cute dessert.

Stopped in for an express lunch - $30 for small bite of appetizer, main, and a cookie. Very busy, a lot of folks. The lobster dumplings were a small bite, good flavor. The buccatini and clams was so-so - not much flavor other than a little salt. And they gave a single cookie to me. Not exactly a stack of "cookies" like on the menu? The bolognese that my fellow diner had was a good one, though - so will aim for that next time. Next door they have a take-out area but according to folks in the building, it's not nearly as good as the sit-down restaurant's food.

Staying at the nearby Lexington hotel made it convenient to choose to dine here at Park Avenue kitchen. The food and beverage stood out to me but the service was lacking. I was not greeted upon entry and probably stood there for about a minute before anyone did acknowledge me. It's not as if they were that busy with a whole whopping 6 tables occupied. I also waited quite some time between being seated and my order being taken. I debated walking out. Glad I didn't because the food and cold glass of wine made up for it. If in the area I would dine at Park Avenue again. If you are in a rush it may not be the place for you.

We come here for work lunches sometimes and they always deliver! The food is done properly exactly what you would expect for a NYC sit down lunch spot. The Service is great with friendly staff and they are very attentive. The prices are pretty reasonable for midtown and you are definitely getting what you pay for here so if you're in the area with some coworkers for lunch it's a very reliable place to stop for a meal that isn't fast food and take out.

Chef David Burke in the house

This review is long overdue, as I dined here in October '24. I'm a huge fan of Chef David Burke and have dined in all of his Manhattan restaurants so of course, when I heard that he opened a casual dining spot and restaurant minutes from Midtown, I had to try. I chose to dine here to celebrate my birthday with another fellow foodie and David Burke fan and it's unanimous, we both agree that the dinner did not disappoint! The clothesline black pepper maple glazed bacon was excellent and it's served with a sprig of rosemary which they light on fire so you get that delicious smoky scent when dining. The bacon is also slightly charred at table side when served. The tomato soup au gratin was also a must try. It was unlike any other tomato soup I've had before - a hint of sweet, robust tomatoes and that basil just blended so nicely. It's cheesy but not overwhelming and silky finish, not heavy at all. For dinner, I had the sea scallops with butternut ravioli. Outstanding flavor profiles. It had exotic mushrooms, watercress pesto and pumpkin seeds. A really exquisite dish. Scallops were charred beautifully. My friend ordered the bison short ribs with Jack cheese polenta. That was another winning dish. For dessert, we had to order the classic cake pop tree. If you've ever been to a DB restaurant, it's always on the menu. Called the OG cake pop tree and indeed it's a spectacle of a dish. Several flavors of cake pops (think black and white cookie, chocolate toffee, cheesecake with graham cracker) served with cotton candy and bubble gum whipped cream. It's so much fun to eat! Served on a tree like stand... It's the best. Chef David Burke even made an appearance at dinner, waving to diners and greeting people. I was lucky to score a birthday card with his autograph!! It truly was the best evening. Our server, Terry T. was quick to take our orders and well versed with the menu. He was serving quite a number of tables at the same time so credit is due for his service. We started with the popularly reviewed appetizers: - tomato soup au gratin, absolutely a must try. This soup was so rich but not heavy. Robust in flavor and the "au gratin" really makes a difference. The cheese and fresh basil truly makes this a gem. - clothesline bacon, as in the name, each maple glazed bacon strip is served, hanging on a line and it's nicely seasoned with a hint of fresh, semi coarse black pepper. There's a sprig of Rosemary clipped on the end and it's set a flame when presented. I believe it's to give you that smoky, herb scent while enjoying that heavenly piece of bacon. When presented at the table, the server takes a lighter and heats up each slice of bacon once more before we dig in, this process heats up that maple glaze more. Such a great idea as it draws out the flavors and stays warm. The presentation along with a scissor for you to continue clipping away, makes this a unique dish. The OG Lollipop cake pop cheesecake tower Per my dining companion, the cotton candy which he's never had before was terribly sweet but surprisingly not terrible. Ha ha The cake pops were extremely sweet but oh so tasty!

Ambiance (5/5): The whole dining floor was bustling! Expect it to be fairly loud but not loud that you can't hear one another. Service (5/5): We were welcomed as soon as we arrived and seated immediately to our reservation time. My partner ordered a diet coke and when a second one came around, he gave it us anyways! I thought the service was very attentive throughout. Someone (perhaps management) also came to check in later in our meal. We came for the NYC Restaurant Week $60 dinner menu. Every single item that we ordered was a 5/5. Gruyere Popover: holy cow don't miss out on the bread option! They are so soft and tasted ravishing on its own but with butter was even better. The corn bread was a nice edition but I didn't have much of it. Clothesline Bacon: The presentation is superb with someone coming out with a blowtorch and getting the herby-charred flavors infused. The bacon was thick, juicy, and delicious. Salmon Bites: The rice was crispy and the flavors were all very integrated with the spicy salmon and the eel sauce. I loved it! Bison short ribs: Wow the meat just fell off the bone. It must have been slow-cooked in a delicious sauce because every bite was soaked in rich, umami flavor. The bed of corn polenta soaked up all the sauce. Although the roasted veggies seemed to be decorative, they too were charred with a unique flavor to them. Afoggato - perfect Crème brûlée - not too sweet, wonderful texture This is actually my second time at a David Burke restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the food there too. For anyone who likes it here, definitely check out David Burke Tavern on 62 in UES! I'm definitely dining here again and joined their rewards program!

    Roasted Chicken Breast

My husband and I had a late lunch before hopping onto a flight. The restaurant was literally one block from our hotel. The restaurant was pretty empty for a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant's interior is beautiful. It's very modern and bright. The tables are big and spaced out from one another. Our server was very nice and friendly. She was quick with our orders and quick with getting everything to our table. She checked in frequently and was responsive to our requests for more drinks, extra napkins, etc. The food was good. We ordered a Cesar salad and fries to share. I ordered the roasted chicken breast for my entree. Cesar salad was good, no complaints. My husband and I really enjoyed the chips. They were sliced into thin wedges. It was seasoned well but we wished it was a little crispier. For my roasted chicken breast, the skin was crispy and delicious. The chicken itself was cooked well but was bland. The vegetable accompaniment was good and added texture and flavor when paired with the chicken. We also ordered a sundae for dessert. Again, no complaints. The food was pricey but pretty standard for the location.

Love this place so much! Been going here lately for lunch and so much appreciate the atmosphere and people that works here. They are so helpful and nice. The menu option is categorized perfectly to ensure you don't get confused with what they have to offer. They have a salad/bowl bar, sandwiches, pizza and much more... I'm crazy about their chicken Parnassian sandwich. OMG! It's so delicious! It's literally cheesy and the chicken parmigiana is so darn tasty and juicy. The sizing portion is perfect for two people or if you are super hungry - then it's all yours. I also had their fried turkey sandwich that was so healthy yet super duper delicious. Haha! It goes good with a side of French fries! If you are in the area; I'd definitely recommend exploring this restaurant.

I loved brunch at Park Avenue Kitchen! I had the waffles (without the chicken) and they were absolutely amazing - perfectly crispy and delicious. The presentation was beautiful, and while the vibe leans a bit toward a hotel restaurant (or maybe a chic retirement spot on weekends), the food and service were both excellent. Plus, it's close by, so super convenient!

I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Hands down the best restaurant experience my wife and I have ever had…read more We wanted to treat ourselves for our anniversary, and I had recently watched their Bon Appétit behind-the-scenes video. Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.
