Great local spot I just found out about thru Yelp and will be back. It's authentic n the flavors are spot on. I just got back from Paris 2 weeks ago n can attest to this. The escargot, steak frites, moules frites and trout. All good. Dessert profiteroles n creme brulee ofc!!!

French Onion Soup and Bistrot Steak Frites

Cute little French bistro! Loved the atmosphere in there for a date night. I'm on a quest to find the best French onion soup in NYC and it's been hard to find because after going to Paris, it's just not the same here. However, Le Parisien did a pretty good job! The cheese was perfect but the broth was a little sweet for my liking. However, what blew my mind was the steak frites. It was so perfectly cooked and the flavor profile, amazing!

Food was amazing, service was on point, ambiance was adorable! Was visiting a friend and she showed me the cutest hole in the wall. I got the steak Fritz and it was insane. So tender and juicy, I'd say about a 8 ounce portion with a salad and mountain of fries. For four people our bill was around $230 before tip and we ordered 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, AND a whole bottle of wine! Would have loved to try desserts but the portions were so generous we were too stuffed. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the city!

I had an amazing experience at Le Parisian! The restaurant is small & cozy; I think it's a classic Parisian vibe, kinda giving you a slice of France. This is actually my sixth time visiting this restaurant, and I've pretty much tried almost everything on the menu. One of the things I've been getting consistently was the Bordeaux red wine, which is a good alternative to Cabernet for my red wine drinkers. It's very rich and smooth, and pairs really well with the steak frites, which is what I ordered for this visit! The steak is always cooked very well & tender, and the frites were crisp and golden. It's definitely a dish that's simple yet elevated, exactly what you'd expect from an authentic French bistro! One thing I noticed about the steak frites on this visit is that the sauce seemed slightly different. I'm assuming the ingredients or the sauce changed, but it had more onion-like shavings on top and the sauce was a sweeter flavor. Nevertheless, it was still absolutely delicious!! I really recommend making a reservation in advanced since there is limited seating. Definitely a place that I go frequently as a local and recommend to anyone else!

I had a nice dinner with friends at this neighborhood joint. The place is small, tables are a bit tight but they have outdoor seatings. The food was pretty good and service was great. We started off with Mussels Marinieres, Escargot, and White asparagus which was tasty. The Pork Chop special of the night was a bit dry, Duck confit and Steak Frites were flavorful and juicy.

it's the perfect, little cozy hideaway. it's almost like you've teleported. the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is perfect for a solo treat, date night or girls' dinner. service was incredibly attentive and gave great recommendations. I'll absolutely be back for more.

Pretty solid steak frites and decently priced. A bit small, tables felt crowded and like you were interrupting everyone's conversation. Service definitely left something to be desired, but wasn't a huge damper on the evening. Not sure if I'd go back, but the steak was pretty worth it.

Trout and Bistrot Steak Frites

The food is French, the service is also French. We had steak and trout plus sangria. It was $100 flat with tax and tips. The atmosphere is relaxing despite their tight interior space. Would like to return.

Food was pretty good but the space was very tight . Additionally there was very littler interaction with the wait staff because they made you order your entire meal, including dessert all at once. I ordered the steak frites because there was at least one on every other table. It was clearly what people come there for and it was delicious. Steak was perfectly cooked, fries- well seasoned, and it was a huge portion. Despite this, I was underwhelmed by everything else. If my plans fell through in the area and I was hungry, I'd go again. However, I would not make this my main destination

Profiteroles

Beautifully presented and a delicious special. Branzino over butternut squash and broccoli rabe. Great service too. Finished with excellent profiteroles.

Steak and fries, floating island, and great wine

Let me tell you about my favorite little spot in midtown, six years after leaving NYC, I still think about this spot. It is also the first place that pops into my mind when someone asks me to recommend a restaurant in Manhattan. Why? Well, I ask myself the same question. It isn't the fanciest spot - but oh is it the most authentic. It is a small piece of Paris in Midtown, and what a cute piece of Paris it is. The owners seem to be French, the wine is delicious, the service is hospitable. I actually like that the menu is limited, because everything they make is delicious, my favorites include the steak frites, mussels, and escargot.

Love this place. Amelie is great. My first choice for French cuisine when in NY. Great, intimate bistro.

What is the sound level like at dinnertime? Am dining with an old friend and we want to talk.

It isn't very loud. The area outside isn't very busy so noise has never been an issue for us and we've been a few times now.

Is it good for a group, 8 to 14 people?

No way. It's a tiny restaurant

I got the market salad with grilled chicken which was very filling and packed with flavor. The grilled chicken was an add on so cost a little bit more than $25 but still an amazing deal. 10/10 recommend!

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

After a weekend of rich, indulgent meals, we were looking for something a little more…read morestraightforward and comforting. We also wanted to try a classic pastrami on rye--but without committing to the long lines at Katz's Delicatessen. Sarge's ended up being the perfect alternative, just a quick five-minute walk from our hotel. We arrived around 5:00 pm on a Sunday and were seated right away, which already felt like a win. The meal started with coleslaw and both a half sour and full sour pickle--such a classic deli touch, and a great way to kick things off. I ordered the half sandwich with matzah ball soup, and the portion sizes were no joke. The soup alone could have been a full meal: a huge bowl with an equally massive matzah ball. The broth was warm and soothing, and the matzah ball was incredibly light with a perfect texture. The half pastrami on rye was just as impressive. Even "half" was stacked high with flavorful, tender pastrami. Adding a bit of mustard from the table brought everything together--it was simple, classic, and exactly what I was hoping for. Not only was it one of the more reasonably priced meals of the trip, but it was also genuinely satisfying. If you're looking for a no-fuss, traditional deli experience without the wait, Sarge's is a great option.

Service was so bad she deserved no tip whatsoever. On top of that, the food was overpriced and nowhere near worth the attitude.
