I've been here 2 times and 2 out of five it was an amazing dining experience! I will advise making a reservation on OpenTable. Staff is great and do you want an amazing job listening to your every need. I always get the filet with a side of mashed potatoes, and my husband does the same with the side of creamed spinach. The maillard on the steak always has the perfect crust ratio. The sides were delicious and served à la cart. they have all these old caricatures of celebrities like Sinatra and mobsters that used to dine there,; which is nice ambience with a ton of history. Came here during restaurant week for the first time and I have to say the food and service was amazing !!! Our server Gavin was incredibly warm and welcoming and went ABOVEEE and beyond meeting our expectations, explaining the menu to us and was just extremely accommodating. I personally appreciated how the recommendations he gave and how personable he was ! The French 75 he recommended was TRULYY a 10/10 ( and probably my next go too ). And as far as the food the lobster bisque was incredibly tasty and my favorite was definitely the tiramisu. April 29th 2025. We came here as part of Hilton $99 dinner and show package for Hilton timeshare owners. Started off with a mixed green salad with the dressing already added. Far too much dressing added. Second course was a 6 oz filet mignon. Cook just right medium seared on the outside and medium cooked pink on the inside. Not too dry with sufficient juice to maintain taste. Side dishes included garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Not a spinach fan but this is creamed spinach was one of my favorites. Dessert was a large portion of tiramisu cake, about the size of a brick. So big that I I left about half of it uneaten. No doggy bag for leftovers as we were heading for the theater. The $99 dinner and show package was per person. Those who failed to show up for the timeshare upgrade presentation would be billed a full $299 price per person. read more

My friends and I came here for a holiday dinner and it was above average. I attribute a lot of that to our amazing server....she was so engaging and fun. The food was fine as well. We started with cocktails, which were just okay. A lot of midtown steakhouses have seriously upped their cocktail game and I think the Palm is just average. For appetizers, we had shrimp cocktail (pretty good), burrata (not the best) and the lobster mac and cheese (really good!). I had a sauteed shrimp for my main entree because when we came here, it was the fourth time in a week I'd eaten dinner at a restaurant and I couldn't have another steak. I liked my entree. For sides we had fries and sprouts, which were fine. Since there were a couple of birthdays in the group, we had some cake for dessert which was great. I have been here many times and I've never been disappointed. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday because he is a fan of steak, we had tickets to a show, and he had never been. Shocking to me. Not shocking is it didn't disappoint. I told them ahead of time that it was his birthday and they had a lovely little sign on the table and they comped his dessert. The food not surprisingly was amazing. I had the boneless ribeye medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. It was tasty and tender. The roasted garlic squeezed on top was the perfect touch. Baked potato on the side is comfort food at its best . The surprise of the night was the most amazing Keylime pie/soufflé that I've ever had in my life. It was advertised as a pie, and it did have a little graham crust on the bottom, but it was this amazingly light almost like soufflé of Keylime, topped with this glorious melted meringue that was marshmallowy. It is my birthday, and my girlfriend got me tickets to a play and knowing I like steak told me we were coming here for a true New York experience. That's exactly what I got, and I enjoyed it so much. The atmosphere of this restaurant is so much fun with all the celebrity pictures on the walls. You can feel the history. It has a great vibe. You wanna just walk around and look at all the walls. My girlfriend obviously told them it's my birthday because it was a little sign on the table when we got there that said happy birthday and some sprinkles on the table. I had a delicious sirloin steak. Mashed potatoes on the side were delicious. They were creamy and buttery. My steak not surprisingly of course was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I got the cream corn on the side and it was so delicious. I finished the whole thing by myself. They offered me a complementary dessert for my birthday, which was such a nice surprise. By that time we were so full we actually only ended up eating one. We split the key lime pie. When I tell you, it was more than generous for two of us. The crust was delicious. Despite a welcoming and charmingly designed interior The Palm falls a bit flat in terms of the actual food itself. While I appreciated that the portions (especially during Restaurant Week) were quite large (having received what was basically an entire plate full of calamari) I found most of the food to be over-salted or a bit too bland. I ordered the chicken parm while my partner ordered the filet and while the chicken was delicious and well cooked the accompanying pasta was quite bland with a very one-note marina sauce. The filet was also fine but served with a marginal portion of bland green beans which cheapened the meal. I will say though that service was prompt, efficient and friendly. We indicated to our waiter that we were in a bit of a rush and he was very attentive at making sure we were on our way within an hour to meet a deadline. read more

