Our server, Angel, absolutely made the night. Friendly, thoughtful, and on top of everything. Angel helped guide our order, paced the food well for a group, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Drinks were a highlight: bright, refreshing cocktails (we loved the mint/cucumber moment and a spritz-y option). We ordered a few plates to share and everything hit. My friend and I did the Gin Experience (flight of 6 gins) to celebrate my birthday. Usually, a flight of beers or wines means that several glasses are plunked down in front of you all at once. Not here. The experience spanned 2 hours (we took our time). Giovanni served us one gin at a time, gave us detailed explanations, and let us experience them in various ways - neat, sipped slowly, or with juniper berries or pink peppercorns added, or over ice, with tonic or soda, and with or without various citrus garnishes. As a dedicated gin and tonic drinker, I was startled how much I preferred to sip the gin all by itself, especially the more subtle and artisanal gins that are offered. Miriam was a delightful presence as well. I would strongly recommend this experience - take your time, ask questions, explore, take notes. I have a handful of new favorite gins to track down now. PS, Barr Hill Tomcat Reserve is still my all time favorite, but now I have some more on my list. We also had snacks (you shouldn't do this on an empty stomach). I didn't even bother with the menu; I just shared the kind of flavors I enjoy and we brainstormed together to create something unique (a gin from Oaxaca made from spent agave? Let's do it!). As you can imagine, they make a mean Martini (aka Loudmouth Soup) They have 2 separate bars. The Emerald Bar features over 840 different gin labels. That's a lot of gin!! They focus on seasonal spins of classic cocktails and a signature Gin & Tonic Tray Service. That's a unique and fun experience worth checking out. Tucked within the restaurant is the Ploume Bar. It's a speakeasy-style lounge that opens Wednesday through Saturday. It's a beautiful space that offers a more intimate experience with a creative and elevated cocktail program. We stuck with Martinis when we visited and they were all quite delicious. Thanks to my beautiful wife for the idea to shoot the Martini while she held it against the backdrop of the impressive bar. Went here last night and had a completely different experience than the 5-6 times I've been before. We were just trying to get into the speakeasy, which was already packed with younger kids who walked right in with no issues. Meanwhile, my group was singled out, carded, and then told we had to meet a minimum spend to even stay. No consistency, no explanation, and clearly not applied equally to everyone. It felt targeted and honestly just left a bad taste. This used to be one of my favorite spots, but after this experience it's off my list. Won't be coming back. POOR management. I love gin and have been following the Ivory Peacock for a few years on instagram and finally got to NYC to visit Fabulous spot! They have over 800 different types of gin as well as other spirits, beer and wine. There is a nice food menu as well. With 4 bars in one place there is something for everyone. I sat at the emerald bar. Comfy seating and outstanding service. It is pretty loud so not great for conversation. I didn't get the opportunity to dine here because of the lack of hospitality displayed by the staff. I walked in at 5:30PM on a Wednesday. I had one hour to kill. I just wanted a drink and a bite to eat. The person at the host stand asked me if I had a reservation even though I told them I was a party of one. I didn't have reservation. They told me I could sit at the bar. The bar was full - the only open stool was covered in someone's coat, meaning the seat was being saved. Not trying to get into a fist fight over a bar seat. I went back to the host stand, and asked if I could get a table. The host who spoke to me before was on a phone call. Another host came over and again, I was asked if I had a reservation. I repeated the same thing, I wanted a table because the bar was full. The other host said "I see open stools there." And wouldn't seat me at a two top. Again, I repeated, there were no open stools. The only open stool was covered by a coat. The host said I would have to stand in that case. There was zero custom service, friendliness or hospitality displayed. The restaurant was empty. I wanted to grab a bite to eat and have a drink, I would have been gone in less than hour. They also have a downstairs area that was apparently open too. So I left. It's ridiculous to have to beg a restaurant to let you spend money there. The situation could have been handled so much better. And for that reason, I'll never come back here. read more

Best cocktail bar experience in Manhattan! This bar is stunningly decorated and has the best most accommodating staff. We sat at the back bar and ordered Yakitori Skewers, Tuna Tartare and drinks. Everything was so incredible. Ivory Peacock is known for their gin selection so don't be shy. I asked the bartender for a White Negroni and when asked for my preference of gin I asked for his and was not disappointed. A very cute place with Instagrammable cocktails and foods! Cute decor semi modern style like inside fancy church, pretty new and clean! A decent place for date night and girls night out. This place gets busy after 11ish at night. Drinks are unique, very nice presentation , pretty good taste. Foods: nice presentation! Felt like Korean style but fusion. Good place that service Korean style bar foods while you are drinking. Taste was OK, some tasted pretty light while the chicken wings were pretty heavy taste but great to pair with drinks. Dined at the Ivory Peacock for their Valentines prix fixe menu. Along with the 3 course dinner was a glass of wine for about $90 per person. The restaurant wasn't too busy and there was a live jazz band which was really good. My galentine and I thoroughly enjoyed