Upstairs a standard restaurant, downstairs you have a bar & private event space! While the upstairs folks will come down for the bathrooms, it's generally a nice, slightly darker space with a bar and open area + seating or a tasting table that you can have them set up (olive, tapas, and small bites are good - the focaccia in particular was savory and salty and delicious). Not the best for a lecture/talk (music tends to go over the speaker), so better for group mixers.

Came here as a party of 8 for 2 birthdays on a Thursday night! When we first walked in, it took us 15-20 minutes to get seated (reservation was at 8:30, seated at 8:50). We had also brought a cake, and they let us know that there would be a cake fee which is typical at restaurants in NYC which was fine. However, given that the restaurant is more aligned with "up-scale" service, I would expected the team to take our cake to the back, especially if we were going to pay a cake fee. Instead, we held it for another 20 minutes while it was melting in our hands, lol. Besides the hostess/check in service, the actual dining service was fantastic. The food was amazing as well. Our server walked us through the menu and his recommendations and they were all hits. We would highly recommend the black garlic hummus, truffle pasta, and lemon pasta. I would likely come back with a smaller group in the future.

Leonetta is a Mediterranean restaurant in Murray Hill with a beautiful, refined space and an upscale vibe. We went for a late lunch and loved the atmosphere. It felt classy, polished, and calm. The Black Garlic Hummus was great and the Steak & Eggs Kebab was also really solid. Everything felt well done and balanced. I think this is a place I need to go back to for dinner to really experience the menu.

Delicious restaurant, I would go back! Food Black garlic hummus and the spiced chicken sausage flat bread were my favorite dishes of the night. The black garlic hummus was unique and has chickpeas on top. It comes with wonderful fluffy pita, I could not get enough of this! The sausage flatbread was delicious and so flavorful. I would order both again. The lemon pasta was good, very light and the lamb mixed grill was good. I thought it would be bigger given the price. Service Fantastic service! Our waitress was very attentive. Ambiance Restaurant has a cool vibe. Reservations Was easy to get a weeknight reservation the day of.

Stuffed Pita "Spanakopita-" Spinach, leeks, feta, and sesame seeds. $16 for large. Delicious/best thing

I was at this popular Mediterranean restaurant a couple of months ago with one of my usual groups. The space inside is very nice, with good lighting, and the service was also good. I was there early, as it's near my workplace, and I started with a cocktail from their large bar. I went with the Kiss The Ring from their "negroni style" section for $19, which had Harelston green blended scotch, amaretto Lazzaroni, Heirloom pineapple amaro, toasted almond bitters, and salt. The drink was well-balanced, being bitter but not too much, with a touch of sweetness and a very slight bite from the scotch. I think it would work better with a peatier or stronger scotch, but said drink worked well overall. Once the group arrived, we ordered a bunch of dishes to share. The first dish that arrived was our sole appetizer and one of my favorites, which was the Stuffed Pita "Spanakopita" with spinach, leeks, feta, and sesame seeds. There is a choice between a $10 small one and a $16 large one, and we went with the latter, and honestly, even if you were in a smaller group, I would recommend the larger size. The inside had a good vegetal flavor from the spinach and leeks, while the pita was warm and soft. I guess the only complaint I could make is that it was perhaps a bit salty, but that's partially expected for a spanakopita. We also got two pasta dishes, and they were very different from each other, not just by price but also by richness. I had a slight preference for the Mezzi Rigatoni, which was the cheaper option at $28 with braised lamb ragout, green olives, chickpeas, pistachio crumbs, and feta cheese. The pasta was pretty solid with some pieces of tender lamb within said ragu, with the olives and feta adding a unique saltiness (almost too much so,) while the pistachios added a fun crunch. This was an interesting dish, reminding me closest in terms of Italian pastas to a couple of dishes at the close by Norma Gastronomia Siciliana, though I preferred their pasta texture. The Black Truffle Mafaldine, for $45 with wild mushrooms, mascarpone, and parmesan, was our other pasta dish. The price point honestly makes sense, as this is big enough to share for two or three people due to its richness. This pasta had a better texture, being more al dente, though it was a bit more one-note in terms of flavor and texture. If you're looking for a heavy black truffle-focused pasta, this is a good option, but it's not my personal preference. Last was the alright Pork Shank Shawarma for $62 with pita bread, house pickles, and 6th Ave white and red sauce. The pork shank was massive and was almost a bit too crispy, making it a bit hard to break into. I appreciated the za'atar on the bread as the little bit of sourness from said spice mix helped with the rich pork. Their take on white and red sauce was pretty standard, with the former being a light tzatziki and the latter being mildly sour with a bit of heat. Again, this would be good for sharing, which makes the price much more reasonable, but I didn't personally love this dish either for similar reasons as the mafaldine. Our only other small plate was an added side, which was the Baharat Roasted Mushrooms for $16 with sour cherries and cipollini onions. The dish was small, even as sides go, with the dish having a surprising amount of sweetness for there being sour cherries, which was presumably from the baharat spice blend. This was unique at least, but I wouldn't order it again. The food here was interesting. We started on a very high note, though I would say that the rest of the dishes weren't as strong as our appetizer. The food is unique enough, though, that I would probably recommend it even if I personally didn't like certain dishes as much/would go back and try things that aren't their pasta.