We've been coming to The Palm for so many years. We always went to the Palm 2, they closed, the on to the Tribecca Palm, then they closed, so we've been coming to thr 50th street Palm. Welcome from NJ, and if you get a 7 reservation, you can get an easy parking space on 50th street, metered parking. We always come on my bday, December 30th isn't a great bday, but most restaurants are pretty empty, We always come in the summer to, for the special. It's a 4lb lobster for 139. You'd think that's a great deal, but by the time you upgrade the lobster with extra apps and drinks it's over 300. I've had and made lobster my whole life and I'm old, so to come to the Palm and have a great lobster and great service it's worth the money. On this occasion the service, Cassandra, was excellent, but the lobster not so good. I've never had a mushy lobster before. I'm a regular at The Palm in Midtown Manhattan, and honestly, it never disappoints. The food is absolutely heavenly... I eat here multiple times a week and somehow never get tired of it! Dined here for a 50th anniversary. We had a private room for the evening. Very nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff. The menu was a choice of tuscan salmon, filet mignon, or a black truffle risotto. I wanted to try the chicken parmesana with linguini which I heard was excellent, but no, had to stick with the menu. The dinner began with tomato basil arancini and a marinated steak crostini as appetizers. Then a delicious ceasar salad. The main course was a filet mignon cooked to perfection accompanied with a half head of roasted garlic. You squeeze the delicious garlic over the meat. The sides were garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Dessert was tiramisu. Everything was delicious! But I still want to try the chicken parmesana with linguini! read more

This place is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a good lunch spot in midtown away from all the hustle and bustle this place is it. Went for lunch on a rainy Saturday after shopping . I had the $32 pre fixe lunch. Salad for the appetizer and catch of the day which was the branzino. My server was Jeffrey and he was very nice. I want to start off with the staff that served us-- they were great, amazing, and i tipped them--well beyond 20%--reflecting their exemplary service and really great ability to control what they could. That being said, this experience was not good. I don't see how--other than nostalgia and hope we don't remember eating--that i bring people back. You have been cutting corners since (and we know since when) and it finally showed. As a legacy "Palm"er. I grew up with the place, all of my first generation American experiences have been celebrated at Palm and I have tried to continue to bring people into this realm. I will very likely not come back and, probably more importantly to your Private Equity metrics, will refuse to continue to advance it via "word of mouth". Here is my roadmap of why this experience inspired me to write this memorandum which--please trust me--I have more important things to do than this: (1) Your quality of ingredient has degraded I've been going to Palm since I was a child. My father, a Norwegian who left the fjords and fisheries at 15 during immediately postwar, demanded/insisted/rabblerosed,etc. that any event that was worth doing, was worth doing at Palm. The reason being, *this* was the best place to get a "clean" lobster. What is a clean lobster? Not what I paid 100s of dollars on 3/20 to celebrate my mother's 80th. I am tasting the leftovers now (again, I want to commend how good the staff waited on me treated me), and it is bitter. We received two bitter lobsters. For a Friday service to have 2 bitter lobsters -- and I invite you to look up what that means-- is telling. I know the difference between Maine and "Nova Scotia." And, I am old enough to have been to Fulton AND get the ticket to Hunts Point. SO, without that, why are we even here? (2) You lost key experience WHY, am I--a 41 year old--trying to recreate/emulate/etc. the old school vibe for you? Where's the guy (who you probably bought out) or guys who will direct the TRADITIONAL, PART OF EXPERIENCE, BIB TYING MARTINI AT ALL HOURS MAKING LOBSTER CLAW BREAKING service that, I used to get. And, why this used to be a go-to. In summation, to the extent I will talk about this restaurat I will not reccomend it. To the extent I will return, I am unlikely to do so. And. If you have read this far, I mourn for this conclusion. Palm (particularly the "Too" location, but let's move on), has been a landmark for me. Particularly it's service and lobster. My parents loved bringing people there, and I also loved peopl bringing people there (any location). In sum, I will not recommend Palm. read more