the music. The place is upscale-casual and seems like a great place to grab drinks. We started with the goat cheese and mushroom tart and the sushi. Both were really tasty. Such depth in flavor. The steak frites were great and the peppercorn sauce it came with was divine. Only complaint was that the meat temperature was lower than we'd asked in parts. Although the bartender helping us made it seem like we were terribly inconveniencing him since they were out of a particular brand of gin we wanted and then when asked what's similar to it he hemmed and hawed about having to climb up the shelves to grab it.... Great way to not make the sale, dude... Since dinner was elsewhere we just had an order of deviled eggs and they looked delicious but let's stop messing with the classics, folks. Under the elaborate yolk poof were some overly seasoned caramelized onions that tasted like way too much vinegar was used on them so threw off the flavor what a deviled egg should taste like. Only been here once and fell in love with this place. The atmosphere is wonderful they have different sections. The main area and then a back bar area which is a half circle type bar. Downstairs there is like a speakeasy. I did not see all of downstairs just took a quick look. This place I believe is known for having alot of different types of gin. I did not have any gin drinks but went with their espresso martini. And I mean WOW what a delicious drink they made. As you can see in the pictures it's so frothy and just looks magical. We did not have any of the food here but when we saw food come out of the kitchen everything looked delicious. Hope to try some food next time I come here. Highly, highly recommend this awesome cocktail bar!! I had my early birthday party celebration here and WOW I was impressed with the area they had reserved for it. It was a table with some stools. We were at least 20 people. The waitress we had was wonderful! The bar was pretty packed but our service was great! All my friends absolutely loved this place too and for many it was their first time here ( it was my second). I had the French 75 which was very good. Came here for NYC Restaurant Week and was not disappointed. I started with the Peking Duck Croquettes. They are super crunchy and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce compliments them well. My friends (who don't usually eat duck) also enjoyed them and would have them again. My friends started with the Margarita Flatbread--good portion size and not heavy in flavor. Note that it is very very flat, but that was better since it is meant to be an appetizer. I got the Thai Fish Curry as my main. Comes with a side of white rice. There is a generous portion of fish in the curry--I was incredibly full after finishing it. It wasn't spicy at all and was creamy with the coconut milk (it doesn't taste like coconut but it adds another layer of flavor), but not thick. The Truffle Spaghetti was delicious as well but smaller in portion. Very rich and creamy. My friends said the Ivory Burger was good as well and the sauce tied the meal together. It came with matchstick fries, which I personally love, so these were great--thin and crispy. We all got the Molten Lava Cake for dessert. The lava cake was pretty standard, it wasn't too sweet and the chocolate may be too dark for some people depending on your preferences. However, the gelato that came with the cake was HEAVENLY. As for the establishment, it is absolutely beautiful. Decor is neutrals and gold. It does get crowded and loud, not the best for talking, but I did see a few couples here. TLDR; dark/clubby ambiance with incredible/unique flavors to their dishes. Even better unbeatable restaurant week pricing! Ambiance (5/5): The inside is dark but feels super sleek with ornate walls, retro décor, but modern furniture. The music is very dance/clubby and also quite loud. I was added to a waitlist Service (5/5): I walked in and added my party of 2 to a waitlist and sat at the bar. Within 5 minutes, I was called and seated at a table. There are QR codes to scan and order and pay at the table. It made service really quick. They stopped by often to refill water and check in. Food: We came for NYC Restaurant Week and their 3-course meal was an unheard of, unbeatable price of $30. Almost all other restaurants charge at a minimum of $45 to 60. Deviled Eggs (5/5): Probably one of the best deviled eggs I've had. The bottom of the yolk had a layer of caramelized onions covered with a salted seasoned pureed yolk. The roe was a nice pop of color and taste too! Ivory Chicken (4/5): The chicken is pounded to a thin layer and breaded/cooked to a perfect crisp. My only qualm was that the breading needed some more spices to it and lacked a bit of flavor. The 'signature hot sauce' is OUT OF THIS WORLD. There is a distinct taste that may be due to pickle juice? Whatever it was, I asked the waiter if he could ask the chef if I could BUY a bottle of it to take home with me. The table next to me overheard and was interested to know the outcome and agreed that the hot sauce was amazing!! We probably used up the remaining hot sauce on our entrees as well. Chicken Sando (5/5): The chicken may be the same as the app but a little thicker. The sweet and spicy glaze complemented every bite! Again, the pickle taste was pronounced and the milk bread soaked in the sauce. While I would have opted for a different bread vessel, my boyfriend enjoyed it. Smash Burger (4/5): The burgers were juicy and tasted wonderful with the 'special sauce'. However, I was not a fan of the buns, which definitely held up the enormous burger but was a little dry. Creme Brulee (4/5): I've never had such a unique creme brulee like this! There's a hint of matcha and the consistency is a bit thicker but very delicious, creamy, and filling. Wonderful burned glaze to provide it a nice crunchy sweet exterior. Mochi Trio (4/5): Each flavor (mango, lychee, coconut) had a unique and hints of the flavor infused into the ice cream.
