My friends and I came here for a holiday dinner and it was above average. I attribute a lot of that to our amazing server....she was so engaging and fun. The food was fine as well. We started with cocktails, which were just okay. A lot of midtown steakhouses have seriously upped their cocktail game and I think the Palm is just average. For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail (pretty good), burrata (not the best) and the lobster mac and cheese (really good!). I had a sauteed shrimp for my main entree because when we came here, it was the fourth time in a week I'd eaten dinner at a restaurant and I couldn't have another steak. I liked my entree. For sides we had fries and sprouts, which were fine. Since there were a couple of birthdays in the group, we had some cake for dessert which was great. Overall, a solid experience with good food and terrific service rounding this up to a four star meal.

The service was great! We went for a business lunch and ordered the lunch prix fixe for $35. Not bad. You get a choice of appetizers, main course and a dessert. I ordered the cod and the lobster bisque. Soup was good but the cod had breadcrumbs which were too salty. I took the dessert to go. The restaurant was quiet and well laid out. There were a few other parties there having lunch.

I have been here many times and I've never been disappointed. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday because he is a fan of steak, we had tickets to a show, and he had never been. Shocking to me. Not shocking is it didn't disappoint. I told them ahead of time that it was his birthday and they had a lovely little sign on the table and they comped his dessert. The food not surprisingly was amazing. I had the boneless ribeye medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was tasty and tender. The roasted garlic squeezed on top was the perfect touch. Baked potato on the side is comfort food at its best . The surprise of the night was the most amazing Keylime pie/soufflé that I've ever had in my life. It was advertised as a pie, and it did have a little graham crust on the bottom, but it was this amazingly light almost like soufflé of Keylime, topped with this glorious melted meringue that was marshmallowy. It was just to die for. All in all, not surprisingly an amazing dinner

It is my birthday, and my girlfriend got me tickets to a play and knowing I like steak told me we were coming here for a true New York experience. That's exactly what I got, and I enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere of this restaurant is so much fun with all the celebrity pictures on the walls. You can feel the history. It has a great vibe. You wanna just walk around and look at all the walls. My girlfriend obviously told them it's my birthday because it was a little sign on the table when we got there that said happy birthday and some sprinkles on the table. I had a delicious sirloin steak. Mashed potatoes on the side were delicious. They were creamy and buttery. My steak not surprisingly of course was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I got the cream corn on the side and it was so delicious. I finished the whole thing by myself. They offered me a complementary dessert for my birthday, which was such a nice surprise. By that time we were so full we actually only ended up eating one. We split the key lime pie. When I tell you, it was more than generous for two of us. The crust was delicious. The key lime was like a mousse. And it had a layer of gooey melted meringue on top. It was truly the perfect end to a great dinner.

NYC STEAKHOUSE TOUR (5th Stop) . The Palm is a true New York classic and continues to deliver an outstanding dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with warm hospitality that makes you feel like family. The atmosphere is lively, with its iconic caricature-covered walls and old-school steakhouse charm that instantly transports you into a piece of NYC history. The food is exactly what you'd expect from a legendary steakhouse--top quality and perfectly prepared. The steaks are rich, flavorful, and cooked just right, while the seafood is equally impressive, especially the lobster, which is fresh and tender. Portions are generous, so come hungry. Service is impeccable--attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. The staff knows the menu inside and out and always has great recommendations, whether it's a cut of steak, or a side dish. Prices are on the higher side, but the experience, quality, and tradition you get at The Palm make it absolutely worth it. This is dining at one of NYC's most iconic restaurants. Highly recommended for special occasions or simply for anyone who wants to enjoy a quintessential New York steakhouse experience.

Despite a welcoming and charmingly designed interior The Palm falls a bit flat in terms of the actual food itself. While I appreciated that the portions (especially during Restaurant Week) were quite large (having received what was basically an entire plate full of calamari) I found most of the food to be over-salted or a bit too bland. I ordered the chicken parm while my partner ordered the filet and while the chicken was delicious and well cooked the accompanying pasta was quite bland with a very one-note marina sauce. The filet was also fine but served with a marginal portion of bland green beans which cheapened the meal. I will say though that service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We indicated to our waiter that we were in a bit of a rush and he was very attentive at making sure we were on our way within an hour to meet a deadline.

Cool ambiance and good service. The steak was good but a bit chewy unfortunately. The wedge salad was yummy. The creamed spinach was good but not the best. The key lime pie was very yummy. Not the best steak in the city but conveniently near the theater district.