Not a good experience. The "wedge salad" was not a traditional wedge as it was soaked in balsamic dressing instead of a blue cheese. The potatoes au gratin were just a big bowl of grease with barely any potatoes (see photo). The server was not attentive as when I didn't eat it he didn't even think to ask. After I paid the full bill (I wasn't looking for any discount) I told him the issues and he began to argue with me that the salad listed balsamic dressing. I found myself at The Palm for an educational dinner. Whenever I can make it work I like attending these because usually it's at a place that's new to me and I end up learning something new. This latest event brought me here to The Palm - I don't frequent Midtown West that often but it wasn't too far of a walk from my office so after work I strolled on over for some food and knowledge. The Palm is located in the thick of the Theater District - in fact, it's directly across the street from the Gershwin Theater where Wicked plays. As such, the restaurant is bustling and filled with (what I assume are) tourists. I didn't realize it at first but there are several Palm locations throughout the country, namely in major metropolitan areas. The dining room was fairly large with several private rooms; the decor was moderate, medium wood tones and white table cloths with noting too outstanding. There's a lot on the menu to appeal to the masses - apps of varying cuisines, soups, salads, Italian dishes, steaks, and sides. We started with a bunch of apps: fried calamari, some cold bar selections (shrimp cocktail and seared tuna), arancini, and crab cakes. The cold bar was my favorite of the apps - the shrimp were large and the tuna was great. The calamari and crab cakes were also good albeit standard. I wasn't a fan of the arancini - not a lot of flavor and tasted like they came from the freezer. For the salad course I had the Caesar - this was generously dressed without being too much and had good flavor. We had three choices for main: steak, chicken parm, and a vegetarian selection (whatever that meant). I usually opt for steak at these events but I wasn't feeling it that night so I opted for the chicken. The cutlet was large (it was likely two) and served with linguine on the side. It was as good as any other chicken parm I've had, so no complaints here. We were served "family style" desserts which is standard with educational dinners - likely multiple desserts served on one plate to share. Tonight it was zeppole with a variety of sauces and cannoli - both were fine. Service was great - everyone was attentive and overall this was one of the better educational dinners I've been to in a minute. Taking a step back and looking at the restaurant as a whole, I think it's a solid option for the pre or post theater crowd; there's something for everyone on the menu and they are very efficient. I'm not sure when I'll be back per se, but if I was seeing a show this would definitely be a place I would consider patronizing. read more

Open table seating in their bar area just to the left of the host stand (you don't need a reservation to sit at a table in the bar room). Well lit and themed caricatures paint every wall. It has been awhile since I've been to the Palm, but I won't let that happen again, because it's a wonderful dining experience. We enjoyed a caprese salad for appetizer, our main courses were Sicilian Salmon and the 22oz Bone-In Ribeye, with sides of garlic mashed potatoes and fresh grilled asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection. Their Tiramisu, which aside from the enormous portion, was delicious. The ambience, service and intimate quiet booths, gave us a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Palm, like Sardi's in the Theater District of NYC was the place to see the glitterati and be seen. This oldline restaurant has been around for years and is known for well-mixed cocktails and excellent plates for dinner as well as late-night repasts. My wife, a former Manhattanite suggested it to our friends with whom we are traveling and we all looked forward to the important part of the New York scene. Upon arrival and being seated, we ordered drinks. My wife, a Tanqueray Martini; Jeff and Always in Fashion with Woodruff Reserve Bourbon; Bambi, a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand; I ordered an Italian Pino Grigio. The Waiter, Paulo, came back and told Jeff that they couldn't make an "Old Fashion" as they didn't have the Woodruff bourbon and told Bambi that the restaurant was out of Sauvignon Blanc. She declined to order a replacement wine; however, Jeff asked if they could alter their standard menu cocktail by substituting another brand. The waiter returned and said they could not. We then ordered appetizers and mains. Two of us ordered the steakhouse wedge with blue cheese crumbles, no bacon, and oil & vinegar on the side. Mine came swimming in Ranch dressing and Jeff's with the same dressing on the side. Arlee's Palm Meatball was OK but was served cold and Bambi's Jumbo Lump Crab Cake was heavy on the breading and light on the crab. The evening went downhill from there. While Arlee's Sicilian Salmon was tasty, my sauteed shrimp were overcooked and tough. Bambi had ordered Linguine Aglio & Olio. The Matre D'/Manager came out and told us that the clams didn't look right and declined to make this dish; Bambi decided not to order anything. Jeff drank his dinner, ordering Courvoisier. To be blunt, the evening turned out to be a total mess and while the Manager apologized and comped the meal, my wife was totally embarrassed for highly recommending the Palm to our guests. She had been coming here for years while she was single and after our marriage and highly praised this restaurant/watering hole. While restaurants can have "a bad night," the Palm fell flat on its face, palms down. Under these circumstances, I cannot recommend this restaurant to you. read more