Leonetta had an incredible ambiance and even better food! The setting felt warm and cozy even though it was packed thanks to gorgeous interior design and dim lighting. I made a reservation ahead of time and was seated immediately. The tables were spaced really close to each other, and some extra space would have been preferred. I was impressed with the dishes I tried. The black garlic hummus was out of this world, so fragrant and paired with warm pita. The Baked Black Cod "Dolma" was phenomenal and melt-in-your-mouth, accompanied by charred grape leaf and wild rice. I've heard great things about the thick cut za'atar steak fries, which were warm and seasoned well. We finished our meal with the rich Olive Oil Semolina Cake. The star of the show was definitely the black cod - I would come back just for that dish!

My party had a wonderful time at the relatively new Leonetta! All the food was delicious, especially the pita which comes with various courses that had za'atar spices on top yum! The pork shank was massive and very deliciously rich, if you are into the fatty cuts like I am. The shrimp cous cous was also amazing, we really cleaned the plate. They also have a great drinks menu which we tried a few mocktails from!

My friend suggested this place for our catch up, and we left very impressed! First, I loved the ambiance here. It's beautiful and just set the vibe well. We thought the cocktails tasted SO good which having a hint of alcohol taste. All the dishes except the Jumbo Lump Crab Ceviche were better than expected. The crab ceviche's portion was a lot smaller than the pictures that we saw but also we thought the ingredients didn't really blend together but felt like they were all separate; even the sauce/seasoning. We liked the typical ceviche that we know better. Our server had some sass but he was fun to talk to. Once we had the food and everything he left us alone, which I actually appreciated, and he checked in here and there when the plates started becoming empty. The Burrata Cheese was good, with the truffle in the bottom middle so make sure to mix it in! We left feeling full but content with everything!

Had a very nice brunch here before the new year. The have a pre fixe, so you can definitely get a good value. We went on the earlier side and it was not crowded at all. We subbed out the hummus for the eggplant spread due to an allergy and it was not to miss. The spritzes were great and so was the staff. The interior transports you to the Mediterranean. Awesome option in the area.

My close friend made reservations at Leonetta a couple of weeks before our NYC trip--she'd read about it in a magazine and had been raving about it since. It absolutely lived up to the hype. As we walked in, the vibe was immediately relaxed and romantic--warm ambient lighting, soft chatter in the air, and an inviting glow that set the perfect tone for the evening. We were seated within minutes and dove right into the drink menu. My friends tried a few of the cocktails (all super refreshing), while I stuck with a glass of wine that paired nicely with our meal. We started with the black garlic hummus and beetroot tzatziki with warm, fluffy pita--and let me tell you, not a single smear was left. The dips were flavorful, balanced, and dangerously addictive. The kind of starter that gets completely cleaned up before you realize it. For mains, my friends took the lead and ordered a few dishes to share family-style: * I had the shrimp couscous -- light yet packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. * The lamb rigatoni was rich, comforting, and had just the right amount of kick. * My husband had the lamb sausage, which came with some sides -- hearty and beautifully spiced. * Another friend went for something with stuffed dolmas that was equally tasty and satisfying. We were all completely full and happy by the end -- the portions were generous without being over the top, and every dish hit the mark. Service was friendly, relaxed, and attentive without being overbearing -- just the way you'd want it for a chill, intimate night out. Overall, Leonetta is a gem -- perfect for a date night, group dinner, or a stylish girls' night out. From the glowing lights to the Mediterranean flavors, it felt like a little escape tucked into NYC. Would definitely go back -- and next time, I'm saving room for dessert!

Visiting the city and my friend made reservations here. So glad she did bc everything was great. The esthetics alone were . Started with wine and cocktails, all perfect. Then we ordered burrata, crab ceviche, char grilled octopus salad, and the ABSOLUTE BEST, black truffle mafaldine. Everything was so good, but the pasta was DELICIOUS!

I came here for dinner after a friend's enthusiastic recommendation and tried the mezzi rigatoni, mushroom side, and gem Caesar salad. The gem Caesar was my favorite--fresh and crisp, though I felt it could've used a bit more lemon juice to brighten it up. The mezzi rigatoni was a bit under-seasoned for my taste and could have used more salt to bring out the flavors. As for the mushroom side, while I loved the mushrooms themselves, the overall flavor lacked richness and depth. Overall, a good meal with room for a few tweaks--still worth a visit!

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.
