Let's start off with what I'd actually grade this place if Yelp allowed users to use decimals = 3.4/5 Dinner for 3. Ordered aged steak "for 3", roasted broccolini, chateau mashed potatoes and, for starters, a strip of their thick cut bacon. The bacon was dressed with a sauce and decked with slices of hot peppers. I liked the sauce. Love spice. However, we all thought that the sauce and the peppers took away from the enjoyment of the bacon. The steak: the menu does not list any item per person, yet, our server told us they absolutely do it. They presented us with a Tomahawk steak; not listed on their menu as "aged". At first glance, one of my friends and I smirked at each other and I said "more like steak for 3 'not so hungry people''. Portion size aside, the steak was very tender and it came with 4 sauces out of which we only really cared for the chimichurri (or whatever they call the green one). The chateau mash were good and the portion was great for the 3 of us. The broccolini was cooked just right, but the portion was a bit underwhelming. Our server was very nice, though I must be honest and say I absolutely hate it when they recite specials that are not on the menu for 2 mins straight... who could possibly remember what the first thing was by the time they get to the last item? ... but, that's not her fault. Experience wise, I'd not return to Del Frisco's for "aged" steak. Maybe to try some of their other items. One would expect plates that are sizzling hot and a steak that is still cooking when they bring it to your table... by the way, I noticed that some tables did NOT get food served on to the guests plates (only dropped off at the table) while some other table did get such service... something that's pretty standard at every steakhouse we have been to. read more

Absolutely a 5-star experience. You know a place is going to be good when even the bread they bring out in the beginning is on point. We started with the Wagyu meatballs and they were easily one of the best appetizers I've had. The steaks were cooked perfectly and paired with the mashed potatoes, everything was on point. A Birthday Dinner That Felt Like a Scene From a New York Movie We chose Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse for my birthday dinner because we wanted something special--not just a good meal, but a real New York moment. And the moment we walked in, I thought, yes... this is exactly where a birthday should happen. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The high ceilings, dramatic staircase, rich wood, elegant details, and huge dining room made everything feel grand and glamorous. It had the classic energy of an American steakhouse, but with a modern and luxurious New York style. Then I noticed the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows. Honestly, the glass was so perfectly clean that I almost forgot there was glass there at all. For a second, it felt like the entire city was simply open in front of us. I was strangely impressed by this because giant windows in a busy city are not always this spotless. But here, they were crystal clear, and the New York view became part of our dinner. We sat looking out at the city, ordered wine, and began my birthday celebration. Then, as if someone had carefully planned the scene, a sudden rain shower started outside. Perfect timing. There we were, sitting inside this beautiful restaurant, watching the rain fall over New York through the giant windows, drinking delicious wine, eating incredible food, and celebrating my birthday with my family. It felt less like dinner and more like a scene from a movie. The wine was wonderful, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The oysters were fresh and clean-tasting. The burrata was creamy, soft, and beautiful with the tomatoes. The warm bread arrived shiny with butter and was dangerously good--the kind of bread that makes you say, "I'm only having one," and then suddenly the basket is empty. The fish entrée was beautifully prepared, and the steak was exactly what I hoped for. It had a deeply seared, flavorful crust on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. This was not the kind of steak you quietly eat. This was the kind of steak that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. That silence was the review. Everything tasted carefully prepared, and the ingredients felt fresh and high quality. There was not one disappointing dish on the table. At the end of dinner, they brought out a lovely birthday dessert with strawberries, pink cream, a candle, and a "Happy Birthday" chocolate decoration. It was sweet, pretty, and the perfect ending to the evening. The beautiful interior, the sparkling wine, the city view, the sudden rain, the excellent food, and my family celebrating together made the entire night unforgettable. My wifey and I came by during the beginning of December on a last minute trip and this restaurant was on our list because of their "$25 girl dinner" that basically consisted of a salad, pasta, fries, and a drink..if you got protein, it cost a little more. Anyway, we waited around for a little while by the bar and quickly sat at a table as soon as it opened up. Our server was fantastic and the meal was good..it filled me up! I enjoyed the lobster bisque it was the right level of richness, the crab cake was good but more like a crab salad. Bread was warm and fluffy and soft. An old fashioned was ordered, so I thought it was confusing that it came with a smoke presentation, only when I got the bill did I realize that was provided was the version that was more than double the cost the Añejo Old Fashioned, which was disappointing and wished the waiter either brought the right version or asked for clarity. I got the short rib and I think that's where things started to take a turn. There were fatty pieces but most of all it was increasingly salty . I took it home and tried it the next day and still was just as salty. The filet according to my husband was perfectly cooked. Side dishes are always great at steakhouses, but the lobster Mac and cheese was underwhelming. It lacked that cheesy component especially when multiple cheeses are used and compared to most steakhouses was not great. Dessert we got the butter cake and the cheesecake. We both enjoyed the butter cake, it had a rich buttery caramel taste; the cheesecake was on the small side but also really had a fridge/freezer taste to it and tasted really generic. Tender, flavorful, with the tomato fondue and shaved Manchego making every bite melt-in-your-mouth delicious. For our main courses, my date ordered a porterhouse and I the surf and turf trio. I requested medium well for the surf and turf and rare