We've been coming to The Palm for so many years. We always went to the Palm 2, they closed, the on to the Tribecca Palm, then they closed, so we've been coming to thr 50th street Palm. Welcome from NJ, and if you get a 7 reservation, you can get an easy parking space on 50th street, metered parking. We always come on my bday, December 30th isn't a great bday, but most restaurants are pretty empty, We always come in the summer to, for the special. It's a 4lb lobster for 139. You'd think that's a great deal, but by the time you upgrade the lobster with extra apps and drinks it's over 300. I've had and made lobster my whole life and I'm old, so to come to the Palm and have a great lobster and great service it's worth the money. On this occasion the service, Cassandra, was excellent, but the lobster not so good. I've never had a mushy lobster before. Now I'm going to have to break out the lobster pot and make it myself Palm management I'm coming back for my birthday to give you another try (and there's 6 of us) please don't disappoint us A loyal customer

One of my frequently visited steakhouses in NYC, The Palm is always a nice way to satisfy a lingering craving for some steak. My go-to is always the Ribeye, which is always tasty and juicy. Service is great and the ambiance inside is old school NYC. Be sure to get enough of the sides to pass around and share with all of your friends!

Nice location across from seeing WICKED on Broadway. We walked in and sat at the bar. Very expensive we spent $200 for 2 people. The food was good tho. I got the lemon drop drink, lobster ravioli, New York steak, and cheesecake. Nice ambiance for special occasion.

Ketel One dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Looks better than it tasted.

Pros: Res made on open table ready when we arrived (even though 15 minutes late-subway issues). Friendly host and server and busser. Lobster was 3 pounds shared with my friend. Was cooked and split beautifully and was flavorful and soft. Husband had ribeye that was delicious. The roasted garlic bulb that accompanied was amazing. Just right to spread on the steak. Friend's husband had surf and turf he loved. Wagyu filet and lobster tail. Both done just right. The grilled asparagus were delicious even if they didn't trim the tough ends enough. The hash browns are pretty good too. Burnt on the outside and soft on the inside. Tiramisu for dessert was a piece large enough for the 4 of us. Cons: creamed spinach was mostly cream. It was slightly gummy and salty. The ketel one dirty martinis were harsh and the blue cheese olives were bitter and gritty and wrong. I couldn't finish mine (crazy). We truly come here once every 2 years or so. Dinner was $720 with tip for the 4 of us. So it is pricey (but expected).

I did a excellent choice tonight. I ordered out and did a home delivery through Grubhub and had dinner at home watched a good movie on my New 75 inch Samsung TV. The lobster bisque soup was out of this world the best I've ever had, I recommend it. I had a lite appetite tonight so I ordered the Meatball with Penne with awesome dessert: cheesecake with butterscotch on the side‼ The Palm has really great food and they've been around for a long time.

This place is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a good lunch spot in midtown away from all the hustle and bustle this place is it. Went for lunch on a rainy Saturday after shopping . I had the $32 pre fixe lunch. Salad for the appetizer and catch of the day which was the branzino. My server was Jeffrey and he was very nice. The bread bowl was better than most places , filled me up so I took the dessert home which was cheesecake. Excellent meal deal, good quality and value . I'll be back !

We showed up and the place was buzzing with a line out the door. I checked in at the podium and hostess said table will be ready in 5 minutes. 2 minutes later, we the hostess to our table. Looking around everything was the old classic/stereotypical ideas of a what a great steakhouse should be and it did not disappoint. Sal was our waiter, he was friendly, professional and one look we could tell we were in the more than capable hands and nothing would be amiss. He told us about the specials, lunch or dinner menu options. The other wait staff worked like a team that has been together for years, checking on everyone in our section, delivering our orders, refilling our glasses, answering questions, bussing our table everyone with smooth and practiced motions. 2 Caesar salads, 1 8 oz filet w/baked potato, 1 surf and turf w/broccoli everything cooked and presented to perfection. For dessert, the legendary cheesecake with coffee and the baked Alaska. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. In this restaurant the waiters make everyone feel important and special and maybe it's a little pricey but it's New York and they have been around for a really long time so they knew what they are doing and are doing it GREAT.

The crab cake and stuffed shrimp were very good also but not quite as good as the steak. The ambiance of the whole vibe reminds me of an old movie, where important people from all walks of life go to have a good meal. Our servers where top notch also, If I had to nitpick, I would confess the Mac & Cheese was a little dry and lacked flavor. Also the fries were a little over done but I came for the stake and I left a happy man.

The bone-in ribeye steak was just ok (dry-aged, bone-in ribeye was tough and gristly with a lot of sinew in my cut - unexpected for a good cut of what should be well-marbled meat). Asparagus on the greasy side. Lavender creme brulée was good, though, really could taste the lavender hint over the creamy custard with just the right hint of a crunchy sugar melted on top. Overall, a good service experience, just a bit tough that my steak didn't meet expectations. My dining companion had a great grilled branzino, though - that looked amazing. Will have to try that next time or the bolognese (next table over had that, also smelled amazing)!
