Chorizo Breakfast Burrito

Yeeeeeep This is the spot. Great ingredients. The salsa was spectacular. Cheese. Perfect. Look at the melted strands stretching out to hug you.

Found this spot near Union Square opened late night on a weekday! I came at 9:30 pm with some friends on a Thursday, craving guacamole. It's a bit chaotic but fun and low-frills inside. They have a huge menu of food, and bill themselves as a health food spot. The service was friendly and the food came out quick, I got the Cinco de Mayo plate, which came with a soup (vegetarian chili), and it was incredibly filling, tasted fresh, and was super great value ($15). The chicken was flavorful, and there was a really delicious green salsa/hot sauce that came with it. The cashier also gave us a small carrot cake bite with our order. Glad I stumbled upon this spot and would definitely go back!

Nachos

Nice place in the West Village. Birria Tacos were great. Nachos were decent. Extremely friendly and helpful.

This place has been around since the 70's, with healthy eating as their philosophy. It still looks like the 70's and feels like the 70's - and it kinda smells like the 70's too. The longevity of this place says a lot. They don't need a fancy interior - it's actually quite basic, but the food and service is excellent. I come here mostly for the Mexican food, but they have a lot of options besides that - there's some good breakfast options, burgers, sandwiches, and wraps. My favorite here is the "Steve's Taco Special". (I don't know who Steve is, but he does have great taste.)

Ordered the Chicken Tinga Tacos (3 for $15.81) from here - liked how you got to choose either the corn/flour/whole wheat tortillas or a hard corn shell. You also get to choose your toppings - I chose the Everything (A [cilantro & onion] & B [lettuce, tomatoes and cotija powder cheese] with guacamole and sour cream). I also ordered the Guacamole & Chips ($5.31) and Salsa ($2.47). The tacos came stuffed with toppings how I like it! They did forget my addition of fresh jalapenos that I paid extra for however. The chicken tinga was a bit too wet, so it was spilling everywhere and thus the whole wheat tortilla was a bit soggy on the bottom. The chips were standard, but I was disappointed with the guac and salsa. The guacamole seemed exactly like the kind you get pre-packaged on a grocery shelf - Chipotle's guacamole is more fresh made with real avocados, and this seemed like processed guac. The salsa also tasted like ketchup, which was really odd to me. Not sure if I would ever order the guac and salsa again, but the tacos were okay.

Chicken and steamed veggies

This place is a go-to if you're looking for simple, healthy food and good value. We ordered the lean chicken with steamed veggies, egg white omelet with spinach and low fat mozzarella, and a vegan protein cookie. The food arrived hot and fresh even with delivery time. The portions are a good size. The omelet was packed with spinach and was perfectly good. The chicken has nice seasoning. We also got the yogurt sauce (yummy) and the spicy sauce (quite spicy). The cookie was funky in flavor and texture but that's a bit expected given that it was vegan protein. My only small complaint is that I feel like the little cup of sauce should be included and not cost extra. Will order again!

This place is also "Eva's Health" on Uber eats.... It's a mask but it was a good Southwest chicken wrap I suppose, needed a little more flavor and I'm not sure if there was any avocado, heck it needed more chicken too... okay, so it wasn't amazing but it was good. The green juice thang was fantastic. All of it was fresh and the "amari sauce" was bangin

Grilled chicken/brown rice/steamed veggies/hummus

This place has food, drinks and health supplements. I felt out of place because I'm not an athlete or a student (they sponsor several NYU sports teams). There is inside or outside dining. We choose indoors because it is air conditioned. I ordered their grilled chicken/brown rice/steamed veggies/hummus combo plate. Hubby had steak nachos. Soda or bottle water included with the meals. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious. Large portions. They gave free samples of their famous carrot cake.

Burrito

I ordered a burrito from here It was pretty good, the guacamole tasted a little old. Food got here fast It was pretty good although I had to order sour cream on the side because it doesn't come with the burrito which sucked.

Triple protein bowl
Annika G.

Really surprised by the high ratings both on Yelp and Google. Got their Triple Protein bowl for lunch to go. Was very disappointed. Everything was soggy and mushy, especially the rice. The presentation was really sad and unappealing. The protein was all so salty. Had to take a swig of water with each bite. Had to pay extra for corn and hot sauce?! So it came out to be almost $17 for a bowl of mush and chaos. The best parts? Sadly, the corn and beans. Would not recommend. If you like a lot of salt and mushy rice, then give it a go.

Chicken Burrito

I have never been anything less than thrilled with the various meals and soups I've ordered from Eva's. The chicken burrito is incredibly delicious and full of flavorful, fresh ingredients: chicken, rice, corn, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream. The chips and guacamole are excellent!! The tortilla chips have such a nice crunch to it and a light spice that are amazing dipped into the fresh guacamole. I also love their lentil soup and it's perfect if you're vegan too!! They offer so many options and the delivery is always incredibly quick and the orders always accurate. Eva's definitely deserves five stars hands down for the consistency of healthy and delicious food that they have been serving for many, many years, and I'll be a loyal customer for many, many years to come.

The food itself was bad -- like really bad. From start to finish everything missed the mark: The hummus was bland and tasted like someone forgot the spices. The doma (dolmas) were disappointing and didn't have the rich flavor they should. Even the baklava, which should be a sweet highlight, was dry, lackluster, and honestly not enjoyable. The Turkish coffee was so bitter it was almost undrinkable -- if you like bitter coffee, maybe it's your thing, but it wasn't what I expected. They market themselves as Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine, but what I ate didn't come close to what I'd consider good food in that category. My stomach was still growling afterward -- and not in a "I want more" way, but in a "why did I eat this?" way. The staff and service were fine and the atmosphere is pretty, but at the end of the day it's just not worth it when the food itself is so underwhelming. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or tasty Turkish/Middle Eastern food.

It was a little hard to hear and converse at times as it gets crowded, but the food was delicious and there are really unique items on the menu. Food: The duck shawarma was one of our favorites! The lamb and scallops were also flavorful and tender. The dips were delicious with the pita, but I wish the serving size for the dips were bigger. The fries were great - well seasoned! Also recommend the milky pudding, it was a nice refreshing way to end the dinner. Service: Our server was super helpful in letting us know what items are more shareable and his suggestions for cocktails. Definitely try some of the arak based cocktails. There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

I got to try a variety of different items, inducing: ayran, chicken Adana sandwich on home bread, Turkish tea, and rice pudding. The ayran was probably the best I've ever had in my life. It was so refreshing, the perfect amount of salt, so good. And it's homemade. I would highly recommend you try this drink regardless of what you order, it's that good. The chicken Adana sandwich was also quite nice. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned in a good portion with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes as well. The bread was great. It's served with two wonderful, flavorful sauces: hot sauce and yogurt sauce (I much prefer the latter). Portion is incredible for the price. Then, I was initially interested in trying the fig pudding for dessert but they were out of it, so I went with the rice pudding. Again, a huge portion that is well worth the price. So creamy, so good. And, they brought out 2 Turkish teas for free to make up for not having the fig! The people are just very nice here, and the tea was also lovely, piping hot and just perfect. It's a pretty small restaurant but doesn't get crowded early on. They were playing some Turkish music while I ate, and I really enjoyed it.