for the porterhouse. Porterhouse came out perfect as per my date! You could practically see the blood still dripping. It was massive, beautifully charred on the outside, juicy and perfectly cooked. It had that rich, beefy flavor that only prime cuts deliver. (In his words) The surf and turf came in a little bit undercooked but our waiter Jesse immediately took it back in and had them cook it more to my liking. It came out great on the second try! We couldn't get enough of the delicious complimentary bread. It was warm, fresh, with that honey butter or whatever magic they put on it. We finished the whole basket and would have asked for more if we weren't already stuffed. I cannot rave about this restaurant enough! From start to finish, this dinner felt so special. Shirley was wonderful, she checked in on us throughout the meal and explained everything so well. The tomahawk was cooked to perfection, the whipped potatoes were incredibly fluffy and light, and the lobster mac and cheese was so creamy and delicious. But the star of the show was absolutely the desserts. The lemon cake and cheesecake completely blew my mind. The lemon cake was light, moist, and perfectly balanced, with a sweet icing that wasn't too thick or overwhelming. And the cheesecake literally melts in your mouth. Paired with the raspberry whipped cream and strawberry jam? 10/10. I cannot stop thinking about it! You can tell a lot of thought goes into making the dining experience feel special, and it definitely did for us.The only downside is that there's only one bathroom, and unfortunately, it wasn't very well kept. First time to this one, boy what a gorgeous space!! Being here at Thanksgiving was such a treat as decorations inside, outside and on the street of NYC were just spectacular! It was almost difficult to focus on the food because I was so mesmerized with the outdoor view. Definitely request an upstairs table with your must have reservation. My daughter who has not been was amazed with the space one had as a diner. I don't like touching elbows with folks ( have to learn to like it in this city) but not here. Plenty of room and the wonderful staff do not try to rush you out. She is already looking into having an event here due to everything we experienced. My main reason for coming is their crab cakes with lobster sauce. From the first time I had them, I was hooked. So hooked that i managed to wrangle the recipe from someone. (Not at this restaurant, but years ago) I am not above that. Second favorite is the sea bass with crab fried rice. Stellar every time. The rest of the party got the usual steaks and such. We all loved it. The sommelier was great although he just said, " great choice" with our decision because I have a Smartypants wino in the family. It has been so long since I last reviewed Del Frisco's, I don't eat red meat anymore ... but guess what, they have so many other great dishes, I didn't even miss it. I ordered the swordfish lunch special and it was so good! Dont sleep on the $39 lunch special because it is scrumptious and comes with so many great options. Chicken, fish, burgers, salad, soup... it's all good and plentiful. The restaurant also has a great view of 6th Avenue and all of the festivities going on outside, especially right now with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. It's right across from Radio City so it's the perfect place, before or after you see the Christmas show. I cant say enough about Del Frisco's. I've been to many of their locations across the country and this one is my #1. It never gets old. I ordered the prime rib ribeye and found the top portion overly salty, which was disappointing. The Chilean sea bass was good, but not memorable--though to be fair, seafood isn't really their specialty since it's a steakhouse. I took my husband here for his 30th birthday and was so very pleased with the experience. The restaurant was decorated spectacularly for Christmas. The table we were initially seated at was in a corner between another table and a wall which was so tight we could not fit, but the staff were quick to accommodate us upstairs at a different table! Felt lucky to have snagged a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. Arrived on time and was promptly seated. Waiter Gerard J. was friendly and welcoming. He helped us make the right selection of steak, and appetizer. We were seated with a nice view of the outside promenade. At first glance the dining room didn't seem large but on the trip to the restroom I learned that they can accommodate large groups and have private rooms as well. Restroom was clean and equipped. We ordered the crab cake, 12 oz. filet mignon and lamb chops, and the lemon cake. The crab cake was chocked full of delicious crab meat, not a lot of breading. The steak was flavorful and arrived hot. The double-bone lamb chop entree was enormous, and delicious. It was accompanied by parsnip puree and a mint-pistachio chimichurri, scrumptious!! For my pre-birthday dessert I chose the lemon cake and was delighted to see Gerard had also brought [ME ;) ] us the strawberry Hibiscus cheesecake and I was so happy he did!!! We had just made it to town, were hungry, and didn't want to shop around for food. My wife and I dined here the last time we were in town and loved our meal. So, dining hear again was a no brainer.. Del Frisco's it is. Our second time didn't disappoint either We ordered steaks, cocktails, appetizers and wine. The Bacon was excellent, smokey and delicious. The Octopus was disappointing. It was overcooked and chewy, so we had to send that one back. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Braised Angus Short Rib and was later informed that it was sold out, so she settled for the Filet Mignon, and I had the Bone-In Prime Ribeye. For our sides we had fries, broccolini and the Classic Caesar. Oh, and not to mention, that wonderful warm bread for the table. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, the sides were great, but on a side note... the side of fries was way more then we expected. I would say was enough for 5 people. The food was good , despite the fact that I wasn't given a 16oz NY strip cut of beef instead of the prime rib as requested. When I asked was there a mistake made I was told no. I know my steak and that wasn't prime rib. I was hungry so I ate it. My wife wasn't happy with her lamb chops and finished off my steak. I ate here the other day for a work lunch. We were put in a private room & the staff was amazing. There were about 12 of us & we ordered the bacon & meatballs (2 servings of each) as starters & it was plenty. For lunch I had the Caesar salad & steak & it was the perfect amount of food.